Wonder can anyone help.. This seems like the biggest difficulty ever. Transferring WhatsApp backup from Iphone to Android. Apple ecosystem is working tremendously hard to prevent you moving from Apple to Android. Its been already a week of trying to solve this issue.
I have finally found a 3rd party app that can migrate Iphone back up then convert into Android format and then restore. ( This switch option is currently only available to Samsung user in free format.I guess Samsung ecosystem is also fighting this issue hard to win people over)
The problem I have, 11T pro file transfer is ridiculously slow. I need to move 6gb of WhatsApp messages and no matter what I do or PC I use ( Mac/Laptop or pc) 11T pro will cancel the transfer always around half way. It just disconnects. Even if I use directly connected USB drive, same thing.
Im slowly starting to regret this idea of going back to android.. Or maybe 11T pro is just a crap phone.. Which all tells me that apart from a good Snapdragon and fast battery charger, everything else is poo..
Help appropriated! Thank you

is there anyway to run complex games on the mobile platform? guess since it is not a comonplace application it does not warrent a place other than trash.
my question is... can a mobile phone handle the large files that some internet games use.
i am playing a game called EVONY, it uploads like 3 to 4 mega bits every time i sign on and i assume it is going into ram on my pc. is there any way my phone could do this?
my friend was over tonight and he has win mobile. touch pro 2, he could not connect. i could not either, but usb tether threw my laptop could.
any one.... ?
Despite the fact these "smart phones" go for the same price as desktops, no. And the only device close to having anywhere near enough internal storage for it would be that Apple phone.
And Ram wise, well that's just a big joke when I think about the g1's lack of it.

lol, i know. i could carry my lat top and tether it with my phone. i know it is improbable. but imposable?
Not entirely sure what you're asking.
But you can tether your 3g/edge/internet connection from your phone to your p.c. if you have root and the proper application.
As long as you have a fast 3g connection you can acess the internet and do whatever your browser allows you to on your laptop. I've been on pandora, myspace, xda, android sites, etc etc etc with tethering.
PLayed a few games but it might get a little shotty when recieving texts and such.
I think you're confusing a few things up.
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evony
System requirements: ADOBE FLASH 10
That would be your problem.
Uploading 3 or 4 megabits (i.e. 500 kB) has nothing to do with "going into ram".
The phone hardware, as far as I can tell, meets the system requirements of the program you are looking at running, except maybe fitting the UI onto the screen (since the screen is very small on a phone): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/30/Evonyscrshot.PNG
And judging by the screenshot, I would guess that the game is similar to warcraft (i.e. older version 1, 2 from the mid 90's). Not particularly complex and certainly not beyond the phone's hardware since those old versions of warcraft ran on desktop computers significantly less powerful than these phones are.
FYI: the ability of android to run this game may be approaching if adobe ever gets their fingers out of their butts and delivers what they have promised -- flash 10 on android. Apple phone will NOT EVER be able to run this game since apple has basically refused to allow adobe to do flash for ifony.

Hi everyone!
I recently switched to WP (Lumia 520) and I'm pretty happy about it (especially in terms on smoothness...).
Obviously the main issue is the app-store but so far I got everything I want!
However I'm still looking for a AirDroid like app. It's not much about the file management (even though it's a real please to connect you phone trough wifi and browse everything) but more about texting and calling. I'd like to be able to send messages from my computer, manage my contact and maybe give calls. Using the phone services (that's the point).
If anyone knows anything that I could use, I'll be grateful!
App
Initially, in matter of access to files on WP you don't have a lot of access both by phone or PC using cable, but has an app that can aid in that fight, almost like AirDroid.

