Just wanted to get a feel for how people are with their p20 pros
Personally I want to change very little.about it, I'm rooted and have my normal rooted apps, adaway, titanium, 1 magisk module swap torpedo (kills the swap file, not needed for 6GB of RAM)
Other than that, the theme, the signal location, the camera, it's all pretty amazing.
I expected more from the battery but I can live with it.
The only thing I think that will annoy me is the lack of ROMs, but it's hurting a lot less than it did on other odd devices I've bought:
Sony Z1
Note 4
I think if Huawei would have flooded the globe with one variant with Google esq updates, it would have been one of those phones that alter a generation , kind of like the HD2 and Nexus devices did and Oneplus devices are.
Instead we've got several variants with a completely insane and i mean insane after market development scene, it's like everyone got the memo but me lol.
How have you found yours for the time youve had it?
I love it.
The battery is immense, and because I regularly have days with 8hrs plus SoT, it's a godsend.
I knew the camera was good, but it's better than I hoped, so much so that I got rid of my compact camera and my DSLR gets much less use these days.
I don't understand what you mean by lack of apps?

Lack of US supports hurts. I really like the p20 pro but if the p30 pro next year doesn't support tmobile band 71 then this will be my last Huawei device.

Sorry pal I meant lack of ROMs.
8 hours? Not bad but consider if it was as well optimized as hear vanilla phones.
Oneplus 5 835 - No limits ROM. 14 hours 30 minutes.
Battery size is 3400 Vs the Huawei having 4000
Lol I expected more
We should be clearing 10 hours daily

Think that decision has been made.
I think they're missing a massive part of the market tbh.
I got they reconsider, I really do.
1 model
1 target audience
Quick updates
Bootloader unlocking
That is all I need.
= A healthy community.
Bare in mind, were the people who or families and friends ask when they want to buy a phone.
I can't recommend Huawei anymore.
I wish I could.

I think you should go out on a Friday night..... you're looking for something to amuse you. I've had to stop in and have a drink.
I'm quite into this phone apart from the complete lack of updates (I have the UK model)
I don't modify much these days unless I can't utilise the full screen because of onscreen navigation buttons but, luckily, this device has the perfect solution. [emoji3]
I must admit, I loved my HTC desire days....the customisations we could do then....Leedroid...my hero.

That decision was made for them by the US government. I am not sure what the whole story is behind it but no Carriers in the US want anything to do with Huawei now.
With carrier support and good advertising they could have made a decent splash in the US overtime.
Even if they support band 71 it's a tough sell to spend so much on a phone that won't have any US warranty backing.

All I know is, Oneplus have come and dominated.
They've provided for everyone.
Bootloader? So so easy.
Speed? The one thing parents and kids need when you hand your phone down to them.
Oneplus stands alone.
Huawei have the know how to be technically and globally dominant, but theyve missed out ingredients that matter.
I'll never buy another huawei, as much as I love it and I did I couldn't commit over £1,000 to a company that gives so much then breaks it with poor policies, awful selling tactics (models) and ridiculed hardware.
Maybe it'll be different one day but ive had this conversation before about a giant (HTC) and they never recovered,.
I'm curious to see how Huawei do next year, I have a feeling that they'll be reversing their decision very soon.
I just fear it'll be too late.
PS I really really wanted the p20 pro to succeed or even has suede hdmi via USB is superb.
They did swerve the bootloader decision and release a firmware for vanilla Android.
Completely blow every other phone out the water.

Yeah for people that like to tinker, oneplus is one of the best options. I just hope they keep improving the camera, o6 is a good start.
Yeah I don't know what Huawei was thinking with so many different varriants. Oneplus did it right they only have two hydrogen os for the Chinese market and oxygen for the rest. The hardware is the same as well.

Which is superb
Not sure I'd buy the op6 tho.. it wouldn't last as long as the op5.
But I agree with you pal.
The camera, battery, design, screen, storage space, are all far above my expectations. Well done huawei. I'm very glad I did the change from oneplus and Samsung.

