Hi guys!
It's my first post in this forum and it concerns the MDA Compact II I bought from T-Mobile a couple of months ago.
First of all, I'd like to say that I'm completely amateur in PPCs so don't laugh at me...
I'm interested in upgrading/modding my Charmer in order to be able to get WLAN SDIO cards. Is there that possibility? If yes, which steps should I follow?
Currently, the only thing I've done, is to have unlocked the device in order to use it with a SIM card from a Greek mobile operator.
Thank you all in advance. Waiting for your responses.
Cheers!
Hi All,
A few of us have had problems using Orange UK with an upgraded phone. E.g. see here.
My SIM card packed in this week so I got a new one. And guess what? It all works perfectly now!! The old SIM card must have been out-of-date or something.
I'm a very happy BA WM5 user now. Thanks to everyone involved in getting it so far!
Fraser.
This is def a Newb question
As the title mentions I have 2 G1s but only 1 Sim Card that has a data plan.
Is it allright for me to use my sim card in both G1s so that maybe one of the them i can test out a Hero rom, and keep the other one with a Cyanogen one?
Or will T-Mobile see the IMEI of the phone is different than the one "paired" with my SIM card, and thus not grand the 3g service?
would it be a problem for me to go back and fourth between the 2 phones?
thanks for any response!
You should be ok with doing that. When I go fishing I take my SIM card and put it in a samsung beat phone cause I couldn't care less if that one gets wet.
can some one please help me i don't know why i'm having random reboot on my phone, specially when i'm in a zone were theirs only one or two bars on my phone, here is my alogcat its pretty big ,thanks
If you're with tmobile try a new Sim card
Does it reboot when you have it on 2g only?
yea I have t mobile, and i have a sim card that is only 7 moths old, so i think is not the sim card. did you read the alogcat, cause i don't understand it..lol
My sim card wasn't that old either and I too was skeptical at first. A new sim card solved my problems and also for many others.

Hello all,
I am new to this site and I have an issue with my new HTC J One phone i ordered. T moblie and the android did a system update which made my original Samsung galaxy incompatible and unusable. I just got the new HTC J one from china and i cannot figure out how to insert my t moblie Sim card so that i can connect to the network... Also it is not accepting my SD card. Should i just buy a new SD that will work and can anyone help me through the Sim Card problem? I need a functional phone for work so this has been a very frustrating issue for me.
Thanks and hope to hear from someone soon,
Zenotha
Oh Dear Oh dear
The HTC One has an INTERNAL sd card you can't insert your own
The sim card works just like on an Iphone/Ipad you need ti use the clip it came with to open the sim carries - insert the sim into the carrier - then close it
PHONE OFF of course
Well, first of all, the J One is only sold in Japan and should only work on a specific carrier there - KDDI au. I don't know how you got one from China, double check to make sure it isn't a fake. Second, T-Mobile doesn't use standard international frequencies for 3G and 4G so you'd be stuck with a phone that can only work on 2G, unless you want to switch to AT&T. Third, if it's not accepting your SIM that means the phone is locked, so unless you're willing to learn Japanese, travel to Japan, subscribe to KDDI au and call them for an unlock code, you just bought an expensive brick.

Nope, the J variant has a removable back cover with a microSD card slot.
