I am about to graduate uni wth a cs degree and I have an offensive security class. I think It would be funny to show up with my phone and use that insted of a lab machine to do the kali stuff, so I am going to port kali nethunter to my phone.

Not really crash... but here goes:
Back when I was in Middle School, probably in 7th grade we had the mandatory Tech-Ed class that we had to take. We had our gimpy school Gateway laptops out and were using some type of CAD program. The teacher was this old guy who didn't really pay any attention to anything so we could get away with a lot.
Anyways, the teacher was doing something over the projector and I was in the back of the class not doing what I was supposed to be doing... I had the command prompt open and decided to fool around with the "net" command. Trying to create admin users and so forth. Then I got to the "net send" command. Decided it would be funny to send a message to the class room. "net send * yo fool" Being in the back of the class I saw a little message pop up on every computer simultaneously. So I send 2 more.... one of them with my name. The teacher saw my name then came back and asked if it was me.... in surprisingly quick thinking I go, "Why would I type my name in it? Wouldn't that be kinda dumb?" He agreed and then continued doing whatever he was doing...
10 minutes later some lady walks into the class and goes, "Who has computer number 11."
crap.
Ends up the messenger service was active on every single computer.... and I mean ever single computer. My messages propagated to every single computer in all three elementary schools, the middle school, the high school, the administration building, and the superintendents office.
The principal said people were calling complaining about crashed computers... I tell her all you had to do was click "Okay" three times. She tells me to go back to class and that she'll call me back up when she speaks to the superintendent. I never got called up!
I managed to crack the Admin password to enter the BIOS and thats as far as it got

Pull the BIOS/CMOS battery
And the plug too ?
That's something difficult to do in front of public...
What I did twice was to boot from a Linux live usb. Yeah, admin privileges the easiest way !
I knew that as an option. But I was hoping for a better alternative because it'd be awfully suspicious and difficult to take apart my school computer.

Haha Linux FTW! Although sometimes the BIOS will prevent you from booting off anything but the HDD.
Yeah; I've never used a BIOS pw cracker but I'm sure they're out there.

Some BIOS's have back door passwords... just do a Google search; I don't want to link to anything.
You might be able to try something called Wubi that allows you to install Linux from Windows... I'm not sure if you need Admin rights to do so.

In HS I ran Ubuntu from a live CD, everything worked.
In HS I had the admin passwords to all the computers, and took out ram in library PCs when no one was looking. lol. Also one of the select few to have the HIDDEN WiFi info.

BTW, I know your address, if anything is missing from your place, means I was there.

Funny, I'd think it was the people that live around me. They'd rob me in a heartbeat if we didn't have 4 dogs.
I once crashed in my school nurse room couch. BEST/WORST. NIGHT EVER.
As far as i know, i just got accepted to one of the US University, at West Coast, The Cougar if you wonder. I am not American, so this is a huge succeed, lol. but whatever.
I had basic skills over software programming and really interested to be pro in that.
Otherwise, i really don't know which degree to take this Fall . it either will be Computer Science (BA i think, since BS will require much more Mathematics and i don't think i can handle everything in English) , or Computer Engineering.
I have been Google around and Both Computer Engineering and Computer Science has a class for Software Development.

Computer engineering, also called computer systems engineering, is a discipline that integrates several fields of electrical engineering and computer science required to develop computer systems.[1] Computer engineers usually have training in electronic engineering (or electrical engineering), software design, and hardware-software integration instead of only software engineering or electronic engineering. Computer engineers are involved in many hardware and software aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design. This field of engineering not only focuses on how computer systems themselves work, but also how they integrate into the larger picture.

So... If any one here did roll in this kind of degree, please tell me which one is the way to go?
My skill of programming right now is at the beginning level of C++.
Are you good with math?

Yes. I have been study like a math-hardcore. I mean like i love to learn Math and i am pretty good at it. At least now i am doing fine with AP calculus and going to have AP Exam Pretty Soon.
I'd go with Bachelor of Science in Computer Science if I were you. More things to do with it and you have started programming.

