I have a big problem. i can not make a hardreset on my TyTn II.
When i got to the settings-system-clear storage and write 1234 and press YES nothing happens.
And if i try like:

it boots normal.
And if i try to swicht off (hold down the power button for a few seconds) the warning comes up and i answer yes, the screen gos black. and when i try to start agen it comes up from "sleeping" mode - it was never off.
the only way to turn it off is to remove the battery.
Any one has any ide'?

A hard reset is hold the two soft keys marked '-' and '-' and insert the stylus into the hole at the bottom of the phone. ***NOTE*** this will reset to factory defaults and you will lose all stored data and any applications you have loaded. The phone will then restart as if turned on 'Out of the box'
When you hold the power button and click 'yes' it will go into hibernate mode just like a laptop, storing its processor and memory in Flash memory and power off. The phone will not receive calls or txts as all systems are 'OFF'
Giving the power button a short press will put the phone in standby mode ready to receive calls and txts and any applications will be still running.

Can anyone advise how I can reset my device to the original state it came in the box. My previous device you had press 2 buttons on the keypad and the reset button. Anyone help with the Kaiser?

Hold in two soft keys and then reset with stylus thats a true hard reset. Much more info posted in the first sticky in Kaiser Upgrading Thread
"true" hard reset? I think it is the same thing with that "Clear Storage".
Just read the manual and I did once.

My device has gone really wrong all of sudden. Keeps locking up, weird application corruption etc. I have taken out the battery a number of times. The phone boots up and seems to be ok, but if I slide out the keyboard nothing happens on screen. If I try and make a call the touch screen will not work to dial a number. Weird screen corruption. I thought this device was too good to be true.
I want to do a hard reset. HOwever not sure what the buttons are.

What is the "hold talk" and end soft key?
This will clear up any confussion i hope:
-Enter Bootloader mode: Hold Camera + Power buttons together and reset with stylus(thanks pof)
-HardReset: Hold Both soft keys in while pushing in Reset button :When prompted push Green Talk Button to clear data.
I've searched the forums, and can't find a report of anything similar...so this might be new...if it isn't, help locating a thread would be great.
- Downloaded Blackberry connect install cab
- Seems to install fine (log looked good before reboot)
- Press "ok" to reboot device, but upon reboot, the device screen is locked at the Windows Mobile screen
The unit seems to be operating fine... I can receive calls - the phone rings, the caller ID pops up, but it stays on top of the Windows Mobile boot screen...
The power button will not shut the unit off...only turns the locked screen on and off
Battery removal and reboot freezes at same spot.
I had deselected all the ActiveSync options including the 'connect via USB' option... and now can't view my device from my laptop...
I've had the TILT only a couple of days...I'm running the stock ATT Tilt ROM & software...added two themes (night palms and the planet reflection ones)... have a 6G microSD card with some songs, pictures, and a device backup...

I tried it on mine and it did the same. So I gave up and did the hard reset and started over without even attempting to install the bb connect.

I repeated the bbconnect setup, this time installing to the device instead of to my card... everything worked fine.

a hard reset will wipe all your data and set it everything back to the default status...it isn't supposed to clear anything on your sd card ... i take mine out anyway.
to do a hard reset, hold both the soft buttons while pressing the reset button w/ the stylus (the reset button is on the bottom edge under the hard OK button )

One thing the instruction did not say rright was to hold the two soft keys and then press the reset then release and wait for the screen to give the instructions. Well the real way is to hold all 3 and wait and the process will be on its way.

this is just not working for me, how long are you pressing the stylus in? how long are you holding the buttons?
When I do it I get the AT&T logo screen (a short vibrate) then it continues to the windows mobile boot screen. I can never get the prompt to erase all data. I've tried the procedure a dozen times, no luck.
Make sure you are pressing the soft buttons and not the 'call' and 'end call' buttons as stated on some sites. Hold those and press stylus into reset until it turns off. Continue holding the buttons until the message comes up.
I've just had to do this for exactly the same reason!
I had the same problem on my Touch. After the hard reset I have found a solution: install application to device memory not on storage card. That helped me and now BB Connect is working fine.
I have a problem which i cant turn on my phone, i press the on/off button, after a while the "touch diamond" screen appears, and then nothing, the phone turns to be dead.
I tryed several sim cards, same thing.
It happend while I was watching a vid and then the phone stucked and "died"
How can I solve this problem?

After messing around with the device, I am now readying it to be my phone...this means, hard reset to go back to how it was + sync + simcard in etc
The rest procedure is as follows:
If device is on:
Hold Vol Up and Down and at the same time, press the reset button (you will have to remove the back battery cover and it is the RED button under the stylus head and NOT the opposite side which says VOID (this is a screw) )
Your device will reboot and then display on a white Screen:
"This operation will delete all your personal data and reset.... etc
Now release your volume buttons and press the Vol UP button to reset it
Any other key will take you out of this and reboot the device without a hard reset.
Obviously soft reset is self explanatory...just press the red button in and release..this will reboot the device without any data loss
This is in your manual too on page 213/214 but it is always easier it being on a forum

This didn't work on my device but I found out that pressing volume down + the red soft reset button will take you to the bootloader.

found an easier way. you even dont need to remove the back battery cover to get to the reset button.
1. turn off the D2 by pressing(and holding down) the power button for few seconds! it will ask you if you want to turn of the phone.. "yes"
-for a Softreset just power on again ---> Softreset
-for a Hardreset hold VolUP & VolDn and power on! now you'll get to the white screen telling you everything will be deleted blabla! as akash_84 wrote now just press VolUP ---> Hardreset

well, if u need to hardreset ur phone, in most case u wont be able to access start, settings, blabla.. so where's the point?

I Followed the instruction step by step to Diamond2 but screen doesnt show any message buit instead I saw many colors such as red, green I think etc. what seems to be the problem can you please help me I need to Hard reset my device.
Make sure you press the volume up and volume down buttons in together and press the reset button, with the screen display you are getting it appears that you are only presing the volume down button
Long time ago found one program for my smartphone, to make restart by software. Here you can get this program:http://rapidshare.com/files/246268871/129_PhoneReboot.rar
Copy both files to device Program files\ folder, rename .ln to .lnk and insert it in Programs folder.
At least it works on my TD2
the vol up + vol down + red button worked. But the one with the vol up + vol down + power button didn't actually work :-?. Maybe didn't press enough time. Thanks a lot!!!

there are now 2 ways to hard reset our devices....
Will one of the hard reset delete the storage card also?

I removed the card when I did a hard reset, but I've read in these forums that I will work without removing it (meaning you won't lose anything with a hard reset with the card in). Didn't try it, read about it after I did the reset ...
Here's the problem with my HTC HD7, I have used it for sometime and today I did a reset going to settings->about->reset. The phone came back straight to the home(tiles) screen without starting through the Windows setup screens. It then restarted by itself and after that it is pulling back all of my old contacts, old messages & mails. I also did a factory reset using the Volume Up/down & power buttons but the same story.
Anyone think of what's going on? do you think the internal memory corruption or something?

Resetting using the hardware buttons
You can also use the buttons to perform a hard reset. This comes in handy if the screen is frozen and you can’t access the phone.
1. Turn the phone off. If it’s frozen or unresponsive, pull then replace the battery.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons and power the phone back on.
3. Continue to hold Volume Up and Volume Down until a factory reset screen appears.
