final solution to cid unlock wizard g4 chip spl/ipl *.001

Please whats the best solution to making the wizard with G4 chip cid unlock ?
is it by going to http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3000unlock.php or
something else?

Search the forum for "lokiwiz " (sorry, i dont have the thread) v. 2b should be able to unlock the CID. There is also version 3 available but i guess any will do.
You have to be logged in to be able to download it.

thank you very much. I have gone through if not all the threads about upgrading. I noticed that people who had the G4 chip had problems upgrading . and some people have also said that you cant unlock the cid of the G4 (spl/ipl with .001 at the end).
I am looking for how to acheive the unlocking of the cid, hence i will be able to do upgrades and downgrades as i wish.

I think http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3000unlock.php is good & cheaper for cid unlock, as compare to other method. The JAxxx method will cost you around EURO 85 to buy the dongle & 1 unlock credit & you have to wait for the dongle to arrive.
If you just want flashing PDA into other language on G4 PDA, you can use update_utility_no_id , no need cid unlock. Search this xda-developers.com forum for the tool.
Even after CID unlock, Downgrade a g4 rom to a g3 rom, from my experience, the radio will not run properly. A G4 PDA can only use a G4 rom. A G3 PDA can use a G4 rom , because the G4 shipped rom has 2 IPL & SPL, will fit both e.g. 2.21 IPL & 2.21.0001 IPL

Currently you are right - A G4 rom cannot be unlocked free via any software available on this site. If you truly want to unlock you're phone, you're going to have to pay.
That noted, you will always have to make sure that the ROM you're flashing will not replace your bootloader (which is a safe way to go anyway) or flash with a newer bootloader than what you have (which is the IPL/SPL 2.x). Do not ever go backwards (1.x bootloaders) because you will brick your device.
The only saving grace you can give an attempt to is the lokiwizMSL03a or lokiwiz03a programs by machinagod. I cannot confirm if these have or have not worked with a G4 chipset wizard.
Safe bet currently for G4 wizard owners - pay to get the thing unlocked; you won't brick your device.

Ok so if i was to use the http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3000unlock.php to cid unlock the g4 wizard, i wont need to worry about what rom im flashing, i wont need to worry about the spl/ipl ? So basically your saying all the flexibility of the G3 will be available for the G4 ?

Wrong.....
The Custom "Cooked" Roms on this site only contain the IPL/SPL for G3 as that is the most common chip.
Also 1.x Roms have no G4 bootloaders.
Even CID unlocked you will be limited to "Official" Roms or "Cooked" Roms either missing Bootloader or specifically with G4 Bootloader.

thanks that clears up alot of questions, one more thing i need to know, cause i have started working on the wiki. the G4 and the G3 versions, are they limited only to the tmobile vario or all types of wizards. ?

It can be any descendant of the Wizard from what I hear, either a model 100 or 200, be it a Cingular 8125, or a T-Mobile MDA. Always check your SPLs before flashing. The phone you save just may be your own.

Why pay for something you can have: free, better, safer???
Don't CID unlock your device, it's a waste of time and money. The best solution is, IMHO, to remove the IPL/SPL parts from the ROM you want to install: it'll take you only 2 minutes! This solution is also better than CID unlocking in three aspects:
- It's free. No need to comment on this
- It's better: in a CID unlocked G4 phone, you cannot install the home-made ROMs you find in this forum (like summitter's ones or MrClean). If you cook your own ROM, on the contrary, you can install whichever 2.x ROM you like
- It's safer: if you correctly remove the IPL and SPL parts from the ROM you want to install, the event of a major damage (bricking) is highly unlikely. Even if your PC crashes or there's a power outage in the middle of the upgrade you will still be able to boot your device and to repeat the upgrade!

For example aku 3.2 Os and my own Extended ROM and Splash Screen.

Noob with a question.

Hi, I search and read alot post here but before I go on with flashing my rom I just wanted to make sure.
1. My new phone is a 8125, came with IPL SPL is 2.25, with no .001 trailing means G3 phone? but my phone is new so i'm surprise to see i have that chip since it's a newer model. So is it G3?
2. I know aWizard is unable to CID unlock cause i have 2.25 get a error message.
3. I read on another post I have to downgrade to 1.xx something inorder to CID unlock, can I do that with my 2.25 without bricking my phone?

