How to make galaxy s6 look like pure android [root],[xposed]

How to make your Galaxy S6 look like stock Android:
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Root Access (Go to ChainFire's CF Auto-Root repository and get yourself the cf auto-root .tar.md5 file (Galaxy S6: zeroflte))
2. Custom Recovery (TWRP preferably, but CWM and Philz will work the same)
3. Xposed Framework (Wanam did a very good job by porting Xposed to Samsung Lollipop/Marshmallow)
DOWNLOADS FOR REQUIREMENTS:
Link to CF Auto-Root repository: https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
Link to latest TWRP version for Galaxy S6: https://dl.twrp.me/zeroflte/twrp-3.0.2-1-zeroflte.img.tar.html
Link to Wanam's Xposed post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3180960
MAKING THE REQUIREMENTS WORK:
HOW TO ROOT YOUR GALAXY S6?
If you have the new Marshmallow 6.0.1 update just download the file and flash it trough Odin, it shouldn't be that hard.
But, if you have older Lollipop versions, please upgrade or the process may be different.
HOW TO INSTALL TWRP ON YOUR GALAXY S6?
The process is the same as rooting your Galaxy S6, just flash the file through Odin.
HOW TO INSTALL XPOSED ON YOUR GALAXY S6?
HUGE THANKS TO WANAM FOR PORTING XPOSED TO LOLLIPOP AND MARSHMALLOW
Now, the process is a little different. Boot in recovery and flash the zip. That's it.
If the phone takes ages to boot, it's normal, it's always like that.
LET'S MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF WHAT WE HAVE!
PART 1. --- INSTALLING GOOD LOCK UI

I'm sure most of your know what Good Lock is, unless you live under a rock.
Ok, I'll explain what it is. It's Samsung's official System UI replacement that looks way more like stock Android when tweaked.
So, how to install it, well, let's begin!
1. Go to: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsun...elease/good-lock-24-0-9-android-apk-download/ and click on the big purple DOWNLOAD button
2. Wait for the app to download and then install it
3. After the installation is done, you'll see a pop-up saying that you need to restart. Click OK
4. That's it for the Good Lock installation, now let's tweak it to look more like stock Android
5. Swipe from top to the bottom to bring up the notification panel, and click on the weird settings in a bubble icon
6. Click on Routines and then select default. That's the routine that we're gonna tweak.
7. Select the second last clock and click next. Select the fourth hexagon on the bottom and find a really dark purple then click next. Deselect all the options it provides you. Click on finish
8. Go back and click Advanced. Disable everything
9. Great. We now have a lighter version of stock notification panel!
THAT'S IT FOR NOW. IN THE POST TOMORROW I'LL MENTION THE HARDEST PART.
Part 2. --- huge debloatation
PART 2. --- HUGE DEBLOATATION
First, you're gonna need Debloater v3.90. You can download it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294
Then watch a tutorial on YouTube on how to use it properly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7OFGIu1f0I
Then Go ahead and see what apps I removed: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DIJ20q7bTL8ZGZS0ecl2FTxN-JH-t64R_vKM5L0aGAk/edit?usp=sharing
But, before you do anything: DON'T DO IT UNLESS YOU'VE INSTALLED A 3RD PARTY LAUNCHER!!! YOUR DEVICE MAY BE UNUSABLE!!!
So, first go to GPlay Store and install Nova Launcher. Since I bought the Prime version I get extra features (I advise you to do that, it's worth every penny). If you don't own a copy of Nova Launcher Prime, here's a link where you can find it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher.prime&hl=en
When you installed Nova Launcher and Nova Launcher Prime, we can get to work!
PART 2. --- HUGE DEBLOATATION
1. Go to the Google Docs link I provided.
2. Plug in your device and start debloating
3. Done! You can now unplug your device.
4. You may notice some differences, like, MOST OF THE APPS ARE GONE!
THAT'S IT FOR NOW. TODAY AFTERNOON I'LL POST ANOTHER PART!
Part 3. --- tweaking nova
PART 3. --- TWEAKING NOVA
Now that we have Nova Launcher installed, let's tweak it to look like stock Android.
1. Go to Desktop>Desktop grid and change the grid to 5x5, also enable Subgid positioning if disabled.
2. Go to Icon layout, change the Icon size to 125%, enable Label if disabled, Change the font to Condensed, set the Size to 2, change the color to White and enable both Shadow and Single-line.

