Hard Reset with Storage Card question - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I have a MiniSD card with just a couple of games on it. I need to Hard Reset my 8125 and dont mind reinstalling these games. Do I have to format (erase) the MiniSD Card before I Hard Reset, or will Hard Resetting the device automatically wipe everything off the MiniSD card? Also, should I Hard Reset with the MiniSD card in the device, or do I take it out when doing a Hard Reset?

personally I would uninstall the games before you hard reset your device. First time I hard reset, it told me I already had the game installed and asked if I wanted to re-install. It worked fine, but you could avoid that question if you un-install before the hard reset. Others may have a different opinion.

Major SD Card problem..

ok ive had my 256mb, 512mb and 1gig sd card working fine on my BA until recently..now im running into the following problems:
1. all the cards are recognised on the BA, but i'm prompted with this "Do you want to format this storage card to make it readable". Following the successful format, neither system nor applications like Resco or SKTools see the Storage Card.
2. I've formatted using both Fat16 and Fat32 on pc but again when inserting the cards into the BA i get the same "Do you want to format this storage card to make it readable". After formatting, the same result as no.1.
3. Ive read that un-checking "Enable advanced network functionality" would help. Have tried this and soft-reset with the same problem.
4. After formatting a card in the BA and then sticking it into the card reader on my desktop...the pc doesnt recognise it and prompts to format it. So this keeps going round and round with both pc and BA prompting to format before use. However the pc recognises the cards after formatting them.
5. After the BA formats any of these cards..I soft reset..but then it prompts to format again after the soft-reset.
6. Tried using StorageTools but it never recognises any of the cards when inserted..even after the BA has recognised it and apparently successfully formatted it.
7. Finally tried a hard-reset and restored my backup but still none of the SD cards are recognised.
Now it seems maybe a system problem or possibly a hardware fault..but the cards do initially get recognised when inserted into the BA but its after the BA formats it that nothing appears.
Have had a search in these forums...tried chkdsk on all cards without errors..but I'm still stuck..hope someone out there can help. Thanks in advance.
definately some hardware problem in BA.
i have a broken WIFI chip.
welcome to the club.
SD Card Problem - QTEK9090
I have the same problem with my 2Gb Storage card. I have updated my QTEK9090 to WM6.0 and after the update my storage has the same problem.
Im trying to find some patch or upgrade to this problem.
Try this
After some times, ived already had such problems like yours, and i think ived already fix it, ahm try to install wm5storage on your device, then activate it,, then connect to the PC, IT will, promt as removable disc,, just format the SDcard, then try to restart it,, im n0t sure if it would work on You BA coz ive done it on My HIMALAYA, but again its worth of trying,,

Well, you've already tried different STORAGE CARDS and same thing happens right? You've already tried reformatting it using your PC and also with your BA and same thing happens right? You did a hard reset and samething...definitely a hardware problem. But before this, what happened? Before your BA stops reading your storage cards, what happened?

Problem with SD Card, Help

Hi,
I just bought the Sandisk 2GB miniSD card, however, when I try to install program from ActiveSync, but the option is disable for the choose destination of the program. I cannot get it to work.....please help. Thanks
Soft Reset
Usually the unwillingness to install on the SD means the device hasn't seen the SD card.
Often, I have to reset to get my MDA to recognize the insertion of an SD card, once I had to reset twice.

Lose memory in internal storage if you hard reset?

Does anyone know if you will wipe out your 4gb internal storage if you hard reset your phone?
thanks!
internal storage
Easiest way to reset it to go to setting and where it says...clear storage open and choose your options. Works for me.
No you wont. The 4GB internal storage is kept intact.
thanks man!
you get to choose on the hard reset menu if you want to hard reset the phone and format the internal storage or if you just want to hard reset the phone memory.

8925 Wants to Format My Storage Card

I have just recently went from a 8525 to a 8925. I used a 4GB Microsd CARD IN THE 8525 and I did nothing to use it with my 8925. All my music files and installation files were on this card. I have been play my music with no problem and have had no problem with this card after numerous soft resets.
This morning I decided to us WM6 A2DPTweaker. All I did was change UseJointStereo from a 0 to a 1 and then did a soft reset. After the soft reset I got the following Storage Card: Do you want to format this storage card to make it readable? This will permanently erase any files on the card. YES NO
Of course with all my files on the card I said no. Of course this makes the card inaccessible. I think I am screwed and the only way I will be able to use the card again is to format it. The worst part is that all my file backups are at work and I won't be back to work until Monday.
Is there anything that can be done or is the card lost until I format it? Worst case I will read and backup the card at work Monday and then let the phone format the card.

do you have a external card reader? if so use that to read the card using your pc and copy all files to pc. Than format card and reload files to the card from pc. Other than that i think waiting till monday is the only other option unless someone else has a better idea ..
Happy thanksgiving.

Does factory reset delete all photos?

Factory Reset from settings.
That says when doing it but I'm not sure if it is, could someone who has done it answer me?
It erases everything. Not only your photos.
The devil is in the details - factory reset, like as in fresh out of the factory...
If you have an sd card transfer everything you want on to that and it won't erase the sd card, unless you then format the sd card...
Only if they are stored in internal storage if they are all on sd card Factory reset doesn't affect them. Transfer all photos to SD and download smartswitch app and make a backup store it on sd as well then do your reset and voila!
