Alternative method to enter bootloader - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Hi there.
Is there any alternative method to enter bootloader instead of using PWR button and reset and rec.
I can't enter that way, because my PWR button has screwed up. And i want to give device to service to repair within warranty. But before i must load my opearator rom. If i give them device with i-mate rom, they will say (i'm pretty sure for that) that it is my fault, and they won't repair device within warranty because i've loaded different software than my operator software.
So i must revert to Polish ERA rom before i go, but how to do that without PWR button ?
thx
Saganov

I've handled the problem. The stuck power button wasn't hardware problem but software. I think it is a i-mate 1.40 rom bug. I've tried to hardreset but without success. Then i've tried to hardreset, 2 times one after another, before any soft loads, and it works. After soft from extended rom being installed on hard resetted device, PWR works well.

tried a Hard Reset?
(hold down center button and volume down while pressing reset for 3 secs)
Yeah thats the first thing i did..no luck just goes back to the start screen.
can u get to Bootloader?
Not sure how to get there..
umm.. Volume key up and reset i think (if not check Wiki)
once in Bootloader you can connect to PC and try flashing ROM again
if this doesnt work, try flashing original ROM (same process) and try a different version of Hard SPL. have u flashed other ROMS ok before?
It use to go in bootloader shen i pushed volume dwn, power button and enter botton..not doing it now..
its Volume Down and reset - my bad
Got to chip off now, good luck with it PM me and i'll see it tomrrow if u still got problems
No luck i have tried everything stuck in this loop anyone have anyother sugjestions
I can get it to go to the hard reset screen but that itanyonter way to force it into bootloader the direction in the manuel are different from what wiki says..
So is it bricked?

something terribly wrong with my X1

I'm using Itje's Touch it v7 ROM, and I don't know, something f***ed up with the rom, don't know how. anyway, hardware keys on my X1 don't work, except the power button. Volume keys also don't work. Hardware keyboard won't type, I have to use on-screen keyboard. Tried to hard reset, but nothing happens, all the same. I can't even load the boot (multicolor) screen, to upload another rom (guess, it won't load because volume keys don't respond), using my power key and volume down key. Won't even hard reset while holding down power key and two silver keys....
any solution please?
thanks in advance
Dude Turn the phone off, Take the battery out for 30 seconds, Replace the battery and try entering the boot loader mode again. If Its not letting you do that then it will be a fault with the hardware not the rom. I think when you enter the boot loader mode, that does not rely on the rom.
I don't say it's the ROM, but I don't know what it is... No, taking battery out for 2 mins didn't help
try flashing using SEUS?
everything worked fine, i flashed a few roms, before I decided to use Itje's one. flashed via memory card method
as Fards was trying to tell you: try the other (SEUS) method to flash again. This way you don't need to use any of the buttons on your X1.
will try that, thank you guys

or alternatively any customRuu.exe
if you look in most custom roms install folder, they have several files including an app called "enterbootloader.exe"

how can I Upgrade my Xda II if my camera and record button is broken? :(

Help, help!!!! (
Certainly when upgrade from WM03 to WM06, we all must go to the boot loader option to clean registry, disable KITL, clean storage...etc . However, poor me, I have an XDAII with broken record and camera button, so that I can not get in Boot Loader ( Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton )
So could any one solve this problem?
many thank!!!!
As this is a mechanical problem, - you can't press buttons, which are physically not there -, there is no software solution!
A little workaround might be possible, but untested yet:
As it is not necessarily so, that you have to do a hard reset to end upgrading,
you can try to skip it, in case the last thing you did in WM2k3(SE) was a hardreset.
There should no difference to a fresh upgraded system, which had done a hr afterwards, but it's untested!!!
To do a hard reset on a running WM5 or WM6.X system, you can try to downgrade, hardreset WM2k3(SE) (As I remember this OS does use this buttons to hr) and then upgrade again. It looks wierd, but might work.
For cookers only:
I suggest to use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=510805,
as it's a WWE rom without camera-function for cooking.
Delete everything that belongs to the camera to get a little bit more sectors to fill with apps and proggis you need.
Thank so much for your helping, your guiding is quite clear and detailed but....it's not work surely. The way to get in boot loader depend on model of Xda, not depend on the version of rom. The Himalaya use fomular "Reset +Camera + Button" permanent whatever u use any wmXX
Well, I use Powerbutton -DPad -Reset to enter bootloader. No use of Camera button there.
In WM2k3(SE) the hard reset is powerbutton and reset, as I remember, please correct me, if I´m wrong.
Still no use of the missing button.
Enter bootloader and flash, then try to skip hard reset. Although it is better it is not needed.
To do a hard reset on a running WM5/6.X system use the tool of post#18 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351811&page=2
Change options to allow hardreset, tap on left upmost icon twice, tap and hold hardreset and run selected.
Voila, no button needed!!!
Tap the icon left of the '?' and enter anything you want. Congratulations.

Update ROM by using the BootLoader
Hello there,
even though you can't boot into your OS in the Diamond, there's a way to enter "BootLoader" mode. I'm not sure it works, but you can give it a try.
Here's how:
- Connect the Diamond to your PC
- Enter bootloader mode on your Diamond: with the device turned on, press and hold the volume down button along with the power button, then press the reset button with the stylus tip, then release the volume down and power buttons when bootloader tricolour screen appears.
- Use the ROM Update Utility. If the previous step worked and your connection is working, then with some luck you will be able to Flash the Device with the ROM update utility.
I've tried to find the thread that discussed this with pictures and such but couldn't. You might want to look for similar instructions
Good luck
Shane
JTAG
does anyone managed to JTAG diamond?

try a hard reset
Hard Reset (This cannot be performed while the device is connected/charging)
With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK/SEND and END/HANG UP buttons, then the press and hold the POWER button until you see this message on the screen.
"This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press ?VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel."
Release the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons.
Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

IMEI can also be found behind the battery
Are you able to enter bootloader mode (restart the device when holding down the VOL down button)?
If so - load a GSM ROM to the root of your SD card. and name it RHODIMG.nbh instead of ruu_signed.nbh. Then enter bootloadermode. You will have to press the powerbutton to flash the "update", and then soft reset with your stylus after update (or take out your battery).
Hope it sorts out
Hard reset isn't going to do anything if you've put a GSM ROM on your CDMA phone. You should be able to get into the bootloader though, as Novek has said (try pressing "reset" with the Volume Down button held down), then you can re-flash a CDMA ROM.
