HELP???
ROM version: 1.35.00 WWE
ROM Date: 12/10/04
Radio Version: HA01_140
Protocal version: AA3.3.301
ExtROM version: 1.35.113 WWE
ALSO, I use a MAC with Missing Sync. :?:

In your case I recommend upgrading to the latest ROM.
most of the programs can be later re-installed using Activesync.
If you keep all item in PC's Outlook, you'll be able to sychronize them with 'fresh' device.
It's hard/impossible to preserve ALL programs and settings.
Hard resseting / flashing the device always require some configuration work after...
Good luck.

OK, It seems to be the "Album" program is missing:
I did some cleaning and, when I try to run ALBUM, I am now getting the error:
Album.exe- (Cannot find 'Album' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and all the required libraries are available.)
How do I download this program and where?
I need the slideshow with Vids and PICs.... I love this little usfull program!

Pre-production problems

Hi!
I've got a pre-production version of the Qtek 9090.
The ROM version was 0.9x something and I had some troubles with it so I figured I would just update it... Shouldn't have done that
Anyway, I got hold of a strange update file, called "HA_RUU_12100_112_00125.exe" and ran it on my PC. Not that bright, one might think :?
The device would not fully boot up. I then took out the battery and waited a coupple of minutes. After that it booted up nicely. However, the device is not fully functional and when I look in the "Device Information" it says:
ROM version: 1.21.00 WWE
ROM date: 07/28/04
Radio version: DM FAIL
Protocol version: DM FAIL
PRL version: N/A
ExtROM version: 1.21.112 WWE
I've tried upgrading it using all the tools and instructions that I could find on this great forum but with no luck..
The DeviceData app brings back a strange txt-file that looks a bit like this:
PH20A1 A 1 WWE E [and some strange characters] 1.21.00 0 0 1.21.112 DM FAIL
I would be VERY grateful if someone could help me back to a fully functional device!!
Bump!
!!!Help!!!
so, why don't you just try using a non-strange file to upgrade your device then?

maybe upgrading the radio stack using the SD method would solve your issue, however, you'll need an SD backup of a working Radio rom for this.
there is a 1.06.01_sd_img.rar (german i think)
and a NTRW_ImageQtec9090.rar (no idea which language)
on the ftp
THANK YOU!!!
I'll give a try right away!
What does the "NTRW"-file do?
Can I upgrade the radio stack without any 120-errors?
A quick question:
Do a use Winhex or some other tool to copy the data to the SD card?
To be more specific:
What tools do you use to copy the .nb1 file to the SD card?
Help!
xdatools is used to program sd cards with rom image.
I've tried the version of XDATools that I found on Jeff Summers page. It says "Invalid file size" and that the image should be a certain size. The Radiostack is not that size..
Anyone?!
Getting Image on XDA III / PDA2k from SD
Just use "ntrw.exe" - search forum for location. That runs in DOS and will copy the .nb1 image you can get from the ftp to an SD card in one command. Insert card/enter bootloader and it worked for me (but not the radio as it hung there - i also have a pre production model)
chris
I've got the 2.03 version of the Bootloader and it will not detect the card...
Do you know how I can upgrade it?
Strange - I had 2.03 too - but after I applied the 1.06....sd_img file from ftp it uploaded to 2.05 - so i was in the same position as you and got it working.
I am not 100% sure it was that file i tried first - it might have been
ntrw_imageQtec9090.rar also in the ftp archives.
Either way I do find some images dont work - so i also found and used psdwrite.exe and that seemed to work when writing images using ntrw.exe did not. I am sure there is something else wrong- but find that between these 2 I can create bootable Sd images that at least get the device up and running.
I am still struggling to upgrade the radio stack - as with the 0.9x version none of the "mainstream" upgrades work - they all fail complaining about the radio stack version.
Good luck - i think you must be close!
Thank you Hampers!
Progress! I got the Bootloader to accept the Qtec.nb1. It takes about 40seconds before it reacts and after that it says:
"
SD Download
=========
Selection=1
Not allow
update!
"
Quite strange, don't you think?!
Just make a copy of your 9090's ROM with romupdate.exe and ntrw and copy the firtst 416 bytes from that to the image file you are trying to flash by overwriting them. Then it will allow the update

I would like to but when I give the command "d2s", it runs a checksum test, starts to copy and finally fails with the message "Add record is error!" (Even I speak better English than that )
The SD card now contains a bit of information from my Qtek. When I try to re-flash it with this information it returns the same message as usual; "Sections=1 Not allow update!"

