SOLUTION FOUND -CID/sim UNLOCKING FOR WIZARD WITH AKU2 ROMS.

warnning; does not work with g4 wizards!!!!!
this steps are to cid unlock and also to unlock sim in the folowing devices; qtek 9100, i-mate k-jam, mda vario, orange spv m3000, o2 xda mini s, dopod 838, Cingular 8125
first; you must make a full backup of you wizard before doing this , I personally use [wizBackup.exe] posted below for my backups and restores. This is not mandatory but could save an enormous amount of trouble.
I as most people with a wizard with the aku2 rom found out that it cannot be cid unlock with lokiwiz tool, you will get the following;{error:itwritedisk-an internal error occurred}.
. that is till now.

note- this steps is for unlocking the cid of the wizard with aku2 rom.
how to cid. unlock all wizard variants ( that have the latest rom build )
first download custom__ruu_wizard_1050412_wwe_101_11210_wwe. rom from the ftp site from the above link, unpack it and just click the romupdateutility_wizard_noid.exe to start downgrading. Simply follow the prompts.
after the rom are loaded go thru the initial setup as you would with any rom.
now download the (lokiwiz02b) from here;

Make sure you unzip lokiwiz to the root o the c: drive.
please copy the whole lokiwiz folder to the root of the drive,not the contentents of the folder!!!!!
and follow the instructions .do not forget to copy the cab file(enable rapi) to your device and run it before running lokiwiz.
Now run lockiwiz and unlock your machine, your machine will reboot itself. if yoy see an eroot while unlocking that says;

ERROR: ITWriteDisk - An internal error occurred.
this means that you device not been unloked......try again............

That’s it your wizard is unlocked. Make sure yew keep the [lock_backup.bin] in a safe place you may need it for guaranty purposes.
Now flash the latest aku2 rom from your provider.- [very important,to avoid future problems wit rom updates]
then u can flash any rom you want.
question: if i cid unlock and sim unlock my phone (after installing custom 1.5 wwe rom) and then i install latest aku2 i-mate italian rom, will the sim unlock (and cid one too) be preserved?
Answer: i can confirm that that upgrading to the latest aku2 rom the wizard remains cid unlocked.
Special thanks to the author of the above cooked rom [button] also to machinagod for the lokiwiz tool and joninla for finding the downgrade rom, molski for is input and everyone that contributed to the cause.
do not try to downgrade using an older wizard rom other than the one posted above it will not work
also this {how to} is for the htc wizard only it may work with other devices but i don’t know, so if you turn you device into a brick do not blame me. use it at your own risk
if you device is from a operator like: 02, orange etc... You will void your guaranty unlocking cid, but don’t despair, if you keep the [lock_backup.bin] file that the lockiz tool generated you can restore cid to factory default.
this proccess only needs to be done once in the wizards lifetime.

it may be possible,if you have an old custom rom for your device ,found this;
On the one hand, HTC Prophet is a complete copy (both software and hardware are meant) of HTC Wizard. On the other hand, it's equal to HTC Magician in appearance. I guess we just have to wait for an updated version of Lockiwiz

You mean to use the wizard rom on the prophet?
Won't that overwrite the bootloader with the one for the wizard???

haaa you have the prophet
dont do that it may turn the prophet into a brick the only way is to find an old custom rom for your device. take a look at the ftp site it may have one there.

i just use the lokiwiz 2b to unlock the CID, after it, even i upgrade to the newest rom e.g. the new O2 rom, my CID still remain unlock?

I just spent about 28 hours reading the threads in order to change my GERMAN O2 XDA MINI S (Wizard) ROM. Into an english one.
For that matter I know I need to unlock my CID, but since i have the latest ROM installed, IPL 2.21.001 and SPL 2.21.001 Lockwiz won't work !!!!
so I tried to Downgrade my Rom in order to make the Lockwiz work, but I am not able to find a suiting German Rom anywhere on the Net.
So I was wondering if nebody would be kind enough to tell me where to find and older German ROM or how I can avoid DOWNGRADING and simply unlock my CID

Since you have a G4 boot chip (the tailing .001 in IPL and SPL tells that) you CANNOT downgrade your ROM to 1.x version.
DO NOT TRY INSTALLING A 1.X ROM: YOU'LL BRICK YOUR PPC!!! DO NOT FOLLOW FARIA's PROCEDURE TO CID UNLOCK 2.X PHONES: IT WON'T WORK IN YOUR CASE ('cos you've got a G4 boot chip).
This means that you will NOT be able to CID/SIM unlock your phone with lokiwiz 0.2b (however you can still use lokiwiz 0.3a to SIM unlock it, but no CID unlock).
But don't despair, you CAN still change your phone language and install whatever 2.x rom you like. The procedure to follow, however, is a bit different: you cannot simply download a rom you like and install it, you'll need to hack it a little first, but the results will be the same!
Basically, all you have to do is get the ROM you like (only 2.xx ROM!!!) and remove from it the IPL/SPL part. Then, you have to flash this 'hacked' rom using a slightly modified ROM Upgrade Utility (i can provide it to you if you want). With this method you're not going to replace the IPL/SPL (bootloader) of your phone so you don't need to CID unlock it (which, at the time i'm writing, is impossible).
To remove IPL/SPL from your ROM you have to extract the file nk.nbf from the ROM and get its content with typho5 tool (search this forum to have more info). Then you have to reassemble a new nk.nbf using nb2nbf. The new nk.nbf, of course, must NOT contain the IPL/SPL parts.

