I have this 8125 running Summiter's latest and greatest. I also wanted to use it to connect to my L2TP VPN server. Configured the connection with the shared secret and everything, and it refuses to connect. Just says there was a server error. I pair my Axim to my 8125, and connect to the VPN with the exact same settings from the Axim via BT DUN. I can connect to the VPN from my laptop via EV-DO and BT DUN via the 8125. But the 8125 itself refuses to connect. Now, that is not the weirdest part... every now and then ActiveSync stops working... I could not figure out why, until I looked at my IP config... the damn 8125 was connected to the VPN... all by itself... and the "My Work Network" connection was disabled. DISABLED I SAY!
Has anyone else seen this kind of aberrant behaviour? Do I need to call Father Merrin? Do I need to use Gold Bond powder for those not-so-fresh days?

I cannot connect to wifi. It says connected and it says i have an IP address but i can't navigate to any webpages. I use WEP and have WM5. If I enter a wrong wep key it won't connect so i feel that i am actually connected to the network just my device isn't realizing it. Is there any manager like the cooked rom of 2003se where i could manually choose WLan as my option to connect to the internet. I have also tried turning off wep on my router and other settings like that. Changed in between connected to work or the internet. Any ideas?
I found the problem. for some reason it was trying to connect on my gprs proxt server. that would always deny the connection. I had to set up my GPRS as my work connection and a generic connection that connected to the internet and ONLY put this network connects to the internet. Also it only worked if i used the existing my work connection and didn't work if i created my own with the same settings..
All is now well in thw WM5 world.. no more resets!!! think this might be a bug though..
I just realized that this ONLY pertains to ATT GPRS settings because they are the only ones who need to set up a proxy server..
now that connections work with my wifi i have one problem and this occurs with GPRS also.. my connections seem to time out. I was trying to download about 50k of mail and after about 10 messages it says "Unable to connect to incoming mail server" I've been connected just fine.. then the connections fails.. i have to do it all over again..
Hi all, I have a weird problem.
I have a tilt and am using the HTC rom, I connect to wifi in my apartment and 3G or HSDPA when I leave the apartment.
When I'm connected through wifi, my Slingplayer works flawlessly, finds my slingbox, and plays the video. When I try to connect outside using 3G/HSDPA, I get "Cannot connect with current connection settings"
I know the Slingbox is working correctly because I can connect to it through a desktop PC without a problem, and I know that the 3G works fine on my tilt because I have no problem loading websites, using mundi, etc.
Any ideas? I've seen a couple other posts on other forums with the same problem but there were no responses on them.
Thanks!
Can you connect to anything else when on 3G?
Try your proxy settings
Did you change the default ports on the SlingBox config?
Are those ports (default or modified) open from the outside of your firewall/router?
If you have the ability to monitor inbound connections try monitoring while you connect through 3G and see if your device attempts on the correct port and that it is NATed to the correct IP and port.

I had exactly the same problem with my Belkin router. You need to set up a port on your router in order for it to work. I know on mine it involved setting up a virtual server.
I am using the TyTN II and I am having the same exact problems. I think AT&T killed access to slingbox somehow. I can surf the internet just fine, and then as soon as I start the slingplayer, my connection gets lost and my phone says "cannot sonnect with current connection settings." Any help would be appreciated, especially with the World Series coming up this week.

Possibly a silly point but can you definitely connect over the internet to it? Or just over your LAN?
There's a wizard that enables the port forwarding for you - (called Remote Viewing or something?) should be with the software for the slingbox.
Could be that your desktop is just going direct over the LAN?
Also, I had problems when I was just using the automatic settings to configure the box - in the end it works far better if you ignore the UPnP stuff, and use the manual setup process (or so I found). Again, the desktop software wizard steps you through this.
If you can connect over wifi at home, but not over wifi or 3g when away, then unless AT&T are blocking the ports, its more likely your router settings, as at home you are inside your LAN but elsewhere you have to go through your routers hardware firewall.
Just have a look at slingbox's help files.
SlingBox works fine on AT&T. Check your proxy settings on the phone. Try the "remove hidden proxy" cab. The home router also needs an outgoing port defined as well. Good Luck, I know it can work.
I will bet that it's your router/firewall blocking the incoming net traffic. Try connecting to it from a Friend's internet connection or a public computer at the library or something.
Had a similar problem with slingplayer mobile on my new HTC TouchPro- phone from Vodafone but I put in my T-mobile SIM as I wanted to keep the Web and walk.
Slingplayer worked fine from Vario3 with same sim but not from TouchPro. Eventually unticked the use proxy server in the connection settings and it started to work. Weird, as on the Vario the proxy box is ticked and it works.
Anyway, worth trying if anyone else is having problems.
One of two things, either you have not port fowarded your router to allow the Slingbox to be remotly viewed, go to portfoward.com for exact instructions for your specific router, or your hidden proxy is messing with it. More than likley its not port fowarded correctly. BTW...when your in your home network, i.e... using WiFi, it will work without the router being fwded because your slingbox is already inside your home network. When coming from the outside of your home network through 3g or whatever your router has to allow access to the slingbox.
hi everyone, i have some problems with the wireless function of my kaiser.
yesterday i tried scanning for wireless networks in my Uni and though I can detect wireless networks I couldn't connect to it at all.
i am not sure whether the set i bought has problems with the wireless networks.
On the Wireless Lan, somehow SSID , bssid tx and rx rates dont appear, despite clicking on change network and selecting on the correct network.
it says it is connecting then changes back to available without giving any error messages.
going back to WL, status is 'unconnected'
ip is 0.0.0.0.
When I try clicking on renew IP, nothing happens. the IP remains as 0000
under LEAP, the correct SSID and authentication type is displayed.
but when i try to enroll, enter my user id and password (Server is my ssid ?) and retrieve certificate it tells me that i am unable to do so.
How can I use it to connect to Uni network?
Is this server name the ssid ?
Is it a Cisco access point ? If it is for some reason youwon't be able to connect. I have the same problem as well

