Hello,
I have been wanting to try out this new feature called PC Connect.
PC Connect
connect.oppo.com
I cannot install the software on any of my available Laptops. It wants me to update my network adapter but there are no new updates available anymore. I have to say that they are already a few years old. One being an XPS 13 from 2016 with windows 11.
I read about this coming feature on this article:
OPPO launches PC Connect, a new computer/smartphone link for ColorOS 12
OPPO had hinted at a "PC Connect" feature to be introduced alongside its latest UI for smartphones, ColorOS 12. Now, this new facility has officially been launched. This "seamless" syncing, sharing and workflow app for compatible Android devices and computers will not actually be released until...

If someone makes it work I would love to hear about the experience.

No, sorry. No suggestions came and probably just having a more recent PC is the only solution.

I can install. However, can't find the Multi-screen icon as shown in the welcome screen to turn it on from my phone
Okay, got it to work by using "Scan to connect", it got me to open a link, then call some hidden feature from the phone, then connect really quickly.
First thing is to mirror my phone on my laptop as below

According to the second article you need an APK to make it work on the phone.
Any update on this? I've tried using it on my PC but the connection is absolutely trash. I can connect my Find X5 Pro for about a minute before it disconnects. I have my phone and PC right next to my WiFi router but the communication is not very good.

Check your network adapter and download its latest driver from the provider. I experienced the same issue. In my system, I had intel® dual band wireless-ac 8265 N/W adapter. so I downloaded the latest version from the intel website and PC connect was appropriately installed.
I've Find X5 Pro and I'd like to install PC Connect on my laptopo Win. 10 but it seems impossible find the Original OPPO App.
I find the https://connect.oppo.com/en-US but click on Download never appen.
I'm asking if someone has others link where to download the App for PC Windows 10
Thank You!!!

Hello, Access must first be enabled on your device before you can make use of it. In the search box located on the taskbar, enter "remote help." Next, from the list of results that appears, pick the option that says "Allow Remote Assistance invites to be issued from this computer." Pick the check box that reads Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer, and after that, select OK from the menu that appears on the Remote tab.

Recently some of the system dumps from the upcoming Motorola Sholes/Tao/Droid hit the Developer community, and they have been trying to piece the puzzle together of what the Motorola Sholes/Tao/Droid is all about. We got our hands on a new app which looks like it will be front and center when the device finally hits the shelves, Motorola Phone Portal.
Those that remember using the Motorola Phone Tools app to hack their Motorola’s back in the day (I’m getting all “Ahmad – Back in the Day” about my v600, v810, and RAZR) will instantly recognize this little gem, but it’s been updated for Android and provides some pretty cool functionality. Basically, Motorola Phone Tools (MPP) serves as an all-in-one phone manager that allows users to easily view, edit, create, delete, and play their contacts, ringtones, photos, wallpaper, and media. The key difference now is, the app is web-based and you log into your phone from directly from your browser! No installing “modems” and drivers on your Windows machine (painful), just fire up the app and press the “Connect with Wi-Fi button. When you press the button, the app prompts you to either turn on Wi-Fi, or connect over USB. For this experiment, I chose Wi-Fi.
MPP lets you add/edit/delete/browse your contacts, photos, bookmarks, browser history, and media in an easy-to-use interface. Playing media directly from the device in the browser worked very well, and the picture viewer/slideshow feature is pretty damn cool. So with MPP you’ll be able to play/show-off your media anywhere from any browser. If Moto adds a Social/Sharing aspect to this, they will have a winner on their hands.
So there you have it kids, a little taste of what’s to come with the Sholes/Tao/Droid. The original Moto Phone Tools was a pretty handy app (when it worked), and the new MPP looks to be just as functional, if not more so. I am sure it will help a lot of users manage their contacts/media/content when it gets released, and the ability to do slideshows and play media from your device directly from your browser is pretty slick. I hope Moto adds more features and functionality to it as time goes on, but this seems like a sign of good things to come. Grab the .apk file below and play away!

This is a cool little phone manager app that works really well with Hero and G1. It's an app that runs a webserver from your phone that you can access over Wifi from any browser on the same network.
It allows you to:
* view/add media on your phone
* view your call log
* read and send sms from the browser
* and more!
Works with any OS - anything with a browser should work. Only works over wifi with Hero, no USB connection is possible it seems.
I replaced as much Motorola branding as I could and replaced it with HTC stuff to make it a nicer experience for HTC fanboys
Download HTCportalv2:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/vpbxzo
Changelog
v2 - Changed more Moto references to HTC
Now if only this would let me control music playback.
Still, looks super, and nice to be able to manage over wi-fi instead of usb
You mean playback music on your pc from your phone? Hmm, I think it does allow that!
But I'm at work at the moment without wi-fi so can't confirm..
I think it lets you pull files, so you could listen on your pc, but I want to control my phone from my pc.
Basically, my stereo is the other side of my room from my desktop, and I'm lazy so if I could just play music from my pc, through the phone, into my amp, then I wouldn't have to get up
Also, I wonder if this means we can send files over wi-fi to web-enabled phones?
Have you tried it out yet? I can't give it another go until I'm home, but I thought that was possible. Look at the quote:
So with MPP you’ll be able to play/show-off your media anywhere from any browser.

