Lots of work went I to finding a solution on S4 when knox first came out including by chainfire with no luck. Also since october people have been trying to root note 4 without tripping knox with no luck.
There is no difference in the system of tripped and not tripped. Soon as anything unsigned or insecure is flashed the bootloader burns the efuse

As you can see my idea was a bust but here is the original op
Correct me if I am wrong here, the reason knox is being tripped by cf auto root is because of the way it acquirers root not because it is rooted. With that in mind I would Like to make a tar ball with a pre rooted system.img with knox already disabled. To make sure it will have the best possibility to not trip knox and not cause a soft brick I want to use a system dump from a running phone that has only been rooted and knox disabled. I am pretty sure this has worked on every galaxy phone before the s6 and the only reason you don't hear more about it recently is because of the success of towelroot. I am getting this phone on the 1st (so excited) and would like root but want to try samsung pay more.
If you are willing to help I need the following:
Be on a 100% stock samsung bloated system with root (absolutely no tweaked systems I need pure stock with root)
Install supersu into /system (supersu settings)
Have supersu disable knox (If you know this by itself will trip knox please tell me)
Make a system.img dump with adb or terminal emulator and upload it for me (as long as you do not dump the data partition no personal data will be dumped)
At this point I will make the tarball and upload it and have the person who made the system dump flash the tarball. If he/she boots up fine I will the need a volunteer who has not rooted and verified that knox has not been tripped on his/her phone to flash it and see if knox still has its warranty. Obviously the volunteer should go into this not caring if knox gets tripped.
To make things completely clear I need the following:
Somebody who knows how to dump with adb/terminal emulator and already rooted
Somebody without a tripped knox warranty who doesn't care if it gets tripped
Post a replay if you want to supply the system.img so others know not to.
Closed at OP's request.

Samsung Pay integrates Knox. Rooting your phone trips a Knox flag that can never be reset, and when that flag is tripped, Knox will not authenticate some actions such as Samsung Pay. This means you will not be able to use Samsung Pay any more. Verify your Knox security flag is now 0x1 (tripped/void) instead of 0x0 (secure/intact) to confirm this. I believe this flag is displayed in the bootloader and/or diagnostic menus. Magisk v12 offers an experimental option to fake a 0x0 Knox, if your Knox flag is already void it won't hurt to mod the phone again to try this. I haven't found anyone that has tried to use Samsung Pay after installing Magisk v12 so there are no guarantees if this will work.

Isn't 0x0 Knox the same as 0x1 Knox = 0?

"0x" means hexadecimal, not multiply by zero -_-
Can someone confirm if it works with Magisk v12. Really wish to use Samsung Pay but this tripped Knox thing is annoying.

Magisk v12 vs. KNOX Counter

Hi community,
I have two Samsung devices with Samsung stock ROM:
Galaxy S5 (SM-G901F)
Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition WiFi (SM-P600)
Can I install Magisk on both devices from Magisk-Manager without flasging TWRP and without triggering KNOX?
You can install Magisk through the Manager if you're already rooted, otherwise you'll need a custom recovery. From what I've seen reported in this forum, I think it'll trip KNOX, but since I don't do Samsung I'm not sure.
I'd go with the assumption that it does until you can confirm otherwise. Check the Samsung forums...
Thanks. If I need root or a custom recovery KNOX ever will be 0x1.
So I think we can close this thread.

Can I flash another region ROM using Odin without break the Knox?

I got a N960F/DS (CSC: OXM_MYM). It is Thailand version without Samsung Pay enabled.
Can I flash another country's ROM, certainly under same hardware architecture (N960FXXS2ARK2), without breaking the Knox?
I want to use Samsung Pay at US ...... ......
You can but still you will not get Samsung pay

Hi
I flashed my old S6 with German firmware as I couldn’t wait any longer for O2 U.K. and that was ok but I never used payments on my phone back then... I wonder if it’s the same!?

Did you ever manage to get this to work? I'm in a similar situation.

on the about section in settings, then under status , does the phone still show as "official" ? after you guys successfully flashed other region firmware ? this is a straightforward way to see if the phone is still "knoxed" or not, as i am wondering if the Samsung pay not working is due to georestriction or knox related? Because as i remember with my pre-previous phone the s7e that i rooted, tripped knox resulted in many Samsung apps locked with an original firmware as Samsung health, pass, pay secure folder etc but otherwise still usable.
Just remember that since the S7, once the phone is rooted or knox is triggered there is no way back even if you flash the original firmware and completely unroot it, knox is like an electric fuse and once it is broken there is no way to "unroot" or restore knox to official status except replace the motherboard (until s6 root and knox was software and fixable by flashing original firmware but since s7 knox counter is hardware)
Manage to change region by following this thread.
But I'm not using spay so can't confirm if it will make spay work or not. Knox won't be tripped so nothing to lose if you try it

Question samsung pass not work with root

hello there
plz i need help.. how i can hide root for samsung pass?
Once you've rooted your device, you won't be able to use Samsung Pass. I don't think Magisk can hide it.
yes i try to hide samsung pass but still not working ..
AFAIK Samsung Pass is linked to Knox which is inhibited once the bootloader was unlocked....
You've tripped Knox so Samsung Pass will never work again.
You dun goofed
Yep. The others have already said it. You've rooted your phone... Which requires you to unlock your bootloader.... Which permanently trips Knox and prevents a bunch of Samsung apps (Samsung Pass included) from ever working again on that device.
You're SOL if you happen to need Samsung Pass and should've read through one of the three hundred threads on this forum section that have already mentioned this in the past few weeks lol.
