Question Unable to reboot phone "system updating...please wait" - Xiaomi Mi 11

i got a mi 11 (stock, Europe), it is 2 weeks now i am stuck with this problem.
something crashes (it is visible while I use my phone, like 9gag for example, and all of sudden it closes.) after the crash, chrome doesn't open pages, different apps don't open as well ( they open and immediately gets closed)
this is all fine, I don't care about software issues like this, my problem is holding the power button doesn't display the reboot menu. Instead with a small text on the bottom I see "system updating...please wait". there is no need to mention that waiting won't help. The only way I found to reboot my phone is through battery -> plan a shutdown in a min or two -> wait -> boot the phone.
this happens like 10 times already and it is really annoying, does someone knows a fix for this, or a quicker way to reboot my phone?

Must be a software bug are you familiar with miflash? Did you unlock bootloader?
But first back up and do factory reset.

I didn't do a single thing on my phone. but will try a factory reset. thanks!

I had that same problem. After I've deleted the updater app datat and Cache it was working normal

[Q] Help - Boot Loop problem (Can't go further than the pattern lock screen)

Hello,
I am having an issue with my SGS since this morning.
I write all details:
1) I was using my phone normally and testing different apps to lock the phone in case the SIM card is changed.
2) I wanted to check if those apps make my phone slower and I use the "Quick System Info Pro" app to check the processes.
3) I chose the "Application" tab and I applied a sort by data... From that moment it freezed...
4) The screen was black for more than 5 minutes. I couldn't do anything so I removed the battery in order to make my phone restart.
5) After restarting my phone, it asked my pattern lock as usually. But then the screen stays black... Then a message tells me that the system process had a problem and propose me either a force close or waiting that the process is available... Even if I wait or I do a force close, it restarts to show me the pattern lock screen and shows that the system process crashes. I have noticed that the battery icon and mobile network icon is not displayed at all.
I don't use a custom ROM and my phone is not rooted. I don't use any special fix neither.
Does someone had this same issue ? Is there a way to solve it without formatting the data ?
I am waiting for your answers.

Thank you for your answer.
I had no solution. I had to use the recovery mode... Now it works better as all apps are removed.

Boot is sticking at the splash screen.

I've got this little problem, if I reboot using Autoreboot (from the play store) or via the extended power button menu the phone reboots as normal initially but then hangs at the 3 network logo splash screen, where it hangs for around 30 minutes before finally turning on properly. Turning the handset on and off normally works perfectly however.
Is this a problem I've caused?
I'm running 290 Fw, UB, Doomlords kernel.
Look like some incompatibility to use the Autoreboot, he maybe doing something wrong. It's nothing wrong what you did, is just the app. I will suggest to use different application and see if the issues persist or even do not use Autoreboot because to me the phone should not be rebooted every day at all.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try using a different app, I have to reboot everyday unfortunately. If I don't the phone goes mental, starts freezing and jumping around, apps force close and it doesn't respond to touch or physical buttons. Rebooted once a night and it runs perfectly and I can't fault it.
I'll see what happens with another app though.

Z3 Compact randomly black screen

Hi there
I have a really annoying problem, that happens maybe 3-4 times a week.
Take the example that just happened today, I'll be using my phone writing through messenger, and then suddenly the flow function doesn't work in swiftkey, but I could still write messages and get responses.
Then when I hit the home button my screen goes black: *Don't know how to link to pictures on a new profile*
I can still pull down the notification bar, and pressing the recent apps let me see the title for the last app I used for a split second before it goes dark again.
I can even open my camera app, through the physical button, and when I returned it looked like this: *Can't post pictures*
I can always fix it by restarting my phone twice, the first time it doesn't register the sim card, and after the second time everything is working and back to normal.
I've considered factory resetting my phone to see if that would work, but I've so many apps and settings customized, that it would take a very long time to restore, and even then I'm not even sure it will fix it.
Could it maybe a hardware issue?
It happened on 5.0.2 and still occur after the 5.1.1 update
I really need your help guys.

phone turns off by itself

Hi, this happend already to me few times so I decided to put it on here.
Sometimes when I pick up my phone and try to unlock it nothing happens, fingerprint and button all the same it looks like it completely Off. Then i have to press few times a button to actually start it and it's booting. There is huge battery loss after it boot up. See image.
I am in Stock 4.0.2 no root just few standard apps installed. Nothing fancy. This happend already few times to me. I left the phone locked and when I want to unlock its dead. Also it is behaving weirdly, when I turn it off manually I just need to press longer a button and it's turning on, but here I need to press it few times to work.
Does it happen to anyone else?

Honestly, there's not enough information to understand exactly why it's happening. You need to get a logcat in the time before the reboot; unfortunately, logcats get erased during a reboot so it might be a little tricky getting it if the reboot is seemingly random. Someone had posted this as a possible way of getting the log:
"Retrieving the logs is tricky, since the log cache gets erased on reboot. If the phone reboots even while sitting on a charger, try running adb logcat continuously (you will need Android SDK and USB drivers installed and configured on your PC.) When the phone reboots, look at the last several pages in the command prompt window for any errors or abnormalities."

Otherwise, it's hard for anyone to help. I'm not much help in actually figuring out the issue, but I know if you can get the log, someone else probably can help.

Yeah I was trying to connect it to PC but nothing, so it is turned off. I will try next time to run command when turning on, maybe there will be something but I do not see it working before it gets erased. I was hoping that anyone else is having this problem so it might be rom related. It is completely random so you can;t guess when it happens.
I had it only few times so it's not super annoying but still it is not normal behavior. In addition it is weird that battery went from 55% to 33%, just phone reboot will not drain that much... I hope there is nothing wrong with the phone itself.

Check in advanced to see if schedule off is on
Nope it's off
Happened to me to on 4.0.2. Rebooted twice a day.
Solution to me was Qualcomm flash back to stock 3.5.1 and uodate from internal to 3.5.4. OTA 4.0.2.
The theard "how to unbrick".
Not one reboot until now in days.
I think I found a culprit responsible for it. It is Hill Climb 2 game which doesn't close properly sometimes and I think it causes some kind of crash in the system. Is it possible?

It's possible. Not necessarily the reason, but it might be. Either uninstall the app or freeze it using Titanium. Greenify might also work, but that allows the app to start itself up and potentially continue the issue. See if that stops the crashes for a couple of days.
The problem is that it doesn't happen often and only when I quit the game and lock the phone immediately after that. I am not sure if that's a reason though, just guessing because it happens after this last time. I will uninstall this game anyway, it's just time eater

Screen issue

Im facing an issue with my device, probably software but i'm not sure.
Sometimes, when i click on each application, device will behave oddly. Display freezes at same position where i click, nothing happens but after a moment is device confused. It starts clicking randomly, f.e i click on Facebook Messanger, it will pop up application, then i click on some message but it start to open other mesaages, doing random calls etc. If i tried get back with back arrow or home button, it get me to the launcher or back to messanger. Then i try restart phone obviously, but restart button does not work, i feel like it register click somewhere else.
Anyone got the same? I did factory reset, update to 10.0 but nothing changed. I've never did any software intervention like unlocking bootloader or flashing any custom rom.
Thanks
Haven't experienced any of these on my mi9 lite, might be hardware issue. Does it happen only when charging? Asking because back when I had the mi5 it behaved like that when I was using it while charging with a particular charger from ali if the phone had a case on.
Those symptoms you mentioned are more akin to a hardware problem. You might want to consider resetting your phone and locking the bootloader. Then you should RMA your device by sending it back. If is still under warranty then you should be able to get it fixed or replaced.