You can certainly run a slideshow on your pc, from the photos on your phone. Pretty sure music is playable too. Give it a go
As for sending files, yes you can, but I think you might be restricted to media files.
How can I get it work with usb?
Not sure if that's possible, I was trying too. If you turn off wifi and try to connect it says it can connect over usb too, but I couldn't get it to connect. That might only work on a Motorola phone. Everything works over wifi though
That is awesome!!
This app is awesome!!!
Everyone should check it out!!!!
Nice work Pookie!
Cool, glad you like it!
I checked out the music thing, it lets you browse the music you have on your SD card, and you can click to play, but it plays the music on your phone instead of on the computer. That's what you wanted right Branwen?
Here's another screenshot:
Looks like a great app but I can't conect in my browser, anybody els having troble

same network, can see phone and pc in the ip list in my router.
Tryed to disable my firewall and got the same thing.
Runing modaco 2.5.1 core
I really can't think what could be causing it apart from some kind of issue with your network/ports/firewalls
For mine, at the initial setup it would not work at all when I clicked the start for wifi connection. It was only after I unplug my usb cable did it work...or I might had a huge lag.

I'm using 2.5.1 too and it works fine...
Are you sure you're wifi is enabled?
Have you tried pinging the IP address from your PC's command prompt?
If you can't even ping it you'll know it's a firewall/port issue...
This was cool! Thanks for your effort!

im having the same issues in general with my hero: my laptop and the hero are connected to the same wifi network, both work fine, but they don't see each other. no ping, no ssh, no http no nothing. from my cable connected (to the wifi router) pc, everything works just splendid. i actually blame either my router (fritzbox, but some lowend version) or my laptop/ubuntu on my laptop for this behaviour, but i actually never investigated in that. whenever i want to connect from my laptop to my phone i hop via my pc, works fine.
It looks like quite a good contact manager also.
And yeah this is just what I wanted for music playback!
Hi,
This is my first post on the forum, but I often read it, nice job!!
The subject is very explicit, does anybody knows if there is Kies for Mac?, or maybe in a future?
TIA.
Jesus.
that's a tough one....
you'll be better off running the windows emulation to get kies installed in your Mac
truth is... you are not missing anything by not installing Kies
i don't even use Kies
i did install it, but after finding out what it does, i've no use for it
except to check for official firmwares
but we have so many firmwares available from samsung firmwares.com that it has become totally useless to me
all my syncing is done via my gmail account
and music/video is just drag and drop direct to the phone
i'm sure they will release a Mac version in the near future.

Apple is notorious for blocking Syncs. Palm Pre initially was able to sync, Apple updated software to block then -> Palm created a workaround -> Apple block -> it might have repeated after that.
I doubt there is an official way to natively, and seamlessly sync via iTunes. Some 3rd party software...maybe, still no guarantees.
@OP, you can look into doubletwist, it has a very iTunes look/feel to it, will allow you to sync Podcasts, Music & Android Apps (sorry, no video AFAIK):
Main Page: http://www.doubletwist.com/dt/Home/Index.dt
Mac download link: http://www.doubletwist.com/dt/Download/DownloadMac.dt
if the goal is to Sync the music you have purchased in iTunes to your SGS phone, then it's rather simple
just download all the music off iTunes to your hard drive, and use a AC3 or MP3 converter to remove the Digital Right Management, then you can use the music on any device you want

