i have my voicemail notification turned off and it still notifys me? why?
i have the same problem with turning off the "new e-mail message" notification. It still pops up and turns the volume down while listening to music with my bluetooth headphone
here is the fix that worked for me
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1565104&postcount=8
Thanks! it works for me too.
This is awesome. It is one of those things that I have lived with for a long time and never took the time figure out how to disable it. Thanks!
will this reg edit work for voicemail too?
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was driving me nuts!
@surfnet: My thanks as well. For me it was the perpetual voicemail icon error. It might be just a little icon, but it sure was annoying as hell to me. Good riddance.
@Lavachild: Yes it will - the procedure is the same. Just go to the according registry key (same group and a few steps down) and set the value as stated in the thread.
This is great. Does anyone know which of the reg keys is mapped to disabling calendar notifications?

I got a warranty replacement Tilt last week. On my new device, I get no sounds or vibrations when entering numbers on the telephone dialer. My last Tilt used to make a sound as I entered numbers. I have Kaiser Tweak installed, but get nothing whether I set dialer button behavior to tones or vibrate. Any suggestions? I went to Sounds & Notifications and enabled sounds for Screen Taps and Hard Buttons, with still no change for the phone dialer.
did you try searching??
try these keywords:
- keypad vibrate
- keypad sound
and see if there is solution for your problem.
i guess there is, so i would suggest to use search in the future.

thanks, I had found the vibrate thread, but that wasn't what I was looking for. My search did not turn up the dialpad sound fix cab.
there is more than this one thread regarding vibrating dialpad. if this is not what you was looking for, than you could explain what you need in more details. link to sound fix was in keypad vibrate thread. please try searching. but for real this time. you can't expect to find solution with two clicks, you will need some time for serious customization of your phone.
I've flashed one of Dutty's new ROM's, and he has the voice-caller ID built into it. I've searched around for how to shut it off, but only found a thread on how to install it.
I tried blocking off voice command in the registry editor, that stops the voice but also silences the ringtone where the voice would be.
Basicly, All I want is just ringtone and no voice.
any help would be greatly appreciated!

WOW. I made that WAY harder than it really was! Thanks, I was just looking in the wrong spot.
Sorry for the noob post, problem solved! Please feel free to delete the thread.
thanks!
Alright, First off I searched using the search here and using google using keywords of '' wake up, tilt, kaiser, text, notification, etc. ''.
But I couldn't find a answer to my question so, here I start a new thread. If anyone has owned a Blackberry, (dont kill me now lol) but when you recieved a text. your device wouldn't wake up from sleep untill you woke it up. is there something similar i could do with the tilt? any thanks would be appreciated. I had already searched google, tried diff. options on the device i couldnt figure it out. So I'm hoping I dont get flamed.

bump 0 ha. hope no one gets mad.
Not sure about making it not wake up, but you can control the notifications to make it less intrusive. There's the built-in WM6 notification options, or if you want more control, the Kaiser Notifications program.
The thing is, I've tried threw the settings, nothing stopped the backlight from turning on when i get a text. I have Kaiser Notification for the LED's at the top, thats how it is on the blackberry. Your phones asleep but will still make a noise/vibrate and then a LED will alert you.
It's just annoying like in a movie where when you put your phone on vibrate and put it in the cupholder, the light still shines... not fun when your backlights all the way on. if you know what i mean
bump, but with a question.
or does anyone know a way so that when you recieve a text the backlight stays off instead of illuminating? any help would be apperciated.

Backlight
I use PhoneAlarm Pro to handle my notifications for SMS and Email and it's setting for no backlight on SMS works fine for me.
Yup can verify that PhoneALarm does this .....

