HELP stuck on blue screen "Factory reset status 2" - LG G8 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello,
When trying to mess up with the "NT Code" as told in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...d-countries-also.4575655/page-2#post-88600477
I ended up with my phone stuck on this blue screen with "Factory Reste Status" and a big red 2 displayed.
I don't know at all what to do... tried vol down + pwer and it goes again in this menu... The phone boots by itself and goes back to thsi menu.
I think I messed up with LG UP..... can someone help me I want to get back my phone...
I had not fiished to back up my data so factory reset would be my last wish as first I would like tro try save some data pelase.....

Hello
Make a backup of FTM and restore the attached file in place of it.

Could you please explain how do I do such backup please ?
Will I lose all my data ?

You need to learn how to work with Qfil so search for some tutorials.

I looked for hours and wasn't able to make it work.... I wanted to backup partitons but Qfil didn't wanted to do so.
You provided a ftm file so you seem to know a lot more than me about this. Could you explain how you got it please ?

That's what I'm fearing... I dunno what will happen. I had not finished backing up data, I was just trying to understand how it's working and how to use those softwares :'(

In Qfil just click on a partition and then choose "read data" on right-click to dump/backup the partition.
Read the section B here it will gave some hints so that you can figure out how to work with Qfil.

Your device is in PDM mode I do not think that you can make it without flashing however sometimes flashing FTM alone can do the trick but I'm not sure if it factory resets or not.

Nexus 6 No LTE with IMEI correct, Bad "0" IMEi I have LTE?!?!?!? Heeeeelp!

Ok, Ladies and Gentleman I need some deep thought processing here for some help with a Motorola Nexus 6. In brief here is what the problem is, a while back when flashing Pure Nexus rom, I experienced a loss of my IMEI. I can restore my IMEI but if and when I do, I lose any 4g and LTE connectivity. The phone functions in 3g with data and phone etc... just slow as molasses but if I restore my IMEI to the one that doesn't show up my IMEI correctly I get back LTE/4g and all works fine also. I've tried going all the way back to the original firmware which was saved to computer and restoring it. Same thing, I have IMEI but no LTE/4g. restore bad efs and get LTE/4g back. I've tried going through all the factory firmware's and flashing by ADB and or TWRP and nothing firmware wise will allow me to restore the IMEI and have LTE/4g signal. If I restore the bad efs and get OOOOOOOO for IMEI when using the *#06# on any firmware version, I regain LTE/4g functioning! I am using Pure Nexus 7.1 now and can still see the 00000000 as a IMEI, if I restore my efs and get IMEI back showing correctly, no LTE/4g signal! My phone can only function as it should as long as the IMEI doesn't show correctly! I have tried just flashing base bands and other segments of any rom and still the problem persist! I have even tried restoring an EFS from another nexus 6 and still no help. It's not the sims because I've tried AT&T sims and Verizon sims from other phones and it does the same thing! I've tried flashing with a sims in the phone and without. Any ideas??? It's like somehow a correlating segment of a file is not being recognized when the correct IMEI is present, like some thing some where in the efs, IMEI, and radio are not taking to each other so to speak, unless it shows the zero's! Brain waves come on and help me out here!!
Have you tried doing a fresh install of a complete factory nexus image? (i.e. entirely wiping the device)

Thanks, and Yes, about 30 different times, using Google developer site original factory firmware, using ADB and or TWRP all the way back to original image, which I have saved as I said in the original post! I don't have a problem restoring IMEI it's just if I do, the phone will not connect to LTE/4g no way no how. I have to have a "0" IMEI for the phone to function as it should actually function and the LTE/4g radio to work, something strange is a miss!

Alrighty, no need to yell.... The factory image is flashed with "fastboot" NOT adb or TWRP. Just wanted to clarify how you were returning the phone to stock.

Yes I said thanks because I was yelling! Jezz, get a grip THIS IS YELLING! ADB/Fastboot both tools are used to flash, extract etc.. with your computer, so obviously one cannot flash/restore etc... without using the proper tools via computer!
Try this:
1) Install "Change APN" app from Google store
2) Open ChangeAPN and click the "option" ( the 3 vertical dots) in the upper right-hand corners.
3) click "reset to default"
4) exit the app
5) perform carrier reset ##3282#
6)If needed: after the phone reboots, perform PRL/Device config update. That's it and you should have LTE data.

Thanks! Ok, Itried that, restored my IMEI, "reset APN to default" Tried Carrier reset ##3282# and it says "NO Cellular Network" even though I am showing my network and 3G. So, I rebooted and same thing, went to PRL and tried to update and it says "update error" but it will refresh!

You clearly don't know the difference between a recovery, the bootloader and the operating system.
ADB is used when the phone is on and is not how you flash a factory image. Fastboot is used in the bootloader and is the proper method of restoring to factory.

I was very gratified when I noticed that I'd overnight become a Senior Member - until I realised that it had nothing to do with the wisdom I'd imparted in my posts, but only that I'd posted 100. So seniority doesn't imply knowledge, which I think you're beginning to demonstrate in this thread as well as in another where I've seen this same strange unnecessarily belligerent attitude.
TheWacoKid is asking for help, which I'd be happy to offer if I had any ideas. I feel absolutely no desire to tell him that he has no idea what he's doing. And nor should you.

