Hello,
i've just upgraded to the latest official OTA FW 3.08.405.3
Sense3.0 is great, but i cannot turn on mobile network anymore - i tried it both via Quick settings and Wireless settings menus - it cannot be enabled. And even worts is that it doesn't report any error msg and the 3G sign doesn't appear on status bar. There is noting in the log too...
Does anyone has the same problem?
I just wrote a mail to HTC support, but don't know if they track this as support channel...
This is terrible - i can't live without mobile network connection ...please help!
10x

This might sound weird, but is there anything in APN setting?
Try to mess with the toggles. I have had similar problem. I constantly turned airplane mode on/off and switched from GSM to WCDMA. Finally it goes, if this isn't related to apn. Hope i helped.
10x a lot guys !
it didn't recover APN settings after upgrade
I previously checked them, and assumed that check-box is selected, but actually it was not. It should be colored in green, but actually it was in grey
Unable to re-enable Mobile Network for data-only SIM Japan -- possible bug?
Having a similar problem, some more details:
PHONE:
I am using an unlocked (but unrooted) Incredible S from Virgin Mobile Canada with a data-only BMobile SIM in Japan (runs on DoCoMo's network apparently). Android 2.3.3 (Virgin Canada circa August 2011).
PROBLEM:
Mobile Network intermittently gets disabled and cannot be re-enabled normally. APN is fine, SIM card (phone number) is still detected. Toggling Airplane Mode or Wireless Network does not work, Select Automatically returns "unable to connect, try again later", Search Networks and choosing DoCoMo returns "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network".
SOLUTION:
Only reproducible solution is to remove data-only SIM, insert voice&data SIM (from my SoftBank phone), now Mobile Network is available so re-enable it, power down and replace data-only SIM. Once restarted Mobile Network automatically enables. Obviously this is not a convenient fix.
Once was fixed by randomly hitting network settings in frustration, but I have not been able to reproduce this solution.
OBSERVATION:
When on wireless, Mobile Network is also greyed out. When Wireless Network is disabled, Mobile Network automatically enables properly (for the most part, at least once I suspect it did not).
Thus I feel like it's a bug, either in OS or DoCoMo's network, but BMobile and HTC both point the finger at each other and have no useful suggestions for me.
ASIDE:
I hear Android 2.3.5 is available for Incredible S, perhaps this fixes the problem. However, this update has not appeared in my updater -- is it possible that because I'm unlocked I've lost access to the update server?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
mobile network disconnected
Have also the same problem, tried all the above suggestions but none works. Phone only shows limited service but with x on the signal bar. BUt when i try to tap the sim tool kit, it displays "SIM toolkit not ready or unsupported".
Hope somebody here can help me. Thanks

So I had the Australian Optus version of 2.3.6 running on my i9000, which was loaded up with bloatware.
I flashed 2.3.6 using tchindalias's method (found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1802778), and since have not been able to use Mobile Networks (i.e. packet data and MMS).
I can make phone calls and send SMS fine. My wi-fi also works fine.
I have configured my APN settings according to what it says at http://www.tpg.com.au/support/handset_settings.php#1.1, (TPG is my carrier), and my IMEI number under my battery matches what it says in my settings menu.
It says in my notification bar that there is packet data being sent and received (The orange and green arrows next to a E/3G/G/H), but when I try to load something it just won't load no matter how long I leave it.
So what I'm asking is, could somebody please help me out in getting Mobile Networks working again? I've looked around the forums for a while and haven't found much of a solution.
EDIT: So it only took a bit of time for the problem to resolve itself... Turns out reconfiguring my APN settings fixed the problem.
Now that you fine folks got s-off working on version 4.4.2 for the HTC One, I was able to put Cyanogenmod on it today. Things seem to work okay, except for the one glaring issue: I can't use the phone to make or get calls. If I look at Settings->About Phone->Status, I get this:
Network - Verizon Wireless
Mobile network type - LTE
Service state - Voiceut of Service / Data: In Service
Roaming - Not roaming
Mobile network state - Disconnected
I suspect that I might have the wrong "Mobile networks" settings in the Settings->Wireless & Networks->More section. For the Preferred network type, I selected "GSM/WCDMA/LTE", but I've tried a few others with no positive effects. For System Select, I'm set to Home Only. If I try to search for available networks, it returns an error and doesn't find any.
Any ideas? Thanks!
I was reading more into this, and people on Sprint found this issue when using Cyanogenmod last summer. I don't know if a solution was found, but the workaround was switching the network type to CDMA only, and then switching "back." The "back" is the key for me (I hope). What should it be set to? I don't remember what it was before I started messing around. It may have been global, but I tried that to no avail. Does anyone have a minute to pop into their settings and check? Thanks!
Hello,
I recently updated my Z3 compact (D5803) to android 5.1.1. on the T-Mobile network here in NYC. Ever since then, I frequently lose the ability to do anything data-based with the phone. No web browing, no chatting on whatsapp. I can still make phone calls and send/receive SMS, however. The data functionality returns when on WiFi, but goes away once I switch back to LTE. In order for me to get data on LTE, I have to manually download the internet settings for my provider to my phone (this is located under the Settings menu in android). Even then, it only lasts for several minutes before the data connection is lost. T-Mobile was unable to fix the problem, and changing the SIM card didn't resolve the issue.
Anyone else experience this?
Yes, many others have the same problem, see various posts in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/discussion-5-1-1-stock-released-post-t3162309
Currently, the best workaround seems to be to disable and re-enable mobile data, or to go to airplane mode and back again. That solves the issue until you drop LTE connection the next time, then you will have to re-iterate.

