[Q] My Note doesn't detect sim card

I`ve bought my galaxy note from Malaysia it worked fine for two weeks
after i traveled to egypt it stops detecting sim card
i`ve tried flashing and changing my modem to EGY
still the same
also i tried 2 edit my nv_data but the same
at least i ordered unlock code but when i try 2 enter it it says mobile network unavailable and it doesn't ask me for the nck code
any help i need 2 use my galaxy note asap
When this happened to me I had to reload a rom.
I allready did
i flashed many roms custom and stock with no hope
the thing i cant understand why it doesn't detect any sim card
i wish someone can explain 2 me what should i do
plz help
i have same issues!my phone works perfect and now no sim card!if you find fix it please tell me
Is your Simcard worn or damaged?
Otherwise try another sim card if that ones work (if your phone is simlock free).
No the sim card is working in another phones
i`ve tried so many sim cards also
plus i dont know if its sim free or not but i already buy the unlock code.
the problem is the mobile can not detect the sim card so it doesnt ask for unlock code
anyone know about the gold card for gnote???
is it carrier locked phone??
if your note got warranty then go to Samsung service center. they may tell you what exactly the problem is.
fyi... Malaysia doesn't implemented Sim Lock/Carrier lock for all mobile phones.
I have the same problem every so often. Without dropping the device or any sort of error, the device does not recognize the sim. I went to my cell operator and got a new sim and it still does the same.
i have try many different sim card and still same issue.my note is sim free model
I figured my problem out. Every time i wear tight pants and the phone is in my pocket and I sit down or drive for a longer period of time, the phone twists and molds after my leg and it shuts down or restarts. For me it's not because of the sim-card.
Was that real

Was that really the fix?
I am have the same problem yet it is in my jacket pocket all the time.. would Samsung repair this if there is a custom rom on it??
I had this issue before flashing the rom I flashed to solve yet it didnt

NOTE 5 not recognizing SIM card anymore

so yesterday i swapped SIM cards from iphone 6s and note 5 but the issue is that i'm idiot , because i have inserted the iphone 6s sim tray in the note 5 by mistake :crying: :crying:
then i have gently removed the iphone 6s tray from the note 5 and everything was fine and didn't look like i broke something in the sim card reader , but after inserting the right tray with the sim , my note 5 didn't recognize it , that moment i knew my life turned upside down and became like hell ! , i've been searching in the last 2 days for a solution but i didn't find any tutorial on youtube , i didn't even find sim card reader for sale !!! , i don't even think that i can replace the sim card reader with a new one even if i had the chance to get a new sim card reader because the note 5 sim card reader isn't similar to the other sim card readers
please help meeeeeee , i'm confused i can't even sleep i keep thinking about what would happen if this problem stays for ever ! AND i didn't forget that i'm stupid
thank you
Hi,
I'm Daniel from Brazil,
I've read your history and I'm afraid passing by the same problem,
Early days I update my note 5 for 6.0.1 Indian ROm from SamMobile, and my phone didn't conect on operator network any more, just sinalize Emergency Call Only, So, I thought this was a problem with my new Rom and Since saturday try 12 Rom/s 2 customs and 10 differents between 5.1..1 and 6.0.1.
And them I finally read your topic and came to my mind that before update I change Sim Card from my Note 5 and put by the wrong side the Sim Tray.
I'm thinking that my Sim Card Reader can be broke.
I will sinalize this problem for the TI support tha is analyzing my phone.
Thanks for this topic and i try to see if this can be fixed.
I could say to will try to find a person that fix MotherBoards and can make a laser welding.
In Brazil there is sim tray note 5 to sell:

i just was wondering if i can install dual sim card reader in my note 5 , knowing that it came with 1 sim card reader exactly like your's
and by the way i don't know what makes the single sim reader more expensive than the dual sim reader ! ,
on ebay:
single sim reader reaches 17$
dual sim reader reaches 5$ with free shipping !
what an awkward logic .....
fixed it costed me about 150$

