Happy new year everyone!
I have a big problem with my kaiser, maybe is 2011 a bad year for me ..
Well, I flashed for the third time the modded kernel of DnbTommy (including a RADIO, SPL, etc..).
Just after the flash, my Kaiser won't boot!
Just a black screen, and green LED. (can't hard reset, flash, or anything ..)
I made searchs on XDA and more, and I heard about MTTY solution..
But when I plug in my Kaiser in the USB cradle, it recognizes an unknown "Data Interface".
And MTTY does not recognize the USB port.. I tried on a Windows 7 (x64) computer, and a Windows XP (x32) laptop, with the same results.
Thanks for your help!
Try removing the battery for roughly 30 seconds then re-install
I already did it, even changing battery, but no results
Go in flash mode (camera button and reset) and flash another nbh.
Hi L1q1d,
Unfortunately, I can't go in flash mode, bootloader mode, or anything..
My screen stays black, and I can't flash!
Is the battery charged?
Of course it is !
I really need help please, elsewhere, my Kaiser will be lost..
Thanks in advance!
Have a search for the Diagnostic drivers you might be able to connect with mtty with them?
If you mean the drivers folder named
"x64 AS Drivers Win 7 Tested & Working" ,
including 2 files : wceusbsh.sys and wceusbshx64.inf
then, it does not..
No i mean the motoQ diag drivers these work with win 7 not sure about x64 ?

Okay I will try it, then! Thanks!
Do I have to install them when it asks for "Data Interface" driver?
Yes just unzip them first.
Well, I tried on a Windows XP 32 Bits laptop.
I plugged in my Kaiser with USB cable, installed MotoQ Drivers when it asked for "Data Interface" drivers,
But when I run mtty.exe, it shows me 3 more "COM" ports.. But no USB!
If I plug out my Kaiser, 3 ports less appears, then..
What could I do now?
Thanks!
I haven't a kaiser but id suggest looking through the frankenkaiser threads, you can connect mtty via a com port check device manager to see what port to connect with.In device manager look through the serial ports.
Try setboot 0 then cego via mtty.

When I connect the Kaiser, 3 ports appears in device manager / in MTTY :
- COM3 (cant find its name in device manager)
- COM4 : "Qualcomm Diagnostics Interface 6000"
- COM5 : "Qualcomm NMEA Device"
If I connect to COM3 or COM5, MTTY seems to be blocked..
But if I select COM4, MTTY doesn't crash, but i'm unable to type a command, because it says "Invalid command" to everything I write..
Really, thanks for ur help!!
Yes com4 is the one you need to connect mtty with but id read through the frankenkaiser and related threads, you may find more help there. Good luck
I found here the thread named "Frankenkaiser SPL Loader" :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394584
I tried the step 4, but nothing happends.
I cannot connect to MTTY with the Kaiser, that's the real problem..
Maybe there's another way than MTTY?
Over two years of flashing, it's the first problem that I get with the Kaiser..
Thanks! I really hope to find a solution to make my kaiser alive..
One thing to check is disable Allow usb connections in windows mobile device centre.
Another thing is try different versions of mtty i use mtty_0513_Test or you can try putty does the same thing as mtty.
I'm sure you'll get your kaiser back to life again.
I had stopped rapimgr.exe, but after you told me, I unchecked the "usb connection" box in ActiveSync..
Tried with MTTY 1.42, 0.01, 0513_Test, but nothing happends..
Same with PuTTY...
I think it's a communication problem!?
I would donate you, if you find the solution..

