Hi,
I have a Singapore N920I. Im using the phone in INDIA and am not enable to Enable VOLTE. its says 'unsupported by current software version'. Ive tried enabling the 'turn off volte provisioned flag' but doesn't work when tapping on it. My device is rooted. Is there any way to enable VOLTE on my phone.
Android version : 6.0.1
BaseBand: N920IDVU2BPE2
Model : SM-N920I
Thanks
As far as I know, and don't quote me on this. You cannot. The volte service is different from carrier to carrier. For example, I had a Verizon s6 when I switched to T-Mobile. Both networks support volte/advanced calling, however when I tried to activate volte on T-Mobile, it didn't work. The software is looking for the wrong signal. You're best bet is to sell the one you have an buy one compatible with your carrier. Also you could check over on the general note 5 development threads. There is far more support over there for devices that aren't the 920t. Hope this helps.
Your CSC doesn't support the other network. So its like trying to log into a website with a different website account.
hello
the mate 10 is the only android phone that can make wifi call on my carrier "Zain SA", and i am wondering if any on can help me extract the data related to my carrier to run wifi call on my S8. any help is appreciated
regards
I can't see why the s8 wouldn't support WiFi calling when the mate 10 does, they both support it, as long as the carrier supports the feature, it should work on both.
On my s8 I had to disable it with my carrier first, then get them to re enable it before it would work with my s8.
i think there are some settings and files needed to be in the phone to be able to run
the carrier say they only support iphones
If they only support I phones, why is your mate 10 working out the box, even if their are files needed to enable WiFi calling, they wouldn't be compatible between Huawei and Samsung I wouldn't have thought.
i don't know, may be all the infrastructure of the carrier is form Huawei !!!
Hello. The issue is with my new international unlocked SM-N950F/DS phone, which I am using on AT&T network in USA. The problem I am having has to do with the Wi-Fi Calling. I do not see this feature on the phone.
I was told by Samsung reps that all Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phones supports Wi-Fi Calling. But the feature ought to be enabled by the provider. I spoke with the AT&T technical support. They told me that in order for Wi-Fi Calling to work my phone should support HD Voice. They say that it does not. When I try to enable HD Voice directly on my phone by locating HD Voice setting service with QuickshortcutMaker -- I could not.
The AT&T techs said that I need to contact Samsung to have either firmware update or something. Samsung USA told me that they don’t know these phones and could not provide support.
Any suggestions on how to enable Wi-Fi Calling on this phone?
I have this exact problem! Did you find a solution? I’ve tried a bunch of things and haven’t gotten anything to work yet.

Rooting your phone and flashing ATT CSC would help
To All Sprint Note 8 Users,
Received this message from Sprint the other day.
Important Notification
Regarding Calling PLUS Service Decommission
Our records indicate your account is using Calling PLUS, a service that provides simultaneous voice and data (LTE Calling Beta) and the ability to place voice calls over Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi Calling). Your device will soon receive a software update that will remove Calling PLUS and replace it with a similar feature called VoLTE (Voice over LTE).
Here are your options for the system update:
Accept the System Update – this will permanently remove Calling PLUS from your device. The replacement service of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) will be installed. VoLTE provides the same simultaneous voice & data capability as Calling PLUS. The Wi-Fi Calling service will continue to allow your device to make and receive calls over an available Wi-Fi connection. If accepted, you will NOT be able to go back to the previous version of device software. Postpone the System Update – Calling PLUS service will remain active. Calling PLUS users may want to choose this option. However, you will NOT be able to postpone the update indefinitely. Your phone manufacturer may require an update for your phone in the near future.
For more information on Calling PLUS, please visit: www.sprint.com/cpfaq
Thank you for being a Sprint customer.
When I got my Note 8, I used Package Disabler Pro to stop all Sprint updates.
My current firmware version is:
2017-11-15
7.1.1
N950USQU2BQJB
N950UOYN2BQJB
I disabled:
Software Update - com.wssyncmldm
Sprint OMADM - com.sec.omadmspr
Software update - com.sec.android.soagent
Sprint Chameleon - com.samsung.sprint.chameleon
I have been using:
[MOD]Hotspot bypass. No root/No MSL required.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/themes/mod-hotspot-bypass-root-msl-required-t3671061
with no issues since I got the Note 8 on 4/6/19.
It looks like they intend to forcefully push this update if not successfully through Sprint, then through Samsung.
Is this going to kill my hotspot mod? If so, is there a way to prevent it?
Any and all suggestions are welcome.
Thank you.
A recent update did just kill my hotspot. I had to pay my remaining balance to get it unlocked, then create a custom apn to get it back. The guide is here on xda.
So what android version are you on Buck420? I'm also wondering how to update it and also unlock my hotspot mod back into the phone. My phone is paid off BTW and have the old Android version installed.
Any updates on this?
Hi everyone,
Have a global version of X5 Pro.
Trying to make VoLTE and VoWIFI working on T-Mobile in US but no luck.
No toggles in SIM settings and toggles in Phone Info are grayed out.
Any ideas to activate it?
Same with me, I started another thread or two concerning this issue but I believe it has to do with T-Mobile's VoLTE/Wifi-calling provisioning relative to the Find X5 Pro's firmware?
Of course the phone supports VoLTE and WiFi-Calling, so I'm not sure why at least the latter won't work (or at least have a toggle). If you google 'how to enable WiFi calling', most people tell you to set (or re-set) your E911 address because it's a necessary feature of WiFi calling. Ive done this on the T-Mobile website AND with a support rep on the phone, but still no toggle to enable.
I haven't found anything about this outside of XDA so perhaps it's time to submit a ticket directly to Oppo.
Edit: could anyone from the EU/UK chime in on whether they have the toggle options for VoLTE/WiFi-calling? I think we need to identify whether the problem is based on region/carrier rather than the phone.
Pulled from a recent T-Mobile forum post about the same issue (but on multiple different phones):
"In order to enable WiFi calling from an unlocked phone, there appear to be several components which all need to align perfectly. The the phone must have the physical capability, obviously a WiFi antenna. It also seems to rely on VoLTE provisioned and WiFi calling provisioned abilities.
The former carrier must have unlocked the device and its IMEI for use on another carrier.
The current carrier must have enabled WiFi calling, and also configured an E911 address.
"Exactly! The firmware in the Sprint S8 is not compatible with T-Mobile’s WiFi Calling implementation. XDA might offer some work around through flashing or root, but through normal methods, WiFi Calling on such an old device that actually has carrier specific firmware isn’t going to work with a different carrier for those feature implementations. Vodafone Germany: Custom Firmware with VF branding, but no SIM- or Netlock
VoLTE has no toggle but is activated by default, VoWiFi has a toggle and works.