Of course the free version has limitations, but it's a start.!
Not bad! That's a good start indeed. I'll play around a bit with this.
Thanks a lot for the link
I've been moderately happy with my Nokia 9. Where I work at sea, carrying a full mirror less (m50)or dslr isnt practical. I haven't seen much of any improvement going from Android 9 to 10.
However I was about to perform my monthly photo dump 20ish GB, and now my phone doesn't recognize the 2tb nvme m2 drive I use for all my on the sea backups. Its worked without hesitation or hiccup since... forever (I built the drive in June). It works with my realme x2, and my Moto g7power. I've tried different cables. I've also tried toggling the dev option for us data transfer only..... Any thoughts would be appreciated. Ill reset the phone if I have to....will that being me back to Android 9? The otg functionality to me is imperative with no removable media.
UPDATE;
I restarted the phone.
And now the phone powers the drive. You hear it, and the blue led says its alive.
But the phone becomes unresponsive. Maps crashes, my phone something crashes, cell somethin somethin crashes, LTE broadcast manager crashes; and restarts. No app, any of the 6 file managers are able to access the contents of the drive ( but other phones/tablets can {even my old LG tablet running Marshmallow}). Contacted Nokia live chat. Theyre useless. he says wait for an update. GAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Hey there, Android 12 introduced a features that allows folks to transfer their WhatsApp data from an iPhone to Android devices. See here: https://www.androidauthority.com/transfer-whatsapp-chat-iphone-to-android-3048389/
However, this is designed to only work if the Android phone is fresh out of the box and the migration can't be triggered once the phone is already set up.
Is there a way to trigger the transfer even though the Pixel has already been set up, without relying on shady 3rd party migration software? I don't understand the technical reason for this restriction, seems it's some business bull**** reason?
(In my case, the Pixel arrived with Android 11 and only offered me to upgrade to Android 12 after I had already started using it. I was not aware that this feature would be coming in Android 12.)

Not sure if there is a way to trigger transfer once set up, but you could factory reset once you have upgraded to android 12 and then phone would be in out-of-the-box state.

so I tried it on a brand new pixel and it still didn't transfer ....
connected the two phones with the cable... selected the "move to android" option on the iPhone ... went to the Android and installed WhatsApp from Google Play ...
When I launch WhatsApp it simply ignores the connected iPhone. Asks me for phone number & verifies it, but never offers to restore from iPhone.
Why? Does it support encrypted backups? Does it support account PINs? I'm clueless. I tried 3 times (phone reset).

Sorry I can't be of more help. I don't have WhatsApp or iPhone, so I don't have any direct knowledge of your issue. My only experience is with Signal, which does support encrypted backup files. With signal, you must record encryption key that is generated when backup file is created, then you must import backup file on new device and provide encryption key. Not sure if WhatsApp has similar export and import capabilities. I guess you tried the device migration tool in the Pixel Setup?
same thing happned to me there is no option to trigger the data restore tool & also the playstore wont install data restore tool on pixel 4 xl
Do you think it's at all possible that transferring data from one phone to another can carry over existing problems?
I'd love to simply transfer everything over since it's so easy, but l'd hate to bring any of my many unfortunate Pixel 6 issues to the Pixel 7. Thanks!
I've never had that issue but as a rule of thumb every completely new device I get I always start from scratch. Just helps eliminate clutter and also kind of like a "spring cleaning" where I can reevaluate the apps I use or settings I like and refine them.

It definitely can. Can't tell you how many times I've seen people who have had problems after transferring over data end up doing a clean flash and setting up fresh and having their problems resolved. That's not to say that transferring over your data will necessarily cause problems, but it might. You may be just fine transferring over data. But if you do incur problems, a clean flash and setup has a good chance of resolving them.
Personally, I always set up a new phone (or when a new Android version comes out) fresh by reinstalling my apps fresh from the Play Store (or wherever) and setting up the apps fresh. I don't copy any data over. For me it's worth the extra time rather than possibly running into problems and having to do it anyways to solve those problems.
I transfered 100% during setup. All my stuff from my 3 XL copied perfect. The only one issue I had was with Instagram not giving notifications, but I found out I had to allow notifications within the 7's privacy settings.
Personally I always set the phone up fresh
I have never once had a restore from backup not result in some kind of issue. They're usually quite minor but not always fixable (like my issue with my AOD not working properly seems like it copied something from my OnePlus 9 that I can't root out and my Facebook app won't let me select notifications, it uses ringtones instead lol, so I just put it on vibrate).
That said, I used the cable to copy to my 7 Pro from my OnePlus 9 and the issues I'm having are minor enough that after a week of dealing with them, I still haven't reset to fix them, and I probably won't.
Thank you so much everyone! I'm starting from scratch, even though it's a bit painful.