I upgraded TMobile MDA, but there's a problem. The mobile can't boot since then! But it can enter serial mode(boot loader), and I can only see these words from from LCD:
Serial
V2.07
I found many upgrade software and many ROMs for blue angel, using MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe or MaUpgradeUt.exe. But it seems that the programs can't find the mobile!
How can I do now? Is there a hardware problem? Maybe I don't find the suitable program, maybe I should find a new program because there's no OS but only a bootloader in it. If someone knows how to deal with this mobile, please tell me. Thank you very much!
Didn't work. Still hanging in boot loader mode.
I have the same problem with my HTC Blue Angel (PH20b)... Locked in Boot Loader mode following a failed ROM upgrade attempt. I tried adding the line to the ruu.conf file as suggested, but I still get the same error just after starting an upgrade attempt...
"Error 120: Country ID Error no-no-no-12-12-12"
Same as it has been for the past month or so. Anyone have any other ideas? I've tried to install just about every rom available... All with the same result every time.
Thanks,
-Mark

Sounds like a PC Driver problem. When using a USB cable, the bootloader screen will switch to say USB and the PC will display that a USB device was attached. Is this occurring? if not, try another USB port.
Quick Q
MDA is Blueangel and not wizard?

nope, when entering in the bootloader mode, it usually indicates "serial" but when you would attach the usb cable it would change to "USB" mode without installing anything just the cable itself.
Oh, 3x! When I plug in USB cable, the text on LCD is still Serial. Maybe there's some problem with the cable.

The bootloader screen will not change until the USB cable is plugged into the PC and the Phone. You should get a Microsoft USB device showup on the PC under Windows CE USB Sync in device manager (Win XP).
Can anyone tell me what was the solution to get the IIs into a USB mode?
Im having a same problem. Its keep saying serial and even after i plug it into the USB port it does not change to USB.
Any ideas?
thanks
This problem is solved
I changed a USB cable, then I can found "USB" showing in the screen! Everything is OK now.
The only problem is that the first USB cable doesn't work. A good new USB cable can solve this problem!
Thank you very much, rschell.

I used it a couple of times before on my Trinity - I am just doing research and a bit of self tuition
I am in Bootloader and no COM ports will connect to mtty.
Noobie I know but a little help would be great on getting the thing to connect - and yes have searched far and wide but to no avail.
Cheers
On Win XP:
- Activesync USB connection should be disabled (grey icon)
- Obviously, device must be in tri-colored bootloader mode (keep pressed volume down button + softreset with stylus)
- Should work with any mtty version.
On Vista (I haven't tried this myself, i don't have vista):
- Windows Mobile Device Center USB connections should be disabled
- Device must be in tri-colored bootloader mode (see above)
- If you have not installed the older XP usb drivers, you need the vista version of mtty
On Linux:
I yet don't know why the /dev/ttyUSB* device is not created for HTC Diamond, if anyone knows how to connect to Diamond's bootloader on linux let me know!
Thanks - had a version of MTTY with no USB option duh... Now lets start gathering some commands -
I just tried to use mtty but after I press enter, the application hang and then I've got the message Write Operation Failed.
Is there any settings that must be done in mtty ?
I use the vista version.
someone have an idea ?

same problem,need help plz
Hey All.
I am on vacation, and just brougth a new notebook (lovely Medion Akoya), and i want to sync with my diamond. However, i downloaded the active sync from the ms homepage, and i get the "Unrecognized device" error all the time.
Yes, i tried to use different cables, yes i tried to deactivate the advanced network, however, i doesnt seem to recognize it at all.
Even if i do a softreset + volume down, i just get the SPL1-40 screen, but eventhou my phone is plugged in the USB, it doesnt say that, only "serial" when i disconnect.
I've been searching this forum the entire day, and i cant seem to find a solution. So, i kindly ask the gurus help me
Diamond running 0.95 bePe and pc running xp sp3.
Kind regards, Heien.
Try to flash a stock ROM and check if you run into the same problem.
In order to sync, you must be running the handset normally, don't enter bootloader mode.
Did the system prompt you for drivers the first time you connected it to the PC? Activesync 4.5 provides the rndis drivers.
the problem is, i cant even flash my device, i tried to flash it, but i get a connection error with the tool.
I know about the bootloadermode, and that i am not able to sync in that state, but i just wanted my pc/diamond to recognize the connection between them. The system did not prompt me for drivers, it just went straigth to unrecognized device. i even tried to point the the driverupdate tool to the drivers folder with the rndis drivers in the as folder.
-i also tried to hardreset my device.
Try doing the same on a fresh stock XP install, without firewall or anything similar.
We need to figure out if it's a problem with the handset itself or your OS/PC.
Try another USB port (DON'T use hubs).
Enter bootloader mode. When you connect it to the USB, it should at least toggle from serial to usb.
If that's the case, at least your USb is working well.
Hi guys, i have probably killed my beloved kaiser.
This is what i did:
- Flashed latest Hyperdragon III Rom - all worked fine here
- Sometime later i figured out that the phone was not able to connect to my PC anymore (tried different computer and cable, no change: unknown usb device)
- I then entered boot loader and tried to flash an older rom (Garmin DK 3) but it stopped at 16% and i had to enter boot loader again.
The result:
Now no pc is detecting the tytn 2 correctly (unkown usb device) on boot loader screen. I guess that the usb port on the phone is somehow damaged. Any suggestions ?