Part of the reason why I hate Apple. Seriously what did they get by doing that? If you don't want to officially support syncing with other devices, don't. But intentionally blocking it is evil and unethical. /off-topic

hello i`m from Brazil, I bought my i9000 and outdoor kies not appear for me to buy the apps, says it does not support the country in which I am.
Sorry my english.
Downloaded Kies today from samsungmobile.co.uk and got hold of copies of XP (with SP3) and Parallels 6 and VMFusion. Runs under Leopard no problem on Parallels 6 but could not get it to work with VMFusion. Don't ask where I got the copies - seek and you will find.
I want it for Linux.
Top tip...
Don't try upgrading your firmware using Parallels 6.
Kies got to the switch to install mode (yellow screen on 'phone warning you not to disconnect) and at this point it seems that Parallels can't see the USB driver any more when the 'phone is in recovery mode...
It's possible if I had fiddled around in Win7 device manager uninstalling and re-plugging the 'phone it might have worked, but I gave up and used a PC.
Oh and of course I had a moment of panic that I would break the 'phone disconnecting it, but pressing and holding the power got it back again.
You can't really blame Parallels, as I have had all sorts of problems getting a working USB driver on two different PCs that would let Odin see the 'phone.
Aren't Samsung drivers so reliable and east to use
If your Samsung is running Windows Mobile or Android OS take a look at SyncMate - it allows syncing devcies running these OSs with Mac for free

Hi Guys,
I just posted my first App the Android Market (so please be nice) & thought I would let you guys know
It's called UDPro (UDP Pro) - Info copied from the Android Market
Remotely control your Windows PC from your phone.
Features included at the moment are:
1) Control Windows Media Player
2) Send a popup message
3) Lock PC
4) Log Off PC
5) Shutdown PC
6) Reboot PC
7) Hibernate PC
8) Sleep PC
9) Real Commands - Like running from cmd.exe - Pro Version
10) Multiple Computers - Pro Version
11) Added Custom Commands - Need to added to on the PC App
12) Wake on LAN
13) Change PC Volume
14) Take a screenshot of each monitor & send them via email to your desired email address (configured in the Windows App)
All information is encrypted (emails included if you use a ssl compatible smtp server)
You need to run an application on your Windows PC - It can be obtained here http://www.minooch.com/udpro/setup.exe
It has been tested on Windows 7 & Windows XP - You need to have at least .NET 3.5 (http://www.microsoft.com/net)
It will be minimised to the system tray when opened
By default the password on the Windows app is not set
Please make sure you open port 29000 (UDP) (The port can be changed) on your PC (if you're running a firewall). If your wanting to use it over the Internet, I suggest you obtain a static IP Address or signup with dyndns.org (obviously port forwarding would be required)
You may also need to open an additional port to be able to send emails (the port will vary depending on your smtp (email out server) server)
If you have any ideas please let me know
Works for 2.2+

Any other reason why you named it "UDPro" aside from the fact that it uses UDP?

in case you want it the other way around: control Android via Windows PC:
use MyPhoneExplorer !
Make the exact same thing except work over Bluetooth. I came from SE phones and symbian/Nokia so I miss salling clicker.
Add text message notifications, and if at all possible, respond to texts. Phone notifications of who's calling, of course both of these would be on the computer.
But yeah Bluetooth support would be sick!

Hello
I have the latest version available via OTA A_1.18.26 and Android Auto is not working.
Follow the bug when giving permission to floating windows preventing the installation of the app.
Through ADB you can give the permission and Android Auto works on the device but it has not yet managed to establish the connection with the vehicle.
I don't know if anyone has managed to make it work.

We are a little ahead but Android Auto still does not work and it is not certain that a patch will arrive.
I think the only hope would be to unlock the root and load the global rom with Funtouch OS

Good Morning
Can you explain how you made me connect with the car?
In the CN version with Origin OS, Jovi in Car was established, which is the Chinese alternative to Android Auto, but the latter still does not work.
There is no floating window permission that you can give by running ADB but the device freezes when connection with the vehicle is established.
Thanks
I actually have Funtouch OS running. So maybe this issue is OriginOS specific.
You should consider reaching out to them.

