Question Portable hotspot not found by PC - POCO M3 Pro / Redmi Note 10 5G

Neither my PC or Laptop can detect when my Redmi Note 10 5g portable hotspot is active (on either sim card), however my XBOX and other phones can detect it. My PC and laptop can detect my own wifi (and my neighbours), and I also reinstalled Windows 10 on the PC and it still will not detect the Redmi portable hotspot. I have tried in 2.4GHz and 5GHz, and all sorts of online suggestions but nothing works. Any ideas? Is this something to do with MIUI? Thanks

Using the td2 for an internet connection for a laptop

I'm trying to set my laptop up to use the td2 to get a connection to the internet. can this be done either via bluetooth wiFi or USB. I have tried to add a bluetooth network connection but the laptop keeps giving an error saying could not connect to the remote device.
When I plug mine into my laptop via USB, I get an option on the device to 'internet share'. Does this not happen for you? I'm not sure whether Windows Mobile Device Center is also needed, but it may be!
I did this today using a Macbook. The USB did not work on the Mac but Bluetooth did. I had to connect to the phone from the computer using ordinary bluetooth first (without network). Then I had to choose Internet Connection on the phone using Bluetooth PAN - which I assume is Bluetooth network. Also had to select Bluetooth PAN on Macbook - was a bit fiddly but it worked. Anyway it does work with USB on the PC see post 16 of the thread here.
cheers both, i will check out the other thread but when I connect the phone via USB to this (work) laptop, I get nothing. My home one uses Vista and Mobile Device Centre, but my work one uses XP.
typically, after a reboot the phone gives of the option to shart internet sharing but the laptop wants to install a rndis connection, but the only way to do this is connect to internet. ironic.
Ok, finally have a proper Interenet connection and downloaded Activesync 4.5 from MS. This looks like it will resolve the situation.

Tethering Internet Connection

Hi,
I have very bad WIFI signal in my room and my computer is connected via cable to router at 1 Gb/s connection so no problem. The problem is when I try to use my devices in my room that I have very slow speeds on WIFI so I was wondering if I can connect my Lumia 435 to the PC and the Lumia take the computer internet connection and make a hotspot for other devices. It's called reverse tethering but I don't know how to setup this type of connection beetween my PC and Lumia 435 with Windows Phone 8.1
You need a wifi adapter. Is like a usb pendrive.
Have you looked at connectify?
I think that software does that too
If your computer has a WiFi adapter you can easily set it to broadcast as an access point, sharing its wired connection. For Windows, there's a pretty nice program called Virtual Router Manager, though you can do it with nothing but an admin command line and the "netsh" utility (built in).
If your computer doesn't have a WiFi adapter, you can pick one up for cheap (less than $20, usually). I don't know of any way to reverse tether a Windows Phone device, though. The phone can, of course, broadcast a hotspot, but it will only do so to share the cellular connection; it won't share the connection from any other source.

Connecting to Macbook Air

I'm unable to get the MacBook to recognize that the phone is plugged in. The phone prompts whether to charge or MTP/PTP but changing that mode does not get the Mi Mix recognized as being connected. Anyone have any advice? Kind of new to Mac. Never have an issues with my Windows 10 desktop
Maybe you need this:. https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
Android is not natively browsable in MacOS.
Try out this app - it also allows connecting Xiaomi devices (as well as all Android devices) to Mac

Note 8 Connecting to Mac

Hi I'm wondering if anybody is able to help.
I have a Note 8 and would like to connect it to my 2017 iMac running High Sierra. When I plug my Note 8 in it automatically launches Android file transfer and file transfer usb mode on the phone but I get "Could not connect to device, Try reconnecting or restarting your device". The phone is in the correct mode and knows it's connected to a Mac as it advises I download AFT or Samsung Switch.
The Note connects to a older 2009 MacBook without a glitch and the only difference being I get a Allow prompt every time it connects to the MacBook and not the iMac. (This seems to be the issue not having an allow prompt)
I have reinstalled AFT and are using the supplied USB C cable.
I previously owned a Nexus 6 which connect to the iMac with out issue.
I have just tried a Galaxy Xcover 3 and same issue so it seems to be a Samsung related problem
Many Thanks
install smart switch for mac samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/smart-switch
Android file transfer is shi* for Samsung ---mac

Connection problem with Android Auto and VW's App Connect

Hi,
neither my Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 (xiaomi.eu beta) nor the Xiaomi Redmi 5 (stock Xiaomi) of my girlfriend can successfully connect to a new VW Golf 7. Both are running latest MIUI version, everything up to date. Data connection is enabled, USB Debugging too, we tried several cables, no Dual Apps. Once a phone is connected and Data Connection is chosen an error is displayed that a connection is not possible, USB then switches back to charging.
This is very frustrating. I found many reports about problems, most of them could be solved by using different cables or disabling Dual App. Both Xiaomis should work with Android Auto and App Connect, at least that's what (some) people claim.
Any ideas what to test?
I use AA on a 2019 VW Polo with my Mi 9. I dont choose data transfer, just charging is enough. You need to download latest AA app and i dont have USB debugging enabled because data transfer with USB debugging always causes trouble.

I had the same problem on my mk7 jetta and in my case it was caused by having the USB modem activated on my phone (I often use my phone as a WiFi USB modem for a desktop computer not equipped with WiFi card). Turning back every USB option to normal/off did the trick for me. USB debug is not required.
Did you fix erro?
Helo, did you fix erro? I'm with the problem like you!
