Will Qtek Provide Warranty Service on a 9100 with 2.26 ROM? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I recently upgraded my Qtek 9100 to the T-Mobile 2.26 ROM and shortly thereafter, my speakers died. In reviewing multiple posts on this site, it seems that others have had the same problem. After wiggling the headphone jack as much as I feel comfortable and inserting more toothpicks and the like in the jack than I care to remember, I have determined that I need to send the unit to Germany for warranty service.
Before doing so, I wanted to revert / downgrade to one of the "official" Qtek releases (1.1.7.5, 1.6.7.1 or 2.17), but I have been unable to do so. I am able to downgrade to the Bubble 1.05 ROM but the 2.26 SPL remains. This prevents me from installing any other ROM except back to the T-Mobile 2.26. I realize that the warranty service centers frown on custom ROMs (such as Molski's - which is great!), but do they feel the same about provider ROMs such as T-Mobile since they are not a Qtek release? I just didn't want to send my phone away for 3-4 weeks only to have them tell me that they can't honor my warranty because of an unofficial Qtek ROM.
Is there any hope in sight to being able to downgrade the 2.26 ROM (and SPL)? Was anyone successful using BootLoader or the like to do so?
Thanks!

Do the downgrade again. I've had to do it twice on a few 8125's before all the versions went to 1.x

Thanks for the suggestion.
I am able to downgrade to the Bubble 1.05 ROM, but Iam still unable to upgrade to a Qtek official ROM afterwards. Reading through the posts, it seems that others are having the same difficulty.
Anyone else have any other suggestions? Has anyone turned in their Qtek for service without a "Qtek official ROM" on it? If so, did they perform the warranty service or refuse?
FYI, David (MMB) recommended sending the unit to Teleservice in Flensberg, Germany. Anyone have experience with them?
Thanks!

Need my MDA back to TMOBILE

I flashed my firmware with one of the Cingular firmwares. (my mda was already unlocked) Now when I try to use one of the tmobile firmwares to flash back it gives me an error. This is what I have installed now.
Rom 1.8.10.12
Rom date 12/1/05
Radio version 02.13.11
Protocol 4.1.13.05
IPL 2.21
SPL 2.25
GSM 02.13.11
OS 1.8.10.2
Can anyone tell me what is going on here. The phone is working and the data services work. I need someone to post the link to the best firmware flash for my TMOBILE MDA (us version) I have service with Cingular. I need the ROM that has the best receiption and performance and the most features that will work on my MDA Please help.
if you want to go back to the T-Mobile original settings, you need to upgrade to the custom ROM and then downgrade back. If you just want to have the T-Mobile settings, stick with the 2.17 custom rom that Xelecin cooked. I've found that his 2.21 rom was a lttle buggy, but his 2.17 rom is spot on. It has the cid/sim unlockers built in.
good luck

Need help!!! T-mobile MDA

I have been reading these forums for about a month now. I finally bought a unlocked MDA that I am currently using with cingular. I think my phone is CID locked don't really know. I want to upgrade the rom it still has 1.8.10.2 WWE Rom, It has 01.09.10 for the radio rom. I tried to update to the newest Qtek 9100 rom but it gave me a error on the updater. Can I update to the newest T-mobile rom and not have it locked back up? Please help I tell me what to do.
Thank,
Niko
hello there
Don't load the new tmobile version...download the 8125 ROM from here:
http://www.htcamerica.net/support/cingular_8125.html
It will work and make the phone a Cingular ROM phone. I did it today and it's awesome.
If you decide to upgrade the ROM to cingular, when you get to the end of the progress bar and it seems to stop for a long time...wait longer!!! It will work.
Good luck.

