Hi,
Does anyone know how I can upgrade to 2.25 if ActiveSync is not working.
Long story but I get a "USB Device Not Recognized" when I plug my device in and I've tried all-sorts to get it working again.
I'm resigned to having to flash the ROM from SD (Cingular 8100), does anyone have instructions and the requisite binaries to do that ?
HELP !!!!!!
try and install the new active sync 4.2beta and then reboot then try and put your device in. But do not put your device in until after you've instlaled and rebooted.

Tried that, every time I plug my device in the PC it report "USB device not recognized". Tried multiple PC's and multiple cables
Happy new year everyone!
I have a big problem with my kaiser, maybe is 2011 a bad year for me ..
Well, I flashed for the third time the modded kernel of DnbTommy (including a RADIO, SPL, etc..).
Just after the flash, my Kaiser won't boot!
Just a black screen, and green LED. (can't hard reset, flash, or anything ..)
I made searchs on XDA and more, and I heard about MTTY solution..
But when I plug in my Kaiser in the USB cradle, it recognizes an unknown "Data Interface".
And MTTY does not recognize the USB port.. I tried on a Windows 7 (x64) computer, and a Windows XP (x32) laptop, with the same results.
Thanks for your help!
Try removing the battery for roughly 30 seconds then re-install
I already did it, even changing battery, but no results
Go in flash mode (camera button and reset) and flash another nbh.
Hi L1q1d,
Unfortunately, I can't go in flash mode, bootloader mode, or anything..
My screen stays black, and I can't flash!
Is the battery charged?
Of course it is !
I really need help please, elsewhere, my Kaiser will be lost..
Thanks in advance!
Have a search for the Diagnostic drivers you might be able to connect with mtty with them?
If you mean the drivers folder named
"x64 AS Drivers Win 7 Tested & Working" ,
including 2 files : wceusbsh.sys and wceusbshx64.inf
then, it does not..
No i mean the motoQ diag drivers these work with win 7 not sure about x64 ?

Okay I will try it, then! Thanks!
Do I have to install them when it asks for "Data Interface" driver?
Yes just unzip them first.
Well, I tried on a Windows XP 32 Bits laptop.
I plugged in my Kaiser with USB cable, installed MotoQ Drivers when it asked for "Data Interface" drivers,
But when I run mtty.exe, it shows me 3 more "COM" ports.. But no USB!
If I plug out my Kaiser, 3 ports less appears, then..
What could I do now?
Thanks!
I haven't a kaiser but id suggest looking through the frankenkaiser threads, you can connect mtty via a com port check device manager to see what port to connect with.In device manager look through the serial ports.
Try setboot 0 then cego via mtty.

When I connect the Kaiser, 3 ports appears in device manager / in MTTY :
- COM3 (cant find its name in device manager)
- COM4 : "Qualcomm Diagnostics Interface 6000"
- COM5 : "Qualcomm NMEA Device"
If I connect to COM3 or COM5, MTTY seems to be blocked..
But if I select COM4, MTTY doesn't crash, but i'm unable to type a command, because it says "Invalid command" to everything I write..
Really, thanks for ur help!!
Yes com4 is the one you need to connect mtty with but id read through the frankenkaiser and related threads, you may find more help there. Good luck
I found here the thread named "Frankenkaiser SPL Loader" :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394584
I tried the step 4, but nothing happends.
I cannot connect to MTTY with the Kaiser, that's the real problem..
Maybe there's another way than MTTY?
Over two years of flashing, it's the first problem that I get with the Kaiser..
Thanks! I really hope to find a solution to make my kaiser alive..
One thing to check is disable Allow usb connections in windows mobile device centre.
Another thing is try different versions of mtty i use mtty_0513_Test or you can try putty does the same thing as mtty.
I'm sure you'll get your kaiser back to life again.
I had stopped rapimgr.exe, but after you told me, I unchecked the "usb connection" box in ActiveSync..
Tried with MTTY 1.42, 0.01, 0513_Test, but nothing happends..
Same with PuTTY...
I think it's a communication problem!?
I would donate you, if you find the solution..
hi all im callum I have been trying too flash my phone back to stock rom as it keeps aborting the software im putting on it and when I connect it too odin nothing happens I have tried different cables even the original and also different usb ports is it a software issue with windows 8 or something im doing wrong??
thanks callum
Windows isn't the problem
Hello Callum
I am personally using Odin on Windows 8 Pro x32 without any problems. Remember that your phone will not show up in Odin unless you put it in download mode, i.e. by turning it on with the key combination volume down+power+home.
Otherwise this sounds like a driver issue. Perhaps reinstalling the phone's driver will solve your problem.
Also it work with Win 8 x64.
I suggest to reinstall the usb driver and make sure kies is not running!
I've had the same problem, even reinstalling KIES didn't work. You simply have to install "standalone" usb drivers for GT-i9000 (google it, I'm not allowed to paste external links yet). Worked for me.
thanks worked a treat

follow FAQ2 here, if its for your operating system or not: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52135024&postcount=2
NOTE: your phone must be plugged into the computer and showing as "One" or "Unknown Device" in device manager at the time.
You may also have to do as I had to recently when I upgraded to a newer version of Windows 10 beta, after selecting Android devices from the available options, it still didn't see the driver, I then had to select "have disk" option and browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\(YOUR OS) and select the correct driver file.
Still need help the post above still didnt work
Hello everyone. Currently my S21 Ultra receiving an error "USB Device not recognised". I tried fixing via "Developer options" but still not recognised. Updated the drivers, still not recognised. Hard reset but still not recognised. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as i am unable to Flash due to device not being recognised.
1. You can flash via net odin
2. Does dex work?
This been reported several times, no solution.......
USB problem - PC doesn't see/connect to my mobile.
I've got this problem since last year. I have read about the issue on the internet, no solution provided so far. When I connect my mobile to any PC, it says 'check your charger connection' as on the screen below. - I can only transfer files...

likely driver issue
Open control panel on PC → Device manager → universal serial bus controller
you will see multiple component under this. Rt click on each and select to update driver. If driver gets updated then reboot PC and see.
Thanks. I did all driver updatea. Reinstall etc..still no luck
I've always held "not recognized" as a failure to get the device descriptor.
This is a basic failure of USB as this is the first transaction.
Tyr different cables, different ports. It can be power supply/cables/interference or that the USB on your device was never configured.
A USB hardware protocol analyzer would tell. Just kidding. But not really, it would help.
I made a device that doesn't respond to device descriptor requests...
Thanks for your feedback. Can we discuss more the device to which you refer

No, that was just to demonstrate that what you're looking at is a complete failure of your device to identify itself.
Try to get your device recognized as something. Try all the combinations of reseting while holding volume keys.
If something works, then we can rule out hardware problems.
Try turning on/off/on Usb Debugging.
