SOLUTION FOUND -CID/sim UNLOCKING FOR WIZARD WITH AKU2 ROMS.

warnning; does not work with g4 wizards!!!!!
this steps are to cid unlock and also to unlock sim in the folowing devices; qtek 9100, i-mate k-jam, mda vario, orange spv m3000, o2 xda mini s, dopod 838, Cingular 8125
first; you must make a full backup of you wizard before doing this , I personally use [wizBackup.exe] posted below for my backups and restores. This is not mandatory but could save an enormous amount of trouble.
I as most people with a wizard with the aku2 rom found out that it cannot be cid unlock with lokiwiz tool, you will get the following;{error:itwritedisk-an internal error occurred}.
. that is till now.

note- this steps is for unlocking the cid of the wizard with aku2 rom.
how to cid. unlock all wizard variants ( that have the latest rom build )
first download custom__ruu_wizard_1050412_wwe_101_11210_wwe. rom from the ftp site from the above link, unpack it and just click the romupdateutility_wizard_noid.exe to start downgrading. Simply follow the prompts.
after the rom are loaded go thru the initial setup as you would with any rom.
now download the (lokiwiz02b) from here;

Make sure you unzip lokiwiz to the root o the c: drive.
please copy the whole lokiwiz folder to the root of the drive,not the contentents of the folder!!!!!
and follow the instructions .do not forget to copy the cab file(enable rapi) to your device and run it before running lokiwiz.
Now run lockiwiz and unlock your machine, your machine will reboot itself. if yoy see an eroot while unlocking that says;

CopyFileToTFFS(cidunlocked.bin:0, 0, 00010000)
ERROR: ITWriteDisk - An internal error occurred.
this means that you device not been unloked......try again............

That’s it your wizard is unlocked. Make sure yew keep the [lock_backup.bin] in a safe place you may need it for guaranty purposes.
Now flash the latest aku2 rom from your provider.- [very important,to avoid future problems wit rom updates]
then u can flash any rom you want.
question: if i cid unlock and sim unlock my phone (after installing custom 1.5 wwe rom) and then i install latest aku2 i-mate italian rom, will the sim unlock (and cid one too) be preserved?
Answer: i can confirm that that upgrading to the latest aku2 rom the wizard remains cid unlocked.
Special thanks to the author of the above cooked rom [button] also to machinagod for the lokiwiz tool and joninla for finding the downgrade rom, molski for is input and everyone that contributed to the cause.
do not try to downgrade using an older wizard rom other than the one posted above it will not work
also this {how to} is for the htc wizard only it may work with other devices but i don’t know, so if you turn you device into a brick do not blame me. use it at your own risk
if you device is from a operator like: 02, orange etc... You will void your guaranty unlocking cid, but don’t despair, if you keep the [lock_backup.bin] file that the lockiz tool generated you can restore cid to factory default.
this proccess only needs to be done once in the wizards lifetime.

maybe if you find an older rom for you device i only have a wizard.take a look at the lokiwiz tread i belive tha someone mentioned the HTC Prophets.

it may be possible,if you have an old custom rom for your device ,found this;
On the one hand, HTC Prophet is a complete copy (both software and hardware are meant) of HTC Wizard. On the other hand, it's equal to HTC Magician in appearance. Sadly, cant move back to older rom... keep getting error message saying the nk.nbf file is not valid/older than your current file.
I guess we just have to wait for an updated version of Lockiwiz

nothing except i did not post the link to the rom by mistake,did you use an old i-mate rom to downgrade? do not it will not work, use the one in the above link.thats the only one that it will work that a know for sure.

You mean to use the wizard rom on the prophet?
Won't that overwrite the bootloader with the one for the wizard???

haaa you have the prophet
dont do that it may turn the prophet into a brick the only way is to find an old custom rom for your device. take a look at the ftp site it may have one there.

i just use the lokiwiz 2b to unlock the CID, after it, even i upgrade to the newest rom e.g. the new O2 rom, my CID still remain unlock?

Confused about ROM install

Just after I got my 8125 I upgraded the ROM to 2.25. I didn't unlock anything. Its running fine. Now I'm interested to try a different ROM. I understand I will need to CID unlock my device. Here is where I'm confused, if it is possible or not after upgrading to 2.25? Can I follow the steps to downgrade my ROM and unlock the CID?
I have searched and been reading alot but I'm still a bit confused, so please be gentle as I ask for some guidance. I have experience modifying Motorola phones, but am new to PocketPC. Any help is appreciated.

Good if you can provide info on how you upgraded your unit (e.g. with the providers official ROM or with the software and ROMS in this forum, etc)
And how you intended to down grade your ROM? You also mentioned the 'steps' to follow, of which steps are you refering to?
And, why do you want to have your phone CID unlocked? CID lock will not bug most people unless they are going for a ROM flashing. CID lock is different from `phone lock` or `SIM lock`.
Just incase you are wonder, what is CID, ... don't ask me. I have no idea at all Seriously.

