No Service Moto X xt1060 - Moto X Q&A

I have Moto X XT1060 mobile from many years, SIM was working fine, but suddently it started to show "No Service" and "SIM is not from Verizon" popup.
When I try to search for network it doesn't show any network. I tried different SIMs which are working fine on other phones. I also tried to Factory Reset from Bootloader but still not working.
I am from Pakistan and tried different local SIMs, Phone is PTA Approved so I don't know whats the problem here.

anyone?

Droid 3 not working on T-Mobile

I recently sold this phone to somebody on T-Mobile, but they're getting this message "no GSM/UMTS networks were found". The phone worked perfectly on AT&T and has the build.prop edits. I really don't want them to have to return the phone since it was working fine, so does anybody have any idea how to fix this?
It obviously has the XT883 radio. I tried using my mother's sim card in the phone and I actually had the same issue, but upon putting in my own AT&T sim it stopped having this glitch. I figured since the phone was working on GSM it was just an issue with my mother's sim, but I'm completely lost as to what to do to get the phone to find the T-Mobile network. I've already tried manually connecting to T-Mobile 2G and 3G in the network settings, but this didn't work. Factory resetting and reapplying many different radios and different build.prop edits also didn't fix this issue.
thats strange . i sold a droid 3 flashed with the gsm radio to a guy using tmobile and it worked fine, only issue was in the area we were in,tmobie wasnt running on 1900mhz and he only had EDGE.
did you try to SBF the phone and repeat the procedure completely? maybe he messed around with something in the root manager.

If you did your sim unlock with an AT&T SIM, more than likely they would need to repeat it with a T-Mobile SIM as it usually adds that carrier's SIM cards to the white list.

[Q] Retail Moto X with Verizon, Internet Working, Texting Working, No Calling

I have a retail verizon Moto X that I purchased from a friend. The calling does not work. It says "Mobile Network Not Available". The friend was using it on T-Mobile, I don't know if somehow the radio settings for the phone got internally changed when he did the 4.4.2 update. I've factory reset the phone several times, got a new sim card, trouble shouted with Verizon.
Why is the data and texting working, but the calling is not?!!
Driving me crazy.
Please advise!!!!
Edit* To make sure I'm clear, I'm trying to use the phone with Verizon, my friend was using with T-Mobile.
It sounds like the CDMA radio is not working.

So do you think it is physically defective?
When I bought the phone off of him it was basically brand new in the box. He had used it less then a week. Not sure where he bought it but the IMEI was clean.
Is there anyway to reset the CDMA settings or anything like that?
Did you call verizon and register the phone with them? I'm curious, don't Verizon/Sprint/RW phones have an ESN in addition to an IMEI for their CDMA radio?
Our imei can be backed up and flashed..only use once every thing is OK...I've used this several times with the mobile network not available problem and it fixes it...I would suggest sbf http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2514095
Do not flash this if your already having problems

if you want to use it on verizon, then buy out a new verizon sim
and please check phone is not related to any older verizon account.
CDMA use MEID/ESN
GSM use IMEI.
If you are trying to use it on a CDMA network, then i do not know what is happening, because my one is not working with GSM, but working with CDMA

Yes, I called verizon and gave them the MEID. In the system settings the the IMEI and MEID are exactly the same except the IMEI has one extra digit at the end (it's a 4).

I have already got a new sim, and the phone is not related to any older verizon account.
When I run the CQATest and choose the sim card test, I get an error that says the Phone ICCID doesn't compare with the SIM ICCID.
The phone ICCID is completely different front the SIM ICCID. The SIM ICCID is the actual number on the sim card. Could this be related?!
I had the same issue after a friend of mine used my VZW MotoX on TMobile.
He upgraded from 4.4 to 4.4.2 while he had it running on TMo. I think that the update applied GSM Radio firmware and not the VZW/CDMA firmware and "broke" the radio.
After .sbf back to VZW stock everything works great

Moto X "SIM from unknown source"

XDA, I've been searching the depths of the interwebz for the past few days trying to find a solution to my problem. The problem being;
My VZW Moto X spits out a "This SIM is from an unknown source" error, followed by "Restricted Access Changed" scrolling across my notification bar when inserting my MetroPCS SIM. I've tried manually selecting the network, and it refuses to connect. I've also tried entering my APN setting manually, but to no avail. So, you guys have any ideas?
I'd post a screenshot in-line, but XDA is being a pain because of my low post count, so check the attachments.