Understood
Thanks
Android Auto works correctly in global versions with Funtouch OS.
Not the case for Chinese versions with Origin OS.
I think that for this and other problems the only solution is to flash global rom, although if to date it is not possible in pro +, I think it will be impossible in pro not + since the Chinese version has an exynos 1080 processor and four cameras behind including the periscope lens while the global version comes with snapdragon 870 and triple rear camera. Greetings
Hello, I have an Iqoo 5, before I had Funtouch but Origin os was updated, in funtouch it worked fine but now it doesn't, it occurred to me if for example you could force somehow to accept that window, I don't know if it can be done with SetEdit or some adb command.
It's officially confirmed that android auto app is discontinued
Now that I stupidly upgraded to Android 12 on my Pixel, I can no longer use AA on my phone. For those who don't know, Google replaced AA's phone mode with Maps' "driving mode", which is a portrait-only mess of mostly-useless widgets. My car is never going to be able to have real Android Auto, so I'm stuck with phone mode, which has worked great for years.
Anyone know what would be involved in getting an older APK for run on Android 12? Or hacking the current version to show the phone mode UI again?
I have a similar problem. I've also upgraded to android 12 so I can't use Android auto anymore. After updating it did launch at first but I guess it auto updated to a version that disabled it on Android 12. So it seems that android 12 can run it just fine.
I'm perfectly willing to try out the new driving mode but I'm living in the Netherland which is not a supported county at the moment.
So google basically removed a feature I used every day without providing me with an alternative.
So I'm hoping there will be modified asks that will skip the android 12 check or some way to enable driving mode In unsupported countries. I don't mind driving in portret mode (I'll take anything at the moment), but would prefer landscape.
I found an interesting workaround in running the Headunit Reloaded app in Self Mode.
Seems to work fine on Android 12 .
It provides the same interface that build in Android Auto car units would have, so it differs a bit from the mounted phone version.
Search the forum for more information.
It's a paid app though.
I think many have this issue with AA car mode. I'm in the UK and have this issue also my poco F1 won't allow AA to backdate an install without root.
All I want is for the 0hone AA to show calendar entries and weather would be awesome. I loved the original AA but it's very dull on current phones.
Can anyone help or assist with a custom apk or know of one, that can be installed normally and work as it used too. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
can you uninstall AA and reinstall with older version?
They have cardashdroid. I'm still on eleven and this morning after the last aa update I seen it looked like aa aiontweaker was not working anymore or at least I didn't have split screen. I'm on OnePlus 9 pro and haven't updated because I didn't want to lose some features.

Hi thanks for the question, no an unrooted Poco F1 won't let you uninstall or back date to an older app.
I've tried the AA for screens but it doesn't do calender entries, so I have to input all the time where I'm going and weather isn't there, although not critical, I did love this feature.
It's just a blank screen and even texts aren't read now, so it's killed the app for driving. Older cars in the UK don't have onboard screens and I'd rather use the phone for traffic updates than an bad sat nav.
Itnwasnonce a great app but not anymore.
So any chance of customising the app for these basic functions would be great.

Also, I don't think an older APK will help. It seems to be a server side switch. My Android Auto continued working right after upgrading to 12, but after a couple of hours, it quit working and redirects to the "no longer supported" screen. I think we'd need to spoof the Android version somehow, which is something I can't begin to guess at how to do.
That's a shame I was hoping that at least the calendar could be integrated, I noticed that in permissions calandar is disabled, other permissions are allowed. So I was assuming that if the permission could be enabled that calendar entries could appear if encoded to display etc. I didn't think it was all server based as why would they remove the permission?
Just a thought anyway.

Guys, what about running AA on Android 10? I was using aa for phone screens on my huawei p30 and it just stopped working without any update
Yep ggogle have basically stopped any alterations or updates on my phone's to AA. So it's a dead duck it water I can't even use Waze as an alternative!
If a modded AA could be created, with local weather and calender shown that would be great, and the option of Waze again.

How are you running 'Self Mode' on an Android 12 phone? Mine doesn't seem to work when I try to start it
That being said the only workaround I've found is to use another phone (Android <12) as the master by turning ON hotspot, open HUR on the Android 12 phone and click the wifi icon

Maybe you still need to "Start head unit server" in the Android Auto app?
I only found out about it after taking the time to read the instructions
You first need to enter developer mode:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After that you have a new menu option:
Follow. I really miss old AA for phone screens. New driving mode assistant is ****
What a despicable move by Google.
I upgraded S21 ultra from Android 11 to Android 12, worst mistake ever.
Apart from losing Android Auto for phone screens, I dont even have option for driving mode assistent.
What absolute bull****, taking a working product away, and making driving more unsafe.
No 3rd party solution comes near.
Would be so gratefull if someone found a workaround/hack to get AA for phone screens working again.

I did that, I always turn ON 'Headunit Server' , it's one of the pre-requisites to make HUR work
I have no idea then, #WorksOnMyDevice
So if goovle are crippling AA for phone users, are there any working good alternatives out there as I haven't found a simple talk to sat Nav linked to waze or Google maps, with text and voice answering hands free.
Most of the apps are crippled by Google so there's nothing out there that seems to give a decent stab at a navigation solution with calls and text response facility.
Any advice on this would be appreciated

There is no good alternative. There are a couple of apps like Automate or whatever it is called now, but they are truly terrible compared to AA. Google have been updating "driving mode" over the last six months, but true to form they have only made it worse. This week it removed the one icon I had to use to launch the music player and replaced it with SIX icons to random podcasts I have never heard of, about subjects I have no interest in.
Every single day when I get in my car, I hate Google more.

Try Roav Viva (radio connection) or Alexa (bluetooth/aux/USB connection) car adapters, they plug into the 12-volt accessory plugs and have always on microphones and wind canceling software.
