Question MI 11 is not charging by USB (wireless charge is fine) - Xiaomi Mi 11

Hello,
I I get the mi11 5G 8 month ago and everything was ok since yesterday.
My phone didn't want to charge anymore with any cable (official 65w charger included) i try 3 different cable and adapter USB type C and the charge is not coming up.
I connect the phone on computer and i get this message also : usb error "The devices is unknow need more power "
The wireless charge is working hopefully. Since my phone is under warranty i just want your advice before to conlude to send for rma.
Any advice?
-already try :
cable change
adapter change
pc or different power outlet
clean the usb type c of the phone with toothpick
Thank you

This sounds more like a hardware failure, such as usb type-c failure or cable failure.
Since your mi11 5G is still under warranty, it is recommended to contact a nearby customer service.

Thanks ! yes i will and also think that is hardware issue

Phone not charging.

The USB micro slot doesnt work anymore, i have a generic uk rom but i havent reverted the hard spl, will it matter?
if hardreset don't do anything I would suspect a hardware issue
I had exactly the same issue:

Send it to SE they eventually gave me a replacement through Vodafone, I advise not to go through the main dealer just go DIRECT to SE.
First off, unless you have an X2 try using a Mini-USB cable instead ... .
That's true, based on Jasand's case check if you are able to connect through USB and see if it is detected.
If not try a different cable (if you have one) and a different USB port + rebooting the computer - all just incase.
By the way, does a red light come up under the power button when it is plugged in?
If this doesn't help contact SE or your carrier for warranty support. If you have no warranty support, or while waiting, you could charge your phone with a generic Li-Ion/Polymer charger such as this: Universal USB Lithium-Ion Battery Charger (~$2 USD) and transmit data (if needed) via bluetooth (there are $3 USD USB dongles out there if you need it).
Hope that helps,
Peter

QI wireless adapter won't charge phone anymore - XZ1 compact

Hi all,
I have an XZ1 compact (Model G8441 non-root) that I'm very happy with, but I can't get it to charge wirelessly.
I bought an adapter with a USB-C plug and it worked to charge the phone at first, but it suddenly stopped working after a few charges.
I figured I had a fault with either the wireless receiver that plugs into the phone or the charger pad.
I tested the receiver via a micro-USB adapter on my old Z5 compact and it charges fine. I also bought another charger pad, and it also won't work on this phone.
When the phone is on the charger pad, the indicator on the pad recognises that something is there and goes from green to blinking red as if charging, but nothing happens on the phone.
If the phone is completely switched off, all I get is a blinking green LED on the phone.
I've tried it with the case on and off.
There have been three updates since I got the phone a few weeks ago. Is it possible that an Oreo software update has broken the low power charging somehow?
Obviously I've rebooted the phone, but I haven't done a factory reset.
I'd appreciate any help you could offer.
You could indeed try downgrading the phone to determine if it's a firmware/software issue or a hardware issue.

I'm confused. The XZ1 Compact doesn't have wireless charging. What did you buy to wirelessly charge it? Something that plugs into the USB port and then sits on a wireless charger?

Yes, I bought a wireless adapter with a USB-C plug that connects to the phone & lays against the back of the phone inside the case. You then place it on a wireless charging pad.
I've done the same thing with several other phones & never had a problem.
Didn't see it explicitly mentioned, did you try using a different USB-C adapter cable? Since the micro USB cable works, we can safely assume the pad's fine. But I didn't see you cross test another type c cable.
Solved
Hi all,
I managed to fix the problem by replacing the QI receiver attached to the phone with a new one.
Strange that the old one worked if I connected it to a different phone via an adapter (and that it worked to begin with on my phone).
It must have had a problem where it couldn't output enough voltage to charge my new phone, but had enough to charge the old one.
Thanks for your help.

What I had changed was the charger pad. I tried two different ones, a USB-C powered one and a micro USB powered one. Neither worked.
I have a new QI receiver on order.

