Samsung Flow Can't Transfer Over More Than 1 Attempt - Samsung Galaxy A71 Questions & Answers

Hello. I have Samsung Flow latest version installed on Windows 10. I can successfully transfer a single file but attempting to transfer more files just leaves status in transfer progress but never completes the transfer. I can transfer multiple files but if I want to transfer again, I get transfer in progress that never completes.
Unpairing and pairing again does not do anything. Terminating app seems to solve it until it happens again which makes the software not as useful. Terminating an app does not do anything. Also disabling Phone Link and Link to Windows running in parallel does not affect anything. I don't want to use Samsung Flow with USB cable. Excluding software process and it's other process from Firewall also did not do anything.

[SOLVED] Not able to connect diamond to system in 'Disk Drive' Mode

Hello Friends,
I got a new HTC Touch Diamond about two days ago. I'm very eager to transfer my songs to it and when I tried to do so by connecting the phone to the system in 'Disk Drive' mode, it didn't work.
Each time I would connect the phone to my system and select the Disk Drive mode, the below would happen:
1. I'll see a 'New Disk Drive found' notification in my system tray.
2. The add new hardware wizard would come up with a message stating that there was a problem installing the new drive.
These two steps would keep on repeating untill I unplug the phone.
Though, I can connect the phone in ActiveSync mode without any issues.
If anyone of you has faced this issue, please let me know what needs to be done? Am I missing something?
Note: I had an older version of ROM (ROM version: 1.93.720.2) when I got the phone and I updated to ROM version: 1.93.720.4. I faced this issue both the times.
I have never used the disk drive mode. This restricts you from doing many things. I would suggest transferring all your files through activesync in the normal "Explore" way. This way may take a bit longer to transfer your files, but you can also sync them (the music ones) with your pc if you have Vista.....

I agree that it applies a few restrictions, however, transferring files via this mode is much faster.
I appreciate your reply, yet I need to get the disk drive mode working.
Thanks,

try changin another usb port, i suspect the port is faulty.. or change another cable.. i encounter such issue before and it turn out dat my usb port is acting weird..
Is possible to have an issue with windows drivers.
If the phone is working in active sync mode with the same port and cable, is not that.
While is connected as Disk Drive in device manager in USB section are you seeing it as storage?
If is there try from computer management\disk management to see if the partition from the phone is ok.
Best regards,
[SOLVED] Not able to connect diamond to system in 'Disk Drive' Mode Reply to Thread
This problem is solved for me now.
It appeared that the problem lay with my system and not the phone. I removed unneccesary programs and "cleaned" my system by using a trial version of System Mechanic v8.
I tried connecting after and now both disk drive mode and activesync mode work for me.
Thanks,

[Q] Galaxy Note to iMac and Storage Question

How do I connect my phone to my computer? I prefer charging via my computer (not sure if recommend) and it would be nice to be able to put music and pictures on via my iMac (running newest version of Lion). I don't have an SD card, so maybe it's just not picking it up cause I don't have one?
But I downloaded the Android app, which says it requires Android 3.0 or higher, but I tried it and it just crashes whenever my phone is plugged in.
I don't understand the way the memory is done on this phone, why does it have "usb memory" and why does it have to load every time I turn the phone on?
Why isn't it all just phone memory? To me thats basically "you have 2GB for phone stuff, the rest is just for music and picture". Can you put apps on there? and phone stuff?

To Connect iMac with android, I recommend you androidfiletransfer (you Can find it on the web)
Difficult to explain the storage system of android but "sd card" is for internal storage while the common sd card is indicated as "external_sd"

Like I said in my post. It says it requires 3.0 or higher. Note runs 2.6.3 so can't use it.

Sounds odd to me, given that I have Note too.
Other way could be to install kies for mac, even though I read somewhere that the last version doesn't recognize Note.
The fact is that I used to have kies for mac on my macbook but I uninstalled it and the note is still recognized as usb storage (when I connect Note to usb, I need to connect the Note by clicking on "connect" on the notification window).
Does usb icon appear on your notification bar?
Other possible problem could be Lion, I use snowleopard so I can't say if the problem is due to the new iOSX.
Bytheway, just to answer your other question: no, it's preferrable to charge Note via domestic plug. The charger is 1A, specifically for Note

There is a USB logo on the notification on my phone. And when I go into setting on my iMac it says connected android, but can't click on it from them. and it doesn't show anywhere else.
On my sisters android whenever I would connect it it would pop up with something on her phone choosing what mode to put the phone in. Not doing that on my one.
edit: I've downloaded Kies.. but isn't picking up my phone.
edit 2: Says it only works with certain phones
Try Airdroid if you're on the same network, it's a pretty awesome app.

Why dont you just use the mass storage mode? Plug it in and the internal memory will show up like a usb drive on your desktop.
are you using mtp mode or have you selected usb debugging?

[Q] Processor overheating & battery draining due to USB mass storage mode.