I think op held back on the battery and going to improve it for o6t
Sold mine. The software update situation was just a joke and frustrated me more than the benefits the rest of the device brought to me.
Shame but learnt my lesson now. Pixel or OnePlus devices for me going forward.
I'm having mixed feelings about the device. I have bought it twice, as I wasn't happy, so I could compare and find out if the problem is the device or me.
So far, I'm very happy with build quality, usability, design, screen and functionality. The camera of my second device is better than the one of the first, but I'm struggling to get good battery life with both. 3 hours DOT, maybe four if I'm lucky. I think that's not really good, and as both devices behave like this, the problem must be me. Not really sure what I'm doing wrong, as even my old rusty iPhone 6 can give me 3 hours of DOT, so I expected a lot more in this aspect. Other than that, I really like this device.
It's amazing
The missing notifications from some apps is a problem, wish someone could do a guide about how to fix that
Also, battery drains pretty fast, i can't get a full-day through it
Are VoLTE and VoWIFI draining the battery faster, any thoughts on that?
Best phoned I ever had. Slow at getting upgrades but can live without it. Battery, camera, performance are fantastic. How people can complain about the battery life? I am a heavy user and and can't kill the battery in one day
I get 3 hours SOT. I don‘t think that‘s stellar.
I switched from Samsung to p20 pro and thats the best ive ever done.
I love the p20 pro, its amazing, the screen, the smotheness, the SOT and so on.....
Greetz
I need a long lasting mobile with good specs already tried honor play got screen burn issue in bright white color and flickering display don't know that peice was defective or its model fault.
Anyways need suggestion on what to buy for 3yrs use and need good specs and camera good enough to take notes picture, mi A2, redmi note 6 pro, honor 8x, honor play or asus m2 pro?
Which one should i go for? Poco f1 is not an option cux of cheap built and screen bleeding issue and soft bugs.

I recommend the most obvious then ...well actually if you want more customizablilty and a strong sturdy phone with exceptional performance for day to day tasks then mi a2 is good...if you want no customized and on disgusting emui but with a siginificantly faster 710 go for it
To be honest...

Well snap636 should be fast enough for normal day use and medium size games and i am talking about battery issue that when battery get to like 4% it take hrs in charging it and i don't think that everytime 4g net + google or games will work up for 6hrs.
The only thing i want is a durable phone with medicore specs to run smoothly

My luck is quite bad with mobiles, zenfone got bricked even after repair some it got bricked again and then purchased honor play then it had screen burn issue so got refund and today honor play price is decreased by 60$ but i don't know to trust honor anymore and all mobiles seems to be concentrating on specs instead of hardware durability.
This phone has NO issues with battery life. The media and the journalists feed us bull**** all the time, they see a number and make an assumption. My phone lasts easily a full day with normal day of use with a lot of calls, a lot of searching on the net and some video watching in the car with some audio book listening. This phone lasts more than my old Samsung s8, than my newer Samsung s9 and on par with my last year mi a1.
Many people already said battery life is good if not greqt., But are afraid to say it is excellent because the tech YouTubers said it's "meh" for some reason, even though many of their phones that they own last less than this one.
This is one of the best phones under 300 and dare I say it comes close to even the bigger budget phones.
The only thing I can't comment on is gaming as I do not play games on my phone. I listed all my activities above you can make your educated guess. I have two phones left right now that I use that is my older Samsung s8 as one of my all time favorite phones, and this one, and I am thinking of getting rid of the s8 as well. The s8 as originally more expensive phone is fluid in terms of UI, better looking to me, better camera hands down, and more powerfull, but to be fair I could not care less about most of the things except I really enjoy the fluid UI Samsung has build in the past years with the S7 s8 and s9, but I am happy with the stock to so whatever.
Go for this phone dude, you won't be sorry in the next 3 years unless you play heavy games (for those I have no clue, you will have to ask some one else).
The only thing I would suggest if you have the budget is go for the 6GB ram version, that will help you last longer with your phone for sure, it's a future proof more than anything else.

Haha, If you don't like poco for the reasons you've posted forget the a2. Screen is a nightmare (compared to other lcd not oled, before some "akhchually" carebear shows up). Bugs talk for themselves. Build quality ok for the price, but it's disgustingly copying the iphone x, or it's just me.