I am trying upgrade my O2 German Wizrad G4 version into WWE, I followed your instruction & has used nb2nbf to compile a 2.xx rom without IPL & SPL. When I used the update utility to falsh the Wizard, the utility said something like: Error, this update utility is not for your device. etc.
I think I need to used your modified update utility , can you send it to me?
Also my other question is, when I use nb2nbf , what should I put in the model id for my German Wizard?
You advice can help me & many others to solve our headache in upgrading a G4 Rom! Cheers!

The modified RUU (ROM Update Utility) is attached.
For ModelID you can use both WIZARD or Prodigy (i used the former).

@Bola: you have a 1.x ROM so you can CID unlock your phone with Lokiwiz0.2b (NOT 0.3a). Then you'll be able to install whichever ROM you like.

Question about faria & Molski ROMs

using typho5 we can see that latest Molski ROM still contain IPL/ SPL but Faria's ROM 3.0 dose not ! just OS, GSM, Splash and Extension
as far as i know the rom that not contain IPL & SPL can be installed in both G4 and G3 wisard ! can also be installed in CID Unlocked wizard
another thing i would understand !! changing the boot (spl/ipl) is dangerouse !so if we use any rom without IPL/SPL it would be better and safe !
so why we need to cid unlock the wizard ? and why change the boot ?

Well... the CID really hasn't anything to do with the ROM... CID, also known as vendor lock, is something that the manufacturer put in in order to prevent users from installing roms that aren't released by the manufaturers themselfs.
Second, older wizards come with an older bootloader and, naturally, there has been some improvements in the newer versions. Therefor one usually, when one has an older bootloader, have to install a rom provided by a vendor in order to upgrade it. And thereafter install a customized rom released by someone here on the board, assuming that you have CID unlocked your phone before of course

I thought so too. It certainly won't work on mine since it is an HTC and not a Dopod. I wonder if we could use the same novenderID installer used with the Prophet and just install extracted the files? I suppose the trinity could need a new version. What do you think?

It's not possible to do a _noID utility for Trinity AFAIK. CID is checked by bootloader, and rom upgrades use NBH format.

This news is very depressing. That means that people with an HTC device will never be able to use Dopod ROMs or cook up new ROMS, for instance the GPS enabled? That's no fun. Maybe we just have to get the Trinity unlocked?

Use TyTn utils for unlock CID very dangerously!
because, for CID unlock it is necessary downgrade SPL to 1.04 (by default bootloader 1.06)

I didn't mean to use Hermes CID unlocker on trinity, that would definitely brick the device because it flashes a wrong radio.
You guys need to work together to develop a method to CID unlock the trinity, but this will take some time, first you have to gather info about the device and post it in the wiki... bootloader part is most important.

No, unlocking CID in G4 only brings you the possibility to use flash through RUU while nk.nbf does NOT contain IPL and SPL files (or IPL and SPL for G4).
Flashing with G3 RUU is certainly still going to brick.

I wasn't aware that IPL's and SPL's were different for G3's and G4's although I could be wrong there. If you have an IPL/SPL of 2.2x or above I don't believe there's much of an advantage to upgrading any higher at this point in time. The most you may gain is maybe your phone booting a couple of seconds faster. You're probably better off sticking with what you have already, especially with a G4.

Okay thanks. Is IPL/SPL 3.08 for G3 or G4? Thats what i'd like to try. When you say Flashing a G3 IPL/SPL, do you mean the 1.x versions?

No, don't even try that, it's obviously for G3 only.
xeno1 is correct, by upgrading IPL from 2.2x to 3.08 only gains a few seconds boot time faster, nothing else.
fordracerguy you better don't think of upgrading IPL, it is not really needed to.

Unless i understood it wrong that information isn't correct! CID unlocked devices can flash complete/full nk.nbf files (as long as they have the respective Gx bootloaders)

A lot of people are having trouble with downgrading from SPL 3.08 which appears to be protected against it.

Yes, you are right, but how many RUU here have IPL and SPL for G4? I don't think there are any except official ROM for G4

I think that situation mostly appear to people that didn't unlock their Wizard before upgrading. Unlocked Wizard should downgrade without any difficulties.

You're right too. I can remember only one, the 2.26 ROM from Molski

hmmm. Unless the IPL/SPL 3.08 is a NoID how to flash it without unlocking?

IPL and SPL can be easily upgraded with a RUU that is NoID (Note: NoID is controlled by RUU, not nbf)
So the RUU exists here is mostly NoID, and flashing a Complete ROM with IPL, SPL and OS to a locked G3 will upgrade IPL and SPL, but not OS (Instead OS version in boot changes, but actually it is not, or even just hangs in boot screen)

Don't think so. I had no problem downgrading. I flashed MFrazz's rom, it got stuck and Shelltools crashed, got the bootloader screen and flashed the original Cingular rom and I was back to 2.25. Then just reflashed MFrazz's rom with the RUU and then reflashed IPL/SPL 3.08