Look, I came on here to discuss a situation and or problem, which is what I thought this web site was known for, which I havent run into before, in that way not only do I get some help and or suggestions which might help me but help others at the same time who might have the same problem and or will have in the future and find possible solutions! If you don't have anything positive to add to the conversation/situation/problem at hand you are wasting my time, others time and most of all just making a fool out of yourself being childish and immature. Most on here come for solutions not looking to nitpick and try and belittle others like they know everything, which you don't, otherwise you would have given a solution! So you can continue to act like a troll or just leave the situation be and by the way, you ever hear of ADB Sideload??
Use method 2 , you will get everything definitely

No, you can use ADB sideload to flash a ROM which requires you to be in the recovery. Standard ADB cannot be used to flash a ROM.

Thanks, I've used both of those methods, I have even tried just flashing individual parts all by themselves to see if just one part would give an error of some kind while flashing, no errors on any flash of any kind, the only difference being that if I read them correctly that on those methods it said to wipe data factory reset in recovery, before reboot, the Flashall bat file reboots automatically into image just flashed, I usually reboot as last command, if that makes any difference, I've even tried wiping then just flashing the new bootloader after a wipe, because it basically acts like a security checkpoint and partition manager, then rebooting and flashing the rest of one of the google firmware versions for the nexus 6.

N950U hardbrick...help

HI, I bricked my N950u after rooting with the SamV2 method for snapdragon. I rooted it fine, then tried flashing stock firmware and supersu zip. I know snapdragon is bl locked but I thought I could possibly do something besides hard brick lol. Anyway, does a rooted n950u that they could share a partial or full sys dump with me so I can make a debrick img. Also if anyone knows how to un/debrick please let me know and share. Thanks in advance!!!!
P.s. I know it was stupid to do lol
p.p.s. if your not going to contribute to the solution and or insult my foolish decision please keep your comments to yourself, thanks
You cannot debrick. What does your phone do?
EDIT: you probably are not bricked anyway. Actually you might be bricked if you flashed stock rev1 firmware instead. That would brick you...

Yup. Thats 100% a hardbrick. Unfortunatly the debrick img method doesnt work on this phone. Only way to fix at this moment is a carrier swap. Thats how I got mine fixed.

Long shot but... qfil / firehose msm8998 is the way to go with this. Can be done, the hard part is getting the firehose programmer (and maybe rawprogram0 / patch0 xmls too)
Isnt it supported by Z3x / Sigma / Infinity / Octoplus?
Doesnt that "aryk" site have a load of programmer files that could work with your device?
Failing that, JTAG / EMMC flash (pinouts should be around somewhere)
Sorry can`t be more help. I`m working on a similar issue with a Moto Z2 play atm
EDIT: I`m sure the 835 (what you have) supports booting from the SD card.
You need to ask someone with a rooted Snapdragon N8 to make a copy of the first 167(ish) MB of mmcblk0
Like this... (Brief idea... whoever does this needs to do it obviously from shell, on the device itself wether thats from TWRP shell or ADB in *nix / Win thats up to you)
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/Loader.img bs=1024 count=168960
Once some kind soul has done this for you and you have downloaded it, write the resulting image to decent SD card using Win32diskimager, place in device and try booting. See if the bootloader runs enough to get you into ODIN.
YMMV but it is a recovery method for Snapdragons. Weather you overwrite EFS / Lose IMEI I don`t know. Only just getting back into Sammy scene.
It is kind of like a failsafe incase of EMMC corruption I think.
I can`t help with this sadly as I`m Exy

Just got my Note 8. But I remember hard bricked phones in the past brought back to life with jtag devices. Anyone try Jtag device or gotten Jtag service done to hard bricked Note 8?
Last tax season was supposed to buy 1, but car issues. I know they're expensive. But if they can fix phones with ease. Then well worth it.

"Trying to flash" , what exactly did you flash ?
How do you flash it ?
Why dont you flash TWRP followed by ROM of any choice ?
NV normally contained in EFS partition, which can be backed up and flash from TWRP and QPST.
But again, your description is far from clear for us to help you.

Where did the nv corrupted notification appear when u were using TWRP ?
Prior to facing this issue, what you actually did ? I mean, did this phone work before ? Before you start getting this error, what you did, what you install, what you flash, what you delete ? Or did it just suddenly happen with nothing modified ?

You gonna need to ask someone to backup their QCN, take out the imei info, give it to you, and flash it using QPST.

I can't use qpst, because I can't activate usbdebug and the diag port.
Is it possible to give me a hand?

This is absolutely not a issue, that requires using Qpst
You simply need to wipe data and follow the on screen prompts. (You will lose all data on your phone.) However the phone will work again.

I flashed an altered rom, without success I got a brick I'm without recovery and without fastboot I just have a black screen and it's only recognized by the PC in 9008 mode, you have any idea how I can solve it?

