Whatsapp issue oppo x5 pro pfem10 - OPPO Find X5 Pro Questions & Answers

hello,
I'm posting here because i didn't find anything on the web about this issue.
I bought a oppo X5 pro pfem10 from China (i'm in hong kong) i installed everything and whatsapp don't want to work at all.
I tried many thing like uninstalling it, grant every permission to the app, tried 2 number from "3" provider and even tried with my French number (from bouygue telecom).
the error is "unable to connect please try again later)
i asked to whatsapp support and they can't help me .
Is there anyone who faced the same issue and find something to make it work ?
Thanks.

Also I've a PFEM10 new just received, have no WhatsApp for the moment.
I like to know if you have had WA before or changed only the phone or also the phone number because seems to me that "unable to connect please try again later) refer to unable to connect to your old phone number

Ho, I don't have an answer, sorry. But maybe you can try to download a mod for WhatsApp, like YMWhatsApp (sorry can't attach the apk, it's too big). DM me, if you need it.

Momail with AT&T Tilt?

Hi,
I am trying to sign up for the Momail beta and am supposed to get an activation link via text message but it never arrives.
I'm trying to figure out if it's a problem on their end (since it is a beta), or maybe on my phone settings (using Alex's v5 Multimedia ROM). Has anyone had success with setting up momail?
Thanks in advance!
yeah same problem here. No SMS was sent to me.

Hi,
this is my first post here, so please bear with me.
I've had the same problem with momail on two different devices (SE P990i and just recently Kaiser). It seems as if the sms with the settings doesn't go through or takes ages.
But you can configure everything in about 2 minutes manually without being an acclaimed expert (wouldn't see myself as such ).
Should you need help PM me

Almo

Incoming Calls not Displaying Contact Name

Hi All. Just recently flash Touch-IT 10.4
Peculiar issue i didn't face before. When I get a call, the name/picture of the contact does not get displayed. Just the number.
But when I look at the call History. The name is there.
Wats up?
Tried looking/posting in the Touch-IT thread?
And isn't Touch-IT 10.31 the latest version?
Well there is a 10.4 posted in the latest pages.
But not on the first page.
I browsed through the latest pages. no one seems to be facing the same problem.
That's why i posted outside the thread. Maybe someone else faced the same problem with another ROM.....
if I remember rightly I've had a similar prob ;-) The problem was that incoming calls included country code and the numbers saved on my X1 consited only of the whole number resulting in being signed as unknown ones - Try adding country codes to your address book
kind regards
N0r0
darn. it was working fine before. without adding the country code. sigh. Gotta add the country code to each number? whoaaa.
I thought the same *g* But one rom I've tested [don't really know which one exactly] needed such country codes [I added it automatically with a lil script ;-) - don't worry]
regards

MMS Settings X1

Hi
I have searched XDA-forum after a working solution, but have not found anyone that really works..
I have two problem that really irritates me:
1. Every time i send and recieve MMS i need to accept before the phone can send/recieve.
2. When i recieve MMS with image, the image is very tiny (like a thumbnail), is it possible to show images in original size? If i save the image on my phone and open it, it is in original size.
I can live with problem number 2, but not problem number 1.
I am using my Xperia with Telia simcard (swe).
Really looking forward to read your solution!
which rom do you use?
i had the same problem i think its a common fault if you search on here you should find to files you install which will sort the prob out
With R2A and R3A the problem is solved.
The manual solution:
change the reg with the follow values:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader]
"Accept-Charset"="us-ascii;utf-8;iso-10646-ucs-2;ISO-8859-1"
"User-Agent"="prodigy/arcsoft-mmsua-ppc-3.0.0.xx"
"Profile"="http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/wizard-2.0.xml"

