I am trying to install .NET Framework under the PDAViet3 release but it says a newer version of NETCF is already installed.
I cannot find it under the add/remove area. I am having trouble installing Cavemen (Game) and it says that NETCF isn't installed.
Anyone else having similar troubles?
cf2 is embeded in the rom. dont waste your time.
damn.. How can I install Cavemen then? It asks for CF core to be installed.. there must be somethign wrong if it cannot recognize it right?

Suppose the problem is in Caveman. It looks for the CF2 while PDAViet supposingly has CF2 SP1 which is newer, so the error is thrown. I've had the same problem with some Wi-Fi third party app (don't remember which one exactly).

I was wondering about how to install the .net file from microsoft. Someone told me to do it through activesync but I don't understand how to actually install it to the phone from activesync. Any help will be appreciated.
Not sure if this is the proper way to link you to the file, but this is what I used to install .net 3.5 on my fuze:
http://justpctech.com/PPC/NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab
Hope that helps (Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to attach the file).
thank you. I hope it works.

I'm gonna play nice with this as your posts would indicate you are somewhat new to this sort of thing
Basically download the file from MS to your pc or laptop.
Sync your phone to PC or Laptop using activesync. Once you have done this run the .exe file on your pc or laptop and it will automatically extract, install to your pc/laptop and install what is required to your phone. Done.
Quite easy really.
Oh, a word of advice.
One would assume you are installing this so you can run Advanced config or something of that nature. Pls pls ensure you read up on tweaking prior to making changes. Advanced Config is basically a GUI interface to your phones registry. Bugger your reg up and its hard reset time baby!!
nah, im not that new. I already installed .net. Now that post again was due to something random I don't know about. However, i would like to know if i am supposed to uninstall the previous version of .net or does the touch pro go ahead and use the newly installed one. I'm wondering this because I know some people were having this problem.

You do not uninstall version 2 -- some programs need that instead of 3.5. As for configuring, use .net config. Go here for instructions and download: http://www.modaco.com/content/windo...act-framework-3-5-without-upgrading-your-rom/
I've been trying to install the .NET framework for my Tilt, and it keeps spitting out "installation unsuccessful". It installs fine on my computer, then it goes to install it to my phone via ActiveSync (Windows Mobile Device Center actually because I use Vista). The installation screen on my Tilt pops up saying it's installing, but the bar doesn't move at all, and after a few seconds it just says it's unsuccessful without giving a reason!
I'm using the stock ATT Tilt rom, 6.1 version. I haven't done anything special to it, so I have no idea why it wouldn't work...
Can anyone spare some sage wisdom as to why this won't install? I'm trying to use wmVista and it needs 3.5 to work .
Note: I downloaded the .NET 3.5 right from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en
Have you tried copying the NET CF3.5.cab directly to your Kaiser & then installing. The cab can be found in the installation folder on your PC or on this site if you do a search.
I've always installed from the cab file never from the PC installation so might be worth you trying it !
You might want to get the mobile version of .net 3.5...
http://frifor.com/download/IBI/NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.CAB
Download that to your memory card, then launch it with file explorer on your phone, and it should start to install all on its own. Install it to your device, not the media card, for quicker running .net 3.5, or if you want to save space install it to the media card, but it will run slower...
And FYI, the search function works very well, as well, if you had looked about 5 posts bellow this new one you created you would have seen a thread already dealing with this exact issue.

Ah, I saw that thread before posting but I assumed by his first post that his problem was different than mine. I just check it out again and saw the direct downloads for the cab file, so I'm gonna try that out. Thank you for your help!
(I'm a new poster, but I've been lurking around these boards for a while now looking for stuff for my Tilt)
Hopefully this works...
i installed .NET CF 3.5 on my device then after installing my camera is just plain black and doesnt show any picture.
problem solved!
- i installed Resco Registry Explorer and .NET compact framework 3.5 on my Kaiser
- opened resco registry and searched for the .NET CF
- disabled .NET CF 2.0 by changing value from 1 to 0
- then enable .NET CF 3.5 by changing value from 0 to 1
I had the same problem, used your link, it worked perfectly. THANKS!!!!

I recently updated my X1's firmware with the Sony Ericson Update Service. Since then I've been reinstalling everything. Only problem is, that for some reason I can no longer install Microsoft's .NET compact framework, which is required for some programs to run. Is anybody else having this problem, or know what to do about it?
Here:

I had the exactly the same problem after installing the RA3 rom update.
It always said that the .net framework cf installation unsuccessful when I tried to install using the .exe file downloaded from microsoft.
Alternatively, you can install the CAB file from your computer.
If you use windows, look in the folder:
program files>microsoft.net>SDK>compactframework>v3.5>windowsCE for the CAB file. I used this one, NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab, and it works. Now I can use a software that needs .net 3.5.
ps: if I'm not mistaken the .net CF 3.7 is a leaked version. Therefore, I prefer installing 3.5 to 3.7.

Thank you, that seems to be working.
.Net CF 4.0 is actually available with the MS Visual Studio 10.0 beta, but beware: the damned program erased all my contacts and calendar when I autosynced (and I had no backup because I hadn't autosynced in months AAARRRG!)
I have some problem to use v3.5, hence now try to get v3.7.
Thanks...
I current have a htc fuze running on The latest Energyrom leo 28011 build.

Exact message...
The application failed to load required components.
If the .NET Compact Framework is installed on a storage card, please ensure that this card is in place and launch the application again. If this fails, a re-installation on the .NET Compact framework is recommended, support info -214749552 (80001000)
I found this to be a problem in several 280xx builds too. Wouldn't let me update or anything.
