If the phone is flat it won't work you'll have to angle the phone a little for it to work

Yes, mine too.
@droberto2021 check that you dont have the upper phone's part covered, i mean near the front camera where sensors are. If you cover that the tap will not work

Hello!
I have a weird error on my diamond 2 - I dropped it on the floor, so the touch screen got broke. I bought a new original one and replaced it as myself, which wasn't that difficult. The strange thing is that now when I move my finger up and down on touch screen the pointer moves side to side, and when i move finger from side to side the pointer goes up and down...? It's just like touch screen was rotated 90 degrees. Have tried to do a factory reset via a guide I found but it is still the same. Is it supposed to recalibrate the phone somehow?
Could this be a fysical connection error?
I tried to put cable in the other way but it was to short, and I can't figure out how to put it another than it is now. If i try to force it around 180 degrees it will be ripped off and break.
is your problem already solved? i replaced my cover as well. i think the connection ot digitizer is not pluged in correctly, it is not in the middle. it is also possible that your replacement is scrap

I tried to go maneuver via the menu but it was impossible. But I didn't give up and Google instead and found this - "You need to simultaneously hold down Volume Up and Volume Down on the side of the device, and while holding them both down, just tap the screen and it will go straight to the alignment screen."
This works and my screen is now aligned, but still I got it's 90 degree ccw rotated.
I forgot to mention that i have replaced digitizer two times - one before this one, reason was i thought first one was broken/faulty
Has anyone had this problem of the status bar does not go down with the vertical mode screen on the Xperia Z3 compact? Only down after a long drag your finger on the screen, but the strange thing is that in landscape mode screen down normally. What can it be? Can someone help me?

are you sure the upper part of the touch screen is working properly? that was my problem and i don't recall dropping my phone too hard to mess up the touch screen....did factory reset and nope it was definitely the touchscreen
My already dropped some times, but there is nothing wrong in its outside and its functionality remains excellent taking this error now. And the status bar down the normal horizontally, so it's not the hardware. It's a software bug and also does little more than a year have the appliance. I've seen some reports of the same problem in the Xperia line on the Internet, just not speak the solution exactly. I took an original firmware and put one here too, I do not know if it has to do with the problem.
the top of the screen is the normal friend, as I said, the landscape mode screen functions normally, even when I'm playing a game, the problem is a software error, if the display hardware would have committed it all
Can I get rid of it, if I install any custom ROM?
It doesn't work... plz help me... my ph is sony xperia z3 model no: D6653
Anyone who cannot swipe down notifications or quick settings, due to a broken digitiser, can follow these instructions:
[emoji7]
Download 'All in one Gestures' app from the playstore.
Go to the 'SWIPE' tab.
Enable.
Under 'Edges' , select 'Top Area'.
Then via the apps settings, choose 'Personalization'.
Now under 'Swipe Area', go into 'Edge Preference.
Make 'Opacity' 0%
With 'Edge Sensitivity' start from 0% and keep moving the slide left until the swipe down works, mine is set at 90px.
'Edge Width' 100%
'Swipe Distance' 0%
Now under 'Touch Feedback' turn off both 'Toast Message' and 'Animation'.
Then turn down 'Vibration Intensity' to '0'
Done.
You now have the screen functioning as normal.

When there is something magnetic in your pocket the phone is activated by the magnet sensor.
When you carry the phone in the pocket with screen turned to the skin then the phone is activated by yourself, because the screen is capacitative.
Belt case ?

Turn the screen away from your body/skin.
The proximity sensor works when activated after dialing to turn the screen OFF.
Or turn ambient display off

Thanks man! That fixes the issue, BTW I know it might be a bit off topic but.. What is xposed? I've seen it everywhere and in that link too, cheers.

Xposed*is a framework for mod's that change the behavior Android. Root needed and downloading xposed-modules.
Never tried it, because I prefer a system close to stock. Therefore I use the prerooted lite stock rom of Danvdh.

I personally use Sweep to wake (up) rather than double tap to wake. It seems more reliable and doesn't trigger by accident.

This is my best suggestion. Turn the back of the phone towards your skin in your pocket. Absolutely the simplest solution.
Never had this happen nor should it happen. Ambient display is normally the cause and why most people turn it off. It is more likely that you are hitting the power button while it is in your pockets. Mainly to those dumb enough to keep it in their back pocket.
I'm not 100% but I think I had the option in MM to turn smart cover on/off. Recently upgraded to Nougat and today i put on an old cheap smart cover case in preparation for a road trip. The smart cover function works as the screen will turn off when i close the lid and turn on when I open it. However i'm a paranoid person in nature and prefer to do it the hard way, ie press a button and visually confirm the screen is off.
I played around in settings but can't seem to find a way to change it. am I missing something?

i'm more worried about sometimes the cover can move or open by mistake, either in hand or in the luggage. i don't want the screen to be turned on by mistake.

I've had my US unlocked Galaxy S10 for a few days now and one thing I've noticed is that the animation around the camera hole doesn't work when I am in the camera app and switch between the front and rear cameras. Has anyone else had this not work on theirs? Is there a setting that might affect this? I like this animation and want it to work on my phone. Any help you guys can provide is most appreciated!
I was told that led has been removed for now because they made a galaxy case that does some led stuff or something like. They might put it back in an update but no telling when or that's at least what I was told.

Do you have the virtual bezel turned on? Because if you do, that turns off the animation around the camera hole.

If you don't know what it is, then you probably don't have. The virtual bezel is the black bar that covers the hole in the display and pushes the status icons and notifications down. It can be found in display -> full screen apps -> hide front camera