I just want to say that your phone not connecting was a simple thing.
Moved to apropos section.

Did you try deleting your sync settings?
Delete device from sync list.
unplug/replug usb. setup device again.
Or I have also had to un & re install Active-sync.
Hope this helps
nonono .. its not that active sync is not working anymore, its that windows detects the device either as unknown device (on bootloader screen!) or does not detect it at all. I even cant select USB in mtty.exe - active sync disabled. Iam pretty much sure its an usb port issue since my tytn2 have had always problem with usb cons (did not recharge and stuff). Before that issue my pc had detected the tytn2 in bootloader screen.

Oh well, it worth a shot.

I have a problem with the diamond and needs to change ROM/SPL and other stuff, but it won't recognize that the phone has been plugged in. I have tried 5 different USB cables and 3 different computers. I don't have HTC warranty. I've done 5+ hard-resets.
Please help.
First, what OSes? For instance: win 7 doesn't recognize the phone if it tries to connect in active sync mode.
I've always used windows xp, in the past it worked.
hi,
try to connect your htc twice : my computer does not recognize my htc at first plug but when I retry in less than 1 minute, my htc displays popup menu and I can choose USB/active sync, I click done and then my computer recognizes it. I don't know if it will work with your device but you can try that ^^
Thanks for the suggestion,
I've already tried that a lot of times, nothing doing.
ok, did you try to change the status of your usb connexion ?
I mean : settings>connections>usbtoPC> then try these 4 combinations together :
- enable faster data synchronization (try both modes on/off)
- ask me about usb connection type (try both modes on/off)
I can get into bootloader, but never know that you could flash ROM in there. Is there a guide?
Also, I have a problem with a flickering screen that some threads here suggest changing SPL version to fix. Is it possible to change SPL using bootloader?
I just downoaded WM6.5 to my phone and did a ROM flash from internal storage, but USB still has problem & flickering screen still there. I need to be able to change the HardSPL w/o connection to the computer.
Is it possible to load some of the .exe in the HardSPL package and run it on the phone?
Someone help,
Thanks
Perhaps it's simply due to your PC firewall ?? Deactivate it and try to plug your htc again...
the problem is that my the computer doesn't connect with the phone via the USB cable.
just try to disable your PC firewall before connecting your device.
sorry I cannot find CustomRUU.exe on this forum, i did find DiamondCustomRUU.exe on the wiki. However, the interface for it is the same as the RomUpdateUtility.exe, which requires activesync connection.
I did proceed anyways by entering bootloader(Voldown + softreset) and run the utility -> nothing works. Then I try the USB trigger mode (Voldown + back + softreset) and run the utility -> nothing works.
I am tempted to put the HardSPL in the internal storage and rename it DIAMING.NBH and flash it but I do not know the consequences.
Thank you for your replies,
I'd appreciate more help
