Hi! - Introductions

Hi from France
I am long time Android tablet user. Started on Asus 3S10 Z500M.... what a tablet it was. The last 4/3 format Android tablet from a reputed company. Afet few years I was obliged to swotch to.. chuwi Hipad plus from a less reputed company LOL. Not so bad but somewhat slow because of the low end chip they used. Now I wait for the Xiaoxin Pad pro 2021 which I got on ... aliexpres on "black friday" sale. I hope to get it to un official CN/ENG ROM... Will see if it works.. Cheers

Welcome to XDA! Enjoy the forums and information!
Cheers

I'm the Chief Content Officer for XDA

Hey all, I'm Nirave. I've been a member of the forums since the late 2000s during my Windows Mobile days. I still remember how many times XDA helped me fix my Xperia X1 and the early days of my foray into Android.
Since 2009, I've been writing about technology. I used to run a UK site, and prior to joining the leadership team at XDA almost a year ago, I worked for Mobile Nations, Future, and Android Authority. I help direct all the content that's published across our family of websites, as well as the boring wider company stuff!
I've used pretty much every flagship launched over the last 8 years and always carry at least two phones. One is an iPhone, one is an Android phone. Oh, and I love foldables – my arsenal includes the Z Fold 2, Mate Xs, and ThinkPad X1 Fold!
Glad to meet you Nirave! I also had some Window Mobile device's which were a blast from the past!

Other things to know about Nirave: he doesn't sleep, he is a great cook (if you like a killer curry), and he likes to buy more phones than he actually needs or will ever use (ahem, I think he learned that from me...).
I know many other secrets about Nirave that I'll undoubtedly reveal over time. xD
i once was knew good cook ..
it was fun .. xD

Hello Nick and welcome,
What city in Germany are you?
Enjoy the forums!
What's goody? I'm bobbymobetta, you cab find me under that handle most everywhere I go. I was early on an iPhone hater and my first smartphone was a Motorola Droid with slide-out physical keyboard. In those days I used to say I'd never use an iPhone specifically because of the keyboard. But my second (emergency switch) android phone was an original Samsung Galaxy (a 1 I guess) after throwing that phone against a wall I swore I'd never go back to android, and as a mostly mac/apple ecosystem user, that promise seemed like it would be easy to keep. 10 years later, as the backlash began against the big stacks, I returned to Samsung with a Galaxy 9. Why? Because I wanted more freedom to modify and even simply to customize the UI, and occasionally the OS. Now, with a brand new iteration of my trusty Galaxy (S21+) It's clear to me where the lines get drawn; Android users fight for net neutrality and generally speaking have a "Don't Tread on Me" mentality. iPhone users are those who, when their screen cracks, they immediately trash it and buy a new one, secretly happy for an excuse to get the "newest, best" you know, that one with more "security" (surveillance) features and... a newest bestestest camera, but otherwise is essentially the same as the last version.
I play and write music, most recently getting deep into the analog synthesis scene, and I'm cohost of the podcast 'Earth's Mightiest Podcast' which features revues and commentary about the latest Avengers comics...as well as other things
Get at me! I'm here mainly to try rooting my S20, since if it bricks, I won't be up that creek with no paddle... shoot, what's that creel called again...?

Hi everyone I'm happy to join the community. I have been following the forum over 10 years now probably first time I was modding an Asus TF 700 transformer tablet or OnePlus One those were the good times!!! Now I'm having an overheating Pixel 4a and living in Taiwan. The bright side I can get my hands on with the latest tech almost everyday.
Thanks again I'm happy to be here.

Hello from Grenoble - France

Hey everyone,
I've been on XDA since more than 10 years now but had to create a new account.
Thanks a lot for the forums and the job being done since all this time.
I am a big fan of technology and new innovations always amazed but everything going on not only phones but all the tech.
But still my thing is keeping these gems we have running for as long as it is possible.
Been an owner of the first OnePlus back in 2013/2014 ( don't recall the year exactly sorry) lived with me for 5 years.
Kept running on company given phones for a while.
Now running a Galaxy Note 10 a second hand purchased phone which I find actually amazing, battery life aside.
Nice being here, hope I can support in any possible way, even financially if it makes sens.
Best Regards

I'm convinced that my French teammate @woodman will also take the opportunity to salute you and to pass greetings to the wonderful area around Grenoble.
Regards
Oswald Boelcke
