Good day.
I need help and I'm only a newbie.
My phone doesn't boot past the logo.
An error appears on top: "Cannot do normal boot. Invalid kernel length".
After searching the net, I've tried flashing stock rom with Odin 3.14.1 and this firmware: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-a30/firmware/SM-A305GN/XTC/#SM-A305GN (I understand this is the latest one)
But it fails after cm.bin (see log below)
Code:
<ID:0/007> Odin engine v(ID:3.1401)..
<ID:0/007> File analysis..

I attached the screenshot of what I was trying to do.
Phone model: SM-A305GN

Please advice on what to do next.

Download the latest stock firmware for your device model, and extract from it the file called hidden.img, rename that file as hidden.img.tar Now open Odin and try to install the firmware you downloaded, when you see the error in Odin, load the file hidden.img.tar on AP and flash it. Now turn on the phone and wait around 5 minutes, it should boot up.
Please note that this will only work if the error shown in Odin is:
hidden.img
FAIL!
I bought the phone from a friend and now it is giving me this error:

I'm trying to flash pie on to it and I'm using the files from the main thread. Any ideas why the error is happening or how I could fix it?
Thanks

Wassup Doctor_slim,
Generally when you recieve an error at abl, it means you are attempting to flash firmware with the incorrect boot loader version.
Do you mind posting your current Baseband Version?
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
"main thread" is very general.
what exact phone do you have?
what exact files are you flashing?
did you read carefully about:
-using Odin and diferent versions (regular and patched)
-which device you have and its current firmware
-what is your intentions appart from just flashing pie.( u or u1 firmware? and latest pie build? or some random old build?)
if you search and read about the above topics, you'd probably succeed.
When I try to flash my phone I get errors like
1.

Here's the problem. It's impossible to downgrade to firmware with lower bootloader version. However, it is possible if you unlock your bootloader, flash custom recovery and then flash your Oreo through TWRP/OrangeFox.