If you don't like the pen and paper, then a bachelor's degree wouldn't work for you, I think. It will also depend on your professor, some prefer hands-on while others do the pen and paper method.

Okay then, so what is the possibility of future job if i success in Computer Science BS?
you should do both, they have a close curriculum, the only thing is that can take you probably two or three more terms but when you are done you end with two degrees.
ask if you can do that at the university you are going.
Pd: i am doing this and is call "dual enrollment"
I have been researching and look like the Bachelor of Science do offer a lot of stuffs, even Software Engineering, so look like it is better deal than Computer Engineering Alone...
Sample courses
Below is a sample of courses that students who are pursuing a BS in computer science are likely to take:
Program Design and Development
Data Structures
Advanced Data Structures
Programming Tools
Computer Architecture
Software Engineering Principles I and II
Automata and Formal Languages
Principles of Software Design
Software Design Project I and II
Design and Analysis of Algorithms
Operating Systems and Computer Architecture
Fifteen credits of computer science option courses may be taken in such areas as communications, computer engineering, computer graphics, mathematics, networks and distributed systems, scientific computation, or software engineering.

I'm in the same boat this year. I think comp engineering is better because you get to learn hardware programming. So it replaces some CS theories with more technical, engineering stuffs. And it also teaches hardware.
In terms of programming, CS will teach you to create any application you want as long as it doesnt control the hardware, while CE will teach you courses that XDA kernel devs do like multi core scheduling, CPU optimization. So it's more into drivers and OS
I am doing computer engineering from india
So as far as ik
B. C. A. And other computer science are not good enough if you are computer geek or freak (that's me)
In india (i dont know about other countries)
We have engineering in two degrees. (4years)
First is called bachelor of engineering in computers
Second is called bachelor of technology in computers
First has lot of pen and paper work
Second has better technical knowledge or practical stuff.
So its your choice what you want to do
I am doing first
I will be doing M. Tech after my b.e.
And to get admission in M. Tech you need to pass GATE exam which is quite easy because only 16℅ pass every year
sent from the edge of universe
I am a computer Engineer by professional but been concentrated much in computers. I feel I should join the world of mobile phones that is why I am here. I want to learn from you colleagues.

Welcome to XDA!
We have a new section for all computer related!
Hey Everyone! I've been an avid enthusiast for sometime now and finally decided to make an account lol. I enjoy alot of RF TX/RX at the moment but I'm kind of all over the place with electronics. I've been looking to get more into getting root control of my Android devices us cmd prompt of Linux terminal. Preferably to incorporate into some cord cutting diy homemade sdr projects. If your not lost by by now lets collaborate lol

Hello and welcome aboard!
Hello, i hope everyone is fine, performing well, having healthy and happy life, well I am new on XDA form India and make my place in android development with your support and smile, as i am passionate about android development, the inspiration in my life which lead me to android development is my friend Yash Rastogi a Recognized Member in XDA forum as he installed linux (kali) on my laptop reason hacking wifi of my neighbour lol as i belong to a restriced family and in fact i use mobile data from my main account balance to surf internet when i was small and was getting 200mb data pack of rupees 50 when i become bit old, from early age of 9yrs as i remember i was a computer lover and visit every settings and system files and try to modify it and sometimes break windows XP lol, ok so back on track about kali and hacking so we successfully hacked my neighbour wifi and used his all 50gb left internet lol, from that point these things started building in my mind and i am/was really passionated, but destiny was kind of not happy with me and due to poor performance in my studies, my father told me to take commerce stream, at this point my career and my passion took a far seperation but in college i used to teach Computer Science teachers and Students of computer branch, well i got appreciated too with teachers and cs students as i was a commerce student and gained a vast knowledge about CS related things so, as i am now 26, employed but still want to keep my passion as a part-time with me as in android development community. That's all. Thank You..