Yes I am having the exact same problem since updating to 5.1.1. As the other reply says turning airplane mode off then on is the quickest way to get connectivity back (swipe down twice from the top for quick access). This is terribly frustrating though, it only lasts for a few minutes. I can't believe they pushed the update with this issue!

My phone had this issue after the over the air update. I reset the phone to factory, wiped all data. Two days on, now, and no more problems with this.
Same problem. I tried factory reset out of desperation, but it didn't work.
Love this phone, but very discouraged by this bug.
(I'm on t-mobile in Seattle, fwiw)

As posted in the other thread, there is now a fix/workaround:
From reddit user FishStik5: Going into the APN settings and changing the APN protocol to iPv4 only (it was iPv6 before) seems to fix the problem.
How to find the setting: Settings-> Wirelessa and Network / more -> Mobile networks -> APN -> T-mobile data -> APN protocol -> Set to IPv4.

Looks like this worked for me (T-mobile, San Francisco area). Thanks for posting this
i'm having the same problem and didn't work for my the ipv4. still loosing data, i have to reboot the phone
I have also problem with that (Orange, Poland). I sent my phone to official Sony service, they reload the software, but I still have that problem. Lte is working for a while and when my phone switches to wcdma (because it is not in a range of lte) it is not working either. However, when I change the preferred network from lte to wcdma it is working without any issues.
Same problem here although I'm on ipv4 [emoji34]
Sent from my Z3 Compact
I thınk you shouldnt buy operator phones. Buy ınternatıonal models next tıme
Mine isn't an operator model, I'm using Straight Talk and also have the issue. It made my phone useless....I almost never have data
This worked for me
This worked on my Doogee Valencia2 Y100Pro
Install and Open app "Hidden Android Settings" (by 0Alex)
Select choose and open "RadioInfo"
Move to Last option "TOGGLE DNS CHECK"
mine read "0.0.0.0 not allowed"
press the "TOGGLE DNS CHECK" so that it displays "0.0.0.0 Allowed"
That's it - my mobile data worked, I hope it works for yo

1. Change "APN Protocol" to IPv4
2. Change "APN Type" to: "default, supl" only
3. Change "APN" to "internet"
4. Save.
Best, Martin.

this is a bug on 5.1.1 sony need to fix it
Any news with this issue?
No problem here with LTE on the CM 12.1 Cyanogenmod flavor of 5.1.1 on T-mobile (that I've noticed at least). But I think CM 12.1 may handle the APN settings differently (mine is set to T-Mobile LTE ipV4) from the stock ROM or it could be something Sony messed up from the AOSP code. I'm NOT suggesting anyone try a CM ROM as a solution as there are lots of downsides to unlocking your phone and flashing any non-stock ROM. But the problem does seem to be specific to the Sony ROM and not 5.1.1 in general.
I also have this problem after the update to 5.1.1 in the Netherlands. The first problem was that the update changed some mobile data settings, so I downloaded the settings from my provider. Unfortunately those settings were also incorrect as I had to manually remove the APN's Proxy and Port (they were set, be needed to be 'not set'/empty). This improved the connection a bit, but it still looses the mobile data at certain places (where the coverage is good). Did a factory reset as the Sony helpdesk suggested. For a few days this seemed to help, but again the same issue came up. The suggested solution mentioned in this thread did not work as those settings are already applied.
I have a profider (Telfort) which uses another provider's network (KPN's). So after the update I also see a annoying R in the signal icon, where in the previous version it always showed H+, H, 3G.
Does anyone know if this is resolved in the new update?
After the last update and a new reconfiguracion on the APN now work correct for me.

And which version are you on? 23.4.A.1.200 or 23.4.A.1.232?
Hi guys, i have a problem with my Galaxy S23.
I am connected to wifi at home and mobile data on. But, when i turn off the wifi, the mobile data does not activate. I've checked the APN settings, i call the provider, i reset the network settings ... same issue.
Mobile data is activating only if i call to a short number like *100#. If i don't dial, even the mobile data toggle is on there is no connection.
Can you please help me !
Have you tried a factory reset?
This is the only thing i don't want to do, because i'm going to lose my eSim's.

Fairly certain this shouldn't matter. I think they stay when you reset the phone. You might want to research this more.
Ok, so i did a factory reset. Nothing changed. However, i found an option in developer mode "mobile data always active". This is keeping the data on even if wifi is connected. It is running ok now, but, the battery consumption is a bit higher.
Hi guys,
I'm from Brazil and I'm having the same issue on my S23 ultra.
I use 1 eSIM from Vivo and a SIM from TIM.
When I'm using the mobile data, sometimes it doesn't work even the 4G or 5G are on.
I tried switch between carrier (Tim and Vivo) and both show 4G sign and doesn't work.
There are two ways to restore the mobile data, restart the phone or turn off and turn on the airplane mode. But after some minutes the problem continues.
I went to a Samsung Store and they put a new and clean OS, but after 1 day the problem started again.
I searched about it and I couldn't find a fix to this problem.
I will try to use only SIM and not use eSIM. I read some articles that the T-Mobile was having same issues.
I think it is a chronic problem. Maybe they need a recall or a new update to fix this issue.
Does any know how to fix this problem?
I have 2 SIMs because there are some places that I work that only 1 carrier works.
Problem solved.
I went to the provider and replaced the sim card with a new one. Now it's working without any issues.