nightmare and disgusting are words that are usually used for phones of the 5-10 usd from china with shipping. I would not call any disadvantages or shortcomings that you think the phone has (obviously comparing to phones with higher price tag or with better individual parts but with other parts lacking) nightmares or disgusting.
but as you said its just you
ps: iphone copied samsung that copied iphone that copied samsung that copied apple that copied samsung that copied nokia that copied ericson that copied siemens that copied sagem that copied motorola.
point is bit invalid copying is the biggest form of flattery
Which phone will be more long lasting in terms that it will not slow down after Android or Interface (Samsung Experience, One UI) upgrades?
I'm looking between these 2 phones for the one that will have a better CHANCE for lasting 5 years being as quick and as “battery life good” AS POSSIBLE.
I think all of us know that the OEMs make our phones slower by patches, upgrades with attached algorithms to slowly month after month (so we couldn’t notice) shorten the battery life, slower the speed and make battery consumption bigger with sole intention for us to buy a new model next year or in the next 2 years.
BTW I don’t need the Pen and I don’t play any games and I don’t need a super good cam. EDIT: no rooting and no custom romming for me on that device for ever.
If I don't need the Pen why to bother with Note you may ask?
Well, I hope that Note being the business phone is going to be treated better by Samsung in the above terms than a Galaxy S phone, but maybe it’s the other way around?
What do You think?

i'm using a Tab S 8.4 SM-T705 LTE as a daily driver it's coming up to 5 years, it's still going strong! im rooted modded my Tab S is an awesome bit of kit!
Both phones you have suggested, can easily last past 5 years so it's up to you what are you reqiuremnets do you need a S-PEN ? or you into photography then go for the S10+
i'm planning on keeping my Note 9 for next 5+ years! that's if samsung dont put a hole in the display, for the next Note lineup, if they do then this is my last Note from samsung i'm ever purchasing!
if you dont mind the hole punch in the display? Then go for the S10+ as that screen on the S10+ looks awesome! i find it much brighter then the Note 9! Also i doubt i'll ever upgrade my Note 9 to ONE UI PIE 9 it runs super smooth on Oreo 8.1 so i'm sorted for the next half decade!
It's all about personal preference,

1. As I said I don't need a S-Pen and I don't need a super good cam. So neither drawing nor photo making is my deal. I just want a super fast Samsung phone like these 2.
2. The screen od S10+ looks and feels in touch even absolutley awesome.
3. I'm happy to hear that someone is not laughing that a device would last 5 years..
4. I found out yesterday in shop that on stock rom (Oreo) Note 9 runs smooth but I fear that after upgrading to Pie+ One UI there's going to be at least micropauses, (it freezes for a second), lags, no smoothnes enymore like in S8 that recently upgraded from Oreo. All stock, no root, no custom.
5. Do You think the same will happen to your Note9 after that upgrade? Are You afraid?
6. Is it possible not to accept an Android upgrade in Samsung but still accept security patches? And how can I do it since each time I will me asked to first - upgrade to Pie+OneUI?

1: S10+ is the one to go for then!
2: That screen is awesome i had a play with one wow it’s really sharp and bright it's an beautiful AMOLED display SAMSUNG nailed the S10+ display!
3: Dude there's nothing wrong with having a half a decade old device! (Please ignore keyboard warriors! Oh no he’s keeping a device for 5 years lol) When people see video playing on my Tab S 8.4 it's so sharp and bright they are shocked how amazing it looks not bad for nearly a 5 year old device!
4: its early days for ONE UI PIE 9 as i did install it only played with it for 24/48 hours! Man they have taken so much away really feels childish! i think Samsung thinks if they copy Apple they will become even more successful stupid way Samsung is going!
5: See my 4th answer early days as i said before let ONE UI PIE 9 get ripe maybe in a few years i'll upgrade!
6: No it’s not possible! Well that's what I’ve heard i could be wrong! Truthfully security patches I’m not bothered about them, there's so many sheep (No offence to anyone) People thinking if they don’t have the latest security patches they will get hacked or owned what a load of bull! Please note Google isn’t no small player! Also please note i do daily banking, Amazon Shopping eBay Purchases, PayPal Transfers purchases random website shopping etc. from my rooted Tab S 8.4 i haven't had no issue never been hacked! And i doubt it ill ever get hacked!

With all do respect it's harder to get hacked on 1) tablet 2) old 3) rooted and maybe custom romed 4) not so popular compared to the phones we're talking about
besides I think I wrote that I'm not going to root nor custom rom the device ever EDIT: I didn't, I'm sorry, I edited the OP.
1. I know how factinating the screen is but the longivity is my absolute target.

if i didn’t have the Note 9 i would have gone for the S10+ one thing i hate about these days smartphones batteries are not user removable! My Tab S 8.4 i could easily get 10+ hours out of it hard use!
Now i get around 3 or 4 hours that’s with just under 4000 chargers discharges!
So this time I’m not letting the note 9 drop below 20% and i try not to charge full 100% keep it at 80 or 90% i just want to see few years even 4 years down the road if the battery can give me a easily day use as it now!
Just be careful with battery charge discharges if you really want it to last 4/5 years!

