Question Why is my Redmi 9T power button heating up? - Redmi 9 Power / 9T

This issue started yesterday and I tried rebooting but the power button still heats up fast after starting up the phone. All the heat is concentrated on the power button where the fingerprint sensor is also located. What could be the cause of this issue?
Also, the battery temperature and other spots of the phone seem normal
Edit: I can't unlock my phone via fingerprint, it's probably because of this heat issue as well
Edit 2: Now that I wanted to try removing fingerprint unlock, it's nowhere to be found in the security and passwords settings

it seems your fingerprint is conked off and related component such as the IC or resistor was heating up.

Do I need to bring my phone to the service center immediately or can I hold off for a few day?

If its not heating anymore i think its okay to hold off, however if it still heating you should take it, as it could ruin the motherboard.

[Q] touch problem

few days ago i was calling, when i finished talking i just wanna hang up the phone but the end button didn't work, i slide down the status bar and tried to hang up from there, it didn't work neither there, i got mad! and pull the battery. when i power it up the touch wasn't working. i changed the ROM > no answer, changed the kernel and radio > no answer, got the RUU ROM on it > no answer, but sometimes when it's fully charged it'll work but when the battery drains or i do not use the screen the problem come back.
and when the touch is not working if the display goes off, it won't wake up again while the phone is on itself.
any ideas?

Seems like power circuit malfunction. Make sure you're using original HTC wallcharger and cable. Also you should definitely cold-boot your phone: pull out the battery, hold the power button for 15-20 seconds OR leave it without battery for an hour (this is to discharge capacitors on the circuit board).
Next, you should try something, but it is optional of course, you should discharge yourself of the static charge. Touch something conductive and grounded.
Then put the battery back on, try to turn on your phone. If the problem still persists, there are two possible reasons: either you killed something with static charge inside your phone or something on the circuit board is malfunctioning due to the use of non-original wallcharger.
It could actually sound lame, but yes, the best charger is the original one, in the meaning of its specifications, quality and a holy spirit. My HTC One X touchscreen goes wild if I connect it to the new Apple wallcharger, even though it has exactly the same specs as the original one.
UPD: and yes, it is possible to kill a touchscreen with a static charge in some cases. Any capacitive touchscreen panel is a thin piece of glass/plastic which contains a matrix of small, almost transparent semi-conductive capacitors. You can clearly see it on the very bright sun. This matrix is a very sensitive piece of electronics and it could get damaged by the static charge.

If there aren't any dead spots, I mean - if your touchscreen performs well in other situations, then it shouldn't be problem caused by the digitizer.
Someone correct me if I am wrong. :highfive:

[Q] What does this flex cable connect?

Can someone tell me what this flex cable is connecting?
My phone would sometimes spontanously freeze and switch off, showing the 3 red leds and just stops responding. It won't even take a charge. Usually the battery is at 60% when the phone dies, and sometimes it shows a constant RED led.
The back cover is loose (but has enough adhesive to actually stick reasonably, takes little force to open it up), so I pressed that connector with medium force. The next thing that happened, is that the phone responded to the charger, booted to the "charging state", where it shows the battery state and so on (which it shows it's approx on 60%.
Or could it be that I press something else, which causes my phone to work properly again?

Thanks/Hvala!
But do you know what could be faulty on this specific point, which causes my phone to not charge? Can I find somewhere a complete guide to the disassembly and identification of all parts? It would make it alot easier for me . My phone is running again, going strong at 65% and still discharging for the last 3 hours. I'm logging the microVolts, temperature and other stats from the battery to see if it's the battery causing the malfunction, which I doubt.
Anyway, there should be something. By the way, prior to the issues, my phone dropped flat on the screen on tiles, about 1 meter high. So most likely, there is something loose/messed up. But I don't know what causes the entire system to flash the LED 3 times, saying that the battery is drained, yet after pressing on this point, immediately start up while on the charger.

Please PM me. (you speak croatian?)

