firmware update to SPV M2000 - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I have tried to install the firmware update to my SPV M2000 from the Orange web site, it now displays a white screen with USB at the top and v2.07 at the bottom when docked in the usb cradle. It displays serial when undocked. The device is recognised when attached via the usb so it is communicating with the laptop. I have tried several times to continue the update - RUU_V2.5_ORANGEUK_V5.40.1.179_SHIP and it always stops on error 101 not communicating with PC. If I use MAUpgrade_noID then I get ROM Upgrade utility error, not designed for your device. I am able to synchronise another SPV M2000 using the same cradle and laptop with no problem comunicating.
I have tried to download an image from clubmate but cannot register as I do not have an Imate device. Any advice or pointers gratefully received.

I think you just tried to flash ROM that is for differetnt device: There was no (and there will ne no) official WM5 ROM for BlueAngel. Experiments with MAUpgrade_noID were very dangerous. But if device still shows Serial/USB, you might be able to repair the damage.
Download any normal, proper ROM for BlueAngel and flash it. but it must be for BlueAngel, not for other deivces. Information on WM5 flashing procedure and links to ROMs you can find on Wiki. There is WM6 also available for BA.

Upgrade to WM5 a stuck on bootloader

Hi to all I tried upgrade my BA to WM5 through WM2k5_AKU3.2 and I did everything by these instructions M5 ROM Installation Instructions that were indcluded in the rar file with ROM, EXTROM etc,
but unfortunetly after I pass 4th step(put BA to bootlader) I wanted upgrade the ROM using BaUpgradeUt.exe the utility was chcecking information for hour and nothing happened....then my BA is locked in bootloader.....nothing helps...
any Ideas?
i got that trouble 4 days ago.I thought i had to say goodbye to my PDA.
You can search and use mtty with task 28 ... to make your BA normal.
Amazing I tried use the mtty but in the list of comports I see only Serial ports and none USB.....WTF?
What does the display show?
It should have a white bg with SERIAL sign, with 2.(something).
If it does display such scree - you're in bootloader mode.
Now put the BA into cradle and connect the cradle to PC. The SERIAL should change to USB. If it does not - your BA froze in bootloader mode. Removing SIM card together with SD card helped (again, into BL mode, cradle - up, etc). If the SERIAL changes to USB - remove BA from cradle. If the USB did not change to SERIAL again - as above, BL freeze. Try the same solution.
If BA works as it should in BL mode - something is wrong with your PC-side of the operation...
the bootloader isn't froozen.....screen is changing depending on connecting or disconnecting to the cradle(serial goes to usb and vise versa).
With PC?I'm gonna mad about this....I have tried it on two system(both win XP) and same result.....
interesting thing is following one of those OS is 2 two days old(I have installed it two days ago...)
anyway.....throug this problems I'm little bit optimistic....If the bootloader isn't frozen I'm able flash the ROM isn't it?But the question is how.....when I run the BaUpgradeUt.exe from WM2k5_AKU3.2_32mb_v1.3.2 package it freeze on checking informations from device.....
any solution?

I have the same problem but i'am with mda III T-mobile can Any one help me ??????
well i do not want to offend you but you are too stupid to even try the upgrade over bluetooth, the upgrade only can be performed over cable
Get a cradle or a data cable and update according to descriptions in the Wiki. You're in bootloader mode, you should be able to resume the update from here, but ofcourse only by cable.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Home
worst case scenario is to recover your device using mtty, search the forums for the method
Or you can find it in "the guide" which can be found within the wiki (near xplode ROM)
I really want to improve the wiki - but the ****ing time