1. You removed the old battery and bought a new one?
2. I am already careful with that 20-90% but ti's quite hard on S8 with 3000 mAh but I imagine it even could be harder on Note 9 with 4000 mAh.
3. Let me ask You this: On the day of start of sale of Note 9 or on the day of start of sale of S10+ if both devices cost exactly the same would you still gone for S10+ and why?
You could have gone for Galaxy S devices long ago, with S9+ for example or ealier. Why did You even buy that Note9 then if You probably don't share my theory of Samsung respecting the Note users more than Galaxy S users?

I don't need to watch it. I compered these cams long time while being in a shop.
I don't care how great the winner is. The looser is still so good that I don't care about that.
And I said something about camera (read again please) for people not to try to suggest me getting a Xiaomi POCOPHONE F1 that has Snapdragon 845, from screens on the net it has a good camera and it costs 300 USD.

1: Nope it’s still the original battery!
2: brilliant i only recently found out 20-80% battery theory!
3: That’s hard question wow I’m leaning towards the Note 9 due to Bluetooth S-Pen it's so cool and real handy in real world use! Plus Note feels more pro type of device! But after seeing the S10+ the other day! Sorry here I go again the screen i know i keep going on about the screen sorry i can’t get it out of my head it's so crisp bright! But the only true upper hand the S10+ has over the Note-9 is the camera setup and here i go again screen and off course the newer Exynos CPU!
4: i did go for the Galaxy S8+ on launch (waste of £870 as I didn’t use more than a handful of times. I swear I didn’t charge it no more than 50 times no lie over a year and some odd months I had the s8+) See all my life i kind of have been a Note user don’t get me wrong the Galaxy S8+ was a brilliant device but dam did I find it real boring! It like felt this phone is not for power users, it’s for the general folk!
i agree with you 100% Samsung Note user do have more respect than there Galaxy S users! Everyone knows! Samsung Galaxy Note Smartphones are for the power users and the business users!
You can truly run a company of the Note 9 it’s got so much power plus DEX plus Linux on DEX! Yeah I know you can get it on the Galaxy S range! But it feels more premium when it’s running on the Note sorry to sound geeky but you can’t mess with the Galaxy Note range as it’s in the league of its own!

3. I don't mind that you bring it up often cause I also was paralyzed when I saw and touched S10+ screen with my bare hands and it totally ruined my plans for quick decision making. I was mezmorized just like You and yeah the Note 9 ' 10nm Exynos vs. 8 nm Exynos in S10+ that makes it even more harder cause the seller told me it's the first Samsung SoC that took the idea of AI seriously, however I don't believe in this hardware-software AI marketing BS. It's just good software algorythms and all - like the ones that make photos better and find faces on camera app. The newer Exynos is just better case it's minus nm and its newer a probably better.
4. I'm shocked how we share very simillar experiance and way of thinking. My S8 was long on the shelf aswell. I agree with the rest.
5. Can You please tell me if I order Note 9 in 1h what are the names of these DEX devices to put into the cart that are for Note9 deigned. I will get a % off then. I don't have time to check it now on line cause there's too much of this and Samsung always changed something in names depending on which type of flagship and generation it was.
6. I share real conceirn about not accepting any update after potentially purchasing Note9 - cause the first will probably be the Pie+OneUI ****pack.
7. Please tell me in short about Linux on Dex that you mentioned. What's that about?

