I'm in the US & using a 9T with ATT...my question is if there is an Engineering menu option to add/remove frequencies? I remember in years past with other phones you could shut off the frequencies you didn't need & had the option to activate frequencies that were what you needed..... This phone is working well for ATT (2 of the 4 LTE frequencies are supported) with the added codes for enabling WiFi Calling (*#*#86583#*#* & *#*#869434#*#*) I'm just looking to optimize the phone a bit more.....

Can anyone confirm if my XDA will work with a 3 network card (in the UK) not sure what freq. they use?
Thanks
3 (3g / utms) can never be supported by a gsm phone
so you will never get the fast speed or video phone support
but since the utms covering is poor 3 also support gsm
and use other operators when their signal is too low
your xda should be supported in gsm mode
the freq. and gsm ONLY relates to EU vs, US where us use 900/1900 and eu use 900/1800
not sure if 3 will have gprs and mms support though i would try doing a search in the forum since it have been up before
i had a 3 usim in my xda and i could make & recieve calls, sms recieve only. but 3 sent me a updated sim(i didn't request one) and switched off the original one. Now none of my phones work with 3 sim, apart from my 3 phone!
Thanks guys. Guess none of the latest "3G" sims will work with the XDA.
Cheers!
hi guys,
i've googled a bit but didnt find what i was looking for.... i've been using an iphone for quite a while before switching to the diamond2 - on my iphone i was able to deactivate 3g/hsdpa and only use edge, which improved battery life by one third. is this possible with the diamond2 as well?
thanks in advance.
Yes, telephone keypad [dialer], menù, option, Band and you can choose GSM or WCDMA
i live in austria and as far as i'm informed there is only gsm, no wcdma? or do you mean to only select gsm, not umts networks? if so, i don't think that's possible, because i can only choose:
gsm (900+1800) + umts (900+2100)
gsm (1900+850) + umts (1900+850)
umts(2100+800)
tia
there s 2 drop down lists - choose the first - it should have a choice of auto / gsm / utms - the second drop down contains the frequency - leave this on auto
There is a very nice app that allows you to enable or disable 3G in the Comm-Manager

I changed by accident a radio band to usa band (by phoneinfo). How to return to European version. I tried to upload different roms but no effects. I saw a post about le max 2 but not mine. Any ideas?
Dial *#*#4636#*#* Select Phone Information and select radio band from 3 dot option button on top right.
In this way I broke phone. There was only one band - USA. In others ROMs also I had only one choice - USA band, even stock ROM. Thanks to this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/how-to/guide-unlock-bands-leeco-le-max-2-fix-t3439154 phone log on to the network. 5 minutes ago I made the first conversation. But I don't now about stability. I chose the frequency according to the attached screen in that post. In LE2max there is another processor (820 not 652). The changes appear now 3 options - USA Band/ JAPAN Band/ Band mode 6.
Would anyone be able to install DFS Studio and make a two screens with original frequencies (read for RF BC Config and read Bands Preffered)?
Hello all,
I recently changed my phone carrier, and I noticed phone doesn't go in LTE+ mode anymore. Apparently, the phone is able to aggregate band 3 and 1, which was the combination my previous carrier was using, but not 3 and 7.
I read a bit around, and found out some useful discussion here:
http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=392070&pid=10016974
which gave me the opportunity to understand how to set the carrier aggregation on different bands, and avoid to add any combination on band 7 which apparently isn't managed properly.
So, I used QXDM to change the nvram values on band 3 CA (default is 5, which is band 3+1 aggregation), and my phone was able to aggregate 3+7 bands, but that leads to a loop between LTE+ and LTE, which ends with phone in H.
After reverting the changes, phone goes normally in LTE.
Is there any way to enable Carrier aggregation on Mi 5, on combinations not originally present in the firmware? Or does Mi 5 lack the hardware to do so?

I dont really have the technical knowledge, but if you look at some of band 1 configs, there's a few values that are set for carrier aggregation that are not set for other bands. I think we need to configure a few more things than just enabling the CA values. Been trying to figure this out for some time. Too bad i don't have any other phone with proper ca support to compare
does the *#*#717717#*#* only works in MIUI ? currently using OMNI rom

There are some, only usable one in Italy is on band 3, it aggregates 3 and 1, but is really rare operators use this config.
You can enable the engineering mode with adb
Hello,
I use the Three network in the UK with an unlimited data plan and they provide a service called 4G Super-Voice also know as VoLTE.
To get this working I had to flash my Note 9 with the 3 firmware which is annoying because of the boot screens but its worth it for VoLTE.
Anyway, I can only access 4G Super-Voice if I put my phone in aeroplane mode and then off aeroplane mode. I then can see using *#0011# that I am using band 20 which is used for 4G Super-Voice.
With this, I can access VoLTE, better signal and faster 4G speeds. But after 30seconds it goes back to Band 3 and I no longer have access to VoLTE and the faster speeds Band 20 offers.
I have had a look online and a few people have fixed this on other devices by only letting the phone access Band 20 and disable the rest. On my Note 9 when I try entering Service mode using *#2683662# I'm left with a blank screen with no options to select. Not sure if 3 have locked this on there firmware or if I'm accessing the menu wrong. Any Help is much appreciated. Thank You

Yes, you can lock out certain bands while allowing others, but the *#2683662# code has been deprecated in the latest models/firmwares.
Enter this diag code *#2263# or *#2766338378#, tap LTE Bands Preferences, one by one deselect all the bands you don't want (especially band 3), tap on Go Home or Go Back/Previous, and finally tap on Apply Band Configuration. If you did everything correctly your phone should no longer pick up the unwanted bands.
Here's some more information about this issue.