This is a collection of registry tweaks to allow greater control over the notifications in WM, including the ability to prevent repeating sounds for reminders. What it does is enable the controls in "Sounds & Notifications" that are normally unavailable for several types of notification.
It's a further enhancement of Juggalo_x's enhanced notifications, which has never been updated or particularly well explained (at least not on this website!) ... I have also included the low battery tweak, as suggested by juiceppc in that thread.
Large credit goes to fredjones32 for this guide with an explanation of the registry values and how the repeat check box can be enabled.
These are the notifications included:
ActiveSync: Begin sync
ActiveSync: End sync
Beam: Autoreceive
Connection disconnected
Connection established
Low battery
Messaging: Downloading MMS
Messaging: MMS downloaded
Messaging: MMS sent
Messaging: New e-mail message
Messaging: New MMS
Messaging: New MMS report
Messaging: New text message
Messaging: Sending MMS
Phone: Missed call
Phone: Voice mail
QuickGPS
Reminders
Wireless network detected
NB: Installing this CAB will turn off all notifications for all of the above events. If you go into Sounds & Notifications you will be able to turn on the ones you want again. This happens because the 'repeat' checkbox cannot be enabled without changing the registry value that controls which notifications are set. It is difficult to preserve the previous values during a simple CAB installation - but if anyone knows of a way please let me know. Detailed settings, for example sound file names, are not lost.
thanks mate
Hi Dave!

Hi Dave! Thanks for your reply
I tested it yesterday...it's working great, except for one thing
I'd configured the notifications for text messages. I used the option repeat which was also available, so than I wont have to miss the alert about my messages...
But what happened, I heard every ten seconds my alert, I opened my message and It just went on and on and on....even though I already opened and read my text....that's quite strange/odd.....(hope you'll understand what I mean)
Did you had same behaviour on your device??
For the rest..I really really found it useful!
Many thanks again and I hope everybody is going to like it, just as I do!
Cheers
Jeroen
Hi Jeroen,
I don't use the repeat setting - I was mainly interested in being able to turn the repeat off for reminders! I use SPB Phone Suite on my phone, which allows you to configure sounds that repeat every few minutes until the original notification has been dismissed. The beauty of that system is that it is all configurable by profile, so when the phone switches itself into night mode the repeating sounds are turned off. It's not free but there must be some alternatives.
I've just had a play with the normal repeating sounds and you're right, they're particularly ****ing useless.
thanks I really needed that
Davey 101,
Thank you for compilations.
Davey,
Thanks for this application. I've used a couple of your applications/suggestions before (I can't remember which one - bluetooth perhaps) and they all work great. Thanks for your great contribution.
By the way, I have installed this and it works on WM6.5 too.

Thanks, that means a lot.
thank you for developing this. now i won't have to go climb a bell tower. those repetitive reminders were more than just annoying while i was on a call driving and couldn't shut it of.
thanks again.
Turn off led
Davey101 how to turn off led light notifications, because this .cab is only unblocking options
any-way of making this work when phone is turned to vibrate mode? works great when phone is in ring mode for me!
Hi All,
Can someone tell me how I can change my dialer from inputting "long tones" when dialing to "short tones"?
Example... When I call my bank to check my acct. balance and enter my ATM card number, it always gets read wrong because of the length of the dialer / number tone and I am never able to get it right.
My Samsung Omnia was like this as well but it had an option for either "long button press tone" or "short button press tone" and I cannot seem to find this option on my SGS.
Can anyone advise on this? Does anyone know what Im talking about?
Anyone? Does anyone know how to change this or if there is even an option to do so?
Use Dialer One (search the Market). There you set the tone interval in miliseconds (unders settings).
And believe me... You will never use the stock dialer anymore

How does this work exactly? Does it actually automatically replace the stock dialer or does it need to be started seperately everytime you make a call?
I dont mind the stcok dialed otherwise but I just wish I could figure out how to shorten the tones when dialing the phone.
This also only happens when I am already IN a call. When I make the initial call there is no actual tone sounds like a regular push button phone. It makes little "bloop" sounds instead... (Im sure you know what I mean... LOL!)
I have this same problem and it seems to happen at random, try disabling the touch tone sounds in the sound settings.

I have just tried that and I will let you know my findings. Thats kind of weird that this is the only way to do this and that there is no setting for it.

***EDIT*** Yes... This works but again it is awfully strange that there is no actual setting to switch this.

It replaces the original dialer (actually both can coexist). You just have to choose which icon to click. But I tell you. It's really a way better experience. Very customizable.
