I really need some help on this as my phone is basically in factory state with a custom ROM. It looks pretty, but it's pretty useless as well

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S Plus Lagging Problem

Hi Everyone,
I have been using Samsung Galaxy S Plus for a few months now and have noticed that my phone lags after a few days of use. I have quite a few applications installed on my phone and figured that maybe this might be the cause of my problem. I have used apps like "FMR Memory", AutoKiller Memory, Speed Booster to kill running processes which might be causing the lag but without any great improvement. I have even installed CPU Master and set the min CPU speed as 768 MHz but that didn't rectify the issue either. I have used Android Assistant to keep unwanted apps on starting at boot as well but without much benefit.
My phone is rooted, and im using the stock rom, namely XXKPE (Kernel version 2.6.35.7-perf [email protected]#1), firmware version 2.3.4.
The best solution i have seen so far is to reboot the phone. But this is just a temporary solution because after a day or two the phone starts lagging again. I almost always have a problem when i make a lot of calls on my phone.
Any help or tips which might help me resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Saf
Try to install latest XXKQE. Should help.
Also clear cache, but I don't know if that option is present in stock Android recovery.
Hi przemcio510,
Thanks for the reply. I have used 1click cache cleaner as well but didn't notice much difference.
I will check out the ROM you mentioned but i would really prefer not to flash my device.
I want to know the reason which causes my phones to lag and how to identify and stop it.
Saf
You may having lots of apps on ur phone. To solve this without flashing, buy a external sd and transfer the apps from internel to external. Check out App 2 sd after getting the external sd. Other way is to flash a kernel. Flashing a kernel will increase performance by overclock thus you will experience zero lag. After flashing a kernel you will be able to overclock. Increase the MAX VALUE, not the MIN VALUE. You can't overclock a stock kernel.

[Q] Help needed!

Hey Guys!I am running crytsalPA 4.4.4 on my Sony Xperia Sp.When I first flashed the rom,it gave me an excellent battery life,as high as 2.5 hrs of screen time and 12 hours total standby(includes screen time) on just a 50% charge.I downloaded an android l theme from globalapk.com and applied it.After doing that, a lot of my applications were inaccessible and crashed.I couldnt remove or uninstall the theme at which point I figured it would be a virus.I completely wiped my data and the cache and reflashed the rom,but the battery life has never been the same. Its gotten so ****ty now,it drains at 2.5-3% in deep sleep i.e there is practically nothing keeping it awake.I flashed a vanir rom and reflashed it,but nope.Even battery calibration didn't help. Please guys, need a solution.I really love this rom .Thanks
Device:Xperia SP c5302
Rom:Crystal PA 4.4.4
Kernel:Same as with the rom
Bootloader:Unlocked
Recovery:CWM
The theme you installed was propably incompatible with the ROM you were using, causing all sort of issues.
There are CM themes, launcher themes, etc...
Just try a fresh install (factory reset, all wipes, no system files restore from titanium backup or anything similar) of whatever ROM you choose to use. Should solve all your issues.

Ah a case of people trying to NOT purchase an application. No matter, I will help you, pirate
So the globalapk website is not always trustable as some users put up viruses there. The best solution for you is to flash stock SONY ftf and then reflash CrystalPA onto your device. Battery should be as normal

[Q] Xperia TL- Lags/Freezes with 4.3 installed

Hello Community, I have an AT&T LT30at Xperia TL phone. I have been trying to get the latest 4.3 update on my phone. However, when I get it installed I get system-wide lags/freezes. I have used the Sony stock firmwares(from multiple regions), Ultimate PureXT, & Ultimate PureXT Black(the last two by @DaRk-L0rD). However the result is the same, no matter what I am doing, from using an app to just just browsing my homescreens. Every few minutes, I will get a lag/freeze that lasts approximately 5-15 seconds. It is very frustrating, especially considering when I revert back to the Stock AT&T firmware 4.1.2, everything is alright again, no freeze, no lag. I really enjoyed the 4.3 experience and would like to have it back lag/freeze free. Just to clarify, yes I have followed all instructions pertaining the PureXT's to the letter, as well as instructions for flashing the stock Sony 4.3 Firmwares. I'm fairly certain this has something to with my phone itself, considering I have not found or heard anything like this with the TL, all posts I have seen in regards to 4.3 on the TL seem pretty satisfied. If any more information is needed, I will try to provide to the best of my abilities.

I assume you did the cleaning of cash, Dalvik cash, and data before installing a new ROM. If so, I would suggest a factory reset, too. Please make sure you do a backup of your installed apps and personal data (contacts, calendar, etc. ). All of this will be gone after the factory reset, but you will be able restore it from your back up.
@ArtDC Yea, I did all of that, to no avail. Which is why I am stumped.
I think I might know where-in my problem lies. I have all over the internet looking for an answer, and I think I might have finally found it. The /boot partition, which houses the kernel and ramdisk. I wonder if there is not a possibility that something in there might have gotten corrupted. If so, how would I go about fixing it? I know how to format it via TWRP, but I do not know where to find the original /boot partition for this phone to reinstall it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have it installed on my TL. It was crashing and running like **** at first. Then the phone started rebooting all of the time on me. I ended up replacing the battery. Now it runs fine. Not amazingly fast or anything, but I like the new features. Sorry, probably not too helpful. Just sharing my experience with 4.3 on the TL.

Help needed with first root of 510 (Vodaphone)

Hi all,
I am I a position where I can get unlimited tethering, of which I am grateful for. I purchased the phone from Vodaphone and then moved to another provider. Because its a third party phone, tethering is not detected.
So, I accidentally updated the software version of the 510 to 1.51.161.12 and then to 1.51.161.14 and my tethering application took a MASSIVE hit.
Tethered to an Xbox one, I now get huge packet loss, very low MTU, huge latency and slow speeds, which was not present before the update. I have contacted the HTC devs to let them know about the issue. I have already troubleshooted all my devices, factory reset, wiped the cache etc...
I wish to roll back the version. I realise in order to do this I will need to root my phone and flash a ROM. The only Kernel I could find was on the htcdev website and was version 1.51.161.10 from vodaphone. Is this a stock ROM?
Can anyone assist me in safely flashing my phone, I have never done this before and I would like to keep my unlimited tethering and phone in working condition. I did Google it but I couldn't find any decent results.
What is a safe guide to follow? I am completely inexperienced at this and would really appreciate the help.
Is dip_spits guide appropriate for a a UK carrier, does it matter? I almost used this guide
https://support.digitalendpoint.com/hc/en-us/articles/204812787-How-to-root-the-HTC-Desire-510 -until I realised that I need philz recovery for 64bit. Will using the dip_spit guide lock my carrier again?
What ROM can I use after rooting. Why is it so hard to find information on HTC 510 rooting and ROMs
I am looking for a safe way of doing this and have posted multiple times on XDA, but nobody can help me. The reason I am doing this is to restore functionality to my tethering, which has broken for no apparent reason.
Thanks

Okey.....a lot of questions.
Firstly, if you are 64 bit there is no need to use philiz touch recovery. There is TWRP recovery for our device. You can get it here:http://twrp.me Don't search HTCDev for 64bit ROM's. The only thing there are kernel source files. The carrier lock is not in any way connected with the operating system (at least thats what I think). And it's highly doubtful that the lock will reapear. The reason that you can't find a lot of guieds about our device it's mainly because the majority of devs here on XDA are from the USA. In the USA they sell the 32 bit version of the phone and the software is very different from the 64 bit.
Now lets talk about ROM's.
If you want pure stock rom you can search for it here mega:///#F!3Zo10Zya!-NbM_2RWWecFlc5mH9bLbA
If you want a custom rom you can get this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-510/htc-desire-510-64-bit-eu--international-version/cyanogenmod-12-1-msm8916-64bit-t3281744
And if you'd like a debloated version of the stock you can get this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-510/htc-desire-510-64-bit-eu--international-version/android-4-4-3-stock-os-debloated-64bit-t3361689

Ok so here is what happened when I rooted.
I unlocked the boot loader and made a recovery using philz touch. The PROBLEM is that I didn't have an SD card installed so what happened is philz touch partioned part of my phones memory. So I go to root and it is successful.
Now I got to recovery to install back the system because I was not happy with the way some of the apps were running and I want to install the stock vodpahone RUU on zubaggys page. I go ahead and recover but now it has taken more memory. I am now running my old ROM and kernel with less than 1 gig of free memory!!
All I want to do now is reinstall the stock vodaphone
Another question. When I was rooted, I downloaded barnacle tether and messed with the transmit power in the settings. I disabled and uninstalled. I also downloaded port forwarder ultimate and messed with the setting but uninstalled.
Will this affect my ROM installation, will it be fresh.
Thanks.

If philiz touch partitioned the phone then it's a miracle that it's still working. At this point I will suggest you flash TWRP because it has a more clean interface and there is no way you'd mess up something. Afterwards use it to format every single partition you can find with it. Beware that with this you will delete all data including the OS. I am not 100% percent that this will work because I haven't seen a situation like yours.

Jeez, I guess i have got myself in a bit of a sticky situation. I followed dips rooting procedure and it explicitly stated not to use twrp and use Philz touch instead for 64 bit phones. It also didn't state to use an Sd card.
We are talking in two threads here, so I suggest, to help other users with a stock revert, that we continue in Zubaggys thread. You are being a great help and I really appreciate you giving me your time.
