Help Keyboard loose - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Can anyone advise me how to tighten up the keyboard on my Blue Angel? After using the case that has the sleeve that slides into the keyboard, my unit now has a very loose slide and the keyboard no longer holds shut.
Thanks in anticipation,

Good News !!!
75€!!!...bad news indeed!
A belt clip isn't going to be available for the case. i emailed them last Wednesday with the same question and got a reply Thursday, and they stated a belt clip wont be available because the unit is to heavy, and they dont want to risk damage to the unit.
I think £51 for a decent leather case is not bad considering they are hand made, looking forwards to mine arriving as the T-Mobile supplied case with my Ameo has done more damage than any abuse I could throw at the device, the plastic body has taken a hammering from the retaining lugs of the case - should look good in Green
As for a belt clip, it could prove embarassing - lets face it with the weight of the unit you could end up with trousers around the ankles in a very short time - Mike
I'm just going to put a chain around it and hang it on my neck. LOL, yea right.
How do you guys work around the plastic cover for the screen on the case? In my experience, when I purchased other cases with screen covers, the device wasn't very usable as I use the screen tap all the time. I had to cut the plastic out. I may have to do it with this one as well.
What plastic cover for the screen? I see no cover.
I see a small bit of plastic covering the LEDs, and there's a cutout or window for the status display. The screen area looks uncovered to me.
Mine may be here sooner than I thought, then! Red for me, as it'll look excellent in photographs.

Yes on the screen. I hope they didn't put one on there. Just makes no sense to me to put a cover on a touch screen device.
When yours arrives, would you mind posting some info on the case? Your likes/dislikes? I'm going to order one but will wait till next week possibly.
Of course I will post info, but I was told 15 days, as with the original post. If I have it sooner, then expect pictures and a mini review, because that's what I do

Sweet and thanks.
I wondering if they took our suggestions and implemented them into the design or if they came up with the case all on their own. I e-mailed Ruben a while back giving him a link to a post we started with things we would like to see of a case for this great device. One being the status window for when the phone is closed, etc.
I can't wait to read your mini-review.
just ordered mine. I ll let you know my thoughts and post pics as soon as it arrives
i think the window in the case (which you can see the date and time), will not work , because the keyboard needs to be closed on the screen self, and now the case is between the keyboard and the screen
Maybe i could be wrong but a short test show me that this wil not work.
Please let me know if i'm wrong on this.

Just to clear up your confusion....
Turn your keyboard round so the CLEAR (Transparent, see-through, whatever you want to call it) plastic is over where the cut-out on the case would be. Et voila! You can now see the screen.

Yes but i mean, the funtion of this wil only work when the keyboard is flat tot the screen (then the screen wil turn over to the date and time function).
try it yourself without the case , and try to remove the keyboard slowely
then the screen turn out of the date and time mode.
sorry for my english i'm from the dutch.
i'll hope you see the point now, the case self suites oke with the window on it

How would having the unit on your belt instead of in your pocket change the fact that your pants don't fit and will end up around your ankles. The same amount of weight will be pulling your pants down either way. I sometimes carry much more weight on my belt than the x7500 and my pants don't fall down you just need to wear a belt.

Either option is a non-starter for 'average' sized blokes. There's no way I could get the Athena in any of my trouser pockets.... and it would just look bloody silly attached to my belt.

Um, that's not what he means at all.
What he's saying is that the Athena needs to "detect" the keyboard is flat across the screen, rather than not properly aligned or not quite attached - so the leather panel on the case will mean the keyboard is likely to not be detected and therefore, the software will not change over to display the status bar.
It depends on the thickness of the leather, but a quick test with my PDair case certainly shows this to be true. Despite the keyboard "snapping" into place across the screen magentically, the Ameo doesn't sense that it is properly closed, and therefore doesn't switch the display over to the status bar.

the perfect case !!!

Thanks for letting us all know.
My only concerns are that the http://www.bluetrade.eu/index.php?page=product&id=8720 case found here will do exactly as the free case does, scratch the inside of the screen, and also ensure that all the letters wear off as there is no protection from the keyboard.
the great diffence is that
you can see the external screen when closed
and !!!
there is a belt clip !!!
The one from Case Logic seems promising but I don't think it will fit:
X7500 dimensions (mm): 133,5 x 98 x 16 (or x 20 with keyboard on)
Case interior dimensions: 138,2 x 82,6 x 25,4
Please report when you receive it and post pictures if you can.

