I bought a slightly used 10 Pro (NE2213) from the local ebay. I am based in Bulgaria.
Phone is in great condition and has no sign of wear and tear. HOWEVER....
1. The Camera app keeps crashing.
2. Half of my pictures show as black squares in my Gallery. I don't know if they're not being saved or the previews are glitchy.
That's a big deal to me, because I bought this phone for my wife, so she can take photos of our baby.
So I thought I'd go ahead and update the software of the phone. It has Android 11. No matter what I do, it is impossible to get the update to install. "Extraction failed. Please try again".
I tried resetting the phone to factory settings several times, I tried turning on Developer Mode to install it manually, I tried installing Oxygen Updater from the Playstore, but I was never able to get past this error.
What am I missing here and what can I do? Please help.

Yes, I downloaded the package from OxygenUpdater. Then turned on Developer mode, but the Local Upgrade button from the 3 dots on the top right was always greyed out. OxygenUpdater says I need to install pending updates first, and then use their tool. I was never able to get past the screenshot above. :\
That's a nice tip...on the oxygen updater posts, there is one to restore your phone form Android 13, use that full package to flash OOS 12 again and you're good to go.

Please excuse my ignorance.
How do I "use a package to flash OOS 12 again"? Keep in mind I have Android 11, not 13. and that it's my first time having to do something like this. Does my phone need to be rooted for that?
I appreciate your patience and help, this is my first time having to deal with phone mods.
He said that he has the local update option grayed out so he can't install any package manually. Maybe it's grayed out because there is already another update downloaded. You should try to disable automatic updates and then delete the downloaded update from the internal memory of the phone, it should be in a folder called .Ota. If you can't see that folder you need to enable the option to show hidden files.
My best guess is use the NE2213 Full Downgrade ZIP. It should upgrade you to Android 12 and it's their only released FULL recovery zip so, it's your best bet.
However, seeing as you are on Android 11, some people here might want a dump of some images first, hahaha. It's widely believed this phone does not ship with Android 11
Download this package
https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/2370_sign_NE2215_11_A_OTA_0130_all_bb1e47_10100001.zip
And apply it using this apk https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/OPLocalUpdate_For_Android13.apk
Source: https://oxygenupdater.com/article/346/
You don't need to do anything more, but I would recommend you to unlock your bootloader just for precaution if something goes wrong.
Remember to have a full battery before starting the process and I strongly recommend to download from your PC or from oxygen updater to make sure that the package didn't corrupted

The phone released with Android 12 dude, not 11... If I remember correctly there was an Android 11 preview but it was never official so it may be a test device or ambassador device.
My first thoughts would be... Send it back... There's zero reasons why you can't as you're covered for things just like this.... If it's eBay then you should really use PayPal so you're covered.
Beyond that you can use the rollback package to roll back to the earlier versions of android 12, this will flash 2213 onto the device, just Google OnePlus community rollback and you'll find it.
Few other things, are you sure it's a 2213 or a region changed Chinese variant? Did it come in a box? Does that state 2213?
Either way this issue shouldn't be occurring, I'd be sending that back buddy.

Good evening folks!
I've been lurking around in this amazing forum for some time now, but now i need a little bit of help.. I have searched my ass off in here and out there in google city, but can't find squat!
So...
I have this Huawei P9 that used to be EVA-L09C432B182 until yesterday when i tried to update/upgrade to C432B360 dload style. It went great i thought, 100% and succeed message. Then it rebooted to eRecovery...
I tried to update the HW_EU the same way - 99% Fail message.
I've tried update via Huawei updater as you can see in the picture below. I also tried unbrick/refurbish via Huawei updater but all that happened on Hisuite you can also see in the picture. The circle of nothing kept going for hours.
What my EVA can do? Enter eRecovery (which helps me nothing), fastboot/rescue mode (Huawei updater kinda recognizes my device, Hisuite does not.) and force update three button method (Here i get a message when trying to flash anything from ext. sd card: "Not compatible with this version, download the right software". Or something to that matter.)
If you take a look at the picture i've tried to embed below, you'll see that Huawei updater recognizes my phone as
Hardware: EVA-L09
Firmware: EVA-L09-hw-eu-V001 (Never seen or heard of!)
C- version: C000
D- version: D000

I was stuck in a similar sort of place, I used a program called DC Phoenix, which I found in these forums. You have to pay a fee of 15 euros which gives you access to force flash a rom. It worked perfectly on mine after I had exhausted other options. Its part of dc unlocker. Hope that helps

I had the same problem, what did you do to fix it?
I downloaded DC phoenix from DC unlocker page. Bought 15 credits ≈ 15 euro
Downloaded full b361 for EVA-L09. Then followed instructions given by the program. I can explain better when I'm on my laptop if needed?
Still have no built-in camera, no BT, no NFC and no built-in flashlight..
This guide only applies to the phones with region number C636!!! I'm not responsible for what you do with your phone, take your own risk.
This guide will erase all the data on your phone, so backup before following.
If you downgraded your phone to 10.1.0.131 install GMS and then your phone&HiSuite keeps telling you that 131 is the latest version, this guide is for you.
All credits goes to "GSMFix" youtube channel and "Ictfix" website.
1) Get a USB OTG cable/stick (USB Type-A to Type-C). I got mine for 1.5 Dollars at Mr.DIY.

5) In your phone dialer, dial *#*#2846579#*#*
6) Click on Software Upgrade
7) Click on Memory card Upgrade
8) Wait patiently. Upgrade should take around 10 minutes.
9) After you boot into your phone, set up your phone and install GMS using Googlifier.
10) Voila! Now you can update your phone in the settings! First, it will update to 10.1.0.182 and then 11.0.0.151

It says the file is corrupted or needs a pasword pasword to extract. Is there a pasword?
Hello thank you for the tutorial
Please I am on 10.1.0.131 (C636) and have install GMS
will I lose everything if I upgrade via USB?
This is my current Version
Will it work
My GMS is working absolutely fine enabling the phone to use all my banking apps and wallets. If I follow this
it seems like to reinstall GMS again and loosing settings and data.
So rather I will stick with EMUI 10 cause not guaranteed that banking apps will run perfectly on this method of GMS installation.
Thank you

My one is C636 (original build was C636E3R5P4) but still getting an "Incompatiblity with current version" error when trying this. Current version is C636E3R5P1 10.1.0.182.
Any reason as to why this could be?
Hi All,
I have a Note 10 5G 4+128. It was originally on vodafone firmware and I unlocked the bootloader and installed EEA 12.0.8.0 Stable. I shortly after received an OTA update to 12.0.9.0 (RKSEUXM) so assumed everything was all good.
I have not received the 12.0.10.0 update yet and the three dots are missing on the update page for me to do it manually. If I reboot the phone and go immediately to the update page the three dots are there for a split second then disappear.
The only thing I can think that has caused this is I have removed something I thought was bloatware using the XIAOMI ADB fasttools java app on windows. I have tried reinstalling pretty much all of the "bloatware" but it does not fix the issue.
A few threads on similar things for different devices have popped up on reddit and people say to clear the data and cache from the system updater app. However I do not appear to have that app and its not in the list of things ive previously uninstalled as "bloatware". My system apps updater still works fine and reguarly updates other system apps.
Any ideas?
tap 10 time on miui logo. you will see advanced options
Thanks for your response.
I have tried this. It states the advanced options are active. My problem is that the 3 dots themselves which gives access to the update settings, which should be shown even when advanced options are off, is completely missing.
If I restart the phone and go into the update page the dots show for a split second then disappear. It almost feels like an app is crashing in the background or something.
Please see attaches screenshot.

mmm... you can try update manually with miflash tools. you know how to do?
I know how to use the miflash tools, however I believe the bootloader needs to be unlocked to use them. I have already relocked the bootloader so would need to wait a week to unlock it again, plus that would mean wiping the user storage on the device which is rather not do.
Surely there must be something else im missing here? Other people online have stated to clear the data and cache from the Updater app on other MIUI devices, however I see no way to do that.

online i have found a tool very helpfull. i have remove the brand from my phone with bootloader locked. now i have the latest eu version. you can try it to update your firmware. search xiaomitool v2 by Francesco Tescari. another helpfull tool i found is xiaomiadbfastboottools.jar
The adb fastboot tools are the ones ive used to remove the bloatware on this and other phones in the past. It is excellent.
The Xiaomitool v2 is also great.
However I still feel like I am missing something. I should not have to unlock my bootloader and wipe my device every time there is an incremental MIUI update. There must be something I am missing here that is causing me not to get the OTA update or have the ability to manually update.

mmmm.... my advice is a clean installation of stock firmware. and the best way to do this is via miflash with bootloader unlocked. i'm not sure but i think something goes wrong during an ota update. so a sytem wipe is necessary. you could try reflash your current stock firmware via Xiaomi tool v2. i have used it to remove my brand without unlock and works fine. but if this don't solve your problem i think the only solution is a new clean installation

I am on a global firmware, version 12.5.4, and sometimes the touchscreen becomes really unresponsive to the point that the device is almost unusable. I am aware that this is a known issue, has anyone found a permanent fix? Is this still a thing on more recent ROMs?
I feel this is not acceptable on a top-of-the-line phone like the MI 11 Ultra.
You must activate antiflicker in display settings and select "custom" in "prevent accidental edge touches". This is a workaround and improve this issue, still it may occur from time to time. Otherwise you can update to the latest 12.5.6.0, so far in this version I haven't seen this problem (although with those settings enabled)

You can push the update with advanced features. To activate them you need to press on miui button 6/7 times. After that download the latest .ZIP package (recovery update) and when in the updater select on the 3 dots in the up right "choose installation package"

I did that already and it stopped midway with stable recovery update, I had to format factory reset device and reupdate to original 12.5.4 to be able to use device normally.. And with only incremental update, it gave me an error saying cannot update with unofficial release.
May I ask you what did you download please?
Stable update 12.5.6 - local update- went all good, once reached the point to restart phone, then it fails after restart with veeeeeery slow phone and almost unresponsive, took 10mins to unlock screen instead of split of a sec.
Tried to flash a new 12.5.6 and 12.5.4 by fastboot, failed no matter what I do as bootloader is locked. The only way I got away with it was download 12.5.4 and local update it after I factory reset device which didn't help with smoothness but was needed to access local update again
AFAIK there is no fastboot 12.5.6.0 update, only recovery. I would suggest to re download the update as the one you downloaded might have been corrupted

I don't know, just got the phone 2 days ago. I'm trying not to mess with anything I'm not sure of.
Sorry if that seemed stupid but i do not want to risk it.
So if i update using that file I'm fine? Also is it the correct file or it should be bigger??
Usually recovery ZIP is smaller than fastboot. Onestly I pushed manually the update through OTA from stable 12.5.4.0 and everything went perfectly. Even with root and of course I have bootloader unlocked. Don't know what can go wrong if you have bootloader locked

Are you sure that he installed the global rom? With model is yours NE2213 ? I bought from them also but I don't have this issue.
Anyway, you can try to use Oxygen Updater, to check if there is an update for your device or since your device is reseted, you can install ColorOS back
Hi,
I am on NE2215. Using Oxygen Updater I see that I have the most up to date version.
Not sure exactly how to install ColorOS.. I do want to have the regular OS that I would have as if I bought the global version (which i guess this is what the global rom mean..)
Right, I agree with you. I recommended to install the coloros just to check if it's a compability issue.
You can try to reinstall you version and see what happens, just download it and flash it again.
ok, and now for someone that have no idea how to do it?
If yours is NE2215 A13 you can download the ota file from this link: https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/7548d30abac02bde85a403bcc3a218df868e1910.zip
Then put it in your phone root and from your device Settings -> About the device -> Click on the option to check for the update -> 3 dots menu -> local installation and chose this package. It will start the installation.
Thank you for your help !
Downloaded and copied into my device files.
However - When I go to "About device" and click on the "up to date" button to search for updates, it just tells me I have no updates and i see no 3 dots to go for local installation:
What am I missing?
I think it's obvious that something went wrong during the region change, this issue was prevalent on the 8 pro and was extremely difficult to fix.
Check out the 8 pro threads you'll be sure to see it. It's a partition iirc and if it's borked then it simply will not work..
I can't remember the name of it off hand but have a look and I'm sure you can get an idea of what may be wrong, specifically that partition.
Overall it's difficult to say as you've got a region changed phone, have you asked the seller what they did? If it is indeed as difficult as it was on the 8 pro to fix and seeing as you may be the only person experiencing this (far as I know) then I'd consider returning it.
You could re-flash the entire OS via fastboot enhance but that would also bring with it inherent problem's, if it's new then I guess the question you need to ask yourself is it worth it?
Did you save much money getting that converted variant?