Cant Update P4350 With Official Wm6

Ive downloaded official wm6 sve rom from HTC website. My herlald is stuck on bootloader ipl 1.08 spl 1.08. When i connect to computer usb is shown on the screen bottom ,but when i try to flash the rom ,error 300 invalid update tool is shown.
how can i fix this??
Official rom matching my p4350 is supposed to work, but it doesnt.
please help!!!
Hi there,
I recently had a similar problem as you, what I did was to:
- remove the battery for 5-10secs
- put the battery back
- press and hold the camera button (do not release it)
- press the power on button ( the one at the top of the phone, used for the soft resets)
- The phone will display three different colors and "IPL ...."
- Connect your phone via the USB cable to the computer, Windows XP detects that as a new hardware and installs the USB drivers for it. Pockect PC ...., just accept the driver installation when it warns you that the driver is not signed.
- Past all of that you should now be ready to use the Official ROM file from HTC, run the file, and go through the steps. It should start the ROM upgrade.
Well I hope it helps you as these steps did bring my phone back after a failed ROM upgrade.
Cheers
thanks for your instructions .
i will try and post results
Is your phone CID locked?
Because if so, you have to go to your phone provider and see if they have their own official rom!

Upgrading help needed.

Hi Gurus,
Tried upgrading using different methods to O2 XDA IIs Asia Eng rom, however all methods seem to fail. Have already read the readme file.
a) Using Activesync and MaUpgradeUt__NoId.exe with the new rom.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Downgrade_WM5
Activesync 4.5 somehow connects at first, detects the rom versions, and closes without warning, leaving the xda2s disconnected giving connection errors.
b) Using manual method,
Using editfix.exe & getdevicedata.exe
Somehow gets warning errors about invalid passwords and wrong header file.
Is it a type 2 rom ?
c) Done hardreset and Going direct into bootloader (V.2.08) and using usb cable without activesync. The word serial does not change to usb, hence there is no connection through usb to the xda in bootloader mode.
Any ideas ? SD Card interface is not working. My guess is that the drivers for usb and sdio is not working. Any input ? I know that the usb cable and interface is working as i can browse the windows folder using activesync.
Updates
Managed to solve the issue with the bootloader mode detecting usb.
I'm trying to download from WM2005 to WM2003 (O2 Official WWE 1.42 release - Asian version.)
Followed the steps exactly in this link :
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Downgrade_WM5
Copied the official nk.nbf rom to the downgrade folder as instructed. When i ran MaUpgradeut_noid.exe, the screen stuck at the checking of info of device. does not seem to be able to flash in bootloader.
I'm using v2.08 of the bootloader (and usb is being displayed.)
Am i doing anything wrong ? Is there an alternate method ? This doesn't seem to work for me.
please help
i've got a ppc660kit and i did the processing and when it was done and i reset it show some colored screen and at the bottom it says no gsm and d 5. somthing.
please help
thanks
just a guess

just a guess, are you trying to flash your device from a widows vista pc, because connection errors especially happen there, because windows downloads new drivers while flashing, disconnecting your device, normally the manuals here are detailed step by step and seem to work for every compatible device, so there is probably the vista thing, a broken cradle or cable which is rather unlikely, or a general software issue with your pc
i forgot to ask, why are you using a Maupgrade, isn't he general upgrade file for blueangel compatible devices the Baupgrade?
nevermind
no i got it. i uploaded the 2.0.3 on my phone it fix the phone. but still shows the 4 color screen, that doesn't matter it still works
thanks anyways guys

Upgrade problem-Totally stumped

Hi
My Orange SPV M700 was successfully unlocked and radio upgraded and hard spl installed as per trinityguides.info with original Orange WM5. However I am now trying to upgrade the ROM to lastest dopod WM6, but cannot get past the bootloader using both usb cable or SD card methods. With usb the bootloader recognises the USB but activesync says there is no phone connected. If I softreset out of bootloader into the orange WM5 OS activesync connects OK.
I then tried the SD card method of renaming the .nbh file but it won't boot and just comes up with the bootloader screen. I've hard/soft reset the phone with no difference. It looks like I'm stuck with the factory WM5 orange ROM until I can resolve this issue as I've tried 2 PCs with XP and Vista and have now run out of ideas.
Although the phone works fine it appears there is some fault either with the hardspl bootloader or some or something introduced when it was unlocked/ radio ugraded?
Anyone got any ideas?
Help!!!
Possibly too late and possibly already tried, but when it is connected to your PC and in bootloader, the tri-colour screen, try running the upgrade again. Ignore what Active Sync says as at this point there is no PPC fror it to connect to.
I would also try one of the other ROMs, i tried the DOPOD ones and failed to get them to load, everything else i tried from here worked just fine.