It sounds like you have a G3 device, however I wonder why you would want to CID unlock your phone. It is really risky and also pointless as well.

But main thing that pisses me off that if any of them will lose thier phones, they never will get a G3 device, cuz there's no vendor who manufacturing this version phones anymore. and after that they will focus on coocking ROMs so they can be puted to G4 wizards. this address : http://www.imei-check.co.uk/ only do sim unloking for G4. but some ppl claim that there is a way to unlock but no1 start a thread abt it.
and the question: were's a truth ? were's a information for ppl to whom u do this work that brings no money?

If it is really possible, we won't have so many people complaining about their G4 being bricked... so no, we haven't found a way to CID unlock G4s as of now...

G4 Unlock sucessfully
I unlock my Wizard (G4) using this procedure, Yesterday. Now I'm able to install any ROM including the greatest Faria(3.0.0.0) ROM.

its been tried and tested hence why g4 can install my rom.this does not mean that you can install other rom cookers rom.i have a way of cooking roms that are compatible with g4.
but you will atleast be able to to flash any provider rom.make sure it is above aku2.never try to install a rom with ipl/spl 1xxxx in a g4.you will brick it,even if it has been unlocked.

pearhaps i'm the 5th person who break his G4 they change it to me and they gave me one with SPL/IPL 2.21 no 000 neither 0001 i think it's G3 i'm i wrong ?

ok now i'm sure i have a G3 with Molski2.26 SPL/IPL 2.26
can i downgrade it and CID unlock it without probleme ? because i remember SPL / IPL = or >2.21 can not be CID unlocked using Lockwiz2b !!
if no can i install Faria 3.00 ROM and return back to any rom 2.xx ?

I unlocked mine at imei-check yesterday and upgraded to the latest Faria ROM no problem.

40$ for unlocking at http://www.imei-check.co.uk/ is not much but still the money

I'm surprised no-one has found a free way of doing it yet, clearly it's possible, hopefully someone in the know will get lumped with a G4 and be forced to find a way

I have no programing knowledge, but it seems like someone who does and has a G4 should be able to reverse engineer that utility that imei-check uses to figure out what they are doing?
You guys that have unlocked your G4, are you able to do a ROM backup to the SD card?

Me too yesterday did CID unlock my G4 in imei-check.co.uk and flashed Faria's ROM. Now I can install any AKU 2.X / 3.X rom (shipped/custom) without IPL/SPL.

Basically can a G3 IPL/SPL be put onto a G4 device after the G4 has been CID unlocked, or will G4 users always have to use ROMs with the IPL/SPL removed from them?

THAT's what you CAN'T do. Don't use a G3 ROM on a G4 device. It's not the IPL/SPL that's the problem. It's the bootloader. If you flash with a rom that's not compatible with a G4 device, and your G4 is unlocked, it will flash. But the next time you try to boot it it will not boot. That's because the bootloader for a G4 is different than a G3.
I paid imei-check to unlock my G4. I thought like you did, that I could now flash any rom. So I did. Then I bricked it because I flashed a G3 rom with a G3 bootloader. Silly me.

don't mix g3 & g4
I understand from reading this forum that G3 devices can have their IPL/SPL changed whereas the G4 devices cannot. I am a bit unclear if G4 devices can upgrade updwards (someone please confirm) but I know they cannot go down to IPL 1.xx
So the difference between G3 & G4 updates is that G4 updates do not have IPL/SPL components. I have taken a G3 Mr Clean update, unpacked it and repacked it without the IPL/SPL and it worked without any problems on my G4. Details on how to do this are in this forum.

Ok I am stuck for sure. I have Cingular 8125 with stock ipl/spl 2.25. I wanted to install faria Aku 3.2 rom and followed the instructions to a T. I downgraded to "CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE," Then CID unlocked my phone with Lockwiz 0.2 by placing enablerapi.cab in phone and executing it. All went well. Then I upgraded to Moleski's "RUU_Molski.Biz_AKU2.3-226102_22610105_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2," and then tried to upgrade to Faria's "FARIA-HTC-WIZARD -3.2-RC1-8MB Rom." (Even removed sim, and hardreset as per instructions) Everything seem like it was going smooth. After installation, the only thing that changed was the flash screen nothing else. So I tried to flash back to the stock ipl/spl 2.25 and I get an error message regarding the nk.nbf file. Now, no matter what rom I try to install it stays at ipl: 1.01, spl: 2.26, GSM: 1.12.10, OS:1.5.4.2. Where did i go wrong.

IPL/SPL is the bootloader and bootloader is the IPL/SPL.

Got myself in a bind

Even though my 8125 was running just fine on a Molski ROM I got months ago, I had to go fiddle with it and see what kind of damage I could do. Now, I have myself stuck at IPL 1.01, SPL 2.26, GSM 01.12.10 and can't seem to find a way to get my IPL back to the 2.xx range. Since there are no longer any ROMs posted here, I am afraid to try some of the ones I am finding elsewhere since I don't know if I will turn my Wizard into a paper weight.
Does anyone know what ROM would be the best to use to give me a newer NBF so I can just put the current factory ROM on? I had read that the MrClean_RUU_WIZARD_224a_AKU23_WWE would be the right one, but I can't find it anywhere now.

Run the T-mobile 2.26 rom which you should be able to get from tmobiles site. that will get you to ipl and spl 2.26

Appreciate the thought, but the T-Mobile site requests that I enter my phone number, which is not a T-mobile number, but a Cingular number.

Then grab the rom from Cingular's site. I believe it will get you to IPL/SPL 2.25.
Any AKU2 carrier rom will help you (assuming you are CID unlocked since you previously had Molski's rom installed) In any case if you are a cingular customer and got your phone through them normally even if it is CID locked it is locked to Cingular and you can flash their rom.

That's the whole base of the problem here, as I said in the first post my IPL is only 1.01, so trying to install the Cingular ROM gives me the infamous "Please get a newer NBF file" error. I've tried everything I can to take care of the problem, but the needed ROMs to work back up to where I need to be are all gone.

Wizard Love and the Button ROMs are both available on PirateBay. Use the Button to do a CID Unlock again, or use Wizard Love to try to just recover.
As for the T-Mobile site, if you use the link in the sticky for how to CID Unlock by Dr. P, that one does not ask for a phone number. Takes you directly to the place where you do the download (I just downloaded it again yesterday and can email it to you if you need it (PM me with your email)).

Sorry, I didn't get out of your first post that you had tried the offical Cingular ROM just that you wanted to end up on it. Read through the G3 unlocking sticky. The button 1.05 rom should do the trick. I think the link in there is working though it may be a slow download. I no longer have any wizard roms on my system or I would host it so you could grab it real quick.

I haven't done this before (so take it for what its worth) but you could pull the Cingular RUU file apart with WinRAR, and get the nk.nbf file out of it and run that with a Rom Update Utility NOID (that comes with most of the custom ROMs) and that should allow you to flash it no matter what the IPL/SPL are at as I understand it. (so you shouldn't get the need newer message).

Okay, download the button ROM and the T-Mobile ROM now as well as printing out the unlocking guide. I know I've done this before, but it was a long time ago.

You know what, just reading the ENTIRE FRIGGEN INSTRUCTIONS solved the problem. One little line towards the end of Doc's instructions ... "A last note. If you DO ever go back to the 1.05 ROM for any reason you need to repeat the lokiwiz steps as you won't be able to install a 2.x IPL/SPL bootloader."
That's it, one little line on the last page that I just skimmed over and that's all it was in the end.

I have been reading on this website for weeks now... i have an I-mate K-jam... also known as many other names... but i have CID and SIM unlocked and soft and hardloaded it... i just cannot seem to find a rom that i know will work... i have tried a couple and they just fail... i would like to find a wm6 with some type of touchflo... any information would be greatly apprecaiated... i have read many of the newbi upgrading forums so if there is anything else i am missing please tell me

Are you sure it's 2.16.001? Isn't it 2.16.0001 (note 3 zeros)
If it's the latter then you have a G4 and i don't see how you have managed to HardSPL'ed a G3. The utility doesn't allow G3

Well,if you have tried to HardSPL,then,you didn't do it correctly,coz,your IPL/SPL remain the same as original,they have not changed,Do the methods again correctly,and there won't be any problem upgrading to wm6,there won't be any reason to be LOST,lol