possible. i mean the it helpdesk runs the place like a military camp. doesnt tell us anything.
using a cisco vpn client though.
anyway i tried something by accident. i didnt bother reinstalling vpn client or the login software or attempt to connect to detected networks. simply tried connecting to the sch's intranet. somehow, it worked. though i didnt venture pass the homepage
I had the same issue
I hade exactly the same issue with the Cisco router we have here in my office.
Originally I thought it was my HTC Wizard as it would find the SSID but not log on, it would report it as unavailable.
I changed over to the TyTN II and exactly the same problem.....
However I have resovled this issue and I now connect semlessly to our metwork.
Basically I flashed my TyTN II (which was an O2 Stellar when I bought it from the UK) to the HTC shipped WM6 ROM and it connected straight away with no need to setup the wifi settings.
It may have had something to do with the fact I had to HardSPL it first and that sorted it our or just replacing the ROM.
Having only had this phone for a week I was a little nervous flashing but as long as you follow the very easy instructions it is fool proof.
I hope that helps.
I have similar problem with my Kaiser, can I ask which ROM/Radio you flashed and a possible link to the files ?
I'm on T-Mobile in the UK although the phone is an HTC Sim free handset
Rom 1.56.405.5
Radio 1.27.12.32
The phone went away for repair at HTC in the UK, it came back with a new ROM installed and since then I've not manged to get it to connect to my wireless router
Ok, so I have Duttys WM6.1 5.2.19700 on my tilt. now I have the unlimited pda plan on my phone also. I tried connecting to the vpn at my office, but the built in vpn client does not support group authentication, so I am now using Bluefire VPN client. I had it working last week after screwing around with the settings for a day or so. I saw that dutty had a diamond rom out, so I flashed with it and didn't like it so much (dutty does a great job and I'm sure he'll make it perfect at some point), so I flashed back. Now no matter how much I try, I cannot get bluefire vpn to connect to my vpn. it keeps giving me an error about failing to establish a tunnel. I tried having it connect through 'media net' and 'my isp'. I can't remember what the heck I did to have it connect before. I remember reading a thread about what the default at&t media net and isp settings were and I applied those, but they seemed to be the same as what were originally there anyway. I know my vpn settings for the office are correct. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks.
This is a continual bug that appears across certain roms, currently in the latest Dutty V2 Rom.AS works fine over GPRS, and via USB cable to the internet, BUT IMPOSSIBLE over wifi?
Does anybody else have this issue? I have tried very solution etc, I use mail2web exchange, and only stock roms will sync via wifi with it?
Microsoft has desactivated the wifi connection (for security reason) on after the
4.1 version, and WM6 synchronise with the version 4.5.
so plug the cable
The Bluetooth connexion has been disabled (to a computer), not the wifi one. I have an Exchange 2003 server, I'm able to connect and synchronize with ActiveSync my diamond to this serveur using Wifi (on the same network, never tried using internet, perhaps with Exchange 2007 in a few weeks).
Or perhaps is it synchronization threw internet that is forbidden ?
I dont think thats what we're talking about here...
Phone syncs with exchange via net perfectly when its not connected to pc, however when connected to pc phone can not access net
Assuming internet does work, firewall anywhere?
I had the same problem when I tried to connect to my exchange server the first time. Then I connected via 3G and the normal "set security..." came up, even though I set an unlock code before. Whatever after this first connection with 3G the connection with ActiveSync and USB did work fine.