If only "that" cable doesn't work with your note 8, then use another cable. Not really a big issue. Either the cable is somehow damage or it is somehow not compatible with your phone ,which shouldn't happen often.
If none of the cables work with your phone work assuming there is no associated software bug in your phone, then the charging port is damaged. It can be easily fixed luckily.

P30 Pro can't connect via USB and Fastcharge not working after firmware downgrade

Hİ all
11.0 firmwares were really terrible for my phone since it drained battery considerably and battery life was way worse compared to 10.1 or 10.0. Hisuite did not show an option to downgrade so I decided to use the Hiproxy method to downgrade my phone.
I successfully downgraded it from 11.0 to 10.0, it opened without an error and I'm using it without any problems except one. After the downgrade, my phone cannot connect to my computer via charging cable. It even doesn't show USB preferences on screen like file transfer, only charging etc. It just charging and doesn't prompt anything and because of that I cannot connect to Hisuite. Also when I plug it in to the charger, it does not fast charging. However when tried to use a USB-C to USB-C cable, it can connect to my computer and Hisuite as normal.
All of this happened after the downgrade. Do you think it's because of the cable or something happened to the usb-c port on the phone? It's really awkward since it was working normally before downgrading.
I just tried another usb charging cable and phone still not connecting to my laptop. When I use a regular usb cable, it just charges, nothing pops up on the phone and laptop doesn't see it. However when I try to connect it with a usb-c to usb-c cable (Spiegen) it connects and Hisuite pops up.
Any idea what could be the cause of this? It's really weird that it doesn't connect with a regular usb charging cable when it successfully connects and recognises with a usb-c to usb-c cable. I really don't want to send my phone to service center.
Also supercharging is not working. I'm okay with that but could it cause any problems to the phone?

Same thing happened to me. I had to upgrade it back to latest firmware to get the port working properly

Hi when you say USB c to USB c, how did you connect it to the PC? Does your pc have a USB C port?
The only way you can recover USB port function is to update the lastest fw.
I got the same problem with my Mate 20x. I dowgrade from 11.0.0.150 ( C636 ) to 10.0.x.x ( C432 ) and stuck there with only quick charge 18W ( No supercharge, no usb connection ). Then i used an Usg otg 3.0 with Transend brand to update from 10.0.x.x ( C432 ) to 10.0.x.x (C636) and then OTA back to 11.0.0.150. Now, everything is ok, just only battery life get worse than emui 10.
Having the same problem, only I don't know what caused it. Just bought the phone today. Super charging and headphones work, but phone only charges when connected to computers(tried 2), no other reaction. Fw is .159
The same problem here, the fats charge work but not connect to the pc after downgrade, any solution?
Letting it auto update seems the only way

Hi, how did you installed 11.0.0.150 back
Could do with knowing this too. Stuck on 10.1.0.179 and lost fast charging. Real pain I've got a nm memory card but can't find how to get back to emiu 11.

You need to use the modified USB cable, and also disassemble your phone to access the testpoint

Anker powerbank not charging my phone

Hy everyone! I have a weird problem: my Samsung S10 won't charge from my (new) Anker powerbank, although:
-the charging worked fine, but just once;
-the Anker powerbank CAN charge other phones;
-my S10 CAN charge from another powerbank (noname);
-I tried different cables, all the ports, same result;
-I cleared the USB cache from settings, but no result
-tried to reset the powerbank, same result.
Is there any way that I can still use my powerbank to charge my S10? What is causing this? Thank you!
It might be de to a specific protocol on the port? For example, USBC-PD is a protocol for power delivery that the receiving device must support... I don't think the S10 supports PD.
What's the model of the Anker charger?

Hy! The model is Anker Powercore III, 20 000 mAh. The weird thing is that yesterday it worked just fine. And I did not install any new apps (or updates) on the phone since then.
Ok, are you using the USB-A port for charging the S10, or are you trying to use the USBC port? USBA would work on the phone, C would likely not work.
Also, on some of my older phones, when a device was connected, the USB port would generate a popup asking how to handle the device... you may need to tell it to use it as a charge-only (versus a data connection like MTP or something)... it should know better, but maybe the phone is confused in some way.