I upgraded a stock 8125 (G3) to the Cingular 2.25 official ROM. I would like to install a summiter or mr. clean custom ROM. Searching through the messages here I'm unable to determine for certain if I'm able to CID unlock from 2.25 on my own (for free), but I get the impression I cannot. I just want to know for sure before attempting anything further.
I won't need step-by-step instruction...just need to know what my options are at this point.
Last nite I tried to install the summiter ROM without the bootloader. And the install went fine and completed 100% without error. But after the reboot I found the flash didn't hold, it was basically like a hard reset.

First download and install the Cingular 1.8 Rom
If that works fine then you should be able to CID unlock.
If not then try downloading and installing the "Button 1.05" Rom.
If either of these dowgrades worked for you, searck for LokiWiz (use ver 0.2 for CID unlock) and follwo the instructions.
Next if you want to SIM Unlock find LokWiz MSL 0.3 as it does a better SIM unlock than the older LokiWiz. Again follow the instructions.
Now you should be good..

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but its the downgrading I am concerned about. I'm not certain if it is possible to downgrade (including bootloader) from 2.25 without the device being CID unlocked..?

Having a G3 device you can downgrade.
You must downgrade to CID unlock unless you want to pay imei-check $40.00

if you know it has been discussed before why not search for the answer, either here or google it. i'm a newb as well i don't know everything so i can't help but the search feature is your friend. or you can be like some of the other newbs and just try it and possibly brick your phone your call

Answers: 1)Yes 2)you probably end up with a brick--and not the kind you can build with but the kind that breaks a window well when you throw it.

Thanks for the reply. ok, so I need to CID unlock. But I still wonder, why I did not need to CID unlock it when I flashed Mr. Clean rom.
And in Faria's CID unlock instructions, I have a doubt. Once I downgrade ROM to 1.x and unlock, do I flash Mr. Clean ROM first and then to Molski's ROM? or I can directly flash to Molski's after downgradin to 1.x ROM.

Simple answer is that Mr Clean's ROM does not contain the bootloader that is the IPL/SPL bit ok.

I think it does contain because it changes the IPL/SPL after upgrade and including start up screen

If you are CID locked you WILL NOT be able to flash any other ROM other than your vendor supplied ROMs UNLESS it does not contain the bootloader (IPL/SPL).

But just to be sure, just do another round of CID unlocking procedure to make sure it's really unlocked...
Dr. Puttingtam's instructions seems to work fine with anyone's who did it correctly.
Molski's ROM do contain IPL/SPL, but they are for G3 Wizards only...To be sure that you had the correct bootloaders, try flashing to the last T-Mobile US ROM (the 2.26 version), set Active Sync to guest mode and then flash Molski's ROM...

Small question...Aam i ready to upgrade my rom ?

i want to flash the Molski.Biz AKU3.3 Crossbow Style Edition Rom...i have a IPL/SPL both of 1.05....and the phone is unlocked....am i ready to flash this rom ?? if not what pther things must i do first....i have read through all the threads but the IPL/SPL part is confusing me

first is to determine wether your device is G3 or G4..
in your case.. you have a G4 device.. (i just sense it with my 3rd eye..lol)
because looking at your IPL/SPL version.. you have 1.05 meaning G3..
For me.. You are now ready to upgrade.. BUT! YOU"RE NOT READY to upgrade any radio rom that has version 2.xx, you can only have radio version that has 1.xx version..
becouse your bootloader is 1.xx
Upgrdae your IPL/SPL version to something 2.xx to be able to upgrade your radio rom to 2.xx
Do i make my statement clear?

regarding to your second question..
i myself dont have much knowledge about IPL/SPL..
but as far as i know..
newer IPL/SPL version are already included in some ROM.. like underground?.. (i think)
and.. for that to work.. you must first have your CID Unlocked..
(Correct me if im wrong experts.. but thats what i know..)

I don't want to confuse you, but SIM unlocked is not the same as CID unlocked. Please check one of the sticky posts for ways to CID unlock your phone!

ok thanks fior the info.....so is there any way to verify weather my device is CID unlocked ? what if i try to unlock an already unlocked device ? will that leave me with a very expensive brick ?

AFAIK there is no easy way to tell whether you have an CID unlocked phone. But the good thing is, you will NOT brick you device by unlocking an already unlocked phone. So just give it go!

Downgrade Bootloader - is this possible?

I wanna use mtty.exe and the rtask-command, but the bootloader is not old enough (not 1.04).
Is ist possible to downgrade the loader and if yes, where can I get an old one?

AFAIK there is no 1.04 bootloader for Trinity.

There is a 1.05 MFG SPL for Trinity with rtask.
Used to be available as a part of HTC test ROM in Trinity firmware downloads section in Trinity wiki.

There's no easy way to downgrade, though.
It's also not necessary... Use Des's SSPL to boot your device with SPL 1.05, not risking bricking it by flashing SPL.