Thank you for your help !
Downloaded and copied into my device files.
However - When I go to "About device" and click on the "up to date" button to search for updates, it just tells me I have no updates and i see no 3 dots to go for local installation:

This page is from android play services. You need to click on the first banner
@dladz TBH I bought it for around 70% of the price I would pay locally.. So yea, it was much cheaper. I also had before OP9 global rom and had no issues with it.
Maybe indeed as last step its worth trying to reinstall everything again.. I'm just not sure how to do it. I cannot find the local upgrade option as advised above, and after googling a bit how to do it using ADB, when i try to run fastboot oem unlock - the CMD will just show me forever "< waiting for any device >" (and this is although I was able to communicate with my device using "adb devices" and I got back my device id.
@zopostyle I did click on that banner you're showing and I got to the page I showed you before..
I'm clueless
If that is the page showing I'm assuming you're on a gsi ROM and not oxygen os.
Now it's better to reinstall OxygenOS completely because it doesn't seem to be the ROM you're running.
Search here on xda to unlock your bootloader and then you need to find the zip with the full ROM for you device and install it from fastboot as mentioned.
OK, i'm trying to unlock my bootloader but as I mentioned:

Any idea what am I doing wrong?
I tried several tutorials online and so far I found no tutorial that will actually give me step by step that each step is actually working..
Maybe it's missing the drivers. Try this https://gsmusbdriver.com/oneplus-10-pro

I feel you buddy.
You can use the app in my Magisk guide to do local installs.
Unlocking the bootloader you need to type fastboot flashing unlock
I haven't had to change region myself, but I did make a thread for someone else where the process was listed, think I called it changing Chinese firmware iirc.
If it's just a case of a re-flash of the firmware you're on, it's not that difficult.
Just use oxygen updater and grab the full firmware then do the local update using the app I mentioned above (listed in my Magisk/root guide)
I've never done this when not having the bootloader unlocked personally, but you can unlock and that'll wipe your phone with the recovery already on your device.
Only issue I have going down these routes is what else is missing? Do any of these processes stand up if we can't rely on the integrity of the OS that someone has put on and made a balls of it?
Sorry I know you may not agree but 30% is a small price to pay to avoid a brick and bring stability..
But that's me

Right, I agree with you. I recommended to install the coloros just to check if it's a compability issue.
You can try to reinstall you version and see what happens, just download it and flash it again.

That is a seriously good shout and would explain the fingerprint.
Hi guys, thank you again for helping me.
I tried installing again the uSB drivers, and ran again "fastboot flashing unlock" - it still telling me:
As far as I understand I have to unlock it for next step, right? (either for resetting back to colorOS or reinstalling oxygen)
I will try later tonight the other method (this magisk thing) - is this the link you're talking about?
Can you please also give me a link to download the full most up to date global Oxygen version and the CH Color one? i'll try both
Thanks !
For OxygenOS there is no A13 full yet...so you have to download A12 from this link: https://gauss-componentotacostmanua...22/03/24/a9f9e7ec682744c2ba606a366df587ac.zip
Source: https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-oxygenos-12-android-12-update-tracker/#oneplus10pro
The chinese one is hard to find, if I find it I post the link here...
Also this thread might help you: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oneplus-10-pro-ne2215-rooted.4431585

Really is odd about them not being full... They're massive compared to conventional incremental updates. 4.05GB that's a hell of an incremental.
Haven't had to do it myself and it's sightly off topic but is the full version you'd use to recover a phone albeit without a functional MSM?
So fastboot flashing?
Cheers
Hi again,
So, i'm trying to follow the tutorial here. I got stuck already in the first step - I cannot extract the boot file using Fastboot Enhance:
This is although in this link I have downloaded a full version (EU version (NE2213_11.A.13)).
What should I do next please?

As @zopostyle said earlier.. you'd need to use 12 mate. As that's the only full version available...13 won't cut it...you can extract the images using the button that says allow incremental, that's useful for extracting boot images for rooting.
But there's a reason why that's there, it's so you don't go ahead and flash it.... According to @zopostyle 12 is the only full version so that's what you would need.
Again I've not done this myself so perhaps wait for someone else to chime in what to do next.
