Changing T Mobile's BB Connect details - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Is it possible to change the AP ip address and u/name & password, from t mobiles AP to a Vodafone AP?
What i'm trying to achieve, is to use their software to connect to vodafone's network.
Can you get into the registry and change the details? if so where?
TIA

I am looking for the same info...only for Cingular! Any and all help would be awesome!

Qtek2020i & Internet Explorer

I have a Qtek 2020i, ROM v.1.11.00 WWE, Radio v.1.03.00. Unlocked from the UK.
I am unable to connect to the internet via wifi. I can connect to my wireless router, decent signal strength, but when I click on Internet Explorer, I get a popup window, telling me "the page you are looking for cannot be found". No matter what I type in the web address line, I get the same message. The little Microsoft flag waves as it searches for the webpage, but will not connect. Everything else with the device works fine.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks, Irwin
I was able resolve the problem...
How ???

I think that it's related with ip, dns, wep or wpa setting problem.
In "Network card setting", choose internet connection, then choose "tiacxwln compatible wireless ethernet", use automatic ip if you use DHCP otherwise manually configurate the ip, gateway and dns.
for wep, you can add password without having to activate wlan first, for wap, you have to activate wlan first, then add SSID and password.
gprs !!!
my ppc also has the same problem an i was wondering wat to do in the case i am using gprs connection

Tether TMo Wing To AT&T Blackberry 8820 via Bluetooth

Hey guys,
Need help with this...it's driving me insane.
I have a Wing with a cooked rom (OpenTouch 4.0) and want to tether it to my 8820 to use its "unlimited" data connection. I can pair the Wing and the 8820 together via BT without a problem. On the Wing, I can see the Dial Up Networking option as a service provided by the 8820 and I have it checked. I created a connection to use the BB's Bluetooth modem, it sees the 8820, I select it and enter the correct # to dial (*99#) and no username or password, when I finish setting it up I try and connect and it errors out. I'm assuming that it's because WinMo doesn't have a field for one to enter the extra modem strings where I can enter the AT&T APN. So how can I go about doing this? I tried a registry hack which supposedly enables that string field but it didn't work.
I have my laptop tethered to the 8820 with no problems, so I know that the phone is capable of doing it, so your guidance is appreciated

Click on taskbar to open connection manager---->click or touch wifi to switch on-----> it will detect any wireless in range. Connect to one you want to connect to and then put any password if prompted.
Click to collapse
even wen you add the password it might not work. it like other brands such as nokia or etc, u would have to go 2 advance settings whenever u have typed the password den manully add the ip address and then there is a chance of u using ur wifi.
i thing if ur wireless wasnt locked u wouldnt have 2 face this hassle.

Connecting to ADSL Modem using WiFi

Hi,
I have ADSL modem, and I am trying to connect to the modem (via WiFi) and use internet on my HTC VIVA.
My internet connection requires authentication in order to connect. I can successfully connect to modem using Wifi connection. In order to connection to Internet, I added new VPN server from settings > Connections > Edit my VPN servers. I added all the credentials as provided by my ISP, however I am not able to connect to internet and access web pages from the Internet explorer of my device.
Please help me and let me know where I am going wrong?
Thanks,
You don't have to set your authentication data in your Viva.
All you need to do is connect to your ADSL modem using WiFi and start browsing the web. It should work correctly unless your ISP requires a proxy server.
Tell us what happens.
Hi GFX,
Thanks for replying. I connected to ADSL using WiFi, but when I open Internet explorer I get page not found.
When I was in US, I was able to access Internet as per your reply. But now I am in India and I am not able to access Internet.
Some of the differences that might help you or any other who would like to contribute
USA India
====== =======
ISP Comcast BSNL
Authentication WPA2-PSK Open
Data Encryption AES WEP
Thanks,
I'm not sure what's causing this.
Probably your ISP requires a proxy server. Can you connect to the internet using your PC??
The other thing is, your ISP has nothing to do with your ADSL modem authentication and data encryption modes! You can set these settings manually according to your personal needs. Read your ADSL modem user manual for more information.
A WPA2 authentication is recommended so you can protect your modem & internet connection from outsiders and hackers.
Check your ISP's website to see if they require a proxy server. And tell us about your ADSL modem brand and model so we can help you.
My ISP does not require proxy server, and I can connect to Internet using my PC. I am able to connect to my ADSL modem but somehow I am not able to connect to Internet.
Following are the details of my ADSL modem
Brand: Huawei
Model: WA1003A
Its an ADSL router.
Thanks,
OK, please check the following settings in your device:
1- Goto Start-> Settings -> Connections -> Connections-> Advanced tab-> tap on "Select Networks", and check that the first dropdown menu says "My ISP".
2- Goto Start-> Settings -> Connections -> Wi-Fi -> Network Adapters tab, and check that the first dropdown menu says "The Internet".
If you made any changes to the above settings, try to reconnect to the modem once again, it may work this time.
However, if you left the above settings unchanged then your problem lies somewhere else. Check if you can access the internet using Opera Mini, or try connecting to another router. Because we need to determine the source of the problem.
Good luck.
have you simply tried connecting via wifi with default settings?
when you switch on wifi, once the network is detected, you can feed in the values then right? sorry if this seems like a stupid answer but we often miss whats right under our noses,
Sorry for replying so late, was busy with lots of work for some time.
GFX: My connection settings are same as you mentioned. But even with these settings in place, no success.
karthiksk: I get connected to WiFi network, but after this I don't get any popup box in my device to enter the details.
Guys, however I got the solution, since my network uses PPoE, I had to configure these settings in my Modem. Earlier I was entering ISP credentials in an external PPPoE client on my PC, this way I can access Internet with only one PC at a time and WiFi was also not working.
I entered ISP credentials in my modem and configured PPoE settings. Now I can connect my PC (using Ethernet cable), my laptop using WiFi and my HTC device using WiFi at the same time.
Thank you all for helping me in trying to resolve this issue.
Good to see your problem solved.
Turns out it has nothing to do with your device!
Enjoy your Viva, it's a wonderful device.

This is a Windows Mobile and HTC VIVA forum, it is highly unlikely that you will get your solution here. and it is unsafe to post you mobile number.
I'm facing the same problem..it's not the ISP or modem..it's only & only viva...
It sucks badly...I purchased two different modem router..one of netgaer and other one of linksys...and the didn't work on both of them...wifi only works with the modem ZTE ZXDSL 531B

Why dont you try to set your MAC adress then? But if it doesnt work with any ROM, what about your wifi device, might it be broken? Did you already try to connect to other wifi networks? Did it work there? What channel does your router use? Maybe change it to another (between 1-10 I would say) one and try again?
Happy answering and testing

I think that wifi device is not broken, bcuz i connect 4-5 time in 2 days... but page from browser not open... maybe 100-200kb download and stuck... then disconnect...
how to rewrite the address in the etc / wifi / nvram.txt ... I tried with root manager and busybox tutorial from this forum but without success
EDIT: i made some progress... in router settings i change to United States (even I am in Europe - Bosnia) and channel 9... connect each time but not open any page in browser ???
The address in nvram.txt is a dummy MAC address and should interfere with the actually MAC address once it's fully powered on.

The mac address in nvram.txt is dummy address. It's only used if it fails to get proper MAC address or haven't got it yet.
Perhaps it's hardware issue.