S.

This one will work, and has a velcro belt loop:

I like the looks of the bluetrade.eu one. Cant wait for a mini review. How exactly will the x7500 fit on the belt for daily use.... Will it make you limp?
Looks to be about $49 USD for it after all shipping and paypal tax. The shipping to the US is more than the case costs
Looks to be about the same design as the Piel Frama and about half the price for people in the US. We will see what the quality is when someone gets one.

Thanks looks good indeed.. I did order one asw ell yesterday evening, let's see, they states it will take at least 10 days to deliver...
Hi,
I like the bluetrade one BUT ... I don't think the display will work proparly because the keyboard will a little bit separated from the Athena so the magnet will not recognized the keyboard is there (as it happens with the case it comes with the Athena). This is due to the smalls grips to hold the Athena.
4 weeks ago, I found this camera bag that fits to my Athena.
The brand name is TUCANO (www.tucano.it).
When I'm wearing a suit I use to carry the Athena in my jacket pocket without any kind of case.
But the rest of the time I use to carry a small backpack. For that reason, I was looking for a case which it could be complitely closed.
As I said, the one I'm using is from Tucano and is a camerga bad. There are several sizes. My one is 'Medium'.
I hope this would help anyone.
I will add some pictures so I'm sure you will have a better idea.
Best regards,
Alberto

i received it yesterday
... don't fit or nearly
X7500 gets in with dificulty but it gets
X7500 dimensions (mm): 133,5 x 98 x 16 (or x 20 with keyboard on)
Case interior dimensions: 138,2 x 82,6 x 25,4
there 's 1,5 cm left
so it's get in but it is too stretch and it is hard to get in and get then out
I'm trying to stretch it with something biger but after 24 hours still the same
it depends on the using of each one but for me for a constant use every day it s not usefull at hall

It's under the HTC X7500 category on their website so I'm hoping it fits. Aesthetically, it does not really tick any of my boxes but I've actually ordered one to try out until I get the case I really like.

you can also use the aircompact casing for a nintendo DS. it fits perfectly with side pockets and extra flap in the middle to protect your lcd and the keyboard from rubbing against each other

And protects the keyboard from any attempt to type on it.
It's not a BAD case; some aspects are well thought out, but it has NO belt clip option, and the keyboard is covered with a plastic sheet that warps and isn't quite flexible enough - even when new, before it had warped so much the ZXC row of keys was utterly unusable, pressing E or R would often send a half-finished reply to an SMS as it activated the soft key as well.
After a month of ownership the plastic was so bad, I traced the edges of the keyboard and cut a section out, leaving only the top row of keys covered and an edge around to hold the keyboard down.
Oh, didnt realise it had a crappy plastic cover over the keyboard! I assumed it had a magnet on the back like the original case... damn.

My magnet that holds the pen fell out - luckily i didn't lost it. However, i cannot find the place where it should fit in. Does anyone have a picture or can tell me where that thing normally sits?

iPad style magnetic cover?

I'm looking a non-keyboard screen cover that attaches magnetically (like the official keyboard) so that I wouldn't have to remove the back portion of the keyboard cover.
I've been searching around, but havent' been able to find anything... which is crazy that aliexpress doesn't have something like this yet even...
This is magnetic book cover without keyboard
https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/m...-tab-s6-book-cover-cloud-blue-ef-bt860pleguj/
I would also get one of those should they exist. The Keyboard cover is nice, but it adds decent bulk and weight to the tablet, and sometimes you just know you won't need to type...
Anyone?

wao.. i was going to ask the same thing... I really like the keyboard, but sometimes would like to snap it off and snap in a cover only (no keyboard) without having to remove the case from the back of the tablet....
Like @techops said, you are looking for the Samsung BT860 Book Cover. It is not cheap but perfectly worth the price.
I'm using this. It's just as good as the Samsung magnetic case in my opinion
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-10-5-2019/dp/B07Z4HKTM4
It is the next best alternative, imo. I had them both in hand / on device and decided for the Samsung one, despite double the price. I preferred the feel and quality. Also the magnets on the Samsung one were holding the Tab better.
But opinions do vary, of course.

