Mi a2 stuck on twrp screen - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Hello there
I think i did somethinh wrong while trying to install twrp. Now when it boots it stays stuck on twrp screen, i cant switch it off. If i try, it will boot again on twrp screen. But i can boot it on fastboot mode.
I tryed with adb commnds to reinstall twrp but it does not recocnize dhe device when the phone is in fastboot mode.
If i boot the phone on the stuck twrp screen it is recognized by adb but it does not executes any command.
Eventually i thought trying to clean flash the stock rom will fix everything and i can try again with a fresh start. But the mi flash gives error,; flashing is not allowed for critical partitions.
The bootloader is unlocked.

Try flashing your original boot.img (that worked with your current ROM version) back to the device from Fastboot.

Not adb. You need to be in bootloader mode with Fastboot access to be able to flash boot back. Power up the device in bootloader mode with the vol+power buttons and confirm that your device has Fastboot access (e.g 'fastboot devices' returns your device id). Flash your boot from there. If Fastboot access is impossible, it's a bigger issue but try that first...

Update. It loks like using adb was the problem. But using the platform tools i could execute comands and i fixed the issue. The phone is clean and i could flash the stock rom with mi flash.

Hello, i have the same problem. Did you use only mi flash to resolve the issue?

Mi A2 does not have /recovery partition, a recovery is a part of the /boot image, and thus TWRP is not to be "flashed" into /boot (or absent /recovery), but can be "patched" into /boot installing appropriate .ZIP file in a temporarily booted TWRP (tip: search Guides).
This "revelation" could be found in many threads / guides in this forum - search could help you.
As well as "revelations" answering your question:
AndroidOne devices do not need any MiFlash (except for testpoint unbricking, tip: search Guides), if bootloader and critical partitions are unlocked, just normal fastboot.exe from latest Android platform-tools (tip: search in Guides).

if you already flashed cwm and viperone you should know these thing right?
you flash a recovery in bootloader mode using fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_file.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then boot in recovery and push your rom if its not already on your sdcard
Code:
adb push name_of_rom.zip /sdcard/
and select ''install'' and flash your rom.
Thanks didn't remember been a while since I did it

The Fastboot picture is to small. Can´t read what´s written there but i guess your device is FRP locked since there are two red texts/lines on the bottom side.
The only thing you could try is placing the right Update.App on an SD card and do an forceupdate via Vol+/- and Power. Since you don´t know the original Build, you have to try different files until one works.

Hi,thanks for your reply,
i tried many times that solution.when i do volume+/ and power device get Huawei's erocovery and i press the "update with internet" it says "no wireless found".the other alternatives are "power off" and "reset".
PS:Yes,you're right in the second image,it says:
PHONE Unlocked
FRP Unlock
with red color.
If there is "PHONE Unlocked" and "FRP Unlocked" written on the Fastboot screen, you can flash a new system. Extract System.img Recovery.img boot.img and cust.img from an Update.App and flash via fastboot. To be able to do that, you should search for "Minimal ADB and Fastboot Driver" in the XDA Forum and instal that.

ADB drivers all installed.Phone unlocked but it says "FRP Unlock".Not FRP unlocked.i flashed many times new system. Extracted System.img Recovery.img boot.img and cust.img from an Update bu nothing changed.i think they can not installed.
i tried many different roms..B145,B321,B114.And i tried to install twrp recovery but nothing changed again.
i tried all adb command to erase local stroge but isays the command are false.
and i forget to say:my computer can not see the device.it says "device not found".i uninstall the adb drivers and install again the last driver but nothing changed.
Any other way to install rom?
Or if i have to unlock FRP can i install rom?i don't know muck more about the Huawei system.
i upload images again.
You have to use fastboot commands in fastboot Mode. ADB commands wont work. Plug in your Phone. Open device Manager on your pc. Look for "android device". Remove Driver. Unplug Phone. Install "minimal adb and fastboot". Reboot pc. Plug j. Phone. Pc should find Phone now.
Minimal Adb and fastboot drivers also installed. My device shown like this at the device manager.
And i wrote wrong i tries always fastboot commands, sorry.

Xiaomi Mi 5 Needing Root Guidance

Hello there and sorry if this was something asked 100 times. I haven't found quite something up to date.
So I've had my Mi 5 for some time now and I've decided to Root since I do need quite some features. Problem is I'm pretty scared of doing this since I've never done it before and I'd like to ask here if everything that I'm about to do is correct and if it's not I could get some steps into the right drections.
I'm on Global 9.1.1.0 (NAAMEI).
I'll be able to unlock my bootloader in exactly 10 hours since I had to wait for that stupid 72 hours lock so here's what I prepared.
From what I understand I need to flash TWRP Custom Recovery and download the specific one for my device. Their sites lists twrp-3.2.1-0-gemini.img as the latest for Mi 5 so this one I'm guessing is good to go?
I've also installed fastboot adb drivers installed, the TWRP mentioned above and I also renamed it to ''twrp'' to make things easier later on. That's how my curent folder looks.