Single SIM to dual SIM

Hey guys,
This is sort of an odd question but I thought it would be worth asking anyway.
I recently bought this phone but then realised it's the single SIM variant. At the time of purchase I didn't appreciate there were two versions. I mean, even the manual says you can put a second SIM instead of the memory card.
Anyway as you can imagine this is very annoying because the shop won't take the phone back "just because". So I looked on eBay and I can buy the dual SIM variant SIM tray.
Do you think I can just replace the single SIM tray with the dual SIM tray and use two SIM cards like a champ? I guess the OS wouldn't recognise the second SIM, would it?
I'd be grateful if someone could shed some light on this issue and let me know what my options are (if any).
Cheers
I mean that is impossible, but you can try to ask a question to Nokia support, maybe

I think it's not possible, dual sims are being flashed with a different firmware version from HMD. Let us know.
Differeent rom flashed? Ok but then this must be because of the second imei that got to be written somewhere in a flash partition. Would the Android os-code be really that different?
I think it would not be possible not because of the different firmware or missing imei2 but because of a possibly missing sim2 slot connection
Check attached pictures of the different sim trays attached and an inside view of the sim slot!

The second IMEI exists!
Trying to type the code *#06# I've found two IMEI number for my TA-1004.
In Settings -> Network menĂ¹, there is SIM Cards section
The only test to do is to buy the dual sim tray and check if it works.

Dual sim version showing only 1 IMEI?

Hello everyone. So i bought a used Moto g6 3gb variant from market last night. So far good experience with the phone so far except one thing.
It was sold to me from dealer saying its a single sim variant but when i came back home it had 2 sims + card options in the tray so i've searched the IMEI on various sites and turns out its a XT1925-2 so it is indeed a dual sim variant.
But when i put *#06# on Dialer it just shows me 1 IMEI number instead of 2? How is this possible?
I could be mixing this up, but I thought the IMEI is based on the device and not the SIM, so a dual SIM device would still have just one IMEI?

Dual-SIM devices are supposed to have two IMEIs. You can't have two SIMs on one IMEI. Avoids problems.
Anyone? Why my cellphone has 2 sim options when theres only 1 IMEI? Is this the work of gypsies? xDDD
Could be that the phone was originally single sim but then flashed with dual sim firmware and had the tray replaced with a dual sim tray. I'm actually waiting on my dual sim tray to do the same on my xperia xz2
SIM TRAY
You can find both imeis on SIM TRAY.
I bought Galaxy S9 plus with dual sim G965FD, and it has same identical imei numbers for both sim slots. I am confused how? Both sim cards are working fine.
I'm having the same issue on my moto g4 after flashing the stock rom usually whenever I flashed the stock rom earlier my imei's turned down to 0 but this time only one imei is showing and even in the settings I'm getting one sim please help
Not the same phone, but I owned two Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (broke the first one after a month...). The first one had different IMEI for each slot. The 2nd one had the same IMEI for each slot. Despite the oddity, I have not run into any issue by using two SIMs in the last 3 years.

please send me imei in a private message. i know a way to find correct details through imei.
too late but maybe is not original phone but chainaillegal copy on mediatek
well after all, imei is more like just an identification of your device for the antennas, so there should be no problem it is as if you just swap your sim card every time you want to use one or the other number, so I dont think there should be any problem using a single IMEI

EE unlock help

Afternoon all. In need of some assistance please.
I have done the IMEI check and it says phone is unlocked.
As soon as I out in another Sim other than EE I get the Sim card isn't supported message please contact EE.
The phone is only 5 months old and has now been purchased outright using anytime upgrade . They say I still have to wait until 6 months and 1 day.
Strange thing is when phone is reset and another Sim instered it starts by showing signal bars and LTE, once activated by WiFi it won't pick up the Sim and comes up with this error.
Phone is running Android 11 beta 3 if that makes a difference.
Reaching out for help please