12. Disable both Search bar and Pull to search and also disable Tab bar.
13. Enable Folders first and under Advanced disable everything.
14. Go to Dock, turn it on if disabled, go to Dock Background and disable it.
15. Go to Dock pages and set them to 1 and set the Dock icons to 5.
16. Go to Icon layout and change the Icon size to 125% and disable Label.
17. Set the Width padding to None, but set the Height padding to Medium and also disable Infinite scroll.
18. Under advanced disable everything.
19. Go to Folders and set the Folder preview to Line, change the Folder background to Circle, but if you prefer, you can change it to N Preview.
20. Under Window set the Transition animation to Circle, change the Background Color to White and set the Transparency to 0%.
21. Under Icon layout change set the Icon size to 125% and enable Label if disabled, change the font to Normal, Size to 2, Color to Black, and disable Shadow, but enable Single-Line.
22. Go to Look & feel and change the Icon theme to Marshmallow, enable Normalize icon size, set the Screen orientation to Default.
23. Set the Scroll speed and Animation speed to Nova and change the App animation to Reveal.
24. Enable both Show notification bar and Transparent notification bar, disable Dark icons, and disable Expand action using Root, also disable Search as overlay.
25. Go to Gestures and inputs and change the Home button to Default page, enable Only on default page, enable "Ok Google" hotword and change the Double tap to Screen Lock.

Part 5. --- messing around with xposed
PART 5. --- MESSING AROUND WITH XPOSED
Now that we have wanam's custom ported version of Xposed installed, let's make use of it.
!!!IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!
DON'T USE XPOSED INSTALLER APK UNLESS YOU HAVE A DEODEXED ROM!!!
!!!IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!
A common issue appears on Samsung's Marshmallow that keeps restarting your device every time you enable a module.
There's a workaround that can fix this. Simply don't use Xposed Installer app, instead use XDA Labs app.
Let's get right to it!
1. Install XDA Labs app, you can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=18297
2. Grant Root Access to it and go to Xposed tab.
3. Go to search and search for GravityBox [MM], install it.
4. Click on DONE and go back to XDA Labs app. It'll say that you need to restart to enable the module. Click on RESTART.
5. After you've restarted, open the GravityBox [MM] app.
6. Go to Navigation bar tweaks, and enable Master switch and Enable navigation bar.
7. Close the app and restart.
8. You'll see that now you have a navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
9. [OPTIONAL] You can disable Samsung's hardware navigation keys if you know how to do it.
THIS IS THE END OF OUR FIRST JOURNEY. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, JUST REPLY TO ME ON THIS THREAD, THAT WAY I CAN ANSWER FASTER.

Feeling generous, send me a beer!
Cool thanks for sharing.
When I change my icons with Pixel Launcher Mods the screen refreshes often and pulls up the last used app, which makes it very cumbersome to use my phone. So I disable "apply icons when app updates" which causes some icons to remain stock unless I force apply.....
Do you have this same issue. I like your icon pack, but if 2 of my home screen icons are stock it ruins everything for me.

Yes same issue, I set battery to not optimize the app and after a while it settles in. It still happens, just not as often as it did.
I just want to say thank you for doing this! Is it possible to have a 7x8 grid at all? That's what I use for my Lawnchair launcher, but I find the Pixel launcher is way less buggy and more smooth.

I've installed all the apks and the module. But when I click on either the command center app or the pixel launcher editor app it opens it like I went into the settings and clicked on apps; it doesn't actually launch the app it opens the app settings. Anyone else getting this or know why?

Command center is a widget so apply via widget menu (long press home). The editor is accessible via subtrantum. I recommend substratum lite. Look at instructions in post 2 for installing the overlays. Neither of the apps have a UI, so that's why it goes to app settings
Ok. I guess I'm just missing something. When I open the pixel launcher editor and make all the changes nothing sticks. I back out and go back in and everything is back to default. The instructions say to build the theme 3 times. I'm not sure how to do that. For someone who has never dealt with substratum before the instructions are kind of vague.

