Real-time (as good as it gets) Exchange syncronization 24x7. All-in-all, this is the best ROM I've dealt with. I am pretty steady at 1.5 days before needing to charge. Hi All,
you will find a new rom (nothing really new) on the T-Mobile site.
http://www.t-mobile.de/business/hersteller/1,4516,6253-_2924-761-8,00.html
ba_tmde_12201_182_10600_ship_special.exe
It has
Radio 1.06
BT 3500
and Photo Contacts 1.17 without ringtone per caller.
It's about 40 MB and shall have a new improved BB client.
Found Radio 1.12.00 on ftp server
This is a Type II rom and comes out of a qtek rom, there is a thread about it.
Header reads:
PH20B, BRIGH001; WWE, 1.12.00
I have converted it to a Type I rom so it should work with the xda3nbftool.exe and the instructions should be the same as the 1.10.00 and found on wiki.
I have not tested it.
Great work, MDAIIIuser...as always!
Gotta love that tool, huh?
Nice to put it into real practice...excellent.

Any notable difference from 1.10 ?
Some feedback from your experiences please
I have not experienced any worthwhile improvement.
Works fine for me so far...but installed tonite.
So not much experience yet to report...
Pity we dont gave developer changelog so we can see what it fixes/improves
I noticed one obvious thing regarding the Radio 1.12.
With 1.12 & 1.08, the battery drains a lot faster than 1.062 & 1.10.
I had my IIs repeatedly flashed with each of these roms for at least 3 times. This is what I found...
1.062 & 1.06 are about the same, for a day, under typical use.
1.10 is the best so far, a full day typical usage + a full night and a morning.
1.08 is the worst, 9 hours for the same usage pattern (talk + standby).
1.12 is ok from 9 am to 11pm, with a few % left.
Thus I switch back to 1.10 for now.
I tested all these with in a very non-scientific way, but very accurate for myself as I have VERY similar usage pattern everyday, daily regular calls, standby, GPRS for email a few times a day + online newspaper + browsing this site....etc.
Do you guys see a difference in power drain by using different Radio versions? :?:
Battery Consumption
Thanks carbio for put battery consumption information. I have also experienced increase in battery. In my view 1.06 which orginally came with my PDA2K is consumes by far the least amount of battery.
I have tried 1.08 and 1.10 which all consumes more battery and with 1.06 I can go upto 36 hours with my typical usage including browsing on WIFI which is very heavy on batteries.
I am back to 1.06 and original PDA2k ROM.
I upgraded to 1.10 and Blackberry wouldn't connect, so had to downgrade back to 1.00
i've also noticed an decrease in battery since 1.10. Also I don't see any improvement otherwise so I'm goinf back to 1.06

Where did you find the blackberry in your BA? Have you got the cab file for this?
my xda2s used to hang from time to time and sometimes softreset won't even do anything! so i decided to get rid of some programs w/c was the SPC pocket plus version 2. something... and... IT WORKED!!! so far since the day i removed it for almost 2 months now, my xda2s doesnt hang... so far...
sorry that was supposed to be SPBPocket Plus!
it's a usefull program but apparently makes your O2 hang...
You are quite correct. SPB Pocket Plus hangs my PDA2k too.