Enable USB debugging from developer options, turn off my phone into fastboot my pressing volume down and the power key then connnect it to my PC via USB.
So I'm to shift right click into this very folder, open up cmd and type fastboot devices to see if my device is properly reconized it shoud show up some numbers. After that type fastboot flash recovery twrp.img then it shoud do it's thing and after that type fastboot boot twrp.img to load up TWRP.
I've put into my phone's storge the following to be ready:
- lazyflasher-no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip
- Magisk-15.3.zip
-Magisk uninstaller
After the recovery boots up I am to flash the lazyflasher and Magisk and hope my phone isn't bricked. Is this all that I need to make sure my phone will not bootload or anything like that? Thank you

You only choose 1, either fastboot flash (replace ur existing recovery) or fastboot boot (just temp boot to twrp)... I suggest the latter...
You don't need lazyflasher with magisk, what's that for?... [emoji6][emoji6][emoji6]

Installation by MIUI Flash Tool is going on forever

Hello, my phone is stuck in Fastboot mode (rebooting does not work, it will always boot into fastboot mode) so I just followed this guide to flash a new ROM: https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
But I am wondering, why the installation is still going on after over 10min. - What is wrong?

}
After trying it again:
It is just stuck forever and I do not know why, I do not get out of fast boot mode and I really do not know what to do now.
Like doesn't the "status" say something what is wrong here? I cannot identefy it, but has anyone enough experience with it and maybe experienced my issue already?
Try flash non-official rom via recovery (twrp). After successful flash, launch system. Then, try flash latest stable via fastboot (do not use FLASH-AND-LOCK, use it only after successfully flashing like flash, check if everything is ok and then flash it again and lock).
I cannot enter recovery, I am stuck in a Fast boot loop. The phone won't let me get into recovery mode.
So flash TWRP in fastboot mode.
And you could try to flash another ROM because "echo Missmatching image and device"
The name of your directory path should not include any space. Replace the spaces with underscores, dashes or just remove them.
From your screenshot, you selected clean all and lock. Try unlocking the bootloader again.

Thanks, but the thing is I fixed all those things already as my last picture shows: https://img.xda-cdn.com/5kNbM-6ZvzA8Jvc_Fc-qUwGIG-Q=/https://i.imgur.com/ZOhtier.png
@Tomcar do you mean 'fastboot flash recovery name.img' ? That does not work, it still boots me into fastboot mode everytime I try to get into recovery mode.
Shure, because you are locked again
I fixed the problem. I just downloaded a newer version of Mi Flash and now I have the newest version installed. So the plan is to install a new custom rom now.
Why is wipe system not recommended to do?
And do I have to "wipe internal storage"?
I really do not understand.. Now as I sad above I have the newest version installed and the phone is unlocked too!
When I go into fastboot mode and do "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" it works, but when I boot into recovery mode with volume UP and power button the old recovery is still there.
What am I missing out here?

Try after "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img"
"fastboot boot recovery twrp.img"
Once you do this, the recovery should stay permanently there.
Dont know why, but this was working for me.
(I hate this phone, too many strange things with it)
On my Mi 9, what I did to make TWRP stick was to press vol up + power right after flashing the recovery, to boot into TWRP.

Thanks, this did not work somehow the boot command did not get recognized: "C:\Mini ADB and Fastboot>fastboot boot recovery twrp.img
fastboot: error: cannot load 'recovery': No such file or directory"
I was facing the same issue. I stopped the flashing. Copied manually the recovery.img file that came with the flash tool, and flashed the original recovery manually, cause i had it on a customer recovery. Then i tried again, it showed a more meaningful error, basically the path of the folder we're flashing can't have spaces. moved the folder under C: and tried again.. all worked!!

Question My redmi note 10 pro max stuck in recovery mode after flashing

Hello. I have unlocked my bootloader last night and flashed my redmi note 10 pro max through fastboot mode today. After flashing xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote10Pro_V14.0.2.0.TKFMIXM_v14-13 rom, my phone started rebooting, MIUI 14 logo appears but suddenly it went into recovery mode directly within 04-05 seconds. Now if I reboot the phone, it opens but after 04-05 seconds it again went into recovery mode. I tried wipe out and safe mode option too. The scenario is the same for both cases. Asking for your help regarding this

I think you dl'd the global stable, not EEA for EU. You want the 14.0.3.0 for EU.

yes may be. what to do now? how can i flash any other rom?
Put on your phone and try the Apply Update from your recovery. I believe it looks in the downloaded_rom folder in Downloads on internal SD.
There is no such things like apply update in the recovery mode.
how can i flash custom recovery without turning on USB Debugging? as I can't open my mobile right now I ain't able to turn on the usb debugging. please suggest

Correction. The downloaded_rom folder is not in Downloads, but beside it in the root of internal C. Try creating that folder in Windows with the phone connected and put the file in there then reboot and see if it installs automatically. If not or you do not see the phone in Windows, then you can flash the version of TWRP for your phone using the official TWRP source location and install from it. You stated it is unlocked already, and USB Debugging may not be a problem since this is a stock MIUI ROM. Use the 3.7.x from twrp.me.
Can you still get fastboot? If that case, I'd revert to stock with MiFlash and start again...

I can get to fastboot mode. but as my usb debugging is off, my pc doesn’t recognize my device.what to do then?
Don't quote me on this, but I think MiFlash doesn't need USB debug, only the right drivers.

will try then. thanks!
Try flashing TWRP without USB Debugging from fastboot. It might work. Then you can flash your install file inside it, which being MIUI, it should not require USB Debugging either.
hello, to use fastboot you don't need usb debugging, usb debugging works with user confirmation only with the system started, instead, in custom recovery it works automatically, if you want to restore your smartphone, you can do it by downloading the latest miui fastboot for your device from here: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/
once you download the right package (be careful what you download!), you will have to flash the rom via fastboot, you can use mi flash if you are comfortable with it, be careful with the options below, if you leave "flash and lock" it will flash, but it will lock the bootloader, if you don't want to lock it, select "clean all". good luck
