I have the same problem, my warranty also expired so I'm hoping it'll get better with future updates :c
It's usually a corrupted image/video file in your memory, try disabling MIUI Gallery through ADB and using Google Photos to try to see if it is the problem
Disabling Mi Gallery through ADB breaks Mi Cloud so it's not rlly a good idea if he uses it
thanks genius, didn't think of that

Hello.
For months now i have had this seriously irritated whatsapp problem.
Sometimes it works flawless and sometimes i dont get whatsapp messages till i turn the screen on and open the app.
Now the past week ive bin monitoring everything verry closely and i think i found the cullprit.
Every time whatsapp does NOT work google messaging service is no longer active under active applications and when it works this app is active making me believe this is the sole cause for my whatsapp problems.
Now im left with 1 big question WHY is this Google Message Service killing itself and how can i prevent it from shutting down in the future?
Some basic information.
Im tunning stock v10H (4.03) and am Rooted.
However this problem already occured while not rooted so that is defo not the problem.
I already tried a factory reset and this didnt do anything to fix it.
If anyone knows a possible fix to this solution without me rebooting my phone 15 times a day i would be really thankfull and possible many with me
I have also this problem, whether on my old phone or on this LG, I tried everything, but nothing solved this problem :|
Would be really nice if anyone has a solution for this.

hehe i wonder why i always end up having issues noone seems to know the solution for or want things that noone has ever thought off or finds handy...
guess im sending it to LG then and let them sort it im not paying for something that doesnt even run the bare basics like whatsapp properly due to failing services.
Try flashing 10d if you dont want 20x firmware i think that it may be some kind of bug since no one else reported it and i dont think that google messeging is shuting down whats app since they are 2 separate apps not depending on each other. If you send your phone to LG they will 99% just update software and return device to you.

Flashing V10D is never a option nore a solution as v10H is the best rom there is in the range.
and google message service isnt shutting down whatsapp its shutting down itself making whatsapp not work.
google message service is needed for whatsapp to get push messages sowithout that service running whatsapp is useless.

I thought you were talking about google messanger (now hangout) not google push message service. My advice is still to flash 20b or any other custom rom and test it.I think that behavior wont happend again. You can alwayse ship device back to LG.
i think i fixed it ! ! ! !
delete google play services (the one with the puzzle icon) delete google play updates reboot the phone and open play store.
it will now update play store and reinstall all this google crap and tadaa it works.
there must have bin some flaw while updating the files that prevented it from being always active.
havent had a problem all day.
Hey,
I upgraded my moto g to marshmallow and it keeps optimising one app after every single reboot which takes up about 15 minutes. Is there any way to find out which is this app without having to do a factory reset?
Or is there any solution?

If you have Facebook app installed it's that. It happens always after an update of the app. Fault of FB developers btw. No solution, you can remove the app or you can buy a more expensive phone to fix that.

Thank you, it solved the problem!
I noticed a bug in the YouTube app on my device (note 8 SM-N950F).
while a video is playing if I minimized the movie and then maximized it (quickly few times in a row) the phone crash to boot.
I didn't face any kind of crash in the month I have it except this scenario in the youtube app .
the app version 12.44.53
as you can see :
https://youtu.be/OPA2KdPunsA
anyone else can try and report ?
thanks
I have had the same thing. It would just randomly crash out and reboot my phone when minimising/maximising videos from the little preview window when scrolling.

I manage to find more info by trying diffrent things. I think maybe it's memory management bug. If the device is fresh from boot with nothing else running then it won't crash. But with some apps open in the background then it always happens. not randomly at all.
Did you solved it?

It happens so rarely that I haven't really done anything about it. It will happen out of the blue one day and won't show up for weeks. I have gone on the Samsung Members app and it detected an unexpected reboot which it reported to Samsung so maybe they will fix it eventually.
Same thing for me. Happened already 3 times. While resizing the window or passing from portrait to landscape.

I've checked now and it won't crash. I don't know if it's related but Yesterday I've installed the latest OTA update (which was the first since I've got my unit). Any way it's seems fixed as far as i can see. Didn't do anything except updating all my apps and the unit itself to the latest version available. If it will happen again I'll keep you update.

Hi,
I own a huawei p10 for over a year with the latest updates made; for a few days, when I try to take a picture, my phone turn off!
Even after a hard reset, I have the same problem.
Has anyone ever met this problem?
Thanks.
Does your P10 this in camera app only or also in other apps like WhatsApp?
Only thing you can do is a factory reset to find out if it's a software bug. If it's just the camera app try to reset this app.
Is this only happening when you take the picture or even while opening the camera of focusing?
If this problem is still present it can be a hardware fault, maybe an electric shortage inside the camera which causes a full shortage and the phone turns off.

Thank you for your prompt response.
The problem only occurs when I try to take a picture with the system application, even after a factory reset.
I changed the battery 6 months ago; maybe the worry comes from there ...
I will probably also (occasionally) install a custom rom.
Thanks.
Only stock app or third party apps, too?
If third party apps work fine then you can try to install a newer version, if available.

Only with the system photo application and even with the latest version of android.
It can also be an hardware problem.
I will test several tracks and I will come back to poster if I find a solution.
Thanks again for the interest in my problem.

Hi,
The track of the battery problem was good, you were right.
I did not think about it right away because I changed it 5 months ago. Bought cheap on eBay, it was to predict ...
Thank you again for your help.

Hi, I have the same problem but with the stock battery. How did you find out it was a battery problem? Did you put the stock battery back into the phone and witnessed that the problem was gone?
I don't remember exactly how I had identified that the problem was with the battery, but once changed, everything worked fine.

Hi!
What do you mean? Is the screen locking itself on its own? You then have to unlock the screen?
Cheers !

WoW that s*cks...
So you are using the original ROM, not a custom one is that it?
Do you have a custom recovery ?
Is your phone rooted ?

Well... at that point i don't know what to say...
You should try uninstalling the updates (if you can) and update the phone again.
Then once you've done that, uninstall and reinstall the apps.
Then try to go in the settings and modify the delay before the screen goes off (even if in the end you choose the same timing, just try to change it a couple of times see if it makes any difference)
Best of luck !
Cheers !
exactly the same issue here with mi 9 lite
I've had similar problems. Sometimes, when I try to hear WhatsApp voice notes, systemui crashes, and I have to unlock the phone with my passcode. Then it says something like find device closed unexpectedly. It happens 3 or 4 times in a row until I gave up and stop trying to hear voice notes. Then I can try again and works just fine.
Try to reinstall your firmware using the fastboot method, you can get the tools from the MIUI forum and the file for your device. If that still doesn't solve your issue you might need to RMA your device as it could be an issue with the hardware.
I had the same problem, lost signal and go in lockscreen (android protection for no SIM) then i unlock the phone and all return ti work....Yesterday i install android 10 MIUI 11 the pasto update...and now all works create ? Hope the same for you
