I have recently upgrading my rom for my MDA. Im using this on cingular service. I have downloaded the P_Conn_CWS_APR12_Wizard.cab and need some help getting the Edge connections to work. I have the Cingular GPRS setup already and it works great. Should i even worry about the edge connection?
Also i have downloaded cingular-ExtROM.zip but when i go to do the customization it does the same install from the ROM and not what the cingular rom install. How do i go about doing this?
Thanks for the help

I want to upgrade to latest ROM and whatnot.... Im confused what file to download. Important everything works faster and better and bluetooth headset. Its running stock Cingular from day that I bought it... right when it became for sale.... please let me know what to download and install... latest most stable ROM and everything else thats required.....
Thanks!!!
in my opinion...
The best ROM that I've installed on my MDA is the Mr. Clean 2.24a Mr. Clean
2.24.10.1 WWE
02.25.11 Radio version
Great GSM reception and recovery, it loads super fast, the functions are also smooth and fast, WiFi is perfect...lightning fast!!!!
You can find it in the forum of XDA upgrades and more stuff.
Here's the link:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/Roms/MrClean_RUU_WIZARD_224a_AKU23_WWE.zip
It's seriously awesome.
Remember that you need to CID unlock your phone first, and then it will work like a charm.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!
How different from the cingular same version one?
TIA
here are the differences
It doesn't have any of the Cingular logos, settings or anything that is pre-programmed. You have to put in your own settins, and there aren't any annoying settins such as MediaNet which launches when you try to connect via WiFi to the internet, and you know they charge you money for any kb transferred.
It's easy to create your own GPRS connections without any settings already there, and you have a cleaner running OS in the device.
I simply love it and recommend it. 8)

I'm in the same boat as HDD, I have the following specs
8125
ipl : 1.08
spl : 1.08
gsm : 01.16.11
os : 1.8.11.1
currently sim unlocked by lokiwiz0.3 and I about to CID-unlock with lokiwiz 0.2b. The question i have now is if I put in Mr. Clean 2.24a will I be able to go back to a Cingular ROM? or If i put in say Cingular's latest rom, or Tmobile's 2.26 will I be able to go back factory state.
From my searches, anything >= 2.21 roms will not be able to CID unlocked, so still wondering if I should upgrade....
yes you can
You will be able to; as long as the CID is unlocked.
Thanks to the wise Dr Puttingham, I was able to unlock the CID on my device. I have the Cingular 8125 and am using it with T-Mobile. I don't need a data plan as I am usually around a Wi-Fi signal. I mainly use the phone for SMS and calls, and some of the other perks (i.e. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Games,). I was wondering what would be a good ROM that I could install, that boots up quick? I currently have the CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE ROM installed, but the key mapping on the keyboard isnt accurate with this rom for my device. Could you guys recommend a fast and stable ROM for the 8125? Thanks in advance!
PapaPrem, the 1.05 downgrade was only to be able to unlock your device! There are quite a number of fine ROM's here that you're now able to enjoy. As for you being on the T-Mobile network I'd suggest perhaps xelencin's most excellent ROM T-Mobile USA 2.26 Custom ROM (Wizard/MDA)
If you decide to go for a cleaner ROM and then configure your own GPRS, that's always an option!
You're free !
Hi all. I have an interesting problem. Whenever I apply any custom rom to my phone,it does not have wifi anymore. I have had to go back to the CWS 2.25 ship rom to get it back. I have tried the Molski, Faria, and Shogun roms and all have had the same the same issues. They all see my router, but none will connect to it.
Any ideas as to why I have this issue would be appreciated.
I have had to go back to the CWS 2.25 ship rom again, but really want to try to use a Molski rom again. PS. I was able to use anything I wanted until I applied the latest Faria rom. Since then I can only use the ship roms and still have my wifi.
Thanks all........Later
BTW, my signature tag says that I am still on the Faria rom, but that's no longer accurate.
Not sure what the issue is...I've used all those ROMS with no WiFi issues.
Just make sure you have removed the Proxy server settings or are using an alternate network connection under Settings-connections-advanced-select networks, and you have told you network card that it connects to the internet

Been there, done that.....I have found that the ONLY rom that has wifi for me is the Cingular 2.25. I went back and tried all versions...flashed for hours I might add....and the only one with wifi for me is the 2.25 ship rom. I can customize it myself and still have wifi, but only on that rom. This only happenned after I tried the Faria 3.0 rom,all was fine before that.
Later
UPDATE: I can also use the CWS 2.26 with the 2.47 radio rom and still have Wifi.
no wifi
I have no wifi at all i am using the
DOPOD ASIA WWE OP ID 2.21.13 2.21 2.19.11 Download Thread

Are you saying that you upgraded to the offical TMobile ROM? If this is the case then I think that you will need to input the GPRS settings manually.
Kirby
i did, but it can not connect to the access point.
If you are in Egypt as your profile suggests why don't you upgrade to the latest ROM that your carrier provides.
Carriers in egypt do not provide any roms, so i have to use only the roms come with the device from imate, but also i need to try the ad2p support and other features with the 2.26 rom.
Finally it works today without anyproblems, it was an isp problem yesterday.
Hi Guys,
I've just flashed my Wizard (well two of them actually, one as a test device as it never worked as a phone right from the kick off) with the Faria Rom using the ShellTool method.
The final step was to install radio 2.611. Everything seems to work fine apart from the GPRS connection. WM6 can't seem to detect the modem. Any ideas/fixes would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Deckard

Took this off of XDA Mobile 6 Release 2a thread. This .cab by mfrazzz has all that you need for a Cingular/AT&T GPRS connection. Just download here, move to your Wizard, and install from it. You'll have settings in no time.
That is, if your Wizard is from Cingular/AT&T or you are contracted with their service (i.e. not T-Mobile)
