hi guys,
Is your Super AMOLED screen still working properly ?
how long did you own your phone ?
Have my phone for 8 or 9 months, still going strong, nothing funny and no burn-in.
I use the screen mostly at low brightness.
I have the idea that JVH/2.3.3 has lower brightness, or it is just the brighter days in summer. But it is not burn in as there is no pattern.
Works perfect here.. No issue at all after 8 months. ther eis 24 months warranty so.. got some time for it to get crap and turn it in if it does. =)
All good here. 11 months, no burn in, no colour problems. Generally use lowest brightness settings. Perhaps flashing roms/themes on a weeklyish basis, helps prevent burn in.
Of course, why do you ask?
As far as burn-in (burn-out) if I display a solid blue screen I can see where the AM/PM used to be (before I turned the clock to 24hr) and some small 'smudges' where the other status icons are. Not a big deal.
Different themes would probably help, especially if there was less blue in the status icons (green or orange instead of white) since it burns out faster.
Time burnt in .....bought it like that

status bar and time burnt in when displaying on white screen.. bought used though.. also keyboard is shown very lightly.. but doesnt bother me much though..
I've had mine for 10 months and so far no burn in.
I'm interested to know though, what causes the burn in's?
I've had mine for about 10 months, medium brightness most of times, sometimes max brightness.
Clock is a little burned in screen and sometimes I can see the swype keyboard keys on very white and bright backgrounds.
about ±7 months already...still nothing weird ... still no screen burn in detected.. and nothing unusual...
when stay in house/office = lowest brightness... when outside/driving = maximum brightness..
I don't use brightness. Screen is practically brand new. Screen protector since day 1
Fasty Captivate
I think the app, NoLED causes burn ins.

Used for about an year now. Mainly auto-brightness all the time. Mostly portrait mode. With white display occasionally I may see taskbar contour on the top. Not seen when watching videos in landscape mode.5 star for this display after heavy use.

The time is burning in on mine, visible barely only with blue screen. 5 months.

Unlikely. The notifications appear all over the place and move frequently specifically to prevent burnin
13 months
auto- brightness
looks completely fine to me
Having my SGS for 7 months now,no reported burn in or screen problems.! The phone is a beast.
1 year now,no problems at all
How long do you thing that Amoled screen will last ?
i have mine just over a year now and like others I have burn-in where the notification bar is but nothing else....
Does anybody know if the warranty would cover the burn-in??
13 months, still working great.
So it's my second N6 and another problem. Firts they gave me replacement phone, because back cover became unglued and battery expanded. In this replacement, screen is not even. On white webpage right edge of the screen looks much colder, than the left edge. When on dark background, like grey right edge looks blueish and left edge looks normal. I took it on sevice and they told me this is on feature, not a defect or malfunction. Is there some program/kernel/anything, which can control screen edges seperately ? If I turn adaptive brightnes off and screen on brightnes on highest, the problem is much smaller.
In my first Nexus 6 I had screen that was more bright + yellowish at the bottom and darker + pinkish at top. Shop replaced my phone without complaints.
They sent mine to service, and they told that it's feature. Now they dont't answer my messages and I'm stuck with that defective unit.
Hello all and thanks for reading,
Just purchased A tab s2 and loving it except for the screen (1 of the prime reasons for buying). I like to use a black background to help with battery power when I noticed that on three edges there seems to be what I initially describe as back light bleed or what Looks similar to back light bleed. 1 horizontal edge is fine.
What I'm seeing is lighter edges on the notification bar area (some edges are worse than others). As I rotate the s2 the issue changes but its always where the notification bar is and most prominent at the edges. I can only describe it as grey banding that stretches across the screen and drops about a centimetre from the top.
I went to a local Samsung repair shop and they said it was like "screen burn in, like someone used it for satnav for a three hour drive". Now that comment concerns me because now I'm thinking l'll just return it and get my money back. It's literally 3 days old.
Anyone else with this issue?
Thanks.
Return it for an exchange. OLED's don't need a backlight since the pixels themselves light up.
Hey,
i just got the Xiaomi mi8 (Global Rom, MIUI 9.6) and noticed a thing with the display. If the brightness is under 40% (lower the problem gets more and more visiable, gets really bad at 10-15%) the black is starting to smear if next to a grey color. If i move a black part surrounded by grey over the screen the black smears into the grey. I also noticed there is a slight color gradient from left (dark) to the right (getting brighter).
I contected the shop i bought it from and they said they never heard of this problem. I googled the problem but got no resaults. The shop send me a new Xiaomi mi8 but guess what, the same problem occured on this new device too.
I tried to record a video but its really hard if the room is dark and the screen is at a low brightness but maybe you can see what i mean at the edges of the black parts if you look closely.
mi 8 screen recorded with a camera:

I made a test pattern and attached it to this post. Would be really helpful if somebody could check this on his/her own mi 8 and leave feedback!

Really? Hmm, than i have to look for a device with a good old LCD panel.
Absolutely normal, my old s7 did this too, its due to the fact that pixels are turned off when displaying black and it might take a fraction of a second to turn on resulting in this smear. Happens to all oled displays
hey
has anyone here had issues with their screen - im getting some smudges on the middle right side stretching towards the center of the phone - is a darker smudge most evidently in white/grey/light colours situations or low luminosity
it also has a green hue when seen at an angle
i tried all sorts of troubleshooting but it wont go away - if any - i think its getting worse
i will have to send the phone back for a replacement but am wondering if others have had this issue and is it just me or this year's quality of display is worse than in past years ( i never had issues with the display till this year)
Two words. Amoled lottery.

Nope...clearly a screwed screen. Replace it before Samsung finds a way to put the blame on you...
