Long time ago i needed an app to be cleared the cache everyday, but i have not kept that tasker stuff.
You do need to make a task with the start and stop things, and also a profile that starts at a certain time and then starts the task you made.

Why do apps start themselfs.

When I load up taskiller, sometimes I will see apps open that I haven't even used for several days. Why do they do that?
They run as services.
What "running as a service" means
Services do things periodically, usually pretty often, like load your sms's and update your email, show something on your home screen as a widget, or know what time it is so your alarm clock goes off. In order to do what they do, they have to be running something, so they run in the background as services.
Try looking in the Market for Advanced Task Manager, or Close Everything. Both of these will close anything that's not needed as a service, but be warned, it'll shut downsome things, like Locale, Autolock, or Owner Info too unless you check them off as exceptions.
i have advance task manager and in the processes tab shows a few things is there anything there i can turn off?

Apps starting randomly?

Why do several apps randomly start up?
It feels like I constantly have to open task killer and kill over a dozen apps even when my phone hasn't been touched since the last time I killed almost the exact same list of apps.
Att Navigator, stocks, countdown, etc. seem to be the regular culprits. Any help with this situation would be awesome.
I've noticed the same thing on my Aria. AT&T Navigator always restarts by itself and I've never even used it. So I just set ATK to auto kill.
Look at the sync settings and you can disable things you dont need (News, stocks etc)
A "Running" app behaves differently on android. The app may be "Running" but it is also "Sleeping" which means that it may not be using any resources (battery, cpu, etc).
Using a task killer may actually be hurting your performance and battery life.

I just check the running apps on my Aria and I understand why every single one is running. AT&T Nav is NOT running. You should check all the widgets you are using, having the widget on the home screen start app automatically.
If you're rooted....
I can't tell you why it does it, but I can tell you how to stop it. If you're rooted, spend the $.89 (approx.) for Autostarts. One of the best programs I've installed.
I was having the same issue, I use AT&T Nav, but it always seemed to show up on the task list even when I hadn't started it. For whatever reason, it's set to start whenever you get a text message! With Autostarts I was able to stop it (along with many other things).
Best of luck to you!

Click to collapse
One caveat to this, BE CAREFUL. This is a powerful program and it will let you stop just about any service/program on your phone. You could really do some damage if you don't watch it.

How to Exit app before Return Home

I'm using MileStone, but when I run apps, they always suspend, not exit => so mine works more and more slows when I run many apps
I check out in Settings, but I still dont know to exit apps then return home every time I click back
Please tell me how to do it
Thank you very much
anyone help me please
download advanced task manager or task killer
I recommend Auto Mem Manager on the Market, a freeware, just choose the "aggressive" profile.
AND, as for how to exit app, I suggest you try to press "back" button when you wanna exit this app, not directly press "home" button.
reply to the OP
Let me explain to you the logic behind this, simply your application is not closed but it enter what is called hibernate mode where it will not consume too much memory and at the same time when you will open the application again you can resume what you was doing.
I belive that this is a smart action form Android OS where you will not find in WM or Symbian (maybe Apple OS).
if you want to get rid of it, please install Advanced Task Manager and from the setting use what ever setting that might suite you.
For me i use the following setting:
Auto Kill Level --> Safe
Auto Kill Frequecny --> Every One Hour
Security Level --> Meduim
With the above setting, i didn't face any performance problem and reduced reboot frequency (General Problem in the Android).
Feel free to ask any question and I will be ready for you
Has anyone come accross a way to make for example a long press of the back button always close (exit) a program....and the Home button would leave it suspended or hibernated. I completely understand what they are trying to achieve by going the 'no exit/close' route, but it is really annoying that it isn't even an option for me. I think it totally defeats the idea of a homepage on your internet browser now. Every time I open the browser, I have to mess around with 10 back button presses or manually open a bookmark. Would be nice to be able to hit back or home if you plan on returning...or just long press back to fully exit whatever you are doing. I've installed a few task manager programs, but haven't found anything that is that easy, or that works on the Atrix.
I have been searching for exactly the same thing myself, mainly because I want to shutdown a crashed or frozen app in one foul swoop!
In the froyo days I used 'Quick Exit Froyo' by long pressing search. This would take me to Android Application Manager where you can hit 'Force Close'
2 presses wasn't good enough for me so I then found 'EXIT - task killer' which creates an 'x' at the top right corner of the screen. Just tap it and the current app shuts down. However, this doesn't work on Gingerbread 2.3.
I'm now searching for one that will work with 2.3, but I will probably have to root my Desire.

[APP][5/3/14] ScreenshotSaver - keep reading while nook sleeps

update: a cleaner approach is discussed here
Hello everybody,
I made this app, which takes a screenshot of the nook every 1:50 minutes and saves it to /media/screensavers/ScreenshotSaver.
the idea:
When the nook goes to sleep after 2 minutes of inactivity, instead of showing a useless screensaver, keep showing whatever it was doing so I could keep reading my book/grocery list/map/whatever, without waking up the nook. Thus saving both battery and annoyance.
usage:
the app launcher simply toggles screenshots taking on and off. State is maintained between reboots.
On the first run it also creates the folder /media/screensavers/ScreenshotSaver, so after the first run you should go and change your screensaver to ScreenshotSaver.
I hope someone would find this thing useful.

Auto Turn off Apps

Hi guys,
I have my MI 5 a few days I'm happy with it and now I'm testing it
So today I was running and I used Endomodo for save my workout
It use GPS to Record where and how much you run but when I finish it had nothing and I had some message like that "you are losing gps sign maybe your system kill this process to save battery see you settings"
I was tried to change my settings but I see nothing for it.. somebody know what I need to change?
I dont have any other program for battery or to kill apps
Cheers
Apps like Endomondo requires continuous location access, change Settings->Additional Settings->Battery & Performance->Manage apps' battery usage->Choose Apps->Endomondo->No restrictions + Allow background location.