This is slightly unrelated, but I notice your Caller Name ID has expired....
Might I suggest you check out the "Current Caller ID" app. It is published by WhitePages, has similar functionality, and is free.
SIM is from an unknown source when using a non-VZW sim has started happening since flashing 4.4 on my X. It happens on my Galaxy S4 too. I haven't tried on my GS5.
I no of know way around it.
For Metro PCS, at one time they were a CDMA carrier like Verizon. Do they use CDMA in your area still, or are they now GSM only? If they use GSM only, your APN settings must be EXACTLY correct for them to work. If they still use CDMA, then there are some underlying CDMA/EVDO settings on your phone that will likely need to be changed. I know I saw some threads about using QPST and other tools to make edits for other CDMA carriers, but I've not seen it for MPCS.

[Q] Your sim card does not allow a connection to the network

I have a moto X 1st gen here in India. Its unlocked, not rooted. One fine day it thrower me an error "your sim card does not allow a connection to a network". And I am without network in my mobile.
My IMEI is same as in the battery
Device is not rooted
Sim card works fine in other mobiles
Tried different sim cards but still same problem
Didn't fiddled with any network settings.
After reading through XDA threads I did
Cleared data/cache
Restored the stock firmware again.
Did that network menu reset to switch radio on and off many times
Not able to get any network signal at all. Is there anything I am missing?

[Q] droid turbo network problem

I bought my Droid Turbo about two weeks ago to use it in Europe. I checked all freq and bands of my carrier and I also spoke with a guy who is using Droid Turbo in my country (Poland), all was ok. I got my phone and before inserting the sim card I updated to lollipop 5.1 OTA. After inserting my sim card the phone detected my sim and connected with network (LTE). I thought that everyting was ok untill I started using Droid Tubo in a daily basis. The phone is constantly switching networks. Its loosing lte signal switching to 3g for example, then to gsm. After a while its reconnecting but not always, sometimes I have to restart. I was trying almost everything: wiping from recovery, wiping via fastboot, switiching network connections by hidden menu commands, changing apn settings... I noticed that my problem seams to be similar to the problem which was solved by 21.44.8 update which: "Fixes an issue that could prevent proper switching from 3G to 4G LTE. Fixes issues that could trigger a dropped call, prevent a call from going through, show that no service is available or show that a SIM card is not inserted" - this is quote from motorola update release note. This quote very well describes my problem. After doing almost everything what I could I decided to ask for your help, because Im starting to think that this is a hardware issue. I am looking forward for your help and will be very gratefull for any suggestions.

Hello, I have almost the same problem. I recently bought DROID TURBO and i was using it w/o any problem for about a month. and Poland is also my country I did everything like you including update to lollipop before inserting SIM card. Everything with the phone was ok until i tried to change cellular bands in menu to see if it will affect battery life in some way.
Unfortunately my Droid Turbo is now refusing to connect to any network. To be exact: it is logging to my network ( i have checked it on the service hotline of my carrier ) but then after about 3-5 sec. signal bars are greyed and no connection to the network. I've tried three different cards from different carriers and with all a have the same result. Now i cannot use my Droid Turbo as a phone ....... i've tried factory reset, cache cleaning, disabling Verizon apps&services .... nothing... Could someone help me/us, do you have any suggestions ?

Hello again.
The only way i've solved this network problem on non-rooted Lillipop is to install new firmware using Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant for Droid Turbo. You have to run this software and use the rapair button then it downloads new firmware and installs it on your phone.
i have same problem.
just flash last firmware with fastboot