You said a couple of things (you don't need a pen, for note in this case, and don't need super camera, S10 in this other case) that for me means that you don't really need both of them and for the pen, this was the real deal that made a note the most reliable respect to others in business terms in all the years since this solution was adopted to a phone / faphlet making it more nearly to laptops or desktops in its business functions.
In business terms, less bugs is the right solution and to have this situation, that means less firmware updates and not the opposite because when having a lot of updates, that means mostly correction of bugs and not only monthly security pacthes....for example, passing from oreo to Pie only when Pie gets to be solid rock is right for the note because it's intended for business uses but not for the S10 because it's intended for people who wants mostly a new OS for the new functions and don't mostly care of some secondary bugs knowing that there going away in the next releases so they can wait. Seams ridiculess, but believe me that there are a lot of people that wants the beta versions (full of the wrost bugs) because they can't wait for the stable versions coming out.
Saing this, the bugs that can afflict a phone after a major OS update is equel to every model so battery drains, freezes, slowing down situations and other things can or can't happen equally to all and mostley bepends on the modifications (new launchers, apps in conflict with the new OS, ecc) made to the phone before the upgrade that goes in conflict and even depends on cash /data conflicts and corruptions so that's the reason why when having problems, wipe cash or data of the single app or of the entire phone resolves.
For the phone itself, the note 9 is the only one having a revolutionary cooper pipe cooling system that makes cpu and gpu working cooler and faster (less autotrotheling for to much heating... in other words, less cpu gpu frequency drop downs for heating protection ) and makes all being more durable and only for this, the note is the best since now, even more then the S10, and this should be even the answer of the title of this thread.
On the other hand, the S10 is the new model and like for the coming out of all new models, it's going to have new hardware solutions so better cameras, stronger and faster cpu / gpu respect to the older models. Notoriously, the note series having same hardware of the S series so the note 9 is basicly an S9 with a better cooling system (the first time happening) , bigger battery and screen and also having a pen with correlated functions...so, definitely, the choise is yours and depends on what you need or want.

1. I don't need a pen cause I'm not an artist, drawer, graphics guy. I bought a Stylus for S8 and I enjoy it and use it 1/3 of the time. Maybe I get addicted to S-Pen like many people as I've heard.
2. I like smooth and fast responsive phones with super AMOLED and nice interface ..... etc. so S10+ vs. Note 9 stays on the battle field.
3. Do You think that upgrading S8 the first day Pie+OneUI came trough OTA and started lagging, 1-second freezing, not smoothing would never happen on the first day on Note9 and now after some time I could with no hesitation update Note9 and be sure that I will notice no drop in the 2. point areas?

So true! Once you see that screen on the S10+ man it's like a sledge hammer imprint on the brain! crazy how bright and really vivid + super sharp Samsung has pushed that oled panel to wow!
Yeah defo the Exynos in the S10+ is way better! Samsung is really pushing towards the AI side of things! I havent really read up on the 10nm vs 8nm will do sometime! Bixby they are pushing as there Ai, Bixby isn't that bad it comes pretty handy once you know the commands!
For Dex you need a USB-C - HDMI cable or you can purchase Clicky--> Samsung Multiport Adapter EE-P5000BBEGWW Also you will need a Bluetooth keyboard, and mouse, once all hooked up you got a full desktop experience!
Same with Linux witch can run in DEX so you got a full desktop O.S from your smartphone!
DEX is pretty polished off you can browse the web play games edit documents office etc. really you got a portable laptop in your pocket!
See pics!!

1. The first link made my day - I need that for a laptop in this shape LOL!
2. The two second links at the bottom are strange - the last one says it's for S8/S8+ ("supports")
3. What is that whole in the middle of Dex Station - is it Gigabit Ethernet for RJ45 Lan Cable?
4. So Note9 has linux inside? wow, do you what distribution or if I can launch just being in Note9? Or this Linux is simple the thing I see in the monitor after connecting DeX?
5. Does DeX Station charge wirelessly or trough hard connecion with that USB-C stick stand up in the middle of the DeX?

Yeah Dex first launched on the S8, S8+ it was a big deal for Samsung! They haven’t updated the page, it is compatible with the Note 9
I’m not sure if you can charger wireless, I do know it has inbuilt fan to keep your phone cool while in Dex mode... And it does charge the phone once docked!
Yes it is a gigabit Ethernet socket
I can’t answer that as I did order the Dex multi dock seller let me down so cant test what version of Linux is running on the note 9 see this link for more info on Linux for Samsung smartphones https://www.linuxondex.com/

Dude, one very important thing, a "expert" on the net and in real life calimed that:
- the DeX station for Note8 is exclusive in name and in destination
- the DeX for Galaxy S9 is exclusive in destination and name
So now let's focus is there a third type of Dex or a fourth and what it is name and what does it do and for which phone is it?