My c6603 won't turn on. Red led and dead battery

When connected to charger:
-The red LED flashes, and it does not react to the power button, I tried every combination, no use
When not connected to charger:
-Nothing works, it does not show even slight signs of life
The problem happened when I was replacing the front camera because the camera stopped working. The next thing was it won't turn on. It may be a faulty camera that caused a short circuit. I was not sure, so I opened it, tested the battery with multimer, it did not provide any output. Then I checked the pins on the motherboard, and it showed 1.12V exactly.
I know from other phones that the voltage that motherboard gives is usually higher, around 4V so I'm not sure if the issue is on the motherboard or in the battery itself. The weird thing is that the battery was charged, around 50% and now it does not even react.
Any help will be appreciated.
EDIT: I found the problem on my battery flex cable. The service that worked on my phone before must have damaged the flex and it was making direct contact on the motherboard. Luckily it caused the battery circuit to fail and not to damage the motherboard.

MI MAX 2 , Not charging or Booting after it got shutdown due to battery was low

Hello Team, any one have got issues with MI MAX2 , as one day it switched off while playing mindcraft game , battery went low, now even if I charge with multiple devices, their is no charging light or if if you hold power button it wont power on. No Mi Logo...
Tried volume up/down combination , tried to connect all the connector's , still same issue..
One thing noticed while charging , the adapter wont heat up , nor any component on the mobile like battery , which was happening in normal working condition
Tried EDL (Emergency Download) , no response on PC device manager.
Please suggest....

I would recommend a very long charging session ( over night ) because if battery switches off caused of low power, it is very slow in recharge.

I tried to keep for 2 days , same issue.
Today I tried with new charging board, their is same issue, no power , no charging, no heat. 5 v is present during charging on main board.
Charging circuit
Any one is having the details for charging circuit on Main board , how to test ?
Same problem here, you got any luck?
Happened 2nd time, first time I connected it to xiaomi power bank and it started charging, but this time no luck with that method
(it could be that it was pure luck/coincidence)

I am unable to find the power IC part number as PCB is bonded with metal cover, I need to remove and check further , I did checked other component with millimeter its fine and getting normal battery voltage, I tried new battery and charging PCB, no luck , no power light on mobile or charger is heating, hence suspecting power IC failure , trying to source it to replace it my self.

I solved my problem...it was software...it seems it (wrongly) detected that battery is totally empty, and entered some kind of "refresh battery" mode.
I used USB voltage/current meter and noticed that it didn't charge at all for 2h (0A), then went through 3 phases: 0.46/0.32/0.13A, and after about 48h
I was able to power it on. Can't tell exactly how long each phase lasted, as I wasn't checking all time

Similar to the one used in this video:

Mi Max 2
I have the same problem and happens yesterday. How did you fix the problem...?
i just encountered this same problem. its been plugged in, but not charging
I am having similar issue with no response and sometime it response to power button and button combinations but turn off right before starting.it's rom issue I felt in first place but now I feel I bricked it. Any solution
I also encountered the same problem, but I quickly solved it. I made a video to share with you

Mi5 seems bricked, after unplug and plug the battery connector it works again.

Hello,
I have a strange behaivoir with my Xiaomi Mi5. Occasionaly it turns suddenly immediatly off and doesn't react to anything. Not charging, recovery mode or something else working, absolutely nothing as if there is no current/battery inside. I've opened the phone, removed the top plastic cover that hides the battery connector, unplugged the battery connector and plugged it again. After that it boots normaly up, and some hours later the same happens again.
I thought that it was a mechanical problem and that the connector is accidently unplugging it by itself, so I replaced the battery. But the same problem presists with the new battery too (original) and the connector is everytime tight in the socket so I dont thing that he jumps out.
Does someone have an idea? I have at least once a day to open the phone to reconnect the battery connector to bring it to life, very annoying.
Thank you!
I had the same problem. Been unplug -> plug in the battery connector 3 - 4 times a week, sometimes it turns off once a day. I guessed the problem is the faulty motherboard, after buying a cracked mi 5 to replace my mi 5's mobo, the problem disappeared.
Then I put the "faulty" motherboard into a cracked mi 5, underclock the phone (1.7 big 1.3 small) the problem "magically" disappeared. 3 days from that day and it still keeps the stable streaks.