Sorry that you are having these issues, But my comment was based on the photo that was posted on the OP. Typically formatting is the resolution. If you no longer have that screen available, you should contact an authorised repair center to fix it for you.
Otherwise If the phone is bound to your account, you could try what is listed here: https://www.mobilerdx.com/2019/02/xiaomi-mi-8-test-point-boot-xiaomi-mi-8-into-edl-9008-mode.html
Scams or Actual Fixes?
I have recently read about supposed hacks that according to a couple of Chinese BBS sites, has worked for some that require buying a specialised Jtag programming tool which cost about $60, that you use along with altered versions of following files: prog_emmc_firehose_8909.mbn.elf, mi8 persist image, rawprogram0, frp and a patch file. All of which that can all be obtained from here: https://romprovider.com/2019/09/mi-account-remove-xiaomi/ ( UMT Download)
Supposedly Chimera is another option: https://chimeratool.com/en/docs Again I have not used any of these tools with the mi8, I am merely sharing what I read about recently.
By the time you have spent the money acquiring the tools, it seems that you are better off just mailing the phone off to be repaired by an official repair center. Here is a web page that provides a list of official repair centers : https://www.pinoytechnoguide.com/2014/06/xiaomi-service-centers.html
Good Luck and try anything mentioned above at your own risk.
Edit: Have you tried the Flashall.bat method?
That should work since you are seeing the com port.

You need backup EFS and Modem via TWRP first(better with OrangeFox). After you need Magisk first and some manipulation with QCN file via QPST. I will write it later

Maui Meta is for MTK cpu phones. You need QPST
Note 8 Pro is MTK Device

Redmi Note 9 - How do I restore my IMEI? I don't have a backup of my nvram/nvdata but I have the numbers.

How do I write IMEI along with baseband version back to my phone? I really don't want to risk bricking it again, that's enough stress for me in the past two days
I heard that I can only flash IMEI 2 back to it, and if I want flashing IMEI 1 as well I'd need to install a custom rom on the phone. So if that's a solution I'd love if someone could help me with it. MIUI 13 is slow and laggy af (which is the reason I bricked the phone in the first place, to install a better ROM).
But here's something, when I flash the phone's firmware through fastboot, issues start to rise (as per my experience with it so far), but through SP Flash Tool, it's alright. So I'd love to know if installing custom ROMs using the tool would be alright, if not then if recovery is required or if fastboot is fit for the job. If that's an issue I'd love if someone could give me advice when it comes to it.
Old post 1: (not my current situation)
"Long story short, I bricked the phone and after months, I've finally been able to repair it (downgraded from MIUI 13 to MIUI 11), but I lost my IMEI. I have the phone's two IMEI numbers, but I could not find any tool to help me write it to the phone. Either that, or I don't know whether the phone should be turned on or off, or if there's any special mode that's required for that matter.
Help would really be appreciated."
Old post 2:
"It happened after manually installing engineering ROM on it, now I can only doubt it's BROM mode that's working and nothing else, but I'm not sure. SP Flash Tool doesn't want to work with the phone since I want to flash the stock rom back. I really need help please."

The reason why my phone broke in the first place was due to flashing a misc.bin file after following a YouTube tutorial. It was part of a process to download twrp on the phone unofficially. Since then I started looking for ways to fix it until I finally found a post that had to do with fixing nvdata corruption (which was the error I had prior to fixing the phone) which helped.
So yeah, I don't think I can trust flashing ROMs on my phone as much as before, but I'll still try the engineering ROM thing.

So um...it bricked. This time worse than before. It doesn't turn on at all no matter how long I press the power button. It was after I manually flashed eng rom.

Yep, it doesn't show up as it's name or "Android", it shows up as MediaTek USB Port (COM3), that's why I doubted it to be in BROM mode.

I always recommend a NV Backup before messing up with your own device, that's all I know.
Download the file attached here but remember you can fix only second IMEI using this method. Please don't try to fix both IMEI or NV Data will be corrupted again.

The guy in the video is using MIUI 12, I have MIUI 13. I don't know if that's an issue but someone in the comments said something about MIUI or so. I'm not a professional but many times when I see tutorials they're very specific with the MIUI version.
Also, I'm not sure how to back up nv data, do I use mtkclient or is it somewhere in the attachment you sent me?
And one more thing, my phone's baseband version is unknown, could that affect the process?

You don't need the backup anymore and you can follow the tutorial in the video irrespective of the MIUI version you have.
I have also attached the files that are used in the video.

The phone keeps rebooting when connecting it to Maui META. Like it shows META MODE at the bottom of the screen but then it turns off. Now it's bootlooping. I guess I'll have to flash MIUI on it again. At least I still have access to fastboot and recovery.
Update: NV Data corrupted after flashing MIUI, but I got a solution that hopefully works.
Update 2: After flashing MIUI 11 (along with some other nvdata and nvram files, i think they're just empty), it works now and the error is gone. But as I said IMEI issue's still there. Maybe I would need engineering ROM for this one? Although it bricked my phone before.
Also, the phone started bootlooping before attempting the Maui META thing, so maybe it's either the manual formatting of partitions or the files I flashed on it.

Btw one more thing, I can update my phone right? Like, it won't break my phone? I'm good with MIUI 11 but I wonder if updating it would fix baseband version.