Broadcom Bluetooth 1.6.0600 cab available here!

The new version of Bluetooth 1.6.0600 is now available at
ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/OEM_WWE_160_600.sa.CAB
I have installed it but I haven't tried it yet. I had no problem installing the cab manually or directly from the Extended ROM.
Does any one knows which are the corrected bugs in this version and what's new? Why this new version number (from 1.0.3500 up to 1.6.0600)? It looks like a major release to me. I hope it DOES solves the problems we have with Bluetooth and our Blue Angels.
Enjoy it!
ArtZ
thanks for this really a nice update
I can't install it! :x
It says that a dll is in rom and connot be overwrited ...
(how do you install using extended rom??)
Thanks
I guess Bluetooth has to be be turned "OFF" when you install the update.
I had no problem to install it. I will play with this update tonight at home
ArtZ
I tried with it off, even put it in the startup dir but it says the same error ...
Yeah!
Occur the same thing with me!
Can anyone say the reason for this?
It will be because of the ROM installed on int?
My device configuration is:
Rom Version: 1.22.00 WWE

Radio Version: 1.06.00

Thanks.
If it can help, here's my device info:

Protocol Version: 1337.38

Hi,
i have the same problem.
the dll is in use or in rom
Thanks.
I have installed the cab in two ways as follows:
First way: I copied in my SD Card the OEM_WWE.160.600.ca.CAB and I launched from there with the Bluetooth turned "OFF" and all other communication ports closes ( No active USB for ActiveSync and/or Wi-Fi) and I had no problem to install it.
Second way: I have unlocked the Extended ROM and put the CAB there deleting the previous BT patches from the Belgium Extended ROM ver.557 (OEM_124_008.ca.CAB, OEM_Patche_12100401.sa.CAB, then, I deleted the two lines to install these patches in the Config.txt file to replace them the new CAB) and I had also no problems to install.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
ArtZ
Hmm..
Well. I got the same problem..
The file "\Windows\ace_ddi.dll" is in use or is in ROM.
What to do?
I had more of a problem even out of the cradle so I:
Renamed the files in the \windows
(My Resco Explorer complained that it was unable to delete but it renamed them any way
ace_ddi.dll
ahioem.dll
AudioGW.dll
BtCeIf.dll
BtCeProfiles.dll
BtCeStack.dll
BTChooserLib.dll
BtPhoneIf.dll
btrez.dll
BTTrayCE.exe
FrontLight.dll
Keybddr.dll
Serial_BTUR.dll
Serial_Cmd.dll
Wavedev.dll
wbtapiCE.dll
Then I installed the Cab from \Storage\temp
Bluetooth Reports 1.6.0 Build 0600
I have not tested if it works
Has anyone tried this on an XDA II with 2003SE?
I'm tempted to install it if it works.
It Worked!! Had to renew a few more file but it is running now.
Thanks MDAIIIUser!
I have a Verizon XV6600 and tried this. For whatever reason it instantly makes the phone stop working. Also the Bluetooth starts but also instantly turns off with the following message: "The Bluetooth Radio failed to turn ON due to insufficent driver memory available. You must perform a normal reset before you can trun ON the Bluetooth Radio."
Before I install (and risk another Hard Reset and new System Setup) the key questions:
1) Does ist improve BT-headset voice quality or stability?
2) Does it include or work with the High Quality Audio Profile for the HP BT-Headphones?
3) What are the recognizable improvements over the 1.0.0.3500 stack?
Any answers available?[/list]
Before checking the forum again i made the same procedure described by MDAIII user .
I have tested with my HB60 headset and its working fine so far..
RE
Its NOT working on O2 XDA II with WM2003SE.
The whole thing hangs
How do I make the dlls visible in order to rename them?
I would like to install this on an XDA II but I cannot see the dll files in the Windows directory.
How do I make them visible in file explorer so that I can rename them?
RE
Just go to File Explorer --> Windows and tap the screen and hold it there. A box will pop up and you'll be able to see 'View All Files'

Official i-mate ROM release (1.40.176 & 1.12.00)

It's too good to believe:
ftp://ftp.clubimate.com/PDA2k_WWE_14000_176_11200.exe
I'm downloading now.
Tom
39.6MB (their server is really slow today)
From i-mate site:
The details of the new ROM image are:
For the Worldwide English Build:
ROM version: 1.40.00 WWE
ROM date: 03/10/05
Radio version: 1.12.00
Protocol version 1337.42
ExtROM version: 1.40.176 WWE
I think they waited until the pros on this site figured everything out first...then they just piggy-backed on their findings. Kudos to the real pros on XDA-devel!!!

How to install this rom in Spanish Qtek 9090, i'm new and y don't now very well to change the language.
Thank you!
imate update
I just got the update from the I-mate site and am working it with the XDA tools but I'm getting a checksum errors on the radio, NK, and MS filles. Should I be using a different tool? My device is a MDA III T-mobile german flashed to english. Any Ideas???
Downloaded, installed and running. No problems....yet. I can't find a config file in the extrom in order to make some changes, but there's a setup.exe file now. Not sure what that's about.
No idea how to change the language...I'm not good enough to know that.
More later.
Tom
So far so good. A couple issues. 1) the phone off (or flight mode on) is no longer activated by the Call End button. Shame...I loved that feature. 2) I have a problem turning the phone on (flight mode off) after a soft reset. I think it may be caused by the Contacts Button addin. The only way I can turn on the phone is to go into the keypad and then turn it on. All other methods cause the system to lockup.
Tom
Temporary copy...
Until someone puts it up on xda-developers / cooks it,
a MUCH faster loading copy is at

Great!!!!!
I'm downloading it right now!!
i-mate finally released it after 1000's of unkept promises!
FINALLY!!! Here's to hoping it will be better than the Qtek version!
Again, I would like to ask why there is no config file??? I take it setup.exe has the config file built in? If any of the pros can give me some feedback as to this, I would appreciate it. I'd like to drop in several cab files incase I fubar something down the road.
Thanks,
Tom
P.S. almost 6 hours and only the "turning on the phone" problem.
yes... config is missing...
will try out some combinations .

Ture...true. Skype was fun the first couple times, but with VOIP at home, I really don't need it anymore. Still, kind of cool to show people...if you have someone that you can connect to.
Tom
Tried some combos, including, using the old config and setup files... nothing wrorks,
only thing is that any additional file found in ext rom is treated as a carrier customization file, and on selecting one file , that particular file will be installed..
also, i noticed that there is one config file in the windows directory.
Just take the Autorun.exe and config.txt from another rom, add in the cabs from the i-mate rom, and there you go.
Yeah, I will be removing Skype ASAP myself. I can understand how it could be useful, but for my purposes, it just takes up space.
The Setup.exe is way better then the config
Leave the setup the exe it is better then the config. with the config you have to site the and write a line for each cab file. the setup.exe automatically runs every cab file in the ext rom. whether you put it there or not. So when cookinh your extended rom no need to keep having to change the config.txt. The setup will run whatevers there.
You can find this new ROM at ftp upload folder hope MDAIIIUser can move to wiki , I will upload ext.ROM by tomorrow

Do I need to keep autorun.exe ? If yes, then which one old or new?
sunish, I can not imagine why it would not work. You must have made a mistake somewhere.
The WMP10 close problem still exists, which leads me to conclude that it is indeed a problem with the 1.40 CE Rom, and not something within the Extended rom muddling it up.
Has anyone seem any actual improvements with this rom over Qtek's? All of the same problems still to be in place. The extended rom has a few different (but unimportant) cabs, but that's about it.
MarcValme, I'm not so sure I agree. One of the good things about the config.txt file is that you can specify the order in which the cabs install, which does actually make a difference in a few circumstances. Food for thought.
TheLastOne,
Don't know / Can't figure out where is the problem.
No combination is working for me.
Maybe will try it again after a day or so.
Right now, after unhiding the Ext ROM, I'm installing all the programs needed by me manually.
One thing that I noticed is the increase in speed... The performance is somewhat better now...