A while ago after transfering some files to/from my PC via USB mass storage mode I unplugged the USB cable without doing a Safe Disconnect on the PC. Immediately after this, the processor (or something in the lower right corner) on my Droid 3 started overheating and draining the battery very quickly, as if I was running some very pretentious 3D game or something.
I found some discussions on the Net that lead me to look under Settings / Applications / Battery use to find that an application called "Media" was overusing the processor and causing the overheating and drainage, so I force-stopped that one and the problem went away.
But now every time I connect the phone to a PC in USB mass storage mode, I get the same problem and after I'm done transfering files I have to force-stop the "Media" application. (This is even if I use Safe Disconnect or whatever it's called on the PC.)
I've seen some other suggestion today that I should try the same operations with the SD card pulled out, but the same thing happens even in the absence of the SD card.
Does someone know how I can reset/reinstall the "Media" application or service that handles USB mass storage mode without resetting the whole thing to factory settings or reinstalling the whole Minimoto image?
Boy, I think I remember reading somewhere that this might happen if you have a media file that is malformed. In other words, the media app scans all available storage for media files to put in the gallery (or something like that) and gets hung up when it encounters a media file that has errors in it.
I'm not sure about that, but it might be worth copying to PC and then removing all photo, music and video files from internal storage and the SD card and then see if that still happens. Then look at the files on the computer to make sure that they are good before you put them back on the phone.
My only issue with this theory is that I recall it was an issue with phones that updated from Gingerbread to ICS a few years ago, so maybe that has nothing to do with what you are seeing...
Thanks for the suggestion, it pointed me in the right direction.
I didn't like the idea of a simple copy operation solving a corrupt file problem, so I started looking for ways to run a chkdsk/fsck on my internal drive (since taking out the SD card hadn't eliminated the problem earlier, I assumed something was wrong on the internal drive). All the solutions I found for this involved using ADB and rebooting into some "recovery mode" and that too seemed like too much hassle, so I insisted on searching for some app that could do at least some limited filesystem checks that maybe wouldn't involve unmounting the system drive.
In the end I found something called "AParted", an ad-supported free partition manager that looks like it wants to be the Android homologue of GNOME's GParted, KDE's KParted etc. Of course, while running AParted from the system drive I couldn't perform any operations on the system drive itself, so I said "what the heck" and just ran a Repair operation on the SD card, which was the only one I could unmount in that situation.
Lo and behold, the problem seems fixed now and I'm not getting any more overheating and battery drainage after connecting my Droid to the PC in USB Mass Storage mode (tested with two PCs running Ubuntu and Windows 7).

Wireless Media Transfer: Cannot Pair With Windows 7 PC

I have a new Z3C and want to use the Wireless Media Transfer option but I cannot get the device to pair with a Windows 7 x64 PC (I've tried two PCs now). I have the device in MTP mode, but when I right-click on "Xperia Z3 Compact" and choose the "Network Configuration" option the wizard hangs while trying to transfer the settings. I even installed PC Companion, and made sure everything is up-to-date but I just cannot get it to work.
I want to use this feature so I can access my micro SD card without messing with the flaps: transferring music and tag editing using mp3tag are essential to me and I don't want to wear out those delicate little flaps!
Well I tried pairing wireless with Win. 7 and failed too, don't know exactly what's the problem. My suggestion would be to use ES explorer though. You can add your PC to the LAN tab by entering the internal IP and just copy to the internal memory (no SD card access thanks to Google). From there the preinstalled File Commander can move your music to SD.

Had the same issue on Win7, hang while transferring settings. On the 3rd attempt it did pair successfully. I noticed that windows was installing a device driver on the first pairing attempt, maybe that just needed to complete first.
The Transfer Settings stage does take a while, so it may just look like it's hanging. How long did you try it? Also you may need to allow portable devices access in your firewall (as the popup advises).
I left it a good 10 minutes. No drivers were being installed and no firewall popups appeared (I don't use the Windows software firewall).
Same here (64bit) win 8.1 I let it run until the 'can't complete' dialogue shows
Having the same issue here - anyone else fixed it until now ?
It happens to me at first... But if you will make screen time out more like 10 + min, while pairing configuration it does connect. Its because of screen goes off then it wont connect.

What helped me was making sure the screen didn't turn off, might be an idea too to temp disable Stamina while it goes through its process, it does take a while.

I had the same problem, solved it this way (hope I remember correctly)
on phone:
- set screen sleep to 30 minutes (Settings - Display - Sleep)
- turn off stamina mode (Settings - Power Management)
-plug into PC with USB
on PC:
- "Computer", right click "Xperia Z3 Compact" and select "Network Configuration"
- Click through with "Next/OK" until you get the screen that says something about "transfering settings" (or something like that) where it seemed to hang on previous attempts.
...and now the most important part - WALK AWAY!! Make a sandwich or something, come back in 30 mins and all should be OK - it's not actually hanging, just looks unresponsive while it does it's thing - be patient.
Good luck!
I did pair with PC using USB. The problem I have is that it hangs for 1 or 2 minutes while trying to connect to PC with WI-FI. Then it fails. I try for like 15 times, then for no reason it works. It only happens when I'm using my home wi-fi. I tried to connect with a friend's wifi, and it worked in a few seconds.

Increasingly difficult to connect phone to pc for file transfer

I'm having increasing difficulty connecting my phone to any of my pcs. It started with additional time being taken for the pc to recognize the device. Now I get lots of freezes if I try to navigate to the internal or sd card, sometimes freezing up windows explorer. Recently, I have been unable to create new folders on the device from windows without freezing up windows explorer and now my files and folders are not populating correctly. I named a folder ppsspp on my device, it shows up in windows as "New Folder" across several devices and freezes the explorer if I try to interact with it.
Today I am unable to transfer anything to my device and connecting to the pc just freezes up explorer about 4 out of 5 times I connect it. Any advice? I't like my phone's connection to PCs are consistently degrading.