For 1. Pen is not mostly used for drawing reasons and normally it's used in many working fields and even in multy tasking environments and its the only way you can put an hand made signature in a document for example...
For 2. The response that you can have is mostley the same and if there's a difference, you will not be able to notice it if you don't put them both near to do the same things... So for me, this thing is worthless for deciding only if you consider it when phone is cold... Heat them by using them and, you can look if the note is faster because it's cooling system let's the cpu run on the same frequency as its cold...
For 3. The first version released of every OS is laggy whatever model you consider, Even for the note with Pie, then the other releases corrects buggs. Explained in my post why other things can happen and doesn't depend only for os having bugs by itself. OTA is the worst way for updating... better using a pc with smart switch or Odin.

2. I totally get what you mean but I am sensitive for Samsung's lagging, let's leave it there cause we both go into places we don't wan to be. S10+ vs. Note 9 stays!!!
1. What is multi tasking env. for you in this particular sentence?
3. The other releases corrects.... by releases you mean like Android 9.0.1 or Android 10 or security patches? Why OTA is bad and why smart switch (what's that?) or Odin (recovery mode ? how?) can be better?
BTW yeah I know, don't ask me how in the ..... I ended up on XDA with the last questions.

Well, explaining some things could be to long so, for not going OT and for returning on the threads title and question, if the software is the same and offers same problematics , hardware is different and even if S10 has the most last hardware, the note has the most efficient cooling system ever made for a device and that makes more durability and also makes the device faster because not heating where others will causing, in the others, a decrease of cpu's frequency for overheating ... So, for me, note 9 is better.

In terms of business, the one thing Samsung takes seriously is Knox. This is irregardless of device.
Knox is what makes Samsung money once a device is sold to a business.
Want to build a custom APP using Samsung APIs or manage your Samsung device inventory, you have to pay Knox licensing fees.
One of the primary reasons you see security updates released for older devices is because multinational corporations and government outfits have thousands of Samsung devices in their possession. If we have a issue, we raise it with Samsung. They address it based on OUR severity versus THEIR OWN. If they don't, we go to the Carrier we purchased it from and apply pressure. Either way, internally or externally, the problem is addressed and the average consumer/enthusiast benefits.
Hi all,
Just a quick one, thinking of buying the mi 11 but will be just a UK stock one as not really got time for flashing etc, just wondered with battery life and other connectivity issues would you still recommend buying ?
Cheers in advance
Not yet if ur life depends on flashing custom roms
Even tho it appears you can do plenty of tweaks with ADB tool ??
Struggling to find a replacement for my mate 20 pro !! Defo need wireless charging which a lot don't have
not anymore,
i purchased it in march,
it was much more expansive than now, for sure
however there are many things which annoys me on my mi11
--> battery is not good
--> proximity sensor sometimes is crazy
--> receiption of wifi and 4g is not as good as other phones directly next to each other
--> updates does not have any changelog, i mean at least there are updates but no one knows whats changed
--> it's too big somehow
--> curved screen annoys me
sure, might be different for other people, but next time i will not buy on day1 + smaller and no curved device
I'm very happy for my mi 11. I'm on Xiaomi stable EU rom.
Works nice, battery life is ok (120hz screen and resolution obviously eat battery somehow).
Work smooth, is super.
Only one minutes is that night video mode it is not good as it was on official Xiaomi materials for this phone.
Screen is beautiful, worth of buy for it.

How could you buy a phone that looks and feels in a way that you don't like ?
Some things you find out about a phone after using it a while, but there are pictures even on google...you can see how it looks and how big is it.
I have Mi 11 and yes, the battery is ok, but it could be better if the CPU wasn't so power hungry.
The rest of the "issues" that you listed are your fault, or a local issue...not all Mi 11 have those issues.