Lates CABS question

Hi evrybody!
nobody answer my question in last cabs thread... so I have to spam...
Here is my question from that thread:
Some question from NOOB.
I have HTC branded (finnish keyboard layout Kaiser).
So... First of all... what I need if I just wanted update f.e radiosw?
Second... where I am able to see current versions of cabs and what is the procedure to update single cabs? Just copy them to them SD card and install?
.Cab file on sama asia kuin .exe file tietokoneella. Kopioi ne .cabit \ kansioon ja asenna sieltä. Radion asennukseen suosittelen lukemaan mahdollisimman paljon ennen päivitystä. Tuolta löytyy tarvittavia työkaluja: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332246
Yeap... I do understand ho to install CAB files.. I am not SO noob... but my question was... where I could check what are versions of my current sw:s. So I'd know what should I upgrade...
Come'on... guys... where heck you check your current versions so you know if need upgrade??
I dont think anyone understands your question.
You talk about cabs and radio software.
1) The devices rom/os info is in settings, system, device info and is different depending on your devices origination (ie an Orange Tytn 2 will have different roms to an HTC suplied Tytn 2). FWIW my device is running:
Operator Version: 24.181.1.612
ROM: 1.81.61.2 WWE
Date: 9/20/07
Radio: 1.27.12.29
Protocal version: 22.45.88.07H
2) Cabs relate to specific programs or tweaks and unless you tell us which ones you mean, no-one can guess?
Okay... I try to be more specific...
We have a sticky thread of latest cabs of Kaiser which I have.
In that thread there are mentioned different cabs like:
1. Windows Live 10.6.32.2100 (extract from Latest OS available)
1b. Windows_Live_10.6.33.600 (new version out now (09.10.07) fixed by leepriestenator
2. HTC Task manager v2.00 (build 30740) (Extract from latest OS available) {major update fixed 05.10.07}
2.B HTC Task Manager v2.00 (build 30995} { 20.10.07)
I have those same cabs somewhere inside my Kaiser and propably or not they are at latest version. if I want to take care that my cabs are newest version but at the same time I don't want upgrade if the cab version is same what are mentioned in the thread.
So I only want update and only if latest cab is newer than cab in my Kaiser.
And my question is: How can I check what is f.e my Windows Live version in my Kaiser so I would know do I need upgrade it.
Is my explanation now better? F.e in windows vista I can always go to some sw help-about which is telling me usually what is my version nut I don't know how to do it in my Kaiser.
Surely you know what cabs you downloaded and installed?
Come'on... where is the problem??
Maybe my bad english...
Question is: How I can check what is current version of some cab which is inside and installed (from factory) in my Kaiser.
Of course I know these versions what I should download but how the heck I know cabs version inside my Kaiser and softwares from factory.
I'll try this once more: If I buy laptop from store (and every sw in that laptop are installed in factory). I am able to check f.e graphics driver version or messenger version and compare that version number to that what I am thinking about to download.
I have exactly same situation except I don't know how can I check versions of cabs installed in the factory defaults.
Task Manager, go into either programs or settings and look there. Click on it and then menu and then about. If the program was cooked in and you want to upgrade, install the same exact cab version and then uninstall. And then install the newest version cab. I don't use windows live so can't help you there, but it should have an about screen.
I also have some problem with you.
Because on some program there dont have about screen.
So we dont know which version we are.
I dont know if this is the best way to check the version, but I cant found any other way (may be other member know better way)
First you need to know the program name first
If you don't know the program name, than first download it first and extract the cab and open the XML file, in side there you can get the exe file.
Than you copy the file from our PPC to your PC than open the file properties.
And there you can see the version.

Cannot Install applications

Hi all,
For some reason, about 6 months ago, my Alpine started refusing to install applications: when I run an application installer on my PC, it comes up with
"Error in Windows CE setup files: Application manager cannot install this application on your mobile device due to an error in the set-up file. reinstall and try again".
If I copy a cab file on the Alpine and run it from there, everything works fine.
At the time I was on the "Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed" upgrade.
I had a backup of my original ROM on SD card which I have now re-installed, but I still get the same problem.
Is there any way of getting the Alpine back to its original state? It seems that something has been corrupted somewhere. Or is it the Activesync software?
Activesync 4.5.0 (build 5096) on windows XP
Operator version 3.11.1.167
ROM version 1.11.00.WWE
Date 01/27/05
Radio 1.03.00
Protocol 1337.42
Ext Rom 1.11.167
Thanks,