New phone, dumb questions

This is a dumb question I am sure...
I am getting a new phone from Cingular warranty since the touch screen stopped working on my current one. I am guessing I will get a new phone and swap in my SIM card. I am guessing they will send me a unit with 2.25 loaded on it.
I have been running summiters ROM (2.3) and really like it but I have a few questions...
1. Do I need to CID unlock the new phone or is this controlled by the SIM card? If I do, from what I have caught up with on the boards, I can no longer use Lokiwiz , so what do I do? I found a post from Faria http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=47848&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
that talks about downgrading, unlocking and then upgrading again but it seems to have mixed results.
2. Assuming that I solve #1 are there any challengers to Summitters 2.3 with CF2 + multiinstaller for folks on Cingular? I don't see any up.
3. Possible most important... Do I need to reflash my old phone to what it was shipped with or the official 2.25 so I don't have problems with the return. I am doing this all via mail so I wouldn't think they would check, but figured someone here had done this before.
As far as number one is concerned, you do have to CID unlock your new phone. The CID information is on the phone not the SIM card. Also, I didn't have any trouble downgrading from 2.25 in order to follow the directions in the post that you linked there. I had to do it when I had my phone's mainboard replaced.
For question number two, summiters AKU 2.3 ROM still seems to be the latest ROM out there for us Cingular folks.
Lastly, for number three, it couldn't hurt to flash back to an official ROM. I didn't have any problems when I had a summiter ROM on my phone when I sent it in for service (the USB port was broken so I couldn't reflash), however it's better to be safe than sorry ^_^

Thanks for the reply... should get it tomorrow and hopefully all will go well.
seems like everything has been answered, but i do want to add to question #3... I would flash back to an official rom, techinically according to the warranty process any rom that is not an official rom does void the warranty. So i would flash it back to an original rom before sending back. Im not saying they check, but i would hate to send back my phone with an un-official rom and get stuck with a $400 bill for a phone thats not in my possesion anymore...

Upgrading IPL/SPL help

well long story short I used to have a wizard g3 and in a drunken rage I (with the phone) ended up in a lake. I had that phone fully cid unlocked and my ipl/spl was in the 2.xx range and I had an updated rom and what not. anyways I got the wizard replaced with my insurance thank god and i just got the new one today. now I'm going through updating my rom and such. anyways, I ran the lokwiz tool and sim unlocked and superCID unlocked my phone and I was going to go try some new roms, btw this replacement phone is also a G3 version. and so I came across http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=61997 NEW Custom 2.26 ROM with CF2-SP1 Flash7 Java Rings Themes...
but I was reading on there and it said that my IPL/SPL have to be version 2.xx or higher, now on my old phone it was that way, but on this one its like 1.08 and I dunno how I upgraded them before cause I can't remember. anyways, I've been searching on the forums for a few hours... I'll keep looking, I hate posting for help with out doing some thorough research. thanks for your help in advance.
I did some more reading and I guess the ipl/spl are usually included in new roms and it's just not included on this rom. is there any way to just update your ipl/spl, that would be your bootloader version, right?
screw it I cant just find a bootloader upgrade, doing a full rom upgrade just to get the new bootloader... kinda sucks but ohh well.
thats what I had to do I used the official tmob 2.26 rom which did my ipl/spl - bootloader, then I flashed xelencins 2.26 rom which is like a "tmobile light" cooked rom which I'd reccomend for any tmob usa users.
then I did the radio only to get cingulars radio rom
it worked out fine, the less you flash your bootloader the better, if you f-up a bootloader flash your phone is a brick, your bootloader is the failsafe if a rom update goes bad...

Upgrade failed with "Update error[302]"

Qtek 9100 had molski 2.26 build and tried to flash ROM to XDA mobile 6. Now it sits at boot loader three colour screen showing IPL/SPL 2.26 and won't update further than 99%.
Any ideas how to resurrect this one?
UPDATED: I take it the lack of response means I've got me a brick then?
Go To This link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435
Then Go Download the T-Mobile 2.26 ROM which is in Step 17.
After That run it install the rom and everything should be back to normal.
that keeps happening to me while Upgrading to WM6. I Still Can't Get it to Work Right.
Have you tried to upgrade to a WM5 with AKU3 before jumping to WM6? Molski has a WM5 AKU3 2.26 ROM
I'm having similar trouble and feeling like an idiot. I've done ROM flashes before but have since had my MDA returned a couple times for warranty exchange and I'm afraid the CID unlock didn't "take"...when trying to flash to WM6 it got to 99% and then returned error 302...No problem, I'll just start over with an official ROM, right? Well, I can't seem to get through a ROM update now because the Tri-color screen is flashing on and off at various intervals and that is interrupting the connection.
Does a flashing bootloader mean I've officially bricked it or is there something I can do about this?
Help please! I love my MDA and want it back!
i already had the same problem, the simple solution which is that you have to make unlock your phone i mean both the sim unlock and cid unlock otherwise your phone will not do wm6
fixed
Got mine fixed by using the Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102.exe from the link in the definitive guide sticky.
Many thanks for your responses.