Awesome video instructions! Very clear and concise. Worked like a champ. Thanks!
Would it be possible to remove the top widget "at a glance" ?

[February 7, 2022] Pixel Tweaks for Pixel 5 with Color Picker

Pixel Tweaks
Looking for Android 12 Support? Click Here
Greetings
This is a combination of a Magisk module and Substratum Theme. I originally did this as means to give custom options to people who enjoy the Pixel Launcher and was planning to release on the Play Store. Since it required a modified Pixel Launcher via Magisk, I decided to release it to the public via XDA.
The Magisk module is needed in order for the options in the Substratum theme to install and function properly!

Q & A
Q: Will this mod work on other Pixel Devices?
A: Each Pixel device starting with Pixel 2 has its own thread. Please check in the corresponding device forums.
Q: There is no thread in the Pixel 3a or Pixel 3aXL forums, where can I find the mod for this device?
A: The mod is exactly the same as the one for the Pixel 3(XL), go there for download.
Q: There is no thread on the Pixel 4a or Pixel 4a 5g forums, is this compatible with those devices?
A: Unknown, I have no way of testing on those two devices. If you would like to become a tester send me a private message. You must know how to use ADB and willing to suffer force closures.
Q: When will this mod be compatible with the Pixel 4a and/or Pixel 4a 5g?
A: I need someone on the latest firmware for those devices to send me the Pixel Launcher apk. It is located in /system/system_ext/priv-app/NexusLauncherRelease/. Once this file is sent to me I will be able to make this mod compatible with those devices.
ayyy nice work!!
Nice work bro :good: great features!
Thank you for this. I just came from the Pixel 4, and was using your editor!

It works on the Pixel launcher and the framework. I have not been able to make it work on SystemUI. So your milage will vary with other sub themes, but for what this mod uses it works 100%
Works great on my Pixel 5, thanks for the app!
Great Work!
Finally one can easily customize pixel launcher now! Thanks a lot!
And a dumb feature request from me, can you add dynamic icon masking like on Lawnchair V2 and Hyperion to Pixel Launcher?
Don't mind me if what I am asking is impossible. I don't know how launcher3 or things work .

There is an app for that already but currently broken on Pixel 5 (worked on p2-4 even on android 11). I already let the dev of that app know. Hopefully he will update it. If he does I'll link to his thread.

Looks like custom icons are working again. Check post above or 2nd post for link.
I've noticed an oddball issue after applying a theme. The overlay theme I created is for a 5x6 grid with the Google Search removed. Once that gets applied and I reboot, I'm not able to add correctly sized widgets. When I go to add a widget (weather, google search, color note, etc) it adds a row to the widget size. For example, the (normally) 5x1 google search widget gets listed as 5x2, and takes up 2 rows on the home screen after adding it, and it can't be resized to only be a height of one row.

The app that is linked two posts above yours has the ability to resize widgets! That's what I use.
Some screenshots of the resize widget part
that worked, thanks!
Some things are brewing! Will simplify the install process and it includes a color picker!

Android 12 beta 5 "live space" doesn't show temperature

Hi! I update my pixel 5 to beta 5 but the Pixel Launcher doesn't show temperature. I see that other devices can show It probably flag something. Can anyone help me to fix?

It's gone for now. Hopefully it will come back in the release version.
I have noticed that my P5 has been much more sensitive to temperature on the beta 5. It never overheated on A11, so I'm hoping this won't be a thing with A12.
i've enabled the new weather widget as shown in:
Here's a look at the Assistant weather widget in the Google App
Ahead of the Android 12 public release, we have spotted evidence of a brand new Assistant weather widget. Here's what it looks like.
www.xda-developers.com
but it still wont solve the live space weather issue
if you are rooted you can enable this receiver in google app = "com.google.android.apps.search.assistant.verticals.snapshot.widgets.weather.WeatherWidget_Receiver"
edit: after google update, now widget support material ui colors..
edit 2: added the new pill widget, receiver:
"com.google.android.apps.search.assistant.verticals.snapshot.widgets.weather.FreeFormWeatherWidget_Receiver"

Question Dynamic colours in Google's apps

After latest updates of Google's apps they stop support colour palette on One UI 4. Every updated app is blue-themed by default from now. Have anyone similar problem?
