Please can anyone assist me with this problem. I've had a Kjam before and i could downgrade it. But my new one came out with V.2.16.0001. Now this one i cannot do anything with.

imeicheck website claims they can CID unlock the G4 flash chip equiped Wizards.
Other than that you will have to use Roms that don't include bootloaders.
Search the forums there is info on all of this several times over.

I will be getting my MDA Vario tomorrow, and before i do too much customisaton and transfer my phonebook over, i would like some advice on upgrading.
From reading this Forum, i believe that I have to do a CID unlock and a SIM unlock. I am familier with a SIM unlock, but what it a CID unlock?
Also, from what i can gather, in order to do this - i have to downgrade to an older version of the rom first. Once i have done this and unlocked the device, does anyone have any recomendations on what ROM i should upgrade it to? I have heard the Qtek rom is a good one, but will is this the best one to be going for?

Hi, I'm new to WM5/vario as well (experienced on palms & treos).
You only need to unlock the wizard if you want to use another suppliers SIM card, and to get rid of the T-Mobile stuff you need to remove the Carrier ID (CID), so you can then change the rom to another one not recognised by your TMobile rom.
I understand, but could be wrong, that you only need to down grade if your device already has one of the latest a2dp stereo roms with push email built in.

Look through the threads. Lokiwiz has produced an unlocker that will unlock your MDA(SIM and CID). You will need to determine if you have a G3 or G4 and that will get you started:

i'm a no0b @ this pda stuff. i got this phone about a week ago and i have successfully sim unlocked it so i can use it with tmobile. now i want to cid unlock it to put the qtek 9100 firmware (rom) on the phone. i have searched but i couldn't figure out how to unlock the cid portion. i have read in threads people asking if they can unlock the sim using version 0.3 of lockwiz and then unlock the cid using version 0.2. no one ever seems to answer that question. can someone please answer my question of how to unlock my phone in detail please. i'd greatly appreciate it.

I`ve been reading a lot of threads, but`m not able to find, a guide to check if my G4 phone is CID unlocked or not, i already know that is SIM unlocked.
But how can i check the cid unlock without bricking my phone??
Also, after that, should i go directly to execute the upgrade, or i need to use the lokiwicz soft...

I've read about SIM and CID unlock - can anyone explain theses and tell me how to unlock this phone for any network without killing it - yes i know i have to accept certain risks.
Once I've done that I want to flash the ROM. there a few guides on here but they seem to be written for tech minded people. I'm not a complete dunce but i don't wanna risk £400 getting it wrong.
I have found a few ROM's that i fancy and am sick of the crappy Orange flavour.

To use any carriers SIM card you need to SIM(aka Subsidy) unlock the device. There are a few places that will do it for a fee. I believe there are some references on the forum for people you can find with a search to do it or you can try:
