Hi...
As in topic, I've a PDA with damage power button
Is possible to go in Boot Loading Mode without use this button, maybe exist another combination or some utility to put pda in this state?
Iam not sure but isnt in the upgrading tools (Helmis ROM) an EnterBL.exe?
When I flash (other BAs in my pool) an original WinCE image from mi provider it automaticaly sets the device in bootloader mode.
BUT your next problem is that you can NOT hardreset the device without a working powerbutton!
Yes it is
But EnterBL.exe running from MDA take no effect
Yes the original one do that automatically, but for example Helmi's don't.
I may Hard Rest with: "Quickly press "Record" & "Camera" before the versions appear at bottom right" - I think .

Hello. I am in desperate need of help. I left my blueangel charging in the craddle last night only to find it this morning with a blank screen. After trying to soft and hard reset it without any success all it shows is the blue imate startup screen and the software versions in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. I would appreciate any advice on the matter.
sounds like rom problems
first try remove battery for couple of minutes
also remove sdcard (if any inserted)
replace battery and reset device
if this won't help
Only thing you can try is to update the rom
I would also appreciate the contact details for a service center in spain. I have an Imate PDA2K bought in the UAE.
Thank you vastloper, I have tried that several times but makes no difference. On top of everything else I cant update the ROM as ActiveSync will not recognise the device, basically it will not connect to any other device. Any clue?
You do not need activesync to upgdate your rom, you need latest rom no matter which provider or version, reflas and then connect via activesync
why would ROM become defective all of a sudden? makes no sense.
take out the main battery and leave it for a few hours, (or overnight), so that the backup battery drains.
Then reassemble the phone - it should perform a hard reset on its own.
If this doesn't work, u may have a hardware problem.
try this for whoever get stuck at boot screen or in bootloader mode
1. Download mtty v1.42 from http://files.pdamobiz.com/ROMs/XDA/mtty1.42.rar
2. Stop ActiveSync, by Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete)
kill two processes rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe
3. put your device into Bootloader Mode by pressing Power + Record Button and Soft Reset.
4. Run mtty (from downloaded) Choose WCEUSBSH001
5. type "set 14 0" without the quotes to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset.
6. type "task 28" to get your device formatted
7. type "task 0" to ask your device reboot
8. take the device out of the cradle, and manually reset it if it does not do that already.
good luck.

i try to upgrade my pda2k with wm6...but screen remain with 4 stripes coloured...so i would to know if is possible to came back in wm2003.
thank you.
Yes, you can back to wm2003. By same as you upgrade to wm6. First of all, you might be have lastest official wm2003 or what ever you want. Then make your BA into boot loader mode (Power, REC and Reset at the same time), display will shown you "USB Serial. Put it to cradle or cable that connect to PC. Run your official rom and following the instruction.
thank you!
and where i can take this 2003 rom for my pda2k?
thank you
before you do... try to "Hard Reset" your WM6 first....
Steps:
1. Stick the reset button.
2. Quickly press and hold the two side buttons
(record + camera) simultaneously before the hardware display.
3. Select No Yes Yes in the given option
(press record to navigate on the three option)
(press camera to toggle Yes/No)
4. Press your mail button....
or second button from the left of your four button shortcut keys.
5. (optional) Cross your fingers and kiss your phone.
i've had that problem when i flashed mine with Xplode's ROM and that solved the problem.
Help, help!!!! (
Certainly when upgrade from WM03 to WM06, we all must go to the boot loader option to clean registry, disable KITL, clean storage...etc . However, poor me, I have an XDAII with broken record and camera button, so that I can not get in Boot Loader ( Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton )
So could any one solve this problem?
many thank!!!!
As this is a mechanical problem, - you can't press buttons, which are physically not there -, there is no software solution!
A little workaround might be possible, but untested yet:
As it is not necessarily so, that you have to do a hard reset to end upgrading,
you can try to skip it, in case the last thing you did in WM2k3(SE) was a hardreset.
There should no difference to a fresh upgraded system, which had done a hr afterwards, but it's untested!!!
To do a hard reset on a running WM5 or WM6.X system, you can try to downgrade, hardreset WM2k3(SE) (As I remember this OS does use this buttons to hr) and then upgrade again. It looks wierd, but might work.
For cookers only:
I suggest to use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=510805,
as it's a WWE rom without camera-function for cooking.
Delete everything that belongs to the camera to get a little bit more sectors to fill with apps and proggis you need.
Thank so much for your helping, your guiding is quite clear and detailed but....it's not work surely. The way to get in boot loader depend on model of Xda, not depend on the version of rom. The Himalaya use fomular "Reset +Camera + Button" permanent whatever u use any wmXX
Well, I use Powerbutton -DPad -Reset to enter bootloader. No use of Camera button there.
In WM2k3(SE) the hard reset is powerbutton and reset, as I remember, please correct me, if I´m wrong.
Still no use of the missing button.
Enter bootloader and flash, then try to skip hard reset. Although it is better it is not needed.
To do a hard reset on a running WM5/6.X system use the tool of post#18 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351811&page=2
Change options to allow hardreset, tap on left upmost icon twice, tap and hold hardreset and run selected.
Voila, no button needed!!!
Tap the icon left of the '?' and enter anything you want. Congratulations.
Flasehed this ROM: 23563 V2 FULL WWE-ITA using Jump SPL 1.93 which went fine but later after installing the apps asked to reboot.
Once clicked on the reboot unable to get the phone back.
Does anyone have any ides on this. on how we can recover this. Or Flash another ROM from this state.
Moved as not ROM Dev.
By unable to put back on i imagine you can't power on device? Remove battery and try after an hour or so.
If not then maybe the end of the road.

why did you use jumpSPL to flash a complete ROM???????????
its written everywhere that jumpSPL is only meant to flash HardSPL...and HardSPL is needed before you can flash any ROM. i mean why???????!!!!!
follow the advice the chef gave you in the thread for the ROM because i noticed you posted your question there as well in addition to starting a new thread here.
Try flashing Stock rom via 2GB or smaller SD Card. Check the wiki for Stock OEM Roms from your BRANDED Device.

Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Kaiser Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your computer
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to KAISIMG.nbh
4. Copy the KAISIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Hold in the Power and Camera buttons, then press the reset button with the stylus for about 3 seconds until the BootLoader screen appears
7. You will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
8. A message will then pop up asking you to press the Power button to start the update
9. Press power button to start flashing
10. Once phone finishes flashing and says Update Complete, reset with the stylus
11. When it gets to the screen where it configures the stylus, HARD RESET
(press left and right softkey buttons on the front and hold in reset with stylus until message appears)
12. When prompted, Press "Send Button" (Green Call Button on Front) to Clear Data
13. When prompted, Press "Send Button" (Green Call Button on Front) to Restart Phone
14. Follow onscreen instructions to set up your New Rom

Flashing Your First Kaiser Rom (For Noobs)
Guys,
Thanks for your advise, i have recovered my phone, i went into boot loader screen then flashed the original HTC ROM which is "TyTN II_AUS Hutch_WM6.1_Upgrade_20080602" which went through fine and ALL IZ WELL so far...
The reason i used the Jump SPL is that when i flashed normally, i was not able to get the ROM upgrade, it was throwing error message UPDATE error...
so
1. checked some info and Ran Jump SPL 1.93
2. Right click on the Active Sync then unchecked the USB connection
3. Connected back and ran the KaiserCustomRUU.exe
which went fine but anyhow learn lesson...
Thanks once again for everyone...
I tried to do a TASK29 and somehow in the folder there was no task29.exe, so i used the ROMUpdate utility ..and asked me if i wanted to upgrade to somewhat ROM 2.0.0 (?something?)..(i thought that was part of task29 job...) and now my device is blocked in HTC white splash screen...
hard reset still same issue does...
is there any ROM Update utility that can be used without starting the windows from the phone?
or..what can i do to connect my phone to the PC?
i managed to do 4-5 ROM Updates without problems during time, but somehow..this TASK29 job did not work.
is it possible that i deleted the Operating system from the phone?

If am not mistaken, Task 29 did exactly what it should do which is wipe your device clean. Now what you have to do is enter bootloader by powering on your phone while holding the volume down button. If your phone is not off, do a soft reset by pressing the reset button on the side while holding down the volume down button. You should come to a tricolor screen and it will say "SERIAL" in the bottom. When you see this, plug in your USB and on the screen it should change from "SERIAL" to "USB". At this point open up your rom folder, click on the "Rom Update Utility" and follow the prompts and you should be all set. Hope it helps.

sorry. solution found
"if you fail to press vol down key and your phone get stuck on the white screen, just remove your battery, then try again: press power, and keep vol down pressed immediatly next, until the phone get to RVB bootloader.
When your phone is back to RVB bootloader screen, use the leocustomruu.exe provided with your favorite rom package to flash a new rom, or flash it from memory card using standard procedure."
you can close this thread.
