Can someone work on building pixel experience or lineage... RR for s20fe ....
In my experience it would make this device a real flagship
both PE and Lineage have been built for the 5G but the guys working on them can't get SIM cards to be detected after months of trying. they've taken a break from it.

I wanted to learn how to port roms. I was looking around and one website mentioned that both phones should be of similar specs. Did that mean that every spec should be same (like RAM, processor, etc) ? Can I port a OnePlus 3 ROM into my OnePlus 3t? Can I port a Pixel XL ROM to the 3t?
It's possible to make a OnePlus 3 ROM work on a OnePlus 3T with a little bit of effort. This is known as a unified ROM and is what Sultanxda did to his CM13 ROM. The Pixel XL is a totally different device, though. There's no way you're going to make a ROM work on both of those devices.

Thanks for replying. But I'm not talking about making a ROM work for both Pixel and 3T. I maybe misunderstood what porting means. I want to take a Pixel XL ROM and make it work in my 3T with a little editing of the ROM
What is the point? We have a growing number of fully official and hybrid ROMs on here and will just end up having more as time passes. Why not learn on building fresh?
I'm considering buying this phone if the developers build roms and other custom stuff for it.
Will there likely be a good amount of development done for this phone? There isn't much now... Is that just because it's so new? Or will the pixel 5 have much more attention?
I've been reading the Pixel 4a threads and some things on reddit to see if developers are planning on making their Roms available for the 5G version and apparently they are. I'm specifically waiting for Resurrection Remix as they say it is excellent on the Pixel 4a, from what I read they will be working on it. One of the issues they're ironing out is going from Android 10 to Android 11. I wish I had the knowledge to do it myself, I'd be working on that and creating a custom recovery right now, I just don't have the skills to do it.
I suspect that there would be a good bit more involvement in the near future considering the recent sales of the 4A 5G.
I figure there will be the normal amount if not more with it being a fairly affordable 5G phone. The ROMs will come, they always do, but patience is needed as it does take some time.
I think Bramble is wonderful device with great potential for custom roms, we need to wait. Fingers crossed for GrapheneOS support.
So we have it on pixel 2 now, I think the p5 would also benefit from some of pixel experiences ROM features. More so when the plus version is released.
Is pixel experience being worked on for p5??

You have it on the Pixel 2 now because updates have stopped for that device. Maybe the Pixel Experience ROM will come to the 5 in three years when updates are over.
Hi,
so do you actually recommend the Asus Zenfone with LineageOS? Like if you compare it to other phones with LineageOS, is Zenfone 8 a good choice if you aim to use the Phone solely with LineageOS? Are there any major bugs, drawbacks? Is there like a list of known issues and broken functionalities?
Do you know anything about the plans for the future? I have seen that only Lineage OS 18.1 is available, is it planned to support LineageOS 19 and future versions?
When I bought my Sony Z1C a long time ago, development was very active before I got my phone, but literally just as I bought it, development stopped and I was stuck with CyanogenMod 11 (KitKat) and bugs. Huge disappointment. I want to avoid that.
Lineage 18 is almost flawless on ZF8, add gcam only
Would like to know the results for anyone using LineageOS 20 on the Redmi Note 9. Any issues with installation or usage? Mine has NFC and since it's close to its EOL, it would be nice to extend its useful life with a reliable custom ROM.
Well, the only long time maintained (Official) ROMs were Project Elixir and Pixel Plus UI which both lost the support by the end of January this year after the PE 3.4 Android 13 release. Following the Unofficial distributions has 0 support by the devs and they always involve risks. LineageOS never had an official support for merlin devices. This seems like the end for this failed phone. Why failed? Well, the MediaTek has a bad reputation overall and this phone just confirms it how crappy their chipsets are. From random freezes to lost partitions. The only solution I probably see is to flash the stock original MIUI 12.0.1 the phone shipped with in 2021 and just buying a new phone or a used Samsung older flagship if you still want to use custom ROMs and have the latest features. It's definitely not worth buying another Xiaomi phone and then throw it away after 2-3 years because it already lost the official support and the modding community.