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S SMS Problem

Hi I have a question.
My sister from Korea sent me a Korean Version Samsung Galaxy S (anycall), I came from the Philippines. I had it unlocked and everything is working fine like calling, wifi, and etc. But I have encountered several annoying problems:
1. I cannot send sms as when I am trying to press the send button, a pop out "invalid sender'' appears. What might be the cause of this and what are the solutions? I am really a text person.
2. There are a lot of Korean Apps that I want to remove, is there any chance I can root it and install an English version
3. The dialer and keypad has a lot of korean characters, can I remove them?
Thanks in advance. will be waiting for your reply
i think you'll have difficulty finding compatible ROMs for the Korean version of the SGS
a Korean guy tried doing this, and he is now stuck with a bricked phone
I just recently purchased a samsung galaxy s from Korea, anycall is the telecom it used to be subscribed. its open-line now, but i had the same sms problem, "invalid sender" error...
solution is that you have to find an old cellphone, nokia or sony ericsson which has an option in the contact settings...and find to edit "my number", and place your number. voila! you can now send sms! or the other method is, from your galaxy s, go t the messenger>compose message>then left home option key>change sender...then put your number in FROM:, then your friends number in TO:...then you can send messages, its just a hassle that you have to enter your number everytime you send sms, better find the old phone so you can automatically send sms...hope this helps...
Hey!
I'm an SGS user from the Philippines as well. My phone was purchased from the US but sourced from Singapore. In it's original state, it was apparently from Singtel since it had the logo and Singtel apps and everything all over it. I hated this but managed to get rid of it all soon enough.
I flashed my phone to the generic DXJF4 firmware Find it on Samsung-Firmwares. Do NOT get the DXJG4 (which is the current one) firmware from there since it's corrupt and I'm not sure if they fixed it recently. Just download the DXJF4 firmware and flash your phone with it. There are tutorials here on XDA and on Samsung-firmwares, explaining how to do this specifically for SGS Or you can find tutorials on Youtube if you want. After flashing and making sure all is working fine, hook up your SGS to your computer and use Kies to update it to DXJG4 which is the most current firmware for our phone. And there you go!
It has English as the default language and my phone has been clean ever since. Doing this will clean out all those korean apps and such and get rid of the Korean language found throughout the system.
Make sure also before doing any of the flashing stuff that your phone has a lot of battery life left and that your three-button download mode works.
Please respond if this works or if you still are having issues. Good luck!
Hope this helped!

This is resolved with the flashing advice I gave.
anoneemooz flashing the singapore galaxy device is very different from the singapore device, we have different hardware while the singapore device is considered the international device. I9000 vs shw-m110s

Oh sorry I didn't know that. OP didn't really say much about his device model so I just assumed it was the normal, international, SGS.
Careful Please

anoneemooz, OP DID make mention that the SGS came from Korea and even bothered to mention the provider, AnyCall, which gives us more than enough clues as to what the phone is.
At any rate, kindly take consideration of such details as people who take advice posted here might end up bricking their phones. I myself am in the process of waiting for a solution to this problem and some might not be as prudent as I am and would jump the gun with advice such as the one you've posted.

Handsent SMS resolved the usual problems. But I have a Bank App which does some verification by sending SMS. It is failing. I think it is using the stock SMS app.

Low quality MMS [Solved - Telstra issue]

Hi All,
I've been doing a bit of reading about this issue, and there's varying information about it.
Basically, when I receive and MMS, the quality is downsized (for a photo), or a video, may simply be truncated.
When I receive the request, the app says MMS ready to download, 49kb. I accept the download, and then view, if it's a photo, it's usually 15kb at a res of abour 280x150px.
If it's a video it still says it's 49kb, then I hit download, and it downloads the message, but says the attached file is corrupt.
Now I know the files aren't that size when sent from the source.
People have suggested it's a problem with the useragent coming from the phone, and Telstra (my provider) has an issue with an "unrecognised device" and defaults to the lowest settings possible.
I've tried chompsms and handcent, same issue - and I can't find the option to change the useragent for MMS.
Others have suggested hacking the mms.apk file, but we don't have that, only conversation.apk
(Now i'm wondering if the issue is in messaging.apk ?)
Has anyone got any ideas about this issue? It's not a Telstra issue, I was doing this just fine on my previous phone. :/
Cheers.
Still had no luck with this. Just dropped my SIM back in my old HTC TP2, and boom! 252kb MMS's are back. (Just had one come in that refused to download).
So i've also stuffed up my Conversations apk & odex...
Any quick ways of getting those out of the recovery .img files?
Edit : Just reflashed system.img using fastboot and it's fine.
Just a final heads up on this.
It seems it was a Telstra issue, for some reason it just magically started working correctly today. 2 New MMS received today at the correct quality.
No changes to my phone, and I did NOT talk to Telstra about this. How strange!