I've got to be honest, I think the device is amazing in every way, and my phone background is Samsung Note series phones, and to be honest, this is an amazing device.
Battery life is very good, and I have no complaints about anything else if I'm honest.
You mention changelog, but where you go to update the software, it tells you what was included in the last software update ?

and the mi11 simply disappoints me personally
It would be fine if it would be cheaper or if i would not get a poco f3 which is doing everything the same except a slight worse camera for 1/3 of the money

This is the first phone you ever had that comes with SD888, so don't compare.
Hey man, ignore the others. The phone is great. I purchased it for only £500 and it's the best phone I've ever purchased. The only downside I see is battery life. With my usage I get around 5 hours on screen time but this is without using the battery saver and with 120hz enabled. If you tweak some settings you can easily get upwards of 6 to 7 hours.
If you know what to expect from MIUI, then it isn't really a big deal. However, if you are used to clean ROMs, then MIUI will slap you.
It comes with a lot of suspicious apps and most of Xiaomi is about colorful effects that do nothing. There are a lot of bugs and overall the focus is 90% on themes and design rather than functionality (e.g. you can't use one handed mode when you got gesture control active).
If I knew back then what I know now after using a Xiaomi for 2 weeks, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Very happy with mine, bought chinese version £500 and flashed Xiaomi stable EU rom which is clean while saving money pretty much up there with S21 ultra for spec while costing less Love the screen at 120hz and set res to FHD as I cant tell the difference I get around 5-6hours SOT and overall build is very good pretty difficult to find something at this price and spec
Also dont mind MIUI actually like it
Looked at Wanda for buying one, but didn't know you could put EU rom on ?
Did some flashing in past but not done anything recently so some questions,
- it easy enough with these ??
- also what's updating like ? do you need to do them yourself once flashed ? you don't get any OTA ?
- do all standard google / banking / gpay stuff work ?

Hey man, flashing the xiaomi.eu ROM is pretty easy. It is basically a modified version of the China ROM so have all of their cool features. You can check out the guide by visiting their site or checking the thread which should be a couple below this one. Updating is done via twrp flashing as you do not receive OTA updated. Google works fine however you may need to do some tweaking to get your bank app/gpay to work. For example I needed to install an app called adaway to block some DNS so that my bank app would work. Hope this helps.
Cheers and if I bought global version would you need to flash that??
Just I struggle for my own "tech time" now i'm busy with work and a wife ! :-D

Hi all,
Just a quick one, thinking of buying the mi 11 but will be just a UK stock one as not really got time for flashing etc, just wondered with battery life and other connectivity issues would you still recommend buying ?
Cheers in advance

I have UK model (supplied by UK H3G network vendor), with Global MIUI 12.5 (Android 11).
Battery life is stellar
SOT is 8+ hours at 60hz
OS is stable and smooth.
Wireless and reverse wireless charging work perfecty.
Mi 11 5G is basically on par with a Samsung S21 Ultra at half the price (minus the 10x zoom lense).
Before I had Mi 10 which I bricked somehow, idk for sure it's my fault but anyway I've got refund of price which I paid when I bought 10, so natural choice of my was 11, and in comparison to 10 it's way better fingerprints reader, faster which you can feel everywhere, stunning display even when compared to 10, still way better, battery lot better, camera no words the huge difference, in overall my 10 had about 250 apps and was really slow sometimes, getting hot with no reason,.
Now 11 the same amount, almost but mostly all, before bootloader unlock and flashing Xiaomi.eu is working as I expect from mobile, fast, no lags and no overheating.
But it's not like 10 was bad, try to understand me comparing to 10 Xiaomi made a good job and released much better successor. That's it, if my 10 would still work I probably wouldn't buy it.
Previously I had mix 2s and wait two generations to hop into new one, and same before.
In overall it's very good model, and I don't regret that I picked that one instead of Poco F3 or whatever else. I trust flagships are better not only with 10-15% performance, where's more of everything...
I'm a bit reluctant to Xiaomi but it's seem to be the cheaper. I had a Poco M3 that didn't turn off anymore after one year of use and I was wondering if this Redmi Note 10 Pro had the same or others issue ? (This before buying it since it's the same brand).
To be honest, this phone has got Power off and power on Scheduling, So if there was a hardware issue with buttons or something that stopped you turning it off, you could still set a schedule for it to automatically power down. All phones have problems eventually and yes it seems like its a lot of power for such a cheap phone, but i personally did lots of research when i was looking at Xiaomi as a replacement phone, i didnt come across anything that put me off except on some of the newer flagship models and Mi models there appeared to be a battery overheating problem, thats what pushed towards the Note 10 pro, which seemed to be the most solid of the Xiaomi range the last couple year. Do some research, read the best Xiaomi of 22 Reviews, they give you all the pros and cons of each model, im sure that will help you make your mind up Bro.

Thanks for your reply. I've buy a Samsung M52 and see if I like it or not even though it didn't seem to have custom rom support.