ExtROM Version 1.40.110 WWE (cooked)
Bluetooth 1.0.0.3900
ditto, on my SX-66 I found the power bar at the top was the big one that caused issues...
Yeah, the power bar and the task manager did it for me. Locked up randomly, even with their latest version. I did away with task managers altogether, and I'm surprised how stable my PDA2k is without one. I just go into the Memory applet and kill any applications I don't want running anymore, but most of the programs I use are either smart enough to close on their own, or have an Exit menu option.
I had this problem with spb, until I upgraded to rom 1.40
I must say its only 24 hours but have noticed no problems no crashes
etc....
God dont you love these machines.....no 2 alike..
stay happy
I would like some help and advice here, am I hoping on too much from my SX66 or do I have Software/Rom Issues? I'm a newbe here so I'm sorry for this being so longl
I have been using a Motorola MPx220, I loved the way it worked with outlook, and bluetooth, so I thougth it would be nice to have a true PDA for notes etc and a phone in one. up to now for the last 6 months I have been using a Motorola MPx220 & an HP4705 pda for making notes etc.
I have had SX66 for a little less than a week, the signal reception has be horrible for example here at my computer the MPX220 has full signa yet the SX66 only has 1 bar
My device info is as follows:
ROM Version: 1.33.10 WWE
ROM Date: 1/21/05
Radio Version: 1.02.10
Protocol Version: 1337.35
ExtROM version: 1.33.110 WWE
The case that came with the phone doesn't do a good job staying on the belt, I have had issues with making a call and having no audio at all, this is with bluetooth, hardwire earphones or just the phone.
so far I HATE this phone, does anyone else have any expierence with this phone? Do I just have a lemon or is it the phone?
I travel about 4-5 days per week on average across the southeast it would be nice to have an all in one device, be able to surf the web with a larger screen, write directly to the screen for notes etc. and maybe even e-mail but this really sucks, I also have been trying to set it up on my 802.11b/g network but I don't have any luck setting it up, I do have a password on the network but I can't seem to get this shown.
Please let me know what you think, I'm open for suggestions, also If I keep this phone/pda what is the best case for it?
Thanks for all of your help.
I have the Krusell Multidapt for my SX66; it adds very little bulk, especially if you don't attach the belt hook. I bought mine on eBay a few months back for $23.
You should definitely update the firmware; I'm using the standardized SX66 ROM, and I've noticed definite improvements in BT and WiFi performance. I use WiFi both at home & office; it's free and much faster than GPRS.
I haven't noticed any GSM signal issues in metro Atlanta; I live in Duluth & work on Mansell near North Point Parkway. I get excellent signal at home but only one bar (on a good day) at the office, but the phone works well there. FWIW, when I visited Southern Cali last Xmas, my SX66 did better in low signal conditions than my dad's Nokia.
Yes, updating your device to the latest Radio ROM will go a LONG way in helping you out. I have a PDA2k that I am using on Cingular, and have notice a great deal of signal improvement here in Nashville, TN with the 1.13 Radio ROM.
if you go to the Blue Angel Wiki page, you should find links to all the firmware updates you need, including the Radio ROM.
The SX66 Extended ROM Standardization Project will also have a decent Ext. ROM that you can use. It will have the latest BlueTooth stack in it, as well as updated software for use in the SX66.
I see a few reply's about updating the Rom
Which ROM is best? I have seen reply's telling of different sites for rom's also for a newbe any place I can get good step by step directions?
Thanks
Also keep the advice comming I really appreciate all of the help

Hi,
I ran my Qtek9090 now hapily with KPN140 version, BT3900 and Unidirectional patch (since that long-awaited came out!).
I allready searched the forum but could not really make out why and if I should upgrade to 2005 version.
Is there allready a list of what is better and what is worse?
Maybe just simple list like:
(example!) - Wifi better 2003SE
(example!) - Bluetooth better 2005
Hi pvanhaaren;
I have had problems with my Qtek 9090 when it was flashed with windows 2003 SE version 1.40, Radio 1.12 and 1.13.
Soft reset an average of 2 times per day, trying to keep the GSM connection online, so that I can be available, reachable for the ones who were trying to call me.
Well this Problem has disappeared in Windows 2005 version with Radio 1.13, but some applications in 2005 are very slow in opening and sometimes freezes about 5 to 20 seconds. If you press the hang-up key (to End a Call) and place your phone into standby mode, you can hear a voice that this button was pressed in about 3 to 5 minutes after standby, very strange.
Actually there is a new ROM version 1.42 which is included in the T-Mobile Image, and flashed my device with this version, facing no problems till now, very fast and stable, and forgot when it was the last time I soft reset.
Current Device Info:
Rom Version 1.42.00 WWE
Rom Date 09/05/05
Radio Version 1.13.00
Protocol Version 1337.42
Ext Rom 1.42.115
Didn't install all the files of the Ext Rom (ex: T-Mobile Skins, Registry Settings, etc...), picked some applications from T-Mobile such as Caller ID, Arc Soft MMS and Camera to be able to use the MMS.