Guys... I'm not looking for that.... let me try to explain...
The cover you suggest is a ONE piece cover.... the keyboard cover Samsung offers (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VZHQ2WF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) is a TWO piece cover... this is the cover I own... this cover "sticks" to the back of the tablet on one side and the keyboard flap magnetically connects to it...
If I were to buy the cover you suggest, I'd need to "unstick" the back cover from the tablet and then fitted to the cover you suggest. The problem is the "stick part"..... this is design to stick once in order to work properly.
What we're trying to find is a "flap" only cover that wot allow us only to remove magnetically the "keyboard flap" from the cover I won, and magnetically connect a simple "flap" cover, without having to "unstick" from the back of the tablet itself...
I hope this clears things up.. thanks!
edit: grammar
Ah, the thing I didn't know I needed
Know exactly what you mean... With the S3 I bought the bookcover because the keyboard cover made it a bit too bulky and I hardly used the keyboard itself. With the S6 I just have the keyboard cover and overall I like it (also, just pulling off the keyboard itself is easy and solves my main bulkiness issue when I don't need it at that moment. But a 'flap-only' would be great to just snap on for that extra protection and minimal bulk.

Well, that failed
Thing is there seems to be a set of magnets in the tablet which are faced North/South/North/South... (so alternating orientation). I only had a few magnets to play around with but couldn't get the cover to stick.
THink too sturdy and not enough magnetic strength. Also, how to properly get the magnets to stuck on the case was a bit of a riddle to me, supergluing or something... (and not knowing if and how I might mess up the tablet by randomly putting magnets against it kinda stopped me from going too far).
So yeah, I'll leave it alone for now and just ordered the normal book cover as well... just in case.
A seperate flap would be a great product and solution though!

Gotta be careful with cheap after market cases and magnets. Some have reportedly interfered with the S-pen. You would be drawing on screen and the marks would not show up on certain sections of the screen.
Anyway I understand why you want the back cover because it's slippery when holding tablet without a cover. In my honest opinion the Samsung Book Cover without the keyboard is the best quality option out there. You could easily do what you want with it by cutting off the front. The tablet easily attached to the back perfectly every time.
I don't have your dilema though as I have separate Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and I just use the whole book cover. I use the Illuminated Logitech K810 Keyboard and the MX Anywhere 2S Mouse.

Yeah I know... And yeah, would wish the keyboard cover used magnets as well just like the book cover (worked fine in the s3 as well so no clue why they changed it). But I do really like the keyboard cover actually, so that is the best for me as I don;t have a desire to walk around with seperate keyboard/mouse or use bluetooth for the connection.

Samsung Keyboard Case & another case

I didn't know the back piece of the Samsung keyboard case stuck to the back of the tablet. Now I can't use a rubber case for when I take the tablet to job sites.
Any suggestions for a easy to install & remove case that will fit over the kickstand back?
I had this one for my Tab S3 and I would swap it when I needed more protection with the keyboard stand.

I read on here that the back of the keyboard case will stick via magnets and not the stickers, if I can confirm this I would like to pull it off and clean off the glue.
I wish I checked before I stuck it on for the first time.
I have the keyboard and Ztotop case
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...s/update-version-ztotop-case-samsung-t4005463
The case fits over the tablet, and when unfolded so holding the tablet I can still attach the Samsung S6 keyboard/trackpad to the bottom. I carry the keyboard "along side". I also have a $20 bluetooth keyboard with backlighting form Amazon about the same size that sticks to the magnets in the case. Arteck HB030B Universal Slim Portable Wireless Bluetooth - The only problem is it doesn't do the Escape key no matter how I try to set it, and I prefer the Logitech K400+ layout or the Samsung).

So I just pulled the Samsung keyboard back off the tablet to use with a rubber case for working in the field, then it goes right back on without any problem. So I guess I don't need a case to fit over the back kickstand.
