Since i installed CM9 nightly, occasionally i cant swipe pickup/unlock while incoming call.
Screen lights up, all the icons are there, but frozen until incoming call ends...
Phone has been wiped multiple times after CM9 upgrade...
Any ideas what's happening ?
yup its known bug and for me locking and then unlocking screen at the moment of incoming call does the trick
Screen off and on does the trick
yes pressing the power button which turns the screen off, then turning it back on makes the button respond again.
Good luck
Hi all,
I've come across a couple of problems with the phone that I've put down to manufacturing, but I'm not really seeing anyone else complain about them. I'd just like to see if anyone else is experiencing these issues or if I should have my phone replaced under warranty.
Issue 1: Microphone.
During a call, people can hear me clearly, but if I switch to speakerphone (or use an app like Skype or Viber, which usesspeakerphone for video calls), they have trouble hearing me. I know there is an issue where the mic stops working for some people, but mine is still working...only I sound very faint to the other person. If I bring my face right up to the phone and speak, they can hear me somewhat clearly, but it defeats the purpose holding it to my face when I'm in a video call.
Issue 2: Screen touches during a call.
I've noticed that when in a regular call, the screen turns off when I bring the phone to my face, and turns back on as I pull the phone away, which is fine. The problem is though, that while the screen is off and pressed to my ear, shortly after the light of the screen turns back on and it seems I've been pressing things with my ear, e.g. pulled down the notification shade, opened an app on my home screen or opened my app drawer, etc. Is anyone else noticing the screen turning back on mid-call? Or does anyone know if the screen still responds to touches even though the backlighting is off? Or is this an iPhone 4-esque situation where I'm "holding it wrong"?
Thanks guys
I take it the lack of responses means that no one else is experiencing the issue and that I should swap it under Warranty :/

Never faced any of such issues with my nexus. You should go for a replacement
Hi,
It seems like my proximity sensor just randomly switches off during a call and I touch buttons with my face. I don't exactly know what's happening though, my phone is in the same exact position always when I talk. Sometimes it goes mute, sometimes it goes on speakers, sometimes both.. etc.
Any tips?
Thanks
I'll be on a call and the other person will suddenly be unable to hear me. This happens with stock and Pure Nexus (running on both elemental and shamu). It doesn't happen regularly. It hasn't happened in weeks, but yesterday it happened twice on one phone call and once on another. I can fix it during the call if I mute and unmute the phone on the display. When the phone mutes itself, the display control doesn't show that mute is active, only I after I press it and "activate" it.
I used to think it might have been my face pressing against the screen, but that can't be it as the screen is off while I'm talking. In order to fix it during a call, I have to turn the screen on first. Has anyone else had this problem?
I had this problem and found call screen lock in the play store (which solved it). It turned out I was somehow tapping mute with my face while on the phone after not tripping the proximity sensor...
It only happened rarely, but you can tell if you might be doing this if your screen occasionally wakes up while on the call without being pulled away from your face (the proximity sensor thinks it is not close to you face intermittently).
I could swear their used to be a setting in the phone app to automatically turn off the screen during calls. I can't find it in the version with this device, and although the proximity sensor works when I'm holding it to my ear during a call, when it's in my pocket the screen stays on, (or if receiving a call/connecting while driving it turns on), leading to the mute, bluetooth, or end call buttons being randomly pressed during calls and causing issues. Am I just not finding the setting, or is it gone, or is there some other way to shut off the screen automatically when a call is connected? ( I know, don't leave the phone in my pocket by driving, but looking for something a little more functional here). Thanks!
